last time i posted was a year ago probably, i didn't agree with koeman and i was raving about an ethan apadu from exeter city, sadly chelsea signed him. i didn't watch the match but heard we played well in the 2nd half. hope we don't rush in to another manager signing, we need a manager that thinks he is so lucky to be at the club and not pay him mega bucks to come as don't really give a shit. any way onwards and upwards coybs.

The players played well tonight and just want to say well done to the young lad beni I was made up he got a new contract and I think he was as good as anyone on the pitch coyb.

Just match the game live in Dubrovnik, very proud of them all, the best game I've seen them play this season, well done all especially Unsworth.

I can't believe someone has put the thumbs down on last night performance.

Tonight it was awsome at times we had chelski on the ropes like an old punch drunk team of boxers but the experience got them through, can't wait for the sequal.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

25 Oct 2017 21:50:06
Nothing too much to say. That's because Unsy let the players do the talking that second half. I can live with a defeat if we play with heart and give our best. Today we did that. For the first time this season we did that.

I wanted Wagner and two other before Unsy. I've just changed my mind.

When did Unsworth take charge? Oh yes probably some time on Monday. Amazing what has been achieved in about 48 hours isn’t it? Mind you making a sensible team selection probably helped. I am at last finally looking forward to the next game. Well done to all.

25 Oct 2017 21:43:55
In my opinion that was much more like want I want to see, particularly in the second half. We had a go, don’t think fans can question effort or commitment tonight. It will take time unfortunately but a little bit of optimism has been restored.

If that’s what rhino can get the players to produce week in week out, with a bit if added quality I’m on board!

Coyb.

For the past couple of months, I'd probably feel angry after a loss but the way the boys played second half gives me confidence that Unsy can at least take us til the end of the season. Great to see the high press and energy, shame we didn't get a bit of luck because we worked some good chances. The players played for the fans and the shirt tonight so let's hope it continues.

{Ed025's Note - very much so mate..

Never been a huge fan of Davies. Was skeptical of the hype. What a potential world beater. He has been superb in this second half.

Best of luck to Rhino tonight. It's fantastic to see a real BLUE lead us out. I can imagine the feeling of pride he will have and hopefully it will transfer to the players. Whatever happens, win, lose or draw our nightmare has come to an end. COYB.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i just hope everybody realizes that he is not going to work miracles and does not get on his case if we lose, he is one of us and will be trying his very best leinster, but to be fair he has a job on his hands with some very average players and a squad low on confidence...come on rhino..

25 Oct 2017 17:47:49
Ur right ed. all the fans will expect is an honest, balanced team, giving their best performance. none of this round pegs in square holes rubbish. I for one would be happy to C rhino get a chance to show his worth.

Agree with you there Billy mate, during the interview Rhino gave excellent replies and eye contact with all the press guys, that is always good to see especially as R K who would always be rubbing some part of his face and looking down at the table or saying but ok 20 times, nervous moments, i think Rhino will be great for us not sure if he is ready to be no 1,but hey we all start somewhere and I don't believe he will be as bad as our previous manager.

Heard a lot of names being thrown about as to who will be our new manager and i am just surprised no one
has mentioned Brendan Rodgers. He has
a wealth of Premier league experience and was very close to winning it. Also going unbeaten last season even in SPL is some acheivement.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - Hands off! Brendan Rodgers is here for 10 in a row!}

25 Oct 2017 15:08:25
Good joke that. I thought you were being serious for a minute there! I know one player don’t make a team but Suarez was the reason Liverpool nearly one the premiership. Trigger could of been manager and they would of done as well. BR will not be our next manager. Mark my words Dave.

All the talk of who will be the next manager or who will be good enough etc is all a load of c@$p, You can have all the experience or be doing well at their currents clubs but it might not work out, it's the same with players, sometimes it just doesn't work out for them at a new club despite millions been spent on them, whoever it is let's hope things click and everyone is pulling in the same direction, get a decent striker in come January then we'll all be happy again. oh for what it's worth I'd give it to rhinho haha.

Too much talk about the nationality of potential managers. While their command of English is a factor, their nationality has nothing whatsoever to do with their suitability. If Unsworth or Dyche have a track record of winning football matches, especially those against better-resourced teams, then they are good enough; conversely, if Tuchel, Silva, Fonseca or Gasperini have a good track record of success with relatively limited resources, then (subject to other considerations like do they practise set pieces or did they fall out with everyone at their previous club) , they are good enough. It's a myth that winning matches in the premier league is harder than beating Juventus, Roma, Napoli, PSG or Monaco. It's an even bigger myth that doing well in the Europa League is easy, so why is it relevant whether their success has come in this country or somewhere else? Their place of birth is even less relevant - what on earth could that possibly have to do with it? There are individual examples of foreign managers who have failed in this country - how could it be otherwise? But there are also any number of British managers who've failed. Equally, there are British managers who have achieved relative success and foreign managers who've done the same. Would anyone care to look at how many clubs in the top half of the table have British vs foreign managers? Now look at the bottom half.

