Played well tonight and came back well after an unlucky start. Let's hope for an easy draw! Magaye played well tonight and has hopefully done enough to force himself into matchday squads as we need the players to step up if the board will not. Well done lads and keep it going! COYB!! Also to everyone that looks for rumours for glimmers of hope regarding takeovers like myself, I've had my house up for sale for a while now, It hasn't been bought yet but it will.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Gueye great? what game were you watching, he was shocking! His dead balls never beat the first man, his crosses were too short or too long, and his defencive nievity diminishes Baines attacking runs!! he comes off the wing far too much and everytime we play him Baines is very quiet. He is unable to turn with his back to goal, on the wing everytime Baines gave him the ball and ran on Guaye came back against himself and left Baines high and dry 40 yards outta position without the ball.

He has great potential i agree, but needs to be more disiplined in his defencive duties and in his awareness of other players going forward!

Kurajan {Ed025's Note - to be honest...i thought he done well..

Agree0 Disagree0

His dead balls never beat the first man ? We had 5 corners just after Fulham scored and from 2 of them that Gueye took we nearly scored, he was running at players and trying to make things happen, he ran out of energy in the 2nd half but i thought he done ok !!!

Well good win boys we deserved that was not perfect by any means but lots of positives few stray passes but on the whole much improved should of scored couple more but a win is a win. Fellaini we'd great tonight positional was good and ran the midfield the way he should be doing also I thought straq was the best performance from a striker this season great header had a shot that ballooned over but his touch was good and rarely gave it away surely must start Tuesday as well not just cause he scored but looked a threat

I was in the main stand for the Coventry City 12,000 attendance game....could tonights game "beat" it??

George

Believable1 Unbelievable1

George, I was also at that game, new years eve
1983 I seem to remember. The Blackburn game last weekend strongly reminded me of it, terrible game and the players booed off at the final whistle.
However do you remember how our fortunes changed a few weeks later? Again in a cup game. We then went on to dominate English football and would have dominated Europe as well if it hadn't have been for Heysel. Just I fraction of that change of fortune would do me at the moment. COYB.

I am in the know a bit friends with Andy Gary he has heard that everton are in talks with one man about buying the club and talks having been going on since November can't say who it is as I can't name him for reasons but lets just say his name has been on here before and very rich, anyway it is happening and all u blues out there this rumour page will seem very different in a few months it is taking time as this guy is sorting the stadium first as it is major to there plans and the stadium will be largest in the world the guy don't like to do things small this is why it's taking long time lets just say he won't be building a football club it will be a football sin city the project is huge and will blow everyone out of the water the stadium will be bought and paid for before the club so the club don't have to worry about the breaking even rills very clever this man gets what he wants I don't post on here to often but this is why mr kenwright has smile on face, I bet he would love to go on sky sports and tell everyone
Will post when more news will come my way

I can see the line up being this tonight;
Howard
Neville, Hibbert, Heitinga, Baines,
Donovan, Fellaini, Gibson, Anichebe,
Cahill, Saha

I would prefer to see
Howard
Hibbert, Duffy, Heitinga, Baines
Drenthe, Fellaini, Gibson, Gueye,
Donovan, Anichebe or Straqualersui

Cahill could be a great player from the bench, which i think is where he should of been used from for most of this season. Coming off the bench for the last 20 because he is a pest and annoys defender's and in the last 20 when players are tiring Cahill could find extra space in the box and maybe would have a few more goals than the 1 he has this season.
Don't know if anyone agree's but i think Moyes has poorly managed Cahill this season, he was clearly struggling at the begining of the season and needed to be left on the bench to be a impact sub yet Moyes just continued putting him in the firing line week in week out.

Anyway can see a draw tonight 1-1 and a replay at there ground {Ed025's Note - your right...if its 1-1...the replay will definately be at their ground..

I love the comment: lets thrash Fulham tonight 1 nil. I would add that this should be with a deflected own goal that included a clear handball by Felli whilst we had 12 players on the pitch and three of theirs down injured and the referee being blinded by a piece of mud that flew off Tim Howards boot a few weeks ago and is just re-entering the atmosphere. Gotta laugh or we would all be crying!! Keep smiling Blues......Remember no matter how bad it gets......it's still better than RED!

