That was me - I'm glad you cleared that up, sensed a very aggressive tone and it annoyed me, but now you've said it's cool...wasn't trying to make something of nothing actually I was just disappointed as most ECF supporters I've come across have been decent straight up football supporters

Alright lads, just a quick word from a liverpool fan. Your club has been amazing over Hillsborough, from day 1 to now, your support has been excellent. I've always admired Everton, the way you've been managed, with the way you've succeeded with the budget you have is nothing short of amazing. Here's to hoping for an amazing derby game at the weekend, and hoping that one day Scousers will rule the world again.
Thinking we'll sneak it, we always perform against you guys, but I think we can both get top 6 this year and both push on and challenge at the top end in the next couple of seasons. Good luck.

Liverpool usually perform everton greatly underperform but hopefully will be a good game if like a 4-3 thriller to everton of course! Hope we keep it tidy and someone doesn't get wrongly sent off again all in all play like we did against villa and we will win coyb

Osman for England! Osman has played in England all his life and Everton most of the time apart form going on loan twice. Osman is a great midfielder and if Michael Carrick can get into the England team, surely Ossy can.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

On his day he is superb. quick feet, tenacious, can pick a pass however he is so inconsistent.Thats the trouble with him.He will never do it week in week out and thats the difference between average and top drawer.

Steve

Agree0 Disagree0

Osman is a classy player ON HIS DAY. Both footed, quick on the ball, clever with his passes, can score, works hard, can play anywhere across the midfield, creative but again ON HIS DAY
Unfortunately he is too inconsistent for international level, he probably has about 3 cracking games out of 10 he is that inconsistent. It's a big shame really, but he is never going to change he is 31 now and has been like that since he broke into the Everton team 10 years ago.

That Liverpool fan who posted about hoofing forward......urrrrm......did you forget the football you played with that donkey at West Ham?

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Win, lose or draw Everton fans will still love the club, were if liverpool lose it will be sack brendon, sack refs, sack fa, the worlds against us, we passed the ball backwards more so we deserve to win, its not fair why does the goal posts keep getting in the way. I hope its a draw so we dont have to listen to them moan.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just ignore the sad little rats, we know that there fans are like vernom {spelling} there just trying to make us bite so ignore them and will a bit of hope the deluded t-ts will go away, just remember 1 Evertonian is worth 20 of them bags. Terry blue

That time of the season..

Where Ed025 and Ed001 dont speak, ignore eachothers calls and dont reply to eachothers texts.. This is the time where their teams commense in the battle of Mersey Pride, where form and history is thrown out the window for 90 minutes.. Usually, this battle of bragging rights is rememebred for its red cards, 2 footed challenges and touchline bust ups. This year, i believe it will be a different story..

As a Liverpool fan, a football fan for that matter, much has been said by the positive start you boys have made.

The additions of technically clever players in the form of Mirallas and Pienaar (return)the physical pressence and forward thinking brilliance of Jelavic and the deffensive incurance policy of Jagielka (clear of injuries) and Distin gives your squad a promsingly heathly balance. Watching Everton win games and play football are 2 things thats have never gone together. This is didfferent to Everton i remember. The long balls to the big bullying forward is the ploy that Everton have used since 1878, physically ambushing the oppositions deffense and playing unattractive but at times effective football. Football has changed, your footballing ethos has had to change and may i say that change is benefitting you.

Our footballing ethos this year is also different. Where we lack in penetration and firepower upfront we gain in movement. Liverpool play form the back, keep the ball moving and make the oppositions mid-field work hard to get the ball back. Its all on the floor and looks easy on the eye and we are playing football the way it should be played IMO. Also this year, instead of relying on old heads such as Gerrard and Carragher, step forward Sterling and Suso. Our academy has a golden generation of talent and under our new sytem of one touch pass and move, it's a system the majority of these kids can fit into. Definately exciting times and a bright future ahead, totally disagree with Ed025's comment that we havent got a good future ahead of us. Rubbish mate.

Anyway..

The great news for you lot is our lack of striking ability. No Andy Carroll or Dirk Kuyt for you guys to worry about this year, 2 players who both seemed to enjoy this fixture immensely. Our Luis Suarez may have scored 5 league goals so far, but that should easily be 9 or 10. Last year we won the merseyside derbys due to our penetration and our nack of putting away our chances. The game will be won in midfield this year with attractive football at its best.

