{Ed025's Note - thats fine by me as well dazza...just dont tell vinny o,connor, he looks forward to his finch farm outing on deadline day mate.. :)

27 Jan 2017 22:02:18
The last few weeks and the results we have had I don't think we do need anymore other than a striker if Rom picks up an injury

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Jan 2017 19:35:26
I think the results recently has probably made Koeman rethink over his players and the player rethink over Koeman the balance has to be right. Feels like we are going to have successful run to the end of the season

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - lets hope so mate..

27 Jan 2017 17:51:31
Just read the Karl Robinson interview about Lookman and I have to say, I am really excited to see what this young lad is going to bring to our team. The most exciting signing since RK took over I hope.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - it would be great if he was the real deal smit, he just looks so young though!..but he does possess something that frightens the life out of defenders and that is blistering pace..come on ademola "you da boy".. :)

27 Jan 2017 18:10:12
He is definitely an exciting prospect like, Calvert Lewin, holgate and Davies add that to the other young lads we have and things are looking really good for the future for our club

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - the futue looks bright smit..the future looks blue..

27 Jan 2017 18:37:42
Have had a few beers with Mr Robinson in the past when he was still at the Dons. He has got a good eye for young players. Told me all about Deli Ali before he went to Spurs. So if he thinks Lookmans special then we have someone very exciting to look forward to.

Hi ed

Did you think Jose Baxter would be our headline signing in January? I think it's pathetic and shows kenwrights losers mentality still lingers in the club? If we don't sign anyone it will feel like a bit if a let down to me

Believable3 Unbelievable15

{Ed002's Note - Schneiderlin and Lookman have joined. I assume you are looking to give Liverpool a run at having the worst supoorters in the world with a moronic post like this.}

27 Jan 2017 15:58:42
Hi Edt that's the most ridiculous post I have ever seen on here what a load of absolute rubbish, surprised you even printed it mate cheers GuernseyBlue

27 Jan 2017 16:30:02
Can't believe the post of jbg, pathetic, blaming Kenwright, he sorts out the best investor this club has ever had, has sign one of the best managers in football, and is a true blue, get real it is not how many we buy it's who we buy, I am personally very happy with the progress we are making.

Agree2 Disagree0

27 Jan 2017 16:35:19
And i can not believe Guernseyblue that someone has actually liked that post. Jesus tonight what's up with some so called supporters Ed02 is spot on.

He probably liked his own post. I for 1 will be happy with this window even if it shut tomorrow. I have no doubt that there's still 1 or 2 in the pipeline tho

27 Jan 2017 17:05:07
I have said before that some Blues have got stuck in a rut after years of little investment and progress. but to blame past failures and lack of investment on Kenright is just unfair on the guy. In the days of Mike Walker and Joe Royle walking out because he was refused the money to sign Torre Andre Flo.

we were rock bottom thereafter. Kenright did an amazing job in stopping the slide and now we have progress at last being made. but these guys cannot see the wood for the trees.

Hi Degsy that's a great post mate, that poster does not know what he is talking about, if he had been around in the 50s and 60s and had the roller coaster ride up to thepresent day we have had, he would know different, GuernseyBlue

Hello Ed,

This lad we and everyone else been linked with Bailey from Genk, hearing he is on the verge of joining Bayer Leverkusen?

You know anything about this?

Cheers

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - You need the European page - it has nothing whatsoever to do with Everton.}

27 Jan 2017 07:22:25
I know ed2 and a few others have mentioned lukaku leaving in the summer but I feel he may stay with us for a few reasons.
1) if we continue to play well and we may get into Europe, he may see us progressing with him.
2) which of the really big clubs can afford him or really need him? Real and Barcelona have bags of talent up top and bayern or psg may not be able to afford him.

As a replacement, we could look at that new goalscorer at Hull. I think his nameis Niasse. He scored last night against Man Utd. What a coincidence that he has the same name as the lad rotting in our u23's and not allowed to train with the first team.

27 Jan 2017 10:03:38
Hopefully Hull will buy him Degs, I wasn't impressed at all. His passing / crossing wasn't up to much. He's Championship level at best imo

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Jan 2017 10:12:22
Think that's why he's there. to prove he knows what a football looks like and how to put the ball into the white sticks. Hopefully he comes good and we can use him next season

27 Jan 2017 10:29:56
Wasn't Lukaku leaving last summer? Forget all the crap about wanting to play in Champions league and testing yourself. If that's the case sign for New Saints, there in it every year.
It's all about money, nothing else. So if Man Utd, who might not qualify for Champ League, but offered him double the wages then he would go there. Pogba being a perfect example.

27 Jan 2017 11:11:02
I do pray that Niasse bangs them in for Hull will make Ronny look like a real plonker then at least martinez tried him for a few minutes here and there but Ronny told him straight away and publically that he had no future at all.

If and a big if he does impress at Hull the way he has been treated I doubt he would want to come back - could be another one that gets away only time will tell

Agree0 Disagree1

27 Jan 2017 11:57:34
He's bang average, and 13m was a ridiculous price to pay for him.

27 Jan 2017 12:18:13
niasse plays 1 game and scores a goal apart from that he did nowt else and some fans either want him back or want him to make our manager look like a fool for not wanting him here.