Hey fellow Blues.....remember our position when Davey Moyes took over. I think we were bottom 3 with like 5 games to go. Since then we have been in Europe 3 times (is it 3?) have been in a cup final and close to winning it. Ok this season is crap in comparison but remember Walters days and Mike Walkers if you want to get depressed. However, I do wonder how the sums add up when we can't afford fees or wages to sign players when you think of all the cash that has come into the club in recent years. Profits made from sales plus gates plus league money.

this isnt anything to do with who everton are linked with but there are some good players on the bosmans in the italian league that we should go for in the summer and some now such as; sulley munatri, walter samuel flamini, chivu, montolivo and de rossi. which ones would you take at Everton? {Ed025's Note - all of them..

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Id rather be linked with some of those players than the likes of david weir! The likes of chivu would be a good aquisition for us at the back. I would imagine any incoming midfielders delends on how true the rumours are about rodwell leaving - H

Going from the sublime to the ridiculous on here..The Rodwell to Chelsea story is gathering some momentum..If it is to happen then let's hope the money is made available to DM in time to be of some use..I'd really like us to get the lad Silva and Maynard if the price isn't daft..What do ya think of Maynard Ed.? {Ed025's Note - i like him...a bit of a gamble..but well worth a punt..

Believable0 Unbelievable3

If there is real interest in Maynard, we'll leave any bid until right at the last minute.

He's out of contract in the summer, so this is Bristol Citys last chance to make any money on him (they spent £2.25m on him, which is a lot for them......and us, come to think of it! :)

If they havent had any bids by tranfer deadline day, expect EFC to put a cheeky £500k bid in and see if we can snap him up.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Ed how many times you seen him play as I live in Bristol and he is not that great not even in top 5 strikers in championship {Ed025's Note - i have seen him a few times..and i think he is very good..and would love to know the 5 better..

Agree0 Disagree0

He is not that great watched him over 40 games since living in Bristol yea he can score some great goals but not a prolific striker injury problems as well
Here are the 5 Ed

lambert
sharp
Saha
Beckford
McCormack
Miller {Ed001's Note - he was great at Crewe as a kid, loads of potential, but injuries and lack of decent supply (some would say coaching too) have held him back since moving to Bristol.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Lambert
McCormack
Guly
Miller
Saha
Sharp
Henderson

Agree0 Disagree0

I would take a shot at lambert I know he is 29 but he can go on for few more years he does not have any pace anyway, it was Nristol rovers that signed him and turned him into a striker if you look at his goal ratio starting at rovers then he is as prolific as anyone in the world can't remember when he did not score 20 league goals a season not for at least 3 seasons anyway

Tonights starting 11 shoud be-

Howard
Hibbert duffy heitenga baines
Gueye felliani barkley donovan
Denis
Drenthe (free roll)

I know we got a big game on tuesdsy but tonight is very important aswell! Good cup run is most likey our only route bck into europe (if im right in thinking a place in the final gets you a europa league spot) with european fooball comes money and advertises the club on a grander scale to potential investors/buyers, plyers want to play in europe and will be happy to stay at the club, will attract transfer targets that we would of normally missed out on etc etc.. so like i said tonights game is HUGE for us! If moyes gets the team to go straight at fulham and get an early lead then finish them off with another 2 or 3 we can then make some changes with tuesday in mind!a good positive performance and a win will give everybody a lift and give us some much needed confidence to face man city! Very tough game but from what ive seen of city they seem to panic when teams go at them and dont give them time on the ball! They will always score but they dont like defending! Need to attack them aswell dont want to be doing what we did at there plce! Boring and we still lost!
I will be watching online tonight (if i can find a live stream) as i have to work! :-

Believable1 Unbelievable2

"Free Roll"....that would be good to watch. Denthe just allowed to do forward rolls around the park for 90 mins ;)

Cant see him starting Barklay - he's only had 70 mins with the U18's since his injury (although, I think we'd all like to see him on the pitch)

In any other enterprise, if you lied to and contiually mislead your customers, over many years, you would not last long. If you produced a shodey over priced product, you would go the same way, and if you turnd arouned and tried to blame the customers for there disloyalty to cover your own gross mismanagement, you would become a case study in bussines schools on how not to run a company. But Kenwright and co have us, we love OUR club, so none of the usual commecial checks can or will be brought into play by us. Could we look at an alternative to remove these carpet bagers ? Instead of seeing the bank as our enermy, it might be possibly to get them to see it as a common interest to remove the directors. If their consern is the security of the outstanding loan, they might be prepard to make ongoing support, conditional on putting their man on the board, with an agreed mandate to sell the club, belive this solution worked not a million miles away.

