I never thought Iwould say this but if things do not improve from now until the end of the season then a certain managers contract is up this summer.

Probably get hammered from pillor to post, but if one manger can pull us out of the rubbish we are in, that said manager is Benetez,

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed0333's Note - at least I have one signature on my Rafa to Everton petition.

26 Jan 2019 22:47:17
Make that at least 2 Ed03333.

When we got rid of Sam I said we should go all out for Benitez. The past is the past and he is a manager and tactician which we don't have. We got some good results at the beginning of the season but now we have been found out because we have no plan b. We need a successful manager who can instill confidence in our side by being respected by the players, Silva doesn't have a successful winning background so the players aren't buying into him, Rafa won a Champions League with Biscan!

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jan 2019 00:59:34
I can never forget about him calling us a small club, but would reluctantly have him, cannot see it with his ties to the other lot.
We might be a crap club right now but we are a big club.

27 Jan 2019 10:12:05
Rafa will never manage Everton.

27 Jan 2019 12:00:47
Rafa defends zonally too?

27 Jan 2019 08:05:17
Ed333 come on lad, thought my name was first on that petition. Second after Benitez for me would be Chris Hughton (spelling) . Moyes was a shout from someone else but I honestly think he is shot now Utd destroyed him.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed0333's Note - I think the bearded fella at wolves would be a good shout also.

26 Jan 2019 21:53:44
Suppose it could be worse. Could got best by league 1 bottom club like west ham did.
Another shambles but i still feel we need to support the club. We don't choose manager or players but we can help by getting behind them and supporting them. Not our decision to sack him or not so support our club.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 Jan 2019 22:26:03
I'm usually all for that pal, but 3 years of expensive failure drains everyone. West Ham also beat Arsenal recently, when did we last beat a top 6 side. Watford fans must be loving what they are a seeing right now? Eds please could you give us an update on the tapping up row? That will make us all feel even more amazing!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of anything since the ban was given.}

Probably still getting paid by them all too. Ironic we’ll have (hopefully) sacked him before we’ve agreed compensation with Watford for tapping him up.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed0333's Note - now that is ironic.

26 Jan 2019 21:31:04
Think it's time for a poll . 1. Sack him now 2 sack him at the end of the season 3 keep him.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

27 Jan 2019 08:13:43
Skylark 1. Definitely. Unsy for final games and see what he can do, meanwhile the Club, Mr Moshri and his advisor can do proper research and scrutiny of a potential new coach.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jan 2019 08:47:43
1. I don't understand why we wanted him in first place. Got relegated at Hull jumped ship at first chance had a good start at Watford and tried to jump ship then mdid rubbish and got. Pushed. Was it him making Watford OK because gracia has done as good as if not better job than silva there.

Get moyes and unsy in. Maybe till end of season. Both love the club more than our current squad combined. (not including Coleman, jags or baines)

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2019 21:00:44
Our midfield was no existent, Gomez no pace and lacks grit and determination, Gueye not the same player anymore, probably looking for a move, Lookman doesn't seem stronge enough for the top flight and Sigurdsson well he just keeps getting worse and worse, Coleman was probably our best player today, for me it was crying out to take Sigurdsson off and replace him with Bernard playing in his position, we are far to slow in the build up maybe play Bernard in the Middle could help change this in the future
Marco is being well let down by his multi millionaire so called top professionals.
Sad day for all Everrtonians especially those loyal away supporters.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 Jan 2019 21:15:30
Lookman good player. Midfield lacks progress because Gomez likes to skeep walk. Yes Bernard No10. Rick stays out left. Tosun on strike, Lookman right. Back is Kenny Mina Keane Digne. In front Gueye Zumai.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2019 21:31:20
Especially the away fan who had his face slashed.

Don’t even think Bernard was on the bench but he definitely should have come in as number 10. One of very few players to show any attacking intent. Silva has no idea how to set the team up or get them fired up. Somehow he’s achieved the perfect balance of being rubbish at the back, rubbish in midfield and rubbish up front.