Looks like we have offered Jose Baxter a 12 month contract and he will be playing with the U23's squad for the remainder of the season. I know the lad has done a lot of work with the EIC, some turn around after his off the field problems. Even if he doesn't make it to the first team I hope the club have given him a route back into football. We all did stupid things when we were young, I just hope he has learnt his lesson.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - it looks like the last chance saloon for him spud, i hope he is very grateful and realizes how lucky he is that this club has a heart of gold mate..

27 Jan 2017 07:32:37
I don't see him doing anything with first team but I do hope we put the right people round him to sort his head out and focused on football so he can play again for championship club. Great gesture by the club to look after one of our own.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Jan 2017 07:35:54
very true ed and I hope for his sake that he heeds the warnings and keeps his nose clean (pun intended! ) even if it is eventually with another club. Rhino will sort him out

I personally think it's not the best thing to do and sends the wrong message out to the young players. how does this lad deserve a 12 month contract with us again. He has been banned more than once now for drugs. Not as if it was a 1 time thing.

Sends a message to say the young lads don't worry if u do drugs there is a way back. Not for me I think it's a bad move.

I see your point about giving the lad a way back into football. But does he deserve it after the chances he has had

When they are lads on the fringes trying the hardest to get signed an being professional.

Not for me.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jan 2017 12:05:33
Only the club and the lad himself know the reason why the club have offered him this opportunity. I for one don't see anything wrong with it, and as for how it will look to the younger players. Well I have heard that part of this deal is that he will be talking to the younger players about what happened to him, and how easy it is to fail.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Jan 2017 13:13:37
Jimbochaddy, I could see your point if he had committed a more serious crime. But he's only taken drugs. I/ lots of us used to sniff when I/ we were younger it doeesn't make us bad/ unreliable people who should be disguarded or written off because of one part of our lives.

How many of us can say having as much money as a football player even a young one we wouldn't have acted idiots and spent that money on things we shouldn't have.

You have heard about one part of his life and assume he is a bad person and bad influence. He may be the best person for the young players to learn from having made mistakes and come back from it.

There's more to to being a good role model than being able to kick a ball.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Jan 2017 16:29:30
If anything, his story can be an example to the younger kids of how too much money too young can be a bad thing. If he steers one youth player away from drugs then it will be a successful venture. He would have served his ban come July, we, as a society, can't keep punishing people for their mistakes once they have paid their dues. He has been stupid but never hurt anyone but himself. He has been working for EITC during his ban so those in the back ground have seen him doing good things and believe he is worthy of another chance. It doesn't mean he will be performing for the 1st team any time soon and, as I stated in the OP, it could just be a leg up for the lad to get back in the game at a decent level. Live and let leave I say.
It's funny how supporters have a go at Bill when a not so positive story is in the press yet the good stuff is always attributed to Moshiri. For me, it shows that the club/ board look after their own in the good and the bad times. Not a bad thing really

i have seen posts saying we need a left back, i think garbutt and galoway have already shown they are ready to take over from baines one day.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

27 Jan 2017 06:52:25
Garbutt unfortunately has not made significant improvement and Galloway is a defensive left back rather than the wing back Baines is. Galloway looks more a CB than LB.

Baines is on a different level completely along with Coleman and its that level we need to find. We need to learn the lesson of our neighbours and not try to put square pegs in rounds holes like Milner.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Jan 2017 07:02:00
Garbutt looked half decent and had a rep as an up and coming future first team player but that may have changed under the new regime. Galloway did well but his best position is cb

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jan 2017 08:09:16
Anyone who saw Galloway taken apart against Stoke by Shakiri (spelling) , will know he is no left back. As for Garbutt, watched him a few times in games for us and he looked the real deal (my opinion) . It was only when Garbutt was moved on that he lost form. Oviedo is in the mold of Baines I. E. a Wing Back rather than defender. In any case, Koeman does not seem to worried, that should be good enough for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jan 2017 16:47:57
Can see us buying. Hopefully keep Galloway as CB but think Garbutt will be moved on.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Jan 2017 00:19:55
Well I don't think any of us saw this coming. We have apparently offered Jose Baxter a 12 month contract

Seems a bit of a strange one to me as he's had quite a few drug problems and can't seem to stay out of trouble. Let's hope he gets himself straight and takes this unbelievable opportunity and who knows he may end up being the player we all thought he would be at 16

Good luck Jose!

Our club is truly amazing. This is his last chance and I hope he takes it. He can easily play the championship and good enough for lower PL clubs. He needs the right people around him now to support him.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i dont know what to make of this john, i like the lad and of course his problems have been well documented so this is a stunning gesture by the club mate..

26 Jan 2017 23:07:24
Has anyone seen the piece on Baxte coming back to the club when his 12 month ban is up to join our under23s, nice gesture by the club but wouldn't want it to affect the other lads in the team hope he takes the chance with both hands and shows the club the respect we have shown him might be a future 1st teamer.