Blue Union agree on strategy moving forward
/ 7 comments

The Casa, as predicted, was crammed with disenchanted Evertonians.
On a cold wet Wednesday winter evening, Blue Union supporters, concerned by the all too apparent crisis enveloping our great club, packed into a Liverpool city centre venue to take part in a strategy meeting.

The purpose of the strategy meeting was for The Blue Union Officers to listen and gauge the mood of the fans, demonstrate to them that they’re an inclusive part of The Blue Union and allow them to participate in a democratic vote which will direct The Blue Union officers as they develop a strategy for the first few months of 2012.

Blue Union chair, Dave Kelly, after paying a tribute to recently deceased former player Gary Ablett and Spirit of Shankly Vice President, Paul Rice, who were both separately and warmly applauded by all present, delivered a rousing opening speech attacking the club’s policies which have been the breeding grounds for deceit, mismanagement and underachievement which has ultimately, and all too predictably, led to the club’s stagnation.

Following Dave’s rousing opening speech; Simon Magner delivered a brief presentation on the Blue Union’s own “Everton prospectus”. Simon, secretary of The Blue Union, explained that having looked at the attempt the club had made in producing a sale prospectus The Blue Union believed that they could deliver a much more professional version and highlights of this were displayed for the audience.

John Harrison, The Blue Union’s fans liaison officer, also gave a brief presentation on the club’s all too apparent lack of a genuine and cohesive communication policy with the fans, which is a constituent part of UEFA’s licensing platform.

John heavily criticised the cosmetic attempts that have been made by Everton to comply with this regulation; attempts such as the clearly artificial fan’s forum that is, despite numerous suggestions by The Blue Union, largely anonymous, unapproachable and essentially impotent as a medium for addressing the major problems that fans, and ordinary shareholders, are experiencing; namely the increasing unaccountability of the present board which initiated the fight back from The Blue Union who endeavour to expose the truth over the actions of this board that we are having to endure; a board that has decimated the business and whose actions are now being made apparent on the field of play.

The meeting was then thrown open to the fans. Whilst some expressed their frustration at the board many spoke passionately and offered a variety of suggestions for The Blue Union to consider and following a lengthy meeting, the following evening, we have now agreed upon our strategy for the coming weeks.

In deciding this strategy The Blue Union officers need to consider peoples safety and well being. They also need to comply with many rules and regulations and we have a need to consult with Merseyside Police and the City Council, as it is imperative that all our organised activities are peaceful, legal and, importantly, repeatable. Our campaign isn’t spontaneous; it’s well planned, deliberate and is designed to achieve our objectives.

Lots of positive suggestions came from the floor.
Whilst it was felt by those at the recent meeting that a protest at the Manchester City match on Tuesday 31st January was desirable, it is, after consulting with Merseyside Police, unfortunately impossible due to operational difficulties.

However, The Blue Union have agreed on a plan of action which is designed to bring maximum media attention to our cause and give the supporters the opportunity to vent their frustrations at the intransigence of a board that refuses to listen to an ever growing number of their fans.

In addition to the Blue Union’s ongoing behind the scenes activities, we plan to conduct a mass leaflet campaign at the Chelsea match on February 11th and demonstrate outside Radio City on the same day as we are vehemently opposed to their policy of refusing to allow Graeme Sharp to accept calls from fans wishing to discuss The Blue Union.

Our main focus will be on delivering a spectacular “Day of Protest” in and around Goodison Park at the Spurs game on 10th March 2012. The day’s activities will include an aerial protest before the game, a mass demonstration outside the ground, leafleting matchgoing Evertonians and picketing strategic points before and after the game. The day’s activities will be filmed and transmitted live over the Internet and the whole event will be preceded by a conventional media and an Internet social media campaign to highlight the reasons behind the day’s events and bring attention to the individual director’s performances whilst running OUR club.

Organising events such as this take time and effort and we are grateful for all those who have offered to help the campaign following our recent meeting; we need more. These activities take time to arrange and are expensive; so in order to cover the cost we shall be organising a fundraising event and details will be passed to all our supporters. We need your help and together we can make a difference.

We are determined to be the vehicle for our supporter’s frustrations, but in doing so we will always endeavour to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of all Everton supporters and as ever we will only advocate peaceful activities with the prerequisite that they are at all times within the law.

The Blue Union

Believable1 Unbelievable2

I support the motives, but find this a bit pompous - "Blue Union Officers " for God's sake !

I am not convinced the BU will attract enough support for a spectacular day of action.

