Just want to say personally i think we are looking at the wrong player. Dempsey is good but pushing 30, Dembele on the other hand is only 24 and a class act. Dont get me wrong but i want to see us buying younger player especially if we sign pienaar who is 30 himself.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

I would be happy with either lad, both are quality in my opinion, but I think Dempsey will be slightly cheaper

Agree0 Disagree0

True but for me Dembele would cost 10 million mate. They bought him for 12 i think.
Dempsey on the other hand is in his last year of his contract and reports say he would cost in the region of 4 million which is more our budget!
He might be pushing 30 but he still has a good 2-3 years left in him and would replace Cahill who for me shouldn't be starting! Love Cahill and would like him to retire at the club but play a bit part a bit like Big Dunc in his last 2 seasons

Its getting to that time of year again when all the bill haters will start to surface. Like every Evertonian we are all frustrated by our lack of investment and desperate for a sugar daddy to come in. But i challenge anyone to tell me any takeover that has actually been very successful (except the obvious billionaires of CITY & Chelsea, too few of those about!) Liverpool, Blackburn, Villa, Portsmouth, Wolves, Coventry, West Ham, QPR, Birmingham, Leicester, Notts County to name just a few have had new owners over last few yrs, all promising the world, yet all failing spectaculary to deliver. Randy Lerner was seen as the 'perfect owner' not too long ago. Over past few yrs he has sold Barry, Milner, Downing, Young and brought in the manager of there biggest rivals. Villa fans want him out. Yes were all frustrated at the moment but are we really in bad hands??

Believable11 Unbelievable0

Totally agree, thats what I have been saying for a while........

TC

Agree0 Disagree0

You will find that most of the haters are Koppites mate trying to stirr things up {Ed024's Note - Possibly, it is okay for blues fans to have different opinions on the board, we all just want the best for the club, there are hopefully signs now that we are moving in the right direction

Agree0 Disagree0

Couldn't agree more

Isn't it funny how a few weeks ago most people slagging off moyes being negative playing 4-5-1 especially at home but now people think we would challenge top 4 if we had Dempsey behind jelavic playing the same formation. And I did say it then no one criticised Harry red knapp and spurs performance earlier when they where playing 4-5-1.

Jelavic is an outstanding goal scorer the Stats speak for themselves a one touch wonder. Hopefully he will remain fit and score plenty more next season.

B {Ed025's Note - he will do mate..

Next season i would like to see Barkley play alongside Gibson and Felliani play behind the striker. {Ed025's Note - a lot of guys are asking for that, but i think it is more likely that a new partner for jelly will come from the transfer market..

We still have 4 matches left and all are important if we want to finish above Liverpool and Fulham and even get in the top half of the table.

Anyway, i'd play:

Howard

Hibbert - Heitinga - Jagielka - Neville

Coleman - Gibson - Fellaini - Pienaar

Barkley

Jelavic

But it will likely be Osman on the right and Cahill in for Barkley

Ste EFC {Ed025's Note - you are probably right ste..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It will probably be next season when barkley breaks through, it is just frustrating not seeing him, as we keep hearing about his amazing potential

Bez the blue {Ed025's Note - i think the lads great, i just wish moyes would give him a go!...unless he gets a bit of a run in the side, we will never know how good he is?..

Agree0 Disagree0

He looked good in the pre season friendlies before the start of the season, i am sure he is ready to make an impression in the first team

Bez the blue {Ed025's Note - i think so too bez..

Agree0 Disagree0

Coleman fans - give it up - it's not happening - may not even be a squad player after this season and that semi {Ed025's Note - hes only a kid mate, we were all raving about him last year, so give the guy a chance!..

Agree0 Disagree0

Coleman is not good enough, he had a good first season but now defenders know what hes going to do ( put his head down and try to run as fast as he can) they just stand in front of him and tackle him, hes got nothing else, he would be one of three players I would offload in the summer along with anichebe( also not good enough) and Mcfadden who should never had been signed IMO, also why hasnt drenthe been sent back to madrid, whats the point in paying his wages for the next five or so weeks when hes never going to play for us again, hes a disgrace, bags of talent but really poor attitude. ewefc

Agree0 Disagree0

Baines is back for Stoke game. Just thought i would mention it

Agree0 Disagree0

Barkley was the best player in a blue shirt against QPR as well!