Don't even think the Prem is that good a league. Far to many very average teams in it, and that does include us. But could also include all the teams outside the current top three. We need a motivator as our next manager. Someone who can organise the team and get them playing as a unit. We don't need someone who is looking at it as part of his/ her development path. Sorry used to work for the government, so am very PC sadly still ingrained.

Agree1 Disagree1

25 Oct 2017 13:49:25
I've said I'd want Silva from Watford first then Tuchel or Fonseca after that, but if Rhino does well then let him run with it. Only proviso for me would be that if it doesn't work out then get him back involved with the U23s. From what I've seen of him he's a motivator and was certainly a leader on the pitch. Unsowrth has made it clear this would be the pinnacle for him, not a stepping stone and he'd give his heart and soul to make us successful. I'd take that over a 'big name' mercenary any day.

Koeman was more like a non-exec director - stand-offish and no passion, completely devoid of emotion and didn't see the need to build relationships with the players.

As ed 1 said below suggesting gasperini as our next manager, there must be lots of good young British or foreign coaches out there. I for one don't want an old fart like redknapp or hodgson. I'd prefer a young manager with fresh ideas although if rhino does well, he should get the job.

: It looks like the LittlePool manager has resigned with immediate affect and is moving back to Germany with his family. I don't know the full details because I only caught the end of the news report, But I believe I distinctly heard the reporter say that:
"The Klopps go back this weekend".

Watching the press conference from yesterday, I have to say that Unsworth says all the right things for me and I think he was very diplomatic about Koeman, but there’s definitely even a massive problem behind the scenes. I also like the sound of the team he’s put together - Royle, Ferguson etc. People who know the club and know what Everton is all about. Sounds like McCarthy is about to come in from the cold too, as well as hopefully Barkley. At the risk of sounding all romantic, I’d love to see him given the job and for him to do well.

If Unsworth gets promoted, maybe Phil Neville to the youth team? Have also heard Alan Stubbs bring mentioned but I can't see this being long term or over Unsworth currently.

Any views would be welcome here. Our new boss. Who should it be. I'm in the Rhino camp. Seen his pre match interview and i'm convinced he will do whatever to get results. people say we need a tried and tested manager, but the ones mentioned had to start somewhere, so why not Rhino. His U23 team has at least won something recently. Next up, Dyche. A solid bet. No frils just winning mentality, now this is where I'm stumped. Tuchel. Can't speak a word if English and isn't as good as people think he is imo. Moyes. nah. Giggs and p neville, give your heads a shake. Silva. could be good. In all honesty, since moyes we have had 2 European gaffer's and after their first season they have been crap. I think Everton just needs British gaffer's. We don't seem to click with the foreign bosses. we know our style and it is hard work, fight for each other and get results. I honestly believe that with the great Joe Royal giving whispers into Rhinos ear, then we will be fine. In the end, we have Joe Royal. Mr dogs of war and Everton great. Rhino, Ferguson and Ebbrell who optimised the dogs of war. I can see how we are going forward and for the love if God I'm looking well forward to it. Let's give Rhino, his staff and most importantly the players our upmost support. We will get out this mess and finish top half the table this season.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - I would still say Gasperini. His teams play good, attractive football of the kind Everton used to be known for in the past. You know first hand how good a job he is doing, as his Atalanta side tore you a new one a few weeks ago. He is limited there at Atalanta really by the ambitions of the club, so he might well relish a new challenge.}

25 Oct 2017 08:56:48
Gasperini would be good pick but don't know much about what experience he had and also would he be in our radar. Would the club know about him as a man manager, etc?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - they certainly should do, though, judging by the fact they picked Koeman last time out, I am not convinced they are doing their homework!}

25 Oct 2017 09:14:54
I’m with you there Dentie. I like what Unsworth is saying and I agree, give him a chance.

Good shout also Ed.

{Ed001's Note - cheers Pierre.}

25 Oct 2017 10:33:39
Gasperini would be my pick as well, Ed. I'd love to think Unsworth could do it, of course, and commitment and fighting spirit has been sorely lacking for a long time. But these things only get you so far. Do we really think that Rhino is going to outsmart Morning or Pochettino when those matches come around? Look at what Gasperini is achieving both in Serie A and in the Europa with that team. It's phenomenal (to coin a phrase) .