I think, this year will be one of the most eagerly anticipated Derbys with both teams playing great football. Im not expecting goals galore, im expecting 2 tecnically good teams go at it. Insead of blood sweat and tears, this fixture could well be a footablling exhibition and hopefully will provide a platform for other Merseyside derbys to come.

On a whole an ok post, one or two points though...

1- We apply the school of science. Not hoof footy, although I admit there was a lot of hoof in the last 15 years but certainly not through our our history. Case in point the 80's

2- Your team does not keep the ball in the same way that Swansea did last season, although if you give your manager a chance and follow our example in a few years you will get there.

3- Your young players, whilst good I admit are playing in an average team by your standards.

4- Your future... Can I ask why your future is such a positive for you. You have been allowed to build a super stadium on SP and you now can't afford it?? You have overseas investors, sell and incredible amount of merchandise ( I'm in the sports goods business and know how strong your brand performs ), where did the money go?

I will agree with you that it will be a cracking match and like you I think it will be close.

Last year you won because we bottled the 1st fixture, fielded an under-strength team in the 2nd and were too negative in the 3rd

Agree0 Disagree0

Long balls to the big bullying centre forward? physically ambushing the defence?
We didn't intent the title 'school of science' we were given it in recognition of our free flowing style of football that's been much copied since. Another of our phrases is 'if you know your history'. Nice post mate but you clearly don't know your history or you wouldn't be spouting such rubbish.
Moody Blue

Agree0 Disagree0

Take the banter with a pinch of salt moody blue, i know more about Evertons history than you think. In 1963-1965 my Grandad played for Everton, his name was Barry Rees and he wore the famous #9 shirt on a few occasions before being snapped up by Brighton & Hove Albion for a respectable £10,000 fee which back then was quite alot of doe.

Sam Adzii jft96 {Ed007's Note - My grandmother was a fantastic baker and cook, but I can't even heat up a tin of soup without causing panic in my family.}

Agree0 Disagree0

In response to the comment that Suarex 'Should have' scored 9-10 goals this season, the fact remains that he 'has not'

If we count our 'Should of' goals we would be top of the league!

Blue Bones

What a sack of bull, bullying teams since 1878, have you never seen the golden vision, vernon, temple young, harvey, ball and kendall. team of 70 speak for itself, 80s sides
we learnt to mix it in the 60s onwards when we started getting lumps kicked out of by the team that came back up in the 60s then by smith and co case and co etc, we have played the best football in recent seasons, it is your team that has kicked lumps out of us, Stevie G twofooted lunge on naysmith "GH he didnt know how slippy the surface was" dick kyte two footed in Captain Phil unpunished, kicked feli out the game withdrawn injured, the thing is liverpool are dirty and sly, oh come on Mark that was a red "SG after the tackle by hibbo same game were as our leader stood up st8 away after the dick kyte 1, when we were the dogs of war we held no fear, we need to bring back that ethos in derbys.
So lets hope it is a fair game and hope for a blue victory, and a decent ref
its Pauls brother Andy isn it

Agree0 Disagree0

Quite a lot of doe? They paid for him with female rabbits? Just because you have a relative who once played for our reserves it doesn't make an authority on our great club. I also have a relative who once played professional football and the man's a complete blurt. I don't normally rise to stupid taunts like yours but to make out you know about our history just because a relative once cut up the half time oranges beggars belief.

Apparently man utd have announced they have begun the process to find a new manager. Come on Davy lad get that new contract signed asap and put our minds at rest.

Believable1 Unbelievable4

Don't worry about them mate, Utd won't even think about taking Moyes as their manager. They will want a bigger name and someone who has actually won something.

Don't think Oviedo will start in the Derby, but i agree with a poster that said this is Naismiths game. Its got his name all over it ! COYB

I have a sneaky feeling Mirallas will bag a couple and will be having a cheeky little bet on that

I think it might be that we see Naismith start in the Derby. He is used to the cauldron atmosphere of the old firm so has bags of experience there.

As regards the result, well I think we we're too negative when we played them last season, but we all know we are playing very differently now.

One final point, we did the double over Brenda's team last season, a team that took 4 points off Liverpool without conceding. I thing DM knows what to do this time around.

COYB!!!!
Toffee ace {Ed025's Note - lets hope so ace...i agree with the naisy shout mate, this could be his chance to break into the team, but we must show no fear, and go for the jugular..we showed them too much respect last season..
