Guys does anyone know when Swansea tickets for fa cup are on general sale, when do the club release info. Will the be £5 per child like last season? It's my sons birthday and we don't go much, only twice this season. Would make his day to go.
Which stand would you recommend sitting in? We've been main stand but 2 poles in the way, it was rubbish, and to the game against noriech a few weeks back in top balcony, great view, right next to the exit but one of massive poles were bang slap wallop in front of the park end goal., issued Barry's wonder strike. Cheers for any replies, you probably won't have read to the end of the post haha
RVBlue
I don't know when and how much the tickets will be on sale. If you did go with your son you could go in Family Enclosure or Paddock for a good spec!
Cheers Charlie. I don't really like sitting right on touch line, as you can't see the game from above haha! He's 13 and bringing 3 mates, so they might be ready for gwladys or something hahah! Was thinking upper bullens or top balcony again, just more central
27 Jan 2014 10:24:21
upper bullens is good, just make sure u get in the front 10 rows and u'll be fine with no obstruction.
Thanks to the above poster. His mates made a mockery last year because we sat on wooden seats with a rubbishty view main stand. He got them back cause they support Blackburn rovers :) anywhere with plastic seats and no obstruction is fine!
Im only 12 and this is my 3rd season in the Gwladys! Just love the singing and its a great view to see like.
26 Jan 2014 20:36:49
Thank you Tottenham for that draw! about time we had some good luck .
Sorry mate. Have I missed something?
I'd just like wish Bryan a speedy recovery. I posted a picture in the Everton sightings. Check it out. It says more than I ever could.
{Ed025's Note - it does AL....well done mate..
Great picture EvertonAl and shows how much our players care. They must have been shocked at what they observed.
Oviedo is clearly a popular guy within the squad. you just have to see his posts on twitter to see how much he loves Everton.
Like all Evertonians and true football fans I wish him a speedy recovery and let's make sure we help him keep his chin up throughout his recovery!
26 Jan 2014 20:23:26
Hi Eds
With all the injuries we have are you able to tell us from your sources how far our players are from a return.
I for one am a little worried that our chance for fourth could be scuppered by these injuries.
We have to maintain the faith in Roberto that he kniws what he is doing but I really think we could keep ourselves in the mix until the end of season.
Whether Roberto is doing deals behind scene that press aren't aware of is another matter. We do need to strengthen but at the same time not be held to ransom.
We really do need points out of the Derby game to keep up there with top 4. I just hope like many of us that our faith in the squad will be repaid.
{Ed025's Note - only gibbo, kone and bryan are long term AW, the rest are not far away mate..
26 Jan 2014 20:42:36
Perhaps Bill has asked Lukaku to take his foot off the gas to reduce his price, hope he gets into gear on Tuesday
That's beyond ridiculous. Who would tell a key player to stop performing at a pivotal time in the season which consists of winnable games, just to potentially save a few quid on an unrealistic transfer?
26 Jan 2014 19:40:29
Think I have ever felt so low after an Everton win as I did yesterday. A massive banana skin given our injury list and the cut up pitch and we go and win 4-0 but all I could think about was Bryan. What a true pro he has been for us and how well has he behaved even after leighton came back. I pray he has a quick and pain free recovery and hopes he knows how loved he is by all blues. let's get fourth and lift the cup for him. Love the suggestion to sing oviedo baby on 8 mins in every match, this is why we are such a special club, we r a family COYB
26 Jan 2014 19:42:26
Mcgeady looks like the player to provide Lukaku with the service he needs to get back in the goal routine starting tuesday. Latest news Suares has signed up for a celeb reaility show. No its not big brov its Splash the celeb diving programme. thgfest
26 Jan 2014 18:48:04
Well you can't ask for more than a home draw, but this draw came with bonuses. Think we have a really good chance to go all the way this season. (Mind you I said that last year). Still think we need another quality midfielder to finish off season. Top 4 and cup would be very nice.
26 Jan 2014 17:49:35
Can we have anymore loans?
In a word. no
In a word yes, as long as they are not domestic.
Yes from abroad
Everton are allowed to sign further players on a temporary agreement. A quick look at the Premier League rule book clearly indicates that only domestic loans are limited, with no more than two at one time and no more than four over the course of a season.
