i dont know about you but i think drenthe is becoming a liability when baines or hibbert yes hibbert overlap him his rediculuous step overs resulting with him losing the ball in dangerous areas are going to cost us dearly soon he has great pace why not just knock it past the man and go he also has a great shot why not play him as the second striker at least he will shoot unlike are stagnant midfield i can see us on the end of a big defeat soon as boring arse moyes is content with his 8 year 4-5-1 formation you have got to have support for your striker to make it work our striker hides on the touchline for 65 mins until hes hauled off just watched spurs on sky will be s**tting myself jan 11th when we defend against them with our outdated 4-5-1 oh i forgot we will have landon back but no pienaar, arteta, to give him the ball {Ed025's Note - i know drenthe is weak defensively...but hes the one player at the moment who can make things happen!...most of them bore me to tears, and at least if he loses the ball, we have got 10 defenders to win it back..

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Osborne makes things happen he kicks grass and bangs the ground {Ed025's Note - hmmmm...osborne.....is that the black sabbath guy who eats bats?..

Agree3 Disagree0

I am the poster ed sorry its blue al i agree hes the only one who does something different but he should stop farting around because do you think mourinho saw the same thing and got shut he had ronaldo doing stepovers and doing the buisness and drenthe doing stepovers and leaving madrid in the s**t as they attack with wing backs and pile forward {Ed025's Note - the thing is al...he is the only bit of flair we have, if he was good defensively, he would still be at real madrid!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed id rather have ossie osbourne than saha even as ossie is now hes probably more mobile than lazy louis {Ed025's Note - lmao..

Agree1 Disagree0

I agree ed. Drenthe, Baines and Osman are the only players we have doing anything up front. I would sign Drenthe in a heart beat if we got the chance. If he cut out the step overs i think he would be great!

Everton Al. {Ed025's Note - i think he will sign al, and learn that giving the ball away cheaply is frowned upon...but he is young, and new to the EPL he has plenty of time to learn..

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope your right ed! I would love to sign him but for some reason I don't think we will. I really hope we do though. Where do u think Landon will fit in. I would quite like to see Landon on the left, Ozzy on the right and Drenthe in more of a central position, maybe behind a striker. I think this would be a lot more of an attacking team. Your thoughts guys?

Everton Al. {Ed025's Note - im with you on that one al, it would be nice if lukaku could be on the end of that..

have to dissagree with the moyes is negative talk, lets face it our midfield is not strong enough when we play 5 never mind 4, we are too light and get outbattled most of the time, now everybody calls for 4 4 2 but whenever we have started vellios he hasnt performed and dennis has only had 1 decent performance (second half sub) so the only striker that leaves us with is saha (who at the moment is truly awfull) and cahill who isnt a striker but we rely on to score goals even tho he is past his best. everybody thinks we lost allour creativity when arteta left but in all honesty he hadnt performed well for us in almost 2 years, if moyes had a bright spark in midfield (hopefully barkley) and 2 quality strikers who can score goals im sure we would play 442 attacking football every week

Moyes reaction to the dodgy penalty was maybe not the best he's ever done... he's trying to be honest but . . .

Moyes said: “I did, yes, but I’ve had the chance to see it again. I don’t think it’s a penalty kick – well, it’s not a penalty kick.

“It’s a terrible decision by the referee. It wasn’t a penalty kick and Martin should feel hard done by.”

he maybe should not have condemned the ref in such a way (we'll have Webb ref us again many times) he could maybe have said - "Yes, it looks like a mistake - but from where Webb was standing it probably did look as if the defender must have just clipped Ossie's leg a fraction in order to make him fall / stub his shot in that way - it's a difficult job being a ref etc" but just blabbing that it was a 'terrible decision' is probably not going to do us any favours with Webby next time he refs us.

harry to sell piennar and kranjar
maybe we could have them both

www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/transfer-news/Tottenham-transfer-gossip-Stephen-Pienaar-and-Niko-Kranjcar-available-for-moves-to-create-funds-for-signings-article846590.html

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Does pienaar realise he had a great combination with baines?

would we want him back? - could he face coming back?

