All these posts about Deulofeu and Barcelona are entertaining in their own way - this is a "banter" website after all - but does anyone of the posters (even the Eds who comment) know EXACTLY what the wording of the contract is? Besides, imho the contract is a private matter between the clubs and the player and his representatives. If all parties wanted to make the details public - in part to address speculation like RM has tried to do - then perhaps that'd be acceptable, but for now let's enjoy the fact that the player is performing well and appears settled here. Whatever happens going forward, all of the parties agreed and signed a contract and matters will take their course. Supporters fretting about what might happen and when is understandable I guess, but better imho to enjoy the matches and see what can be delivered on the field. There are plenty of issues surrounding our club - funding for a new stadium, players coming or going, the health of BK - that posters are speculating on, but I doubt if any of our posters (or Eds) has the exact facts on every such issue. I'll still enjoy the craic - even the acerbic comments from the Eds - and realise that we (the posters) are just fans who want the best for our club and are wound up (all too easily! ) by stories, rumours, comments by pundits, etc., that we perceive as detrimental or dispectful to our club.
Sermon over ;-)

Just a thought but what if at least 3 times a season say the refs from the top flight in England and the refs from the top flights in other European country's all did a round of matches in another league say for example The premier league officials does the German top flight and they in return do the Premier league for a round of matches now I know they do European matches but I think it would be refreshing for the leagues, clubs, players, and the officials themselves just a thought what do u guys think.

{Ed025's Note - i like the sound of that stef..

{Ed025's Note - i dont see why it could not happen stef, it would give all refs a regular insight into other cultures mate..

Interesting post. I'd be concerned that the interpretation of rules would vary. We already see how some plays (e. g. strong but fair tackles) that are allowed in the Premier League are punished in the Champions League or Europa League. As long as the laws of the game are applied consistently, then that's fine imho, but I wonder if they would be by foreign refs in the Premier League. Then there'd be the question about foreign referees taking matches and denying young homegrown referees the fullest opportunity to get top-level experience.
I'm not against the idea - I just am concerned that we get the best refereeing possible and a cornerstone of that is surely a consistency in applying the laws.
I'd quite like there to be a well-funded (there's more than enough money in moden football! ) scheme for fast-tracking aspiring referees (and linesmen) on a full-time basis. It would not only involve frequently refereeing matches (at several levels) , but also working with clubs (e. g. academies) and schools/colleges to explain the laws of the game to youngsters. I also wish that referees were permitted to speak publicly about their performance - especially any contentious decisions. Finally, I'd really like referees to severely punish dissent. I know there are plenty of fans who want players to be in the referee's ear at every decision, but I hate that.

{Ed025's Note - im not a fan of dissent either sid, but reffing other countries games would at least bring some consistency mate, there should be no difference what country its in the rules should be the same..

That's true ed it certainly will, and Dags fire away mate post it on your page it would be interesting to see what people think of this.

Sid I understand your concern mate but I don't think it would stop or hinder any referee coming through the ranks, but what gave me this idea well there is a lot of reasons that gave this idea but one in particular mate is I know the refs in the prem know 90 per cent of the players by name and reputation on the pitch, but it happens mate a player calls a ref by his name and not by his job title during a game and that really annoys me when that happens but it does and it's really unprofessional in my opinion. And I learned that playing Sunday league even though you know the ref you never address him by his birth name.

I think ultimately it is down to the player anyway mate, normally if Barcelona want someone then they go, especially seeing as he is a Spaniard too, ye never know though.

The clause states if they recall him he goes he has no choice, softner for Stones maybe.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - No, you cannot force a player to do such a thing.}

26 Nov 2015 13:09:19
You can if the Clause has been signed by the player like a contract would be.

Don't know if this is the case Ed him signing the clause however him saying he wants to stay with us for a long time can only be good news.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - You are talking absolute nonsense.}

26 Nov 2015 14:23:09
I can guarantee there would of been loads of small print regarding this clause Barcelona ain't daft. If you did your homework ref this (from RM mouth) saying if they trigger it we cannot do a thing about it so far from nonsense you will find.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - I am sorry, your posts about this matter and the player not being able to decide his own future are palpable nonsense. Try and stick to something you understand rather than embarrassing yourself with matters that are clearly well beyond your grasp.}

26 Nov 2015 14:42:40
Lance how do you know what the clause states, no one outside the club has any idea, Bobby has not said anything, there's no way that Del boy would have to go if he didn't want to, pretty sure that would be an illegal clause.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Nov 2015 14:45:14
Lance just read your last post mate, Martinez did state that we could not do anything about it but that's probably only if the player wants to leave, if he doesn't want to go then i'm sure that he wouldn't have to, there will probably be some clause within a clause where we have to pay a bit more if Delboy wants to stay though.

Your right I don't know all i'm saying is that it won't be as clear cut as people think! anyway will say no more on the matter as i'm clearly not clever enough.

What if, what if and what if? If there is a clause (which I assume there is) . and if he becomes so brilliant Barcelona want him back. and they then go for it. if he wants to go back there. and if and if and if. Listen guys if a spaceship comes down or God himself and I get given super powers akin to the Golden Vision, I will play for Everton. if I am 40 years younger! Then you can worry about something!