Chris {Ed024's Note - I remember, play him moyes

Next season, should we sign Dempsey and Pienaar like the rumours suggest, I would really like Fellaini and Dempsey to play behind Jelavic:

Howard
Hibbo Johnny Distin Baineso
RM Gibson Pienaar
Fellaini Dempsey
Jelavic {Ed024's Note - Good team, maybe a new right back???

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Could play barkley in that rm position if fellani and dempesy play behind the striker.
Blue kaz

Agree0 Disagree0

I like hibbert, but i would like us to sign someone who has more quality in that position

Bez the blue {Ed025's Note - hes a good lad bez, and a good servant, but that only takes you so far!...

Agree0 Disagree0

Kyle Naughton right back would be a great signing. Modern day right back, similar to Walker

If Chelsea win the champions league. Will it change european places for us or would it still be the top six.
Robbie

Believable0 Unbelievable0

According to the official Barclays Premier League website if Chelsea win the Champions League they go immediately to the group stage with 4th dropping to the Europa. It has changed since we came 4th.
AJ :]

If chelsea win it they wil hav to defend it so if they finish say 5th,who ever is 4th wil drop to europa

Ivica Olic from Bayern Munich on a free would be agood signing in a forward position, Croatian international may be acquaintance with Jelavic, good hard-working player.

Bez the blue {Ed025's Note - just looked him up bez...certainly worth a shout..

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Would be another good addition to the team, can fill that Cahill role, and being Coratian, can build a really strong partnership with Jelavic.

Would also take a look at his international and club teammate Danijel pranjic, also available on a free and personally more of a chance, would be a very good addition to the squad.

Is it just me, or are there quite a few bargains to be had in the summer? Hopefully we can get in on some of them, think we are a couple players short of really challenging the top 4, and there are players available that could make us competitive for 4th (Dempsey, Holtby, Pranjic, Olic, Rodallega and plenty others)

Agree0 Disagree0

He's gone wolfsburg in summer

As a Rangers fan i was gutted to see Jelavic leave for such a small fee,But so glad he went to Everton (my 2nd club) He is now getting a bit of attention lads and lassies,But he gets itchy feet if bids come in off the back of scoring great goals on the big stage. what do you think Ed? Think he will stay long? {Ed003's Note - why not,he's only just arrived}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I am a everton and rangers fan as well. Jelavic is loving it at goodison and becoming part of an exciting side that can challenge for top 6 next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope he stays forever, however, you feel, if next season he has an absolute blinder, like he is having this season, that clubs with Champs League football will come knocking, and I just feel Jelavic will want to test himself in that competition.

So hopefully he gets to do this with Everton! {Ed024's Note - Well said

Agree0 Disagree0

Carries on the way he is and if he does leave it will only be for big money, just look how much clubs like chelsea and citty are paying for strikers at the moment

Not transfer rumours but, would you blame moyes if he did leave? I wouldnt he deserves much better than bill and his cronies

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Yes he deserves much better i mean 65 grand a week to manage an historical big club like Everton..my heart bleeds for him. RED RUSS

Agree0 Disagree0

You sure your not a Blue Russ? Always welcome on here in my opinion mate.

Wizard of Osman

No I'm a proud red mate lol but i love the City and we are all honoured to have 2 great clubs. RED RUSS

We do get along always have and always will that is what makes Merseypride the place it is the people. I replied to the post because the press and certain people think Moyes is too big for Everton ..NO WAY. RED RUSS.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wish we could all be like you Russ, top man

Degsybluenose {Ed024's Note - I will second that, a have a lot of mates who are reds and we have a lot of friendly banter, but we can have a decent chat about football as well

Clint Dempsey is now at 7/2 from 9/1 with paddypower to move to Everton this summer. He is 8/11 to stay at Fulham.
Interesting, if we can move early and get Dempsey before other teams come sniffing i will be delighted, don't want to get too excited because it's Everton isn't it and we don't do things easy but this would be great Dempsey and Jelavic would be frightening!!
PaulEFC

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Dempsey has been in great goal scoring form this season and i think he would be ideal for us

Bez the blue

Agree0 Disagree0

There is some truth in this, according to some of the trusted ITK's who are generally spot on with things related to Everton (including Fourth_Official) they seem to think Dempsey is interested in joining Everton, and Moyes absolutely loves the player.

