I'd be only too delighted Degsy. Happy Christmas and new year to you.

Mirallas always has been a very good player impressed from day one his problem has been inconsistency, needs a Manager who can drill that out of him. It is why I was chuffed to NAAFI break about Koeman and his Staff coming to us, under him I have no doubt whatsoever we will come good.

Spent Boxing Day with the red nosed relatives. They'd sorted a live stream of the game hoping for some amusement at my expense. Well that backfired.
Think the 3 CB's may have been persevered with earlier if we hadn't have run into Chelsea on a top form day. I wouldn't want two of the Chelsea back three based on defensive abilities. It's all about organisation.
Don't usually pay much attention to stats, but fair play to Rom and the substituted Kev doing nearly 10k each.

Ted I was doing about 10k every day in my late 50's in half the time just to keep fit. These guys do it in 90 minutes once a week with a rest and a cup of tea half way through and everyone is chuffed. They are lazy, overpaid and most don't really care as long as the gravy train keeps going.

BlueMike75 careful mate you are in danger of having suspicions about us grumpy old men confirmed. What's up mate did the Turkey not go down well.

Yes I am grumpy Bill. If I was earning what these guys earn I would be running around like a spring chicken even at my age. I have no problem with players who give their all but have little talent but do have a major problem with players with talent who waste it.

Strange how much of a roller coaster the prem is. Looking at arsenal, Liverpool and then Leicester, most fans would be over the moon with 6 points before a ball was even kicked.
Shame we lost to the reds but that's not a bad points haul from them 3 games. 3 mor against Hull and the confidence should be back.

Hi Smit yeh mate good post, just goes to show we should take no notice about team selection in the posters below, glad we have R K and not them picking the team cheers, GuernseyBlue.

GB that two from twelve don't get to excited mate. As I said earlier that was a side set up not to concede and hopefully score on the break. Yes it worked but it wasn't good mate, and if you think it was then you've got use to mediocrity. RK will get it right but not with this side.

Hi Woburn agree mate, but we are in 7th, a pretty healthy spot really to say we have not played that well, with the transfer window later this week I feel we are going to turn the corner, let's all stay positive cheers, GuernseyBlue.

I think slowly but surely some of the team are buying into RK'S way of playing. Still plenty of them that aren't but if we can sign 4 players into the backbone of the team we should have a strong squad. CB, CM, AM and S. And we should be close to pushing for Europe.

Hi Smit agree good transfer window business and we will be on our way, GuernseyBlue.

Woburn you have to play the opposition. They counter very well so you can't leave yourself exposed at the back. As they mainly attack down their left with the ball over the top, Holgate with his pace covered the area brilliantly. This forced the play on their right and Mori with his pace covered it well.

This left Williams to command the two and create a sound footing, defensively. With the additional two players in midfield in Baines and Coleman as wingbacks (probably their best positions) we had more men to drive the play into the middle when they had the ball. This put them in direct conflict with Gana and Barry and I'd take them to win those battles any day of the week. It put their players out of position all afternoon and we exposed them pretty well.

It won't work every week but you have to have a plan B, C or D. We didn't have this last year or the two years before and we're not used to it now but over time and more likely next season and the one after we will be much more adaptable. how do you play against a team you don't know how it's going to set up?

Maybe someone could explain to me what aspect of Holgate and Davies game today would indicate a huge gulf between the U21's and our first team? Also how the performance by Holgate and Davies today would indicate that they are not ready for first team duty?

They're going to be first team players soon but it's best you ease them into the side rather than throw them in.

It's not just the footballing side they have to be prepared for.

Young players should come into a team capable of supporting them, the expectation should not be the other way around.

Don't understand RK team selection, looks defensive at first glance with three CB's but IMO we will sacrifice midfield with only Barry and Gana to really compete.
My concern is we may well be over run and present Leicester with too much possession.
Hope I'm wrong!

Agree fancy looks like a team set up to try and get a draw. Let's hope we're playing to hit them on the break, or this could be a hard watch mate.

As you both now know (hindsight I know) but with coleman and baines forward as wingbacks (as someone else said and I agree their best positions) for a Team like Leicester the set up was spot on. With McArthy fit the only difference would have been a centre dm two with more speed (Barry on bench) .

would anyone go but bid in for pickford then maybe loan him back to them for rest of season.

{Ed002's Note - Everton are not looking for a goalkeeper in January but he is one of two goalkeepers attracting the attention of Arsenal.}

26 Dec 2016 20:55:43
Heard that Pickford and Kone will be sacrificed if the right bid comes in as Moyes has to sell before he buys I'm really hoping we do show interest in Pickford as he looks a future England GK and I'm praying we leave Kone alone.