Anyone going to apologise to us.

27 Jan 2019 01:02:39
I would not believe him if it did apologise, Moshiri should aspologise for chasing after getting a proven failure as manager.

26 Jan 2019 20:45:23
Cenk Tosun showed in half an hour tonight how you should play for your club, scored got booked for being dissent but at least showed some spirit and fight. The rest, they should hang their heads in shame.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

26 Jan 2019 20:59:09
He is a striker, loves the fight. Alardyce took his time with him, got it right. King he did the same against leicester.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2019 21:56:46
Yes he has been a good pro and waited for his opportunity again, but will he be ignored again and give way to DCL?

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2019 22:33:29
I hope not Wakka. DCL looks impressive but after one long ball played up to him he is like Bambi on ice, and we all said Lukaku had no 1st touch, God I miss him.

Moshiri and his cohorts thought they had found a young version of Mourinho who was going to work his magic as he did with Porto - time for Silva to go and time for this once great club to get their act together.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Most posts tonight are fair without to much knee jerk reaction.
However listening today on the radio and looking at the financial position we are in with no money because of the poor player recruitment we have undergone over the past few years points to the board, to many managers to quickly replaced and poor scouting or dof placement.
Tonight we saw a mid table premier club lacking a game plan, and motivation against a struggling lower championship side enjoying a day out in the FA cup with a desire to beat the odds!
We had a strong side out but how can you defend the statistic of 3 yes 3 shots on target in a game with these stats!
Siggy, lookman, DCL, Richarlison as our forward players surely this is not enough!
Same formation failed again, although we dominated the game in possession stats we did F*** all with that!
Defence is a shambles and at this time in the season I see why Barcelona sold Mina! Keane is still poor and the only plus is Zouma!
I want to give the manager a chance but he cannot get the best from this group is lacking motivation and tactics! This is looking like de ja vue 3rd year on the trot!
Best of luck Milwall you showed a lot of heart and deserve it!

Is McCarthy fit? Crying out for him in midfield. A bit of passion and aggression. Dreadful result.

3 ex Barcelona players, 1 future PSG (maybe) , 1 Chelsea CB, 1 England CB, 1 Brazilian International winger and we manage 3 shots on goal against that lot. Time's up for Silva I think, he has to show that he can get something out of these players or he has to go.

Absolutely spot on. I think he’s a mid table prem manager. Not a top six.

Well that was inevitable I'm afraid. This team has no leaders, little confidence and no motivation. Just another season wasted.

Am sorry to say The Ed’s are right Marco Silva is a journeyman and cannot see him lasting very long I am gutted really wanted it to work for him but with no plan b and staying with zonal marking is making his time with Everton be a lot shorter than it should be. Could the no funds in January be a sign? I know the books need balancing. If we do sack him I pray to god that brands picks the manager and not Moshiri.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

26 Jan 2019 20:10:50
Look all the evidence was and is there, went to Hull a team all ready down and in reality his stats were average. Never the less, Watford were persuaded, 6 months later, Evertons fault.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2019 20:13:47
The board made the appointment same as RM, RK and SA unfortunately I agree and think their advic was not good as this is looking like the fourth, and to cap it all we are tied paying extortionate wages to a bunch of players that are also surplus!
Everton FC are in a poor position going forward and have been left in the wake of clubs like Tottenham.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jan 2019 08:59:39
At least with martinez and koeman they had a decent first season. And looked like might be going somewhere. More so martinez. Big Sam was just to get us out of a mess. A mess imo that we would have got out of with unsy anyway. We just spent a lot of money knowing we were sacking Sam at the end of the season regardless. I think should have kept unsy Sam was a knee jerk reaction because moshris advisors just went on past reputation of Sam will get us out of it he always does.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2019 19:48:13
Tough pill to swallow that one - zonal marking really kills us off. Another year without a trophy unfortunately, shame the short cup-run was halted by a struggling Championship side.