26 Jan 2014 17:40:31
Swansea at home! COYB
Yes, KBBlue this looks like the 5th round will shake the tree and some leading EPL teams will have to fall and some will trip up. Swansea having a difficult time and with RM mananging, he's going to get the guys in the right frame of mind. IMHO I foresee 4-0. COYMB's!
Be under no illusion Toronto, I adopted a similar confidence going into the Wigan game last season and look what happened there. Swansea are a very decent side on their day although 'their day' is unpredictable so I hope we are very cautious leading into that game and don't think we can just turn up and win. Would love another trip back to Wembley though, it's like our second home.
26 Jan 2014 16:10:42
Will Martinez use Magaye now to replace Oviedo, and what's the story with him?
{Ed025's Note - he will just be a squad player for me lee..
I heard he was off to Brest (club he was on loan to recently) for £3M.
26 Jan 2014 15:29:12
Bit worried about Jags who was taken off as a precaution for his hamstring Distin also out as is Alcaraz would leave Johnny and John stones as only fit centre backs Tuesday
26 Jan 2014 15:21:29
Every time I trawl the sporting web, all I see is RED with Moyes / Mata, a record $37.5m signing and still with $100m in his back pocket to create his stamp on the team. Here's us, good signings yes, great use of the loan system, terrfic youngsters, a manager who inspires the very good team we have despite an injury list now requiring the use of both hands to count for. but we seem not able to raise two coins together for any of the player suggestions made on the website or eleswhere. Have any signed extensions? So the icon players we have seem inevitable to leave. I am not saying either system is better than the other but something sucks. OK that's my moan. In spite of EVERYTHING the team keeps coming up with something, so COYB and fly against the RS and get back into the top 4. Love ya!
26 Jan 2014 14:56:09
Chelsea willing to sell lukaku for 23m to fund edison cavani deal. wouldn't pay 23m for yakubu number 2
Lukaku IS a quality striker, his first touch needs a lot of work and he tires quite quickly because of the runs he makes which if you watch him off the ball are very good.15 mill I'd value him at at the mo, but if he goes to the World Cup and has blinder you could double that.
Lukaku having a dry spell any nobody rates him any more. Lukaku is a terrific young striker, how fickle some of our fans can be, he will be back scoring very soon and everybody will think he is the best thing since sliced bread again. I would pay 23m for a powerful, quick young, goal scorer would be a great player for us, he is struggling at the mo, because he misses Barkley creating chances for him. if you look at the games of late he ain't getting many chances since Barkley got injured. when Barkley returns so will the goal scoring Lukaku, so stop knocking the big man and get behind and support him.
26 Jan 2014 14:01:44
Hearing that Sunderland are trying to sign Ever Banega from Valencia. We've been linked with him in the past, but nothing has ever come of it, but if Sunderland can attract him, surely we could to? He's an excellent centre mid who is just as comfortable behind the striker. Would fill the void Ross has left and would be able to replace Barry once he's past it.
I agree AB very good player with good energy levels. Would be very good for us.
He is a very talented footballer but has a huge attitude problem rather get holtby or go for diago who is available for fee of 1.5 mil as contract up soon or if we could get about 12 to 14 mil have a go for arda turan who is technically brilliant
Arda turan wouldn't leave Aletico Madrid to go to us. Diego is cheap to buy but his wages is a hell of a lot!
Another Shandy Andy. An alcoholic womaniser who can hardly turn up to training. Can't see RM fancying him to be honest. Great talent but plagued with personal problems.
I'm sure we've tried to sign Banega before, about 5 seasons ago, but he backed out at the last minute.
He certainly does have his personality problems, but maybe a change of scenery may help that? Liverpool's hardly the glamourous place Valencia is. Either way, I'm fairly certain Diego has notorious personality problems, too, doesn't he?
26 Jan 2014 13:47:00
Just a few questions ed.
Who will be missing for the derby
Do you think we will sign anybody else this window?
And if so, who are the targets please?
{Ed025's Note - alcaraz, distin, barkley, del boy, bryan, gibbo, kone, all out mate....i dont expect us to do much if any more business this window to be honest..
Ed Is distin injured again I taught he was just been rested.
{Ed025's Note - his status is injured stef, im not sure to what extent though mate..
