agree howard has come in for stick, and yes he had a good game yesterday. but even your good self has to agree his best days are behind him. we all had to stop plying at some point. as for boo boys they are not worth worrying about.

Howard made one good save, caught a few ball, but hell, the money he is on, it's surley the minimum we have a right to expect. Those now comeing to his defence seem to have conveneniently forgoten that he has been a major liability all season, and most of lasts. Not only is he induvidually responsible for a large number of goals, his flapping and refusal to come for crosses in the six yard box, drain the confidence of the whole defence, in short, he has to be replaced, ASAP.

Not just Tim but the defence as a whole seem to have a frailty from corners, free kicks and the long ball into the box. Our attacking ability is one of the best in the Premiership albeit with the amount of possession we have and the chances created the conversion rate could be a lot better. Roberto is undoubtedly a good coach but needs to cut out the rhetoric (we must do better defensively etc) and take a more rounded view of his Squad. I am looking forward to todays game, Stoke are a good test to see if 'the best Squad, Everton have had for a while' are as good at home as we are away. Last game of the year, so let's give em the send off and encouragement they deserve.

Shame you didn't think my post worthy of a mention yesterday but I will reiterate it today. How silent those of you are wo have abused Tim Howard recently. Him an EFC Keeper that has been praised by our own Big Nev before now. He has served EFC brilliantly over the years and while I personally feel he is coming to the end of his career with us, the abuse he has received is way unnecessary and quite vile. Yesterday he was calm and proffessional claiming many crosses in what was awful conditions for a keeper, not to mention he saved us with a Star Jump too. Eeerily silence from you vile lot, while he isn't going to be dropped other than Cup games you should be supporting him not putting pressure on him (which yesterday he proved he is beyond being viley abused and got on with his game brilliantly) Apologies please or at least a pat on the back from him. a tumbleweed crosses my screen again. all yerselves bluenoses, should be ashamed of yerselves.

Nicely put blue he done well yesterday and yes his time is comin to an end but abuse bin a little over the top for me don't expect anything different from boo boys on here tbh I'm sure swan will have something to say on this topic Howard to blame for 90% of goals let in this season :)

Where is the abuse! You must honestly believe that your opinion is the only one that counts. Comments at the game yesterday and afterwards from TV pundits where generally positive about Tim Howard but in recent weeks it is 'my opinion' that Tim has been hesitant and made basic mistakes that have cost us points. Comments again yesterday on the Team both at the game and afterwards by TV commentators. Everton are a lovely team to watch and play some good stuff but need to score more, their defence is also subject to frailty. We played really well yesterday and once again had the majority of the possession and were indeed a joy to watch, underneath it all though couldn't help feeling that we would get undone once again. Maybe as Mr Martinez said this will now give us the impetus to kick on. Please respect other peoples opinions as they respect yours. Belated Merry Christmas.

Wot like you just respected mine lol I'll respect peoples comments but not people like yourself who constantly put the team and management down at every chance ye get.

Cobyone, pardon? Maybe a mix up on both our parts here, but I was replying to Howie. But of course I respect all opinions after all isn't that what discussion and comment is all about.

27 Dec 2015 12:56:27
I haven't seen any vile abuse just peoples opinions of how he is weak at commanding his box and how he is hesitant at coming for crosses. And yes yesterday he made a good save (his job btw) and claimed a few crosses and on one occasion actually threw the ball to start a counter rather than roll it to Stones. Sorry one half decent game doesn't make a season, let's see how he copes against better sides who will pepper the box with crosses. Stoke on Monday.

I also do not put the Team or Management down, when the Team play well I say so. As far as Roberto is concerned I have been consistent in my criticism of him as a 'Manager', if you read properly I have never denied he is a good coach which is different from being a good Manager. What this talented group of players need is good coaching (which no doubt we have in certain positions) and good coaching requires Management. Roberto is not a good Manager and there is nothing in his CV to deny that.

Excellent point duncansmum, RESPECT, something that has been lacking in the critisism of TH. If you read my post properly you will have noticed I said that I think his days are numbered, but its the vile abuse he's had that annoys me and indeed Cobyone, its been there for all to see. Why you come out with the statement of my opinion is the only one that counts is beyond me, it was a opinion of bluenoses who abuse players when they are players who have given their all to the club, its not right and not deserved, critisise by all means but abuse, not on.

All of you good people who are saying he hasn't got any abuse, must have your heads in the sand!

27 Dec 2015 13:33:51
Duncansmum you have no reason to be explaining yourself. I have criticized Howard in the past few months. I NEVER gave him abuse. A post of mine in the 'other posts' page clearly states 'I will support whatever team is put to the field. I am an Everton supporter. The team and supporting the team are more important than my own opinions'

It is there for anyone to see and was posted days ago. Your welcome to check it Howie, Cobyone or anyone.

So Howie who exactly gave or is giving Howard abuse. I praised Howard within the last couple of weeks. Not sure what game that one was. He does have some good games this season.

I have also said he was a good servant to Everton. Don't think anyone can deny that.

Yesterdays game he did play well. At the same time. Newcastle had one shot on target and it was straight at Howard. Not giving Howard 'abuse' just giving realistic review of the game. As I said he played well.

