Koeman's body language doesn't look right to me. The press conference after Bournemouth suggests that there's trouble at mill!

The guys a legend mate, u truly don't appreciate him till u have him in your team. Class act on and off the pitch.

{Ed025's Note - i totally agree mate..

Your right there Bluetooth. Always conducted himself in the right manner, on and off the pitch. May not of had pace, but he has a great tactical brain. Still reckon he has a couple of seasons left in him tbh.

Spot on mate. He said he laughed when martinez said he can play till he's 40, honestly don't see why not.

I'm gutted he's gone. Not so gutted about the yellow cards but he is being missed.

I know that traditionally footballers aren't meant to be blessed with big brains but to honestly think reindeer are fictional?

Come on Mason, how do you think Father Christmas delivers your presents.

I made a rare trip up to Goodison on Saturday and I have to say; what's happened to the atmosphere?

I thought we started quite brightly - 4 meaningful attacks in the first 10 minutes. A header just wide from DCL and a rising shot from Gylfi, but all you could hear were the Bournemouth fans. So much so that when a home chant briefly broke out following Wayne's injury, the Bournemouth fans were singing "we'd forgotten you were here". Slightly embarrassing.

In my opinion the nervousness of the crowd transfers to the players and we are compounding the problem. I honestly think if the crowd was behind these guys, they would perform better. Don't get me wrong, it was painful to watch for the most part but I don't ever remember being at such a quiet game - the crowd only got going after Niasse came on.

Dan Meis is tasked with replicating the Goodison atmosphere at a new ground on Bramley Moore Dock - it's a pretty easy brief on current evidence.

Happen to agree, went up for the Spurs game and I appreciate we got hammered but at 0-0 the atmosphere still wasn't the best.

It's been going on for a while. The last season of Moyes was probably when it started to get a bit nasty and very negative. She has her good days still but it's usually dull until a goal comes a long.

Someone will jump on and say they have to make us get excited but if anyone has been to Palace or Leicester they will know that's utter rubbish.

The atmosphere has been like that for a good while. I don't mean this to sound disrespectful, and I mean no malice by saying it, but I think the general demographic has changed where fans are concerned and the majority of people that watch everton now are middle aged professional types who would much rather moan and analyse a match than shout and sing. Certainly the people who sit around me are like that anyway. It's not the football on offer. I sat in the Gladwys during the Walter Smith years and the atmosphere was always good even though the football was dire.

if you think that's bad that's the best atmosphere we have had in a while haha.

If the players tried harder it would lift the crowed, they pay a lot of money, my mate takes his two lads to the game and then is skint all week, so have a bit of respect for the fans lads.

Pierre is spot on about the demographic as the cost of going now means they are the ones who can afford it. Anyone with kids and a mortgage will struggle to find 80-100 quid 2 or 3 times a month. almost all the top flight clubs are burying thrir heads in the sand if they think this won't come back and bite them in the backside in 15 years time.

26 Sep 2017 15:34:35
No disrespect was meant stig - I just think the atmosphere is not helping the players (especially the new players) settle into the game. I've been a fan of Everton since my first visit to Goodison in 1984, but I'd never claim to be as big a supporter as the fans who go to the game week in, week out.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Sep 2017 16:15:44
The majority of fans now going are rubbish Stig. I've hardly missed a game for 35 years and it's been the last 5 that I can tell.

We did jave a spell like this in the 80s before we won a trophy in 84. Maybe that's what we need.

{Ed002's Note - A time machine?}

26 Sep 2017 17:37:32
Maybe if the crowed got behind the players, it may lift them Stig?

It has definitely changed. If the team is a bit flat, the crowd will start to grumble and moan, but years ago, the crowd would start shouting the players on and more often than not, they would respond. Like when Z Cars came on, the noise would make you shiver. These days it's met with polite applause. Sad, but true.

Everton do a lot to encourage future support £95 season tickets for kids and £485 adult lower Gladys is fantastic value as for atmosphere its away fans that create atmosphere unless it's a big game. brighton toffee says Bournemouth fans created lots of noise but from my seat (lower Gladys) I couldn't hear them at all but could hear lower Gladys singing (unfortunately only a small number of fans joined in), which he prob couldn't hear from his seat.

yes atmosphere isn't as good as it used to be but the fans and players both need to feed off each other which is hard to do after recent form hopefully we put together a nice little run and get the old lady rocking again.

I agree with most of what's said below regarding the team for Thursday.
My opinion is always back 4 (Never wanna see back 3 again with these players)
There is absolutely no reason why Davies can't be our box to box midfielder similar to Gerrard. That way him and geuye can be classed as dcm. 2 X dcm without ball and 1 (geuye) when we have possession.
Then get aome width. Pick 1 or 2 of Rooney, klassen and siggy. And get lookman or kev out wide.

definitely think until January dcl and/ or niasse need to be up top every game.

Seeing we didn't sign a striker to replace you know who DCL and Niasse have stepped up to the plate so far. The 2 of them are showing promise. Hope the 2 of them do get proper chances.

You are spot on Geoffjohno, Said something similar last week about Davies, if you want the best of Tom Davies, he needs to be played in the middle and not out wide, early doors we have packed defence midfield and attack too close together, stopping Davies with space and his strength to run with the ball.

I have to agree with everything said there boys but the problem is when Ronnie decides to play the same team and tactics over and over I don't think he will change his ways but you know me NBTB I'm not very optimistic ☺.