Cheers ed I think Bill should ask the red cross to sponser us next season I can't recall us ever having so many first team players being out injured all at once.
{Ed025's Note - tell me about it stef :(
Ed is Pienaar available then?
{Ed025's Note - i suspect he is josh..
26 Jan 2014 13:28:45
I think if Martinez is going to play one up top on Tuesday that he should go with Naismith.
Naismith playing off lukaku and bobby should tell lukaku he's got until traores fit to get in form or he's on the bench
Ye I agree Quinny Lukaku I think would probably be better coming off the bench. If you look back at last year when he was with West brom he was on the bench a lot he just does not seem to be a 90 minute player he always looks knackerd.
Naismith got a double against Stevanege. That's no Liverpool. Lukaku may be out of form but he's still world class and he's got a record against The RS!
Josh correction mate he is not world class he is decent no doubt and I want him to bag a couple Tuesday but world class players don't huff and puff after 70 mins mate Naismith has never got a proper chance in his natural position and for me I think he would cause the darkside a lot of problems.
26 Jan 2014 12:44:01
I think that from now on, every 8th minute in all of our games, we should all sing Oviedo baby to show our support for Bryan.
That would be nice bitter.
Good idea mate!
26 Jan 2014 12:36:04
I would also like to wish Bryan Oviedo a full recovery. Anyone with medical expertise on here to know how long a recovery from this type of injury is? I always thought that a break is better than damaging ligamemts and cartilages I may be wrong and we will find out in the next 24hrs.
{Ed004's Note - Saw the injury late yesterday so didnt have a chance to comment. All the best to Oviedo a proper professional who waited for his chance and didnt throw a tantrum shame to see him get injured and hope he returns a better player.}
8-12 months I believe
I'm no medical expert but a clean break is 'better' than the alternative of tearing ligaments and tendons associated with the bone. He could possibly make the World Cup if there are no complications, though it is probably an outside chance. Healing time is generally 12-16 weeks, then there is the rehab. Very hard one to predict. Could be anything from 4-12 months.
Let's just hope he kicks a ball again. I think at this stage that should be the realistic outlook.
Djibril Cisse broke both of his legs at various points in his career and he still plays professionally. I'm gutted for Bryan, as he's quickly becoming a favourite, but I reckon he'll be back to dominating the wing next season.
26 Jan 2014 12:32:30
I wondering what fellow blues thought of this IF we don't get top four this season and with Utd signing Mata and getting Rooney and RVP back and they started improving who would you prefer to get 4th place out of Liverpool or Man Utd. I know its a hard one its like deciding cremation or burial.
That's a hard choice if liverpool don't Suarez goes. But if utd don't they will hopefully fade over the years without champions league. And I'd really hate spurs to that's a team who I really don't like. I would rather liverpool over utd if we finished 3rd
It's worse than choosing burial or cremation. more like choosing how you want to die in the first place.
Liverpool, without a doubt. I have no great love for LFC but I would prefer that they get it rather than supercilious Manchester United . Anyone but Man Utd!
26 Jan 2014 12:02:28
Liverpool fan here. Putting the rivalry aside, genuinely feel sorry for Oviedo, he was having a great season for you lot. Here's hoping he gets back on the pitch soon. Best of luck toffees for the rest of the season. Obviously want the reds to finish above Everton, but always nice to see us both doing Ok :-)
Thanks mate. always difficult with such terrible injuries.
26 Jan 2014 11:39:27
I would like to wish Oviedo all the best, never nice to see anything like that and i'm really gutted for the lad, world cup dreams over and a long lay off just as he was finding his role in the team, feel for him I really do.
Get well soon Oviedo
26 Jan 2014 10:55:22
hi ed just looking around and found a picture on sos the school of science of brian and the lads around him headline the great at spirit of everton
its right what they say the lads have a great spirit have a look at it lads it shows how they care for him and that transfers around the team we all wish brian well on a different point what's wrong with Brenda see he is spouting how there ready for everton that's 3 times I've read the same thing tell you what the rubbish have not been playing that well the last 2 games he is worried lol
26 Jan 2014 10:24:59
Would like to wish Oviedo all the best, wouldn't wish that injury on anyone, from a red fan.