Agree1 Disagree0

Pienaar will not be coming back, he moved to spurs because he wanted to live in London, simple, no condpirecey, no lacking loyalty. A lot of people on here forget that most moves are engineered by players/agents these days. Don't forget players and managers are humans with their own character traits! I.e. moyes will not change his formation or listen to opinion because he is stubborn, focused and generally one track minded, fact, not rumour so just get used to it!

the first half of this season for everton has been very poor, reckon there have been 2 or 3 decent perfomances ,fed up of us putting crosses in and seeing saha standing on the edge of the box. we need some pace upfront and the squad needs improving alot. the only good thing is the premiership is very poor with maybe 5 or 6 good teams the rest are awful. will moysie have money to spend in the transfer window ? i doubt it

The Neville Heitinga duet is one of the most depressing facets of Everton FC. Both are solid defensively, but in this day and age you cannot rely solely on intercepting.

Here are some Johnny Heitinga Facts

1. Has more caps for his country than I can understand - and on that note, Netherlands are a good team right? so how does a bit part centre half type player who cant get a game for a struggling team in another league get a game, its like England playing a centre half who warms the bench for FC Utrecht

2. He picks up the ball more times from interceptions and tackles than from his own team mates. The first part sounds impressive, but as a DM you surely should be giving and going, providing an option.

3. He disappears. Anyone who plays knows this can happen at times, but for a premier league player?. In his mind he must be worried about his first touch and so runs away to make an intereception (you can't hash up your'e first touch from an interception). invariably his second touch is a tackle.

4. On the break, he waits and takes a dreadful amount of time. Now I think a few of the boys are guilty of this. Man U, Arsenal they kill you on the break. Johnny likes to stop and get Tim Howard involved in the break moves, I think we would be more potent on the break if we keep the goalkeeper out of it.

5. And this point was evident on Monday. He hoofs, and I know Jags does it too, although this is were Marouane shows a bit more class. Heitinga again panics, and wellies it somewhere between somewhere and nowhere. Not going to strike fear into the opponent, and certainly frustrating to watch. 'Time and a place' springs to mind.

6. I think this point is stressing that Phil Neville does it too. Now it sounds like a rant, indeed it is, I could never hope to play football at the level of these chaps, but I think we need to get Johnny and Phil out of midfield and pray they don't influence barkley rodwell into this sort of negative play - they are both strong and good characters around the club especially phil, but creative midfielders. No

Cmon moyes, lets get Landon, Roysten, Jack, Marouane, Ross and another more bright presence in the team. And after that maybe there is room for a dour DM, but at the moment, please no no no.

5 years ago we were on on the up if we got the new stadium everton would of been flying a buyer would of snapped us up, been to most matches i could this year we create alot but r best attacking plyer is baines a left back, if we dont get bought soon we will end up selling rodwell, felliani and baines and dropping out the league its sad but true

Hi fellow blues! Yesterdays performance was poor even if the result was ok. I still think we should be wiping the floor with teams like Sunderland but who am I to say anything. I too think moyes plays it safe. If we want to rescue our season we need to pull our fingers out and risk a few results to get some wins! I would rather lose more matches and win more than draw the majority. What do you all think?

Everton Al. {Ed025's Note - i think your right al...the entertainment value is very poor, what we must remember is that we have had our fair share of luck..when you look back at the fulham, blackburn, and sunderland games, we got 7 points that were hardly deserved, if you took them off, we would be in the mire! i am just saying that the way we are playing we are on par with the poorer teams in the league..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree ed. We are doing ok considering we are playing so poorly. I have got to say, I didn't think we would be 10th a month or so ago. We need to sort ourselves out before our luck runs out. Davie needs to have a sit down and a serious think about his tactics. We do need a striker but I think the team we have can be played a lot more offensively than we are at the moment. I would play Osman and Drenthe as the left and right wingers, felli as a holding mid, barkley or rodwell pushing up with dennis just behind vellios. I think this would give us a much more attacking line up with at least 5 players who can score goals. Your thoughts ed?

Everton Al.