This sort of publicity stunt will backfire without widespread support. They need to build a more solid consenus with the supporters first.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree mate. also, if you were someone looking to invest in football club what would you think about the blue union?

I'd be extremely worried! Are they going to disband if we did get a billionaire or keep going? I am on the fence about them because I don't think they will step down even if they did somehow trigger a change in the clubs ownership

Everton are closing in on former-Tottenham misfit Mounir El Hamdaoui, according to reports in Holland.
The Moroccan has fallen out of favour at Ajax after an argument with manager Frank De Boer and is yet to appear for the Eredivisie giants this season.
Birmingham were hoping to seal a deal for El Hamdaoui, while Fulham manager Martin Jol has also been linked with a move for the striker he signed while in charge at Spurs and Ajax.
But Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf claims it is Everton who are now most likely to land him before the transfer window shuts - although there is also interest from Spain, Italy and France.
It is understood that the 27-year-old would join David Moyes' side on a loan deal until the end of the season when the manager could buy him for an agreed £5m fee.
The Everton manager has been scouring the market for striking reinforcements with his side currently the second-lowest scorers in the Premier League after bottom club Wigan

* FELLAINI WATCH *

I will be keeping a close eye on Fellaini tonight and ask his supporters to do likewise - not just when he's heading it or got it at his feet - but for the other 87 minutes as well when he's not on the ball - is he keeping up with play, is he closing down opposition, is he making himself available for a pass from his teammates who are looking to get rid of the ball when they are being closed down?

For me he's not doing enough, but interested to hear what others think.

(and yeah, he'lll probably get a hattrick now - great, I hope he does - but I think we need to keep an eye on this guy to see if he's doing enough week in week out - I personally think he could be our main problem as centre mids are probably the most important players on the pitch and they/he dictates your style of play)

Hi am working away so can't go the game tonight does anyone no if ye can get a good stream on Internet because it's on fox sports? Thanks {Ed025's Note - try vipbox mate..

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Eplsite = type in on google :)

toffee haz {Ed007's Note - Try this:

1. Install the browser Google Chrome.

2. Look in the top right (your right) corner and you will see a spanner.

3. Click on the spanner and select 'tools'.

4. Click on extensions

5. At the bottom right (as you look at it) you will see 'Get More Extensions >>'. Select this.

6. In the search box type 'Chrome Live Football' and search.

7. Click on Chrome Live Football and then click on install. (it may download to a holding file in the bottom left as you look at it, in which case as soon as it's finished click there, but mostly it will install itself)

8. A small football will then appear in the top right (as you look at it). Click on that, select 'live stream' and reset the clock to GMT and it will list all the live games available all over europe and other places.

You may occasionally need to install other programmes or the link you pick will only work on Explorer (in which case cut and paste the URL into Explorer), but you will always get every EPL match (or any other). Sometimes you will only be able to find it with foreign commentary and sometimes you will get it in English. You'll get about thirty links and you may have to look through a lot of them to get what you want. You will also get most La Liga matches, Greek matches, Italian matches and French matches as well as top matches from South America.

Someone also asked about viruses etc. Google Chrome is actually far more secure than Internet Explorer so the risks are considerably less, but you should have decent virus/spyware programmes and run sweeps regularly as a matter of course.

The quality will also depend on the speed of your internet connection. If you have super-speed and have a modern HD TV, consider connecting your PC to the TV via the PC socket on the side/ back.

We are posting on as many Everton pages as possible, posting this would be much appreciated. Here is a short review of Blue Union meeting. Details will be on twitter soon, if you can attend our positive action (protest) please come along and support our great club.
Thanks

Dave Kelly opened the meeting and thank those Evertonians in attendance, "I would like to thank you all for attending this evening. It's your meeting, it's for you and fellow Evertonians. Together we can win this fight, a fight to rid our Club of the under achievement and mismanagement that has blighted us for a number of years."
He addressed some of the recent developments including Bill Kenwright's assertion that the Blue Union is betraying the club, and the bizarre claim made by BU opponents that protesting is "kopite" behaviour and must therefore be condemned.

One suggestion that met with significant support was for the Blue Union to take their protest inside Goodison Park. There was also a suggestion to put pressure on the existing Board members, such as Robert Earl, who is worth £290M but has not provided any investment to the club, only paying Paul Gregg for his shareholding.

And there was strong support for a demonstration outside the directors entrance before the Manchester City game next Tuesday.

The meeting finished with a unanimous decision for further and more consistent positive action (protest) starting at the earliest opportunity. The Blue Union will be consulting with Merseyside Police as early as tomorrow.