Still a very, very long way to go. However, never expectant of a trophy this season. I still remain faithful to the club's ambition/ direction as we are (understandably) very premature under the new regime.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 Jan 2019 19:50:32
I know it's zonal but unmarked 6 yards out center of the goal.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Jan 2019 19:52:12
3 opposition players.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2019 19:58:35
They had more unmarked players on the edge of our six yard box than they had on the rest of the pitch. Who was actually marking anyone?

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2019 20:22:01
That concentrate on a zone not a player. It’s a system that is only really mastered when you have world class players. That why we are pretty crap at it.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2019 20:28:53
We can't zonal mark - we are total rubbish.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2019 19:38:48
Well. I can't say that wasn’t expected or deserved. Credit to Millwall, they played against our weaknesses and, although very fortunate, exposed them ruthlessly.

Positives - Zouma Played very well yet again. Tosun took his goal well and stakes a claim for a start (although I doubt it)

Negatives - clueless, ponderous, gutless, heartless and completely devoid of any visible gameplan. Zonal marking does not work and surely has to change? Pickford needs coaching better?

Yes, it’s a very hard place to go and the pitch/ conditions were awful, but that’s where you need players to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in - Everton didn’t do that. Not one player showed any grit or balls, apart from maybe Digne.

I’m not one for knee jerk sackings and I’ve always been in the ‘give him time’ camp, but this is worrying. I think the board either do something now, before it’s too late, or he needs to able to show that the team is on board with his method. At the moment, there doesn’t seem to be much of that and I wouldn’t be surprised if the board were to pull the trigger now and admit they got it wrong.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

26 Jan 2019 19:45:51
The handball still isn't an excuse. We should be beating teams like that, simple as. We're horrendous and hopefully our fans can stop being blinded by their bias and see we're not better than the rest outside the top 6.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2019 20:00:27
I agree regarding the team being totally underprepared and lacking any gameplan. How do they prepare for set pieces in training though? Its been a theme in our team for years now, no manager we hire seems to be able to coach a centre back to head the ball away. Whether its zonal or not, it should be basic to any centre back, but again we concede three goals to high balls into the box. it really is disgraceful how the manager can't sort this out, its basic defending. Silva really needs to get us up the table, but i think we are heading in the other direction.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2019 19:36:22
One man set his team up to attack the opposition weaknesses and one did not. Oh dear another season of hope over.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

26 Jan 2019 19:36:10
For all you who didn't want Silva and shot him down. Whilst I disagreed and called you all negative. It's fair to say you were right. And I was positive but wrong. If they sack him tomorrow then I wouldn't complain. But as we have had too many managerial changes over the past two seasons I doubt that will happen. So here we are at almost the same point as last season with nothing but 7th to play for. What a waist of yet another season. Ultimately that man is under serious pressure now and rightfully so.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

26 Jan 2019 19:47:52
Same here Toffee Ace. I was all for him and kept saying he’d come good, but it’s time to add another name to the list of sacked managers we’re still paying.

. well it's currently 2-2 and we're playing an average championship side. looks about our level 2 b honest. why are we so """". I'm fed up wiv this season already, if we get knocked out now it's the beginning of the end for Silva as far as I'm concerned! Simply not good enough once again!

26 Jan 2019 19:10:33
Our building up play is so slow it's embarrassing.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

26 Jan 2019 18:27:57
Well taken goal by Richy - albeit via a deflection - but giving stupid free kicks away around the box bites us on the a** again. When the F will they learn. Prior to the goals I'm sure the BBC were wondering why they chose this game. It's been so dull and boring it's more like a mid-season mean nothing Championship game than an FA Cup tie. Millwall will have their tails up second half so we need to play much better if we want to stay in this.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 Jan 2019 19:15:49
What did I say about stupid free kicks! Wtf was Digne thinking? Yes the resulting goal shouldn't have been allowed but that's beside the point. F'ing unbelievable.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Jan 2019 19:37:15
Digne gives away yet another needless free kick and surprise surprise the defence is sh** and we are knocked out of the cup. The whole performance over the 90 minutes was poor and even though stats will say we had the majority of possession it's what you do with it that matters and we did very little.