26 Jan 2014 09:57:11
Would just like to say how gutted I am for Bryan. Feels like we lost the game. It couldn't of happened to a better pro either. Such a shame. Hope he has a good recovery and is back next season like a new signing! I also think we need some cover for him. Otherwise we will see Osman more than we like!
26 Jan 2014 09:34:53
Is Martinez looking to bring anyone in to cover for Oviedo?
26 Jan 2014 09:30:58
Sunday paper talk on the ssn app reports that Chelsea are selling lukaku to help fund a move for psg striker if we can raise 20 mill he is ours
26 Jan 2014 09:12:16
Apparently chelsea will be willing to sell lukaku in the summer to fund a move for cavani. Wonder if martinez got a heads up about this during this month to make sure we are in the running and didn't spend all our money in this window. Would explain why no permanent deals have been made.
26 Jan 2014 07:50:01
Supported the blues for nearly 50 years and in all that tjme cannot remember us having so many injuries.
Poor Oviedo, a terrible injury, similar to the one a young Bolton lad sustained one Boxing day against the blues many years ago (on a pitch that should never have been played on).
The injury some said at the time would finish the lads career, his name?
Peter Reid!
I'm sure everyone at the club will do as much as they can to support Brian over the coming months both physically and mentally, the lad will be in 'a very bad place' when he wakes this morning.
Get well, soon Bryan.
I was there Mushy, a game abandoned at HT.Burnden Park in the supermarket end.1 -1.Trevor Ross scored our goal if the old grey cells are working.
Good Luck Brian, one thing for certain you are with the right club. The Peo;es Club. Nil Satis
The worst injury wise was when yakubu, arteta and jagielka all ruptured ligaments in 2008-09. But wish all the best to Bryan. Hopefully Barkley and delefeou are back soon.
26 Jan 2014 02:42:21
Just got home pissed as fart(so excuse spelling) how easy was that .iknow it was a banana skin thourghly professional performance we are top quality hope Oviedo is ok but we are now atop top team
I never wanted Moyes to leave but I'm glad he did
D
26 Jan 2014 02:20:27
Arsenal seem to be about to purchase Draxler they have Ramsey Walcott Ozil Cazola Flameni etc can anyone see one of our favourite sons returning Mikel Arteta?
26 Jan 2014 03:42:14
Ive watched draxler for a while now, he may be the best german talent out there (maybe alongside gotze), he will be world class guaranteed, if arsenal get him, wow they are lucky and about arteta, no thank you, its bad enough diving against us and trying to get our players sent off by non stop complaining to the ref, don't want him back, need a different style of player anyway, let him rot on the bench for all I care, let's get someone else
I take arteta back he'd fit in well under bobby
Arteta hasn't been anywhere near his ability since before his long term injury a few years back. Watching him play these days, you can still see that he's cautious and terrified of taking a knock. The once great Matador only does well against cows now.
26 Jan 2014 00:58:58
Watched the game early in the morning here in OZ and the remote went through the TV when Oviedo broke his leg. You could see on the faces of all the Everton players especially Mirallas that they were distraught. We won the game but I went back to bed upset. On a chilling note now not only do we have so many injuries to our good players but we have to play the cheats across the park who continually do the "Greg Louganis" and get penalties or give the Rowdy Rowdy Piper "Sleeper Hold" in their penalty box.
Cheers
Aussie Toffee.
Ps Enjoy the weather there. Just leaving to go the beach now.
26 Jan 2014 00:14:41
I watched the match today but was a bit drunk so didn't realise quite how bad Oviedo's injury was. So firstly I would like to say get well soon. I'm not only gutted for the mighty blues but also because for him as a player, it's awful that he is going to miss the World Cup. He probably won't get many more chances and I for one was looking forward to supporting him there. Aside from that, despite the result, I thought we played pretty poorly today, I'm really hoping that it was just due to us taking our foot off the pedal with it being a relatively easy game. Either way, despite the injuries we need to bring it to the rubbish on Tuesday and show them who is boss! COYB
Wouldnt say we played poorly at all Tommy. We did a professional job on a difficult pitch on a horrible night which Stevenage would try to use to there advantage, You know what to expect from these lower league teams and if you take your eye off the ball and underestimate them that's when you come unstuck.Thankfully we never and we got the job done so avoiding slipping up in front of the tv cameras.Good luck to Bryan, terrible injury caused by the bog of a pitch not a tackle.