Wiping the floor with teams like sunderland? who do you think you are?your living in the kendall days and hes from the north east {Ed025's Note - no disrespect intended mate...but we are a far bigger club than you can ever aspire to be!..

unless if moyes gets funds for January even if its only 5 million i could see moyes leaving there is only a certain amount of patience that anyone has got and mine is wearing thin, as much as i love Everton i see no investment for us until we pay of all the debt and win something sorry to be negative but its the way i feel

Im absolutely gobsmacked that moyes played jonny and neville in midfield yesterday, what exactly was he trying to achieve with that, the whole team was set up to defend...umm were we against man u, chelsea for these negative tactics, oh no it was sunderland, do me a favour, so moyes was playing for a point against another crap team away from home, yet another game were their keeper had nothing to do, its a game of russian roulette with moyes , i think hes trying to get to an hour in games level and then nick it 1-0, but its not working, how boring can you be....I felt sorry for our bench yesterday....with the tactics and formation yesterday and personel on the pitch they must wander how do they ever get a game...its just awful, I watch alot of football and i honestly believe we are the most boring negative team in the premiership....If we dont get a few good signings in JAN then moyes will have to go, this cannot go on any longer. We are one of the lowest scorers in the prem, he has to bring in some attacking players or we may aswell go and watch 5 cricket tests between bangladesh and zimbabwe cos i think that would be more exciting than what dithery dave is serving us this season.

i have a great investment idea for our club, if every evertonian buys a euro millions lottery ticket and we all pick a different combo of numbers then one of us is bound to win, then who ever wins give all the money to david moyes (not bill because he will keep it) and then moyes can buy top class players :D what do ya thin ed?

lads and you ed025. your all just as negative as moysie! haha. yesturday wasn't 'pathetic' like some are saying on here. we started off the better side and had a couple of chances (and we were AWAY to a side that are high on confidence with 2 wins out of 3 and a new manager and boosted by an away win at qpr) then we concede against the run of play! we got back into it with a very lucky pen decision and after that defended well against the home side. tim howard didnt make a save just a couple of catches and we might of won it at the end with osman and then distin. by the way all this talk about throwing vellios, denis and barkley in from the start, it would be mad to start 3 inexperienced players in from the start. i agree barkley is good enough so needs more games but start all 3? no way! be positive lads. look at this way, we are 10th at the end of the year, i think most of us wud of took that with the way the season started! if we can get a striker and a creative player in i think we wil push for top 7 {Ed025's Note - i love your optimism mate..

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Well sed mate, get behind the blues, tbh i think moyes picked a fairly attacking side yesterday compared to what i thought he would pick! COYB!!!!!!!!!

Agree2 Disagree2

Totally disagree with you! I think starting vellious and denis over cahill and saha will vastly improve our chances of scoring! Not to mention giving everybody a lift as it shows an intent to win instead of just avoiding defeat! Saha doesnt chase down the ball or hasstle defenders and allows them time to play the ball out of there half ! Vellious and denis do chase the ball andut the defenders under pressure which forces them to clear the ball aimlessly or make a mistake, both cahill and saha are pretty slow! Vellious is quite quick, saha and cahill have not scored for a while, vellious has and he has scored more than both of them! Denis hasnt scored but puts himself about alot more than saha!
So how can starting them 2 be any worse than what

Agree3 Disagree3

Moyes formation six defenders 3 midfielders 1 up front.....ossie on the right thats a joke.sunderland were crap ass well ..will give the gaffer a bit of credit coz he had no defenders on the bench when sh.tus shambles went off moysie should av brought dennis or ross and went for it.........gandolph

We need a right back desperately - Corluka is a must - sell Billy and get him in. {Ed025's Note - the priority must be a striker mate..

Believable2 Unbelievable1

We don't, Hibbert has had a great season so far..

Have a look at the left side to see what we need for our right. More skill, someone who can cross the ball in and finally someone who can pass the ball without flapping.