Well done blue union

Get behind the players first. Protest afterwards if you must. Moyes has already expressed his disgust at the way Steve Kean has been treated by fans this season and only yesterday said he takes the blame for the fans anxiety.
We lose Moyes and we lose our club.
Be Warned!

Blue union should be ashamed of your self get behind club on match days protests are not going to get u what u want back your wonderful club

Moyes is the best thing that happened to Everton for a long time. I know he hasnt been at his best this season but how long would you be able to take trying to improve a business when the owners wont put any money into that business and are expecting you to keep the business running on buttons, what would you do? Probably walk!, but moyes hasnt so give him some credit at least hes still here trying to resolve some of the mess that is Everton at the moment

I have copied and pasted this to this site, Interesting read from Jamie on Toffeeweb

As I understand it, the bumper 5-year deal signed by our manager David Moyes in 2008 will expire in approximately 18 months time.

Never before have I seen the Goodison faithful so divided in their view of the man who dragged us from the depths of despair and the threat of relegation, and made us into a respectable side with 7 top 8 finishes in 9 seasons.

Sadly, the fact is that, unless something changes very soon, this current season will be remembered no more fondly than any season in the late 1990s when we were under the guidance of Walter Smith. In fact, if our current goals-per-game ratio is carried through to the end of the season, we would end up with less than 40 goals, which is something that didn’t ever happen under dear old Walter.

This is a massive shame for us who pay our good money to watch us stink the place out week in week out – and it is a shame for David Moyes who is in danger of going from zero to hero and then back down to zero again during the tail end of his reign at the club.

I will always be grateful to Moyes for turning the fortunes of our club around, and truly believe that as things stand today, he should go down in our history as the man who stopped the rot, and as such should be remembered fondly.

It is also a massive shame that he has had to “endure” being boss of our club during a period where it has been so poorly managed off the field. The result of this is that we will never know if he could have kicked on and won us a trophy if he had been given the level of financial backing that we have seen at the other top 6 or 7 clubs in the land.

The sad facts are though, that we do not have the money to compete with the big boys in the transfer market, and we are currently playing some of the worst football Goodison Park has ever seen, and now the results just don’t seem to be coming either.

What I’m interested in, is whether anyone out there thinks that Moyes should be given an extension to his contract to keep him at the club beyond 2013?

The majority of the pro-Moyes among us cite a lack of money as the main reason why we can’t play decent football anymore. Well Davey boy is currently “earning” around £3.5million per year. That is a hell of a lot of money to be draining from a club that can ill afford it.

Even those who still think Moyes is the best (and we can’t possibly do any better because we can’t afford good players), must concede that paying him £3.5m a year to manage our squad is therefore akin to paying Sebastian Vettel millions of pounds to drive my clapped out Mazda in a formula one race. Wouldn’t you do better spending more money on developing a decent car, and paying an up and coming talent to drive it for significantly less money?

The way I see, there are four options open to us at this point in time:

1.Sack Moyes now.
I don’t think we could afford to pay off the remainder of his contract even if his pal BK wanted to get rid. Simply not going to happen.

2. David Moyes resigns.
Who in their right mind would walk out on a job that pays millions and expects very little success in return? Very unlikely to happen although not completely out of the question given his current miserable demeanour.

3. We wait for his current contract to expire, say thank you and goodbye.
Surely the most logical and likely of the options? Hopefully in that time Moyes will have steered us clear of any threat of relegation and can still step aside and have the majority of his career at the club remembered with a modicum of positivity.

4. We extend his contract another 3 – 5 years
Insanity surely? Can we afford it financially? Do current performances warrant it? I would be very interested to hear someone’s argument for doing this.

So is there anyone out there who could justify committing ourselves to another 5 years, and pay Moyes another £17.5m over that period, for him to continue to coach us to play crap football?

If the current board stays moyes will go anyway bot in the unlikely event of a takeover I for one thihks moyes deserves at least 4 transfer windows off spending a few bob .his hands have been tied to say the least n like everyone seems to be drained by the current regime

In moyes I trust who else would you have

Interesting there watching SSN. David Moyes getting interviewed, when asked "Is the Bilyaletdinov deal sealed now"?
Moyes says " I have no idea, I think so, as far as I know he has gone, I think he went to Russia for a medical yesturday so i would i imagine the deal has been completed now"
Errrrmmmmmmmmmmmmmm i thought Moyes has always said deals with player's coming and going are his decision and his decision only ??
He seems to have no idea about this one !??