Tumbleweed comment is a bit funny? Is that because no one is giving Howard 'abuse' because he played a fantastic game yesterday?

Howie or Cobyone who exactly gave Howard abuse? What abusive comments were said? I'd love to know. I read this website every day and I haven't seen major abuse towards Howard.

Swan maybe a little bit went over the top in taking the piss of him. But I would definitely not say he gave Howard abuse.

I'm sure there are players you Howie and Cobyone don't rate at Everton or think someone else should be playing in their place. Doesn't mean you give them abuse.

I have been a Howard critic for a while now, however prior to the last 18 months Howard was a very good servant to our great club, however he is not up to it now. When I played Aussie Rules football and getting paid in my heyday, I was a very good footballer, however by the age of 32 I knew my days were numbered and even though the club wanted me to keep playing I couldn't perform to the level of previous years and retired. When your time is up your time is up. Ps I can't remember the last time anyone abused Howard on this site either.

Well i'm glad to hear your not one and I never said everyone, I mentioned those bluenoses who have abused him, the ammount he has blocked on his account is apparently testament to that. I critisise players to the hilt, Lukaku early on in the Season being one, but I never abuse them. The fact that both I and cobyone have seen the abuse should be enough, ven if it was only me that's seen it, should be enough, i'm not going to make it up, am i? Swam is a pisstaker and always has been, Osman particularly having that accolade before TH.
It very rarely appears on here as the Eds don't allow it or they change the wordage, i'm talking about other social media and matchday abuse, its horrendous what is being said about him. So as I said before i'm not labeling all Bluenoses but a lot who I've seen written and heard, i'm currently in a heated debate with a bluenose on twitter who thinks he has every right as a fan to abuse TH, and doesn't see the need to apologise for his actions. Thanks for the reply.

Sorry Howie is this the same Big Nev that has done nothing but criticise Tim recently.

I'm against abusing any player personally as I've said a lot during my rants about our home fans, I've never gave Tim personal abuse on social media. I can also confirm I have never had a post removed or "wordage changed" about Tim. Based on the way your post is it looks aimed at me when talking about words being changed and posts being deleted. I'm disgusted when I see someone talk crap to any of our players be it Howard, Lukaku or Oviedo. I've posted about a dozen posts were I have heavily defended players saying it doesn't matter how bad they are, they don't deserve vile things said to them on social media or at the match.

If you are saying my posts always get changed or deleted because I give vile abuse about Tim Howard then you are mistaken. Every Everton player on social media bar Ross get personal stick all the time from our fans, Cahill and Neville still get it. It's sickening.

Unfortunately Howie, that is the darker side of social media. People can hide behind their screen and tap away at the keyboard and call people all sorts without having to show their face. I haven't really seen too much vile abuse on here but there is a few posters that don't like him! You're right about one thing that I thought was directed towards posters on this site though, they do go a bit quiet if TH has had a decent game! Either that or they pick out one mistake that didn't lead to anything.
Hope you all had a good xmas people.

{Ed001's Note - it is why we have editors check posts prior to posting. A guy on the Man Utd site was just talking about how Phil Jones had posted up about the sad news of a little girl he had visited in hospital dying on Twitter and the thread was just filled with people abusing him. It is a sad world we live in and people just can't be trusted.}

27 Dec 2015 15:31:22
Why you think its directed at you i'm not sure Swan, I've always got on with our banter with a smile. I have had wordage changed by Eds on here for things like Boll--s etc but never through abuse of a player. I respect anyone critisising a player as I said I have myself countless times, but sadly there are those who do abuse players and your not one, pisstakes sure but never abuse as I said before.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Dec 2015 15:35:44
Swan I don't think Howie was directing it at you. As he said its different social media sites he's talking about, not this one. In that case I have to agree with him. Some people have problems.

It's more of a reflection of the people that are making the abuse rather than what they are saying.

That's unreal Ed. I dread the future for mankind. I know that sounds very serious but its unbelievable some of the sh*te that people come out with for no reason. No respect and as I said something within themselves that is the problem. Nothing else.

It's a sad reflection of what society has become Ed001, how or why some feel the need to put others down in order to make themselves feel better. Can't stand bullies.

So true Ed. Eh, spudv I have to admit, no I don't think I've seen a potato ninja before! My line of work is not based on a computer. Although that will change big time for me come April.

Prob see everything going on the net then. I have to say I rather my picture of Big Dunc giving the salute! Absolute legend that man. My fav player of all time. True blue.

To be fair Howie the reason perhaps some of us felt our noses out of joint was that in your original post you did not make clear you were talking about all Social Media such as Twitter etc! in my case I wouldn't know a good Twit from a bad one. Think enough said on the subject. Now can I get back to criticism now that the Christmas rush is over. ;-)

I've criticised Howard a few times this season and stand by what I said. He done well to deal with Newcastle targeting his back post every chance they had to cross the ball. At last he came off his line to collect crosses.

This makes me ask the question why hasn't he been doing it every game!? He is our weakest link this season and that's why McLaren had all crosses directed at him. We need to replace Howard asap as he is costing us too many points.

Played well yesterday. 1 good save which kept us in the game, done the basics which he has failed to do recently. no player should be abused whilst wearing our shirt. so think a bit of preasure for his place would help. We need to think for the future though if investnent arrives all tge better.