Kenwright has been consistent, yes consistent in lying to all the fans, again n again !
If I remember in October a statement came out from the club, stating potential investment and money come the January window. All of our best players have been sold and looks like this is going to continue with the sale of Jack Rodwell too, the bank wants its loan/s paid back, it's soul destroying but the way things are going Everton Football Club will slip slide like Leeds United/Birmingham/Portsmouth and the person to blame yet again is our poor board (bunch of liars) promises promises season after season, greedy Kenwright, you have killed the club because of your damn right greediness, looks like Rodwell will leave in Jan, but hey ho the disguise of getting Landon in will cushion these issues for Bill, got too admit you are a great hide and seek champion, that's about it !!
As for Billy, he will stay and be given a proper chance ! Feel really sorry for our fans, we are the best in the world !! {Ed025's Note - i realise your frustration mate, as a club we have gone stale..our fans are so loyal, and i cant think of any others who would put up with what we have, the next month is crucial for us..

Spurs might be looking to sell peanut and krancjar! That would solve our creative midfield problem! Which to me is just as urgent as a new striker! We looked awful yesterday jonny and neville center mid! What was moyes thinking? We had 6 defenders on the pitch! Even when we got lucky and won a penalty (never a pen) moyes didnt think we could go on and win! Kept both jonny and neville on the pitch and just made like for like changes! Should of took off cahill and saha and replaced them with denis and vellious and swapped jonny or neville with barkley! I would of kept drenthe on he lost the ball doing his step overs a few times but he was the only player with attacking intent!
Moyes has to drop cahill and saha now they offer nothing! Saha doesnt close down defenders or chase the ball! Denis and vellious must be watching and thinking " why is this man getting to start every week when he does nothing"
Only positive is we didnt lose! I wabt big changes for the west brom game, we cant have 6 defenders playing! Its about time barkley gets a go, its about time we start with 2 strikers and its about time moyes drops the dead wood and tries to save our season! {Ed025's Note - have you ever thought that the "dead wood"....may in fact be david moyes?..

Ok - so no rodwell or felli - but playing nev and johnny was v defensive - but we got a point so moyes got away with it though, thru pure luck of ref error. Should have been another loss.

It's not the midfield so much though, it's those 2 up front - they're never gonna score - both are finished as far as I can see - moyes needs to get a decent striker but we all know that - but anyone would be better than 2 guys who never score or look like scoring - you need some pace to score goals most of the time - to get that extra yard away from defender - Cahill n Saha have no pace now - never gonna score.

Moyes is married to Cahill though - and after their mid week row moyes has crawled back and made it all up again - so he obviously doesn't fancy a divorce.
Groan. {Ed025's Note - we all know we need a striker, well more than one actually, its now got to the stage where we dont look like scoring. we got away with it yesterday, but we cant just keep riding our luck, for me the transfer window is crucial, and may well decide moyes,s fate at the club..

This is copied and pasted from the SkySports website:
Everton are ready to move for AEK Athens star Kostas Manolas, skysports.com understands.

But it is also believed that Everton are not the only Premier League side keen on landing the young defender.

David Moyes is looking to bolster his squad in January, with all areas of his squad under consideration.

Now with Sylvain Distin looking unlikely to sign a new deal, which could very well result in him being sold in the New Year - Moyes is considering options.

And his attention has been drawn to 20-year-old Manolas, who is earning rave reviews in Greece.

The Toffees are no strangers to the Greek market, having plucked Apostolos Vellios from Iraklis almost 12 months ago.

Now Everton are lining up a deal for Manolas - but they are not alone in checking on the highly-rated young stopper.

Blackburn, Newcastle, Wigan and West Ham are also thought to be keen on Manolas - who has been called up to Greece's senior squad.

I have also heard that Everton are ready to spend money in January-with Blackburn centreback Christopher Samba at the top of David Moyes' shopping list. From what i've heard, he could be available for £9 million.
I know what ye are all thinking, why are we going for centrebacks when we need a striker, and i'm thinking that too, but we all look on the bright side, first off, Samba is a brilliant defender, and i've heard that Distin is reluctant to sign a new contract, so Samba is the perfect replacement. Secondly, this Manolas sounds like he i going to be a big star in the future, and he is also said to be very good. I would much prefer if we got him than someone like Blackburn or Newcastle. They would both be great signings and i would definetly welcome them. What do you think Ed?

Breeno {Ed025's Note - in my opinion breeno, manolas and samba are both good players, and would be good additions to the squad..but if we are spending money, it must be on a striker and a creative midfielder, its all about priorities mate..
