I see trees of green and skies of blue..... Oldham 3 and liverpool 2....... and I think to myself...... what a wonderful world.........

Well that was fun to see them lot go to pieces at lower league. It's usually us! We have to make sure we win Oldham ourselves now and get in the quarters, 17 years without a trophy is too long for our great club!
Also a big 3-4 days coming up here, the board need to help Moyes too strengthen the squad and send out a message to the fans and to the teams challenging for top 4 that we are a serious and ambitious club, if they don't we will just stand still and watch Tottenham and Arsenal and possibly Liverpool stride past us again like we did in 2004.

Feeling optimistic about this week, think we could be in for a little bit of late business, not expecting millions to be splashed but a cheeky signing or two will do me nicely!

Who does everyone think we will sign?

Mike20

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Not sure who but reckon there, ll be a huge shock! i'd like it to be Capoue & Gameiro but who knows?? Muhaha Rob Walker

I would bring in a striker and central wide man to cover mirralas donavon would be great as we have struggled down the right last couple months and I think that's why Jelavic is suffering as he tends to drift out there more you rarely see him coming out to left as he does not need to personally I would go and get lambert from Southampton he is top drawer does not have pace but has everything else I know he his 31 but believe he has 2-3 years of quality in him think of the goals he would get with our crossing

I watched the Liverpool game what a great
Result. What I would say is that Gerard is
Such a disgrace he barracked the ref as soon
As he came on and every time the was
A break in play he continued to have a go.
England captain role model no!!
You have to earn the right to play and
Win games. Just because your liverpool
Teams won't role over for you...

Lets hope we're up for Oldham

Coyb!!!!
I'm saying cheeky bid for Darren Bent.

Believable2 Unbelievable4

Yes! Acted terribly from the second he came on! Jones and Skrtel both got away with raising hands to Oldham forward, yet the kid picked up a booking!

28 Jan 2013 18:36:38
Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Liverpool put in a £35 million bid in for the donkey Carroll after he scored twice against hem last year - wondering if they will put in a similar bid for Smith from Oldham after yesterday.

Oldham it is then boys, what do you all think?

TT {Ed025's Note - good draw for us..

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Hope they give us more tickets than bolton

Agree0 Disagree0

I would have been happy about that before they knocked out Liverpool. It's still a good draw but we have to be careful and not take the win for granted. I think a physically strong side needs to be put out as that's how they beat Liverpool.

Felli to man mark Smith! Haha

Agree0 Disagree0

A good draw for us but also a great draw for Oldham. They've just put our ugly cousins out of the cup and will be looking to do the double now, you can also bet that most neutrals will be backing them for another upset as well. Yet another away draw for us but if we work hard and don't take it as a given there's no reason why we can't progress.

Only got a ground capacity of 10, 600 so will only get about 2000!

Looking at how the other BPL teams are faring in the FA Cup, it shows how well we did to dig in and win away at Bolton, despite performance.

Johnnyboy.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Mirallas will be so important to our European hopes if he stays fit, him and Coleman on one side and baines and Pineaar on the other flank, we will be laughing

He said that after spurs and it was 2 months til we saw him again. also gibson was only meant to be 4 weeks and has only just returned to training. fingers crossed mirillas ain't that bad.

Ed, that poster from yesterday about the morinhio thing... I think he is a chelsea fan. I just get a sheer sense of jealousy in his tone. Not jealous rivalry but the jealousy felt when one of your players goes elswhere. So the very tbought of his old manager running our club really got to him.

Ultimately though I can't see the special one coming to us. But I do see the the moysiah staying.

Anyway heres for a home draw

Two things 1. what's the story with gibbos injury? 2. Oviedo must be showing nothing in training for naismith and gueye to be getting games ahead of him.

r we scouting chris woods who plays for leicester.10 goals in 7 games.we should be {Ed025's Note - he does look good..

Believable2 Unbelievable0

He only signed at the beginning off Jan so I doubt we will land him, quality player though! There's a few players in the Championship who have real talent!

Agree0 Disagree0

Not good enough for us mate won't ever play Champ league football maybe someone like Wigan or Norwich he may do good job but you have to ask yourselves why did west brom let him go he was in there squad but could not break through, he will score bags of goals in championship.

Hi Ed. I hope that the "please donate" banner that's appeared recently doesn't mean that the site's in danger of closing?! I'd be lost without the banter & posts from all the lads.
I'm not working at the moment but I'll try to donate something when I can.
Just a thought - would it helped if we all clicked on to some the ads on the pages? Do these companies pay you if someone does this? If so, then I'm sure all the lads will do this on a regular basis if it keeps the site going.
(Get Melanie Sykes on that "Mature Dating" site & I'll click myself blind!)
Toffee Tezza {Ed001's Note - no mate, it is simply we are building a new site, for player ratings, match ratings etc, with a fantasy football type game too. Just want to be able to get prizes in, not expensive things but little trophies for monthly winners to keep.}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

So clicking the ads makes no difference?

how about we play this next game

howard
neville jags distin bainse
pienaar heitinga?osman oveido
fellaini
Jelavic

now I know heitinga has had a bad season but play him CM for one game and see what he can do!

Believable2 Unbelievable4

Can't risk it in our position. I'd prefer Hitzlsperger.

Keith EFC.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't get carried away with Heitinga's cameo yesterday, however welcome his goal, I'd always prefer to see Hitslperger in midfield in preference to Johnny.

Dont have a source and not going to say this is 100% going to happen because my ex girlfriends sisters mate used to sell bovril at upper gladys told me.

Although I am disappointed that we never signed anyone early, I reckon moyes has played his hand well like normal. hasn't extended his contract at a time we were in form, hope he is waiting for us to be in bit of a slump (maybe like we seem to be now). Hopefully he will bring in a player or two to boost the morale then sign a new contract. Should get the players fired up and push us towards our usual second half of the season.

I have never doubted that someone will come in before window closes....Moyse simply wasnt going to let the opportunity of a top four push go without laying his cards on the table at board level and inspiring some movement of cash, sufficient to bring in at least one player of sufficient quality to help the champions league aim. He said he had wry smile on his face, so we look forward to seeing the new face this week. It won't be a dud! Here´s to a nice home draw in the cup....coyb
