I know most people will disagree with me but I think we should go in for bily in jan he is available for about 2 mill. He has a point to prove and I think he would flourish in the new passing style of play. We also need a few more players who can smash the ball in from 25 yards and billy definitely comes into that category. And he would also provide quality back up for the Cam role which is his preferred position but it didn't fit into DM formation so he was never played there. Anyways what do you all think? .

You must have been on the ale tonight. too slow and too lightweight to play in the Premiership. Plus we have goalscorers all over the pitch, I wouldn't say we need him for that. Although he did score some crackers for us, I'll give you that

wow we buy him just because he can score from 25 yards that is literally incredible yenno what forget players like mccarthy and barry they are useless let's just buy players with powerful shots, okay that sarcasm wasnt needed but still he is woeful and would not provide quality cover for the cam position, he cannot beat a man, has no pace and he couldn't pass on a cold if he sneezed in someones face, seriously, please george green impress martinez just so we do not have to even consider bringing him back

Im with mike on this one.he was sold for being very poor. i'd also like to see Green given a go, even if its from the bench with 10 mins to go.if he carries his form to 1st team then he saves you forking out 10 million for same kind of player. He is going to be a cracker and if you good enough you're old enough.

I actually see the point you're making, Lew, but I think you have forgotten just how bad he was. It wasn't a case of him not fitting in the system, he just wasn't good enough. He had less technical ability that Straq, less pace than Nev Southall and a worse workrate than Berbatov. When he was sold, it wasn't a 'shame', because he didn't quite fit in, we rejoiced because he was terrible.

I don't think he was that poor. Technically very gifted player. Don't want him back as I don't see the point but I do feel in a less kick and rush team he has the attributes and technique to be a player

Haha It was just a thought and for 2 mill we could do a lot worse. And take the game against Swansea without Barkley and colemans brilliant solo efforts we would of lost. So I just thought a few more players who can produce match winning moments would be beneficial, and this season under R Martinez the way he injects swagger, confidence and belief into the team I could see him doing well. Would you lot prefer mcgeady for about the same price? . I havnt really seen him play so can't make a real judgment but from what people say he is crap.

Again, I know what you mean, he certainly could offer moments of magic to get us out of trouble in games where we've not really impressed, but there are many other players who are a similar price who could give us that. He didn't leave on a good note, anyway, so I doubt he'd ever return. And I'd prefer McGeady to him, I think he's actually a pretty decent player, but again, there's many others I'd rather we go for.

Hey Mike, have you ever considered a player to be average or good at some things and not others? Whenever I read your posts, they always say someone is terrible or they are brilliant. Useless or fantastic. etc. By the way, I agree about Billy. I don't think I ever saw him go past a defender. but he could certainly strike a ball well.

Yes degsy I have its just we are linked with really good players like jordie clasie or morata and then absolutely poor players like tom cleverley, when I say I don't rate players like tom ince or aiden mcgeady it doesn't mean I think they are crap, they are decent players but I don't think they are that good or as good as people say