One problem, where is the money going to come from? Well Mr Kenwright, it is all up to you, personally I think this player alongside Pienaar permanently could be what is missing for a challenge on the top 6, maybe even top 4.

Dempsey would be an absolutely brilliant signing, how long have we been dreaming of a 15-20 goalscorer? And now, if we add Dempsey, we already have Jelavic, who, fitness permitting, for me is bang on to get around the 20 goal mark, and well, we have seen what Dempsey has done this season. {Ed024's Note - Signing dempsey would give the fans massive optimism for next season, there is a lot of optimism anyway, but to get this guy would be a great boost for us

Agree0 Disagree0

The 'Wheres the money coming from' debate again. I am 100% confident that Bill and the board will pull some money out the bag, if they don't, they will be under massive scrutiny. I am positive that we won't be seeing 2 loan signings on deadline day again this year.

ToffeeTony {Ed024's Note - Hopefully the summer window will be like the january window

I really think in the last 4 games we should carry on with Fellaini right up there with Jelavic and drop Cahill in the middle with Gibson.
Been saying all season with Cahill struggling upfront that he could be a great little central midfielder, he annoys the opposition gets in there faces and battles and something people never notice he links up well with our player's and very rarely gives the ball away, nothing special like but better than sideway passes he is naturally forward thinking so would be a great foil to Gibson. Also he actually tackles really well and obviously is very good in the air so useful defending. With Fellaini pushed further up and Jelavic banging in goals for fun and hopefully Cahill coming from deeper positions to get on the end of crosses i think we could easily get the 10 points needed from 12 to finish 7th and above them lot which would be a little consolation from the semi final disaster!
COYB

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Can't really add to that mate. I agree 100 percent. You should put your name on it tho pal.

Wizard of Osman

Agree0 Disagree0

I've been saying this for a while now mate, the brilliant thing with our squad at the moment mate is that it is so versatile, the majority of our squad can play to a good standard in two or more positions

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry i usually do leave my name, i forgot there. Its PaulEFC.
Yes, i was saying 1st half of the season, moyes wasn't handling the Cahill "situation" well and there was a situation, he looked poor and was lacking confidence in front of goal, he should off took pressure off him and that didn't mean dropping him to the bench, which he did a few times, that made it worse, he should of moved Osman behind Saha and played Cahill in the middle instead of Rodwell!!
Was really annoyed 1st half of the season! How things have changed though, seems like ages ago we were playing really poor, lacked ideas, saha clearly didn't want to be here, i feared the worst!!
Donovan, Gibson, Pienaar and Jelavic was massive in changing our season and you have to give credit to Kenwright and Moyes.
If we can add pace in the team in the summer we actually start the season strong we could get back to where we were 3-4 years ago finishing 5th and challenging top 4 i honestly believe that!

Agree0 Disagree0

Nice one Paul. I honestly believe it too mate. Then again, I say that every season....No, I reckon things will be different this time around. Just need our form to not get lost again in the summer.

I'm a bit disappointed that Tigre want 5 million for Straqualersui. For me, 5 million is over-priced for him, 1-2 million at most, he works really hard and plays with his heart on his sleeve but for 5 million and with the budget that we will probably have i think we could get a better player in a area we need like a winger. Shame really.
PaulTheBlue

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Good player, but 5 mill is too much and moyes has to be shrewd with what funds he has

Bez the blue

Where have you seen this

Agree0 Disagree0

Its in the Echo

Wooly Blue {Ed025's Note - if they want £5m wooly...send him back!!

Agree0 Disagree0

The straq can stay ....but on 7 pound per hour....like me minimum wage for minimum talent....we all work hard but the straq just does not cut the mustard.....he runs round like the bogey man triying to scare ppl,soz but he plays like i play in my dreams ,...i always fail to get on the end of passes ,..and it feels like am running on treakle,...thats are big den {Ed024's Note - I personally like straq

Agree0 Disagree0

The Strach plays like any toffee supporter would if given the chance, he runs, runs, and runs until he's in a heep and then he goes and runs some more!! Great attitude and passion about the lad!! But 5 mill ?? I think that's a bit much! Maybe another season on loan!! Love watching him scare the s... Outta defenders though

Kurajan

We have spent more on worse players than strac {Ed025's Note - not many mate!
