Starting to get fed up with we created enough chances to win the game boringgggggg would rather creat 2 chances and win 2-0 another chance to win a cup gone same ole same ole different manager

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I tell you what when we play them in the premiership we will murder them the difference tonight we started without Barry Mirallas. Jags Barkley Baines. 3 of them came on has sub and we began to batter them in the league match we will have our to inform players agaisnt them by the name of Barkley and Baines

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't want to see us make 2 chances, its boring and means you playing awful, rather watch good football than sit there hoping we score on the 80th min because its 0-0

Yep so were out of the league cup but personally i'm not really bothered it was a good run out for the lads and I taught we played well. The Fa cup is the big 1 and I think were going to have a very good season this year chin up blues we will all be singing again when we beat Newcastle.COYB

Let actually put our best team out and try to win something! -

deulofeu, he's good but he needs to me told there are 10 other outfield players. Shame we're out but an away tie at a premier league side is always going to be tough.

Gutted but suppose we had to lose sometime! Was a good game for the neutral! Del Boy is class but he needs to look up every now an then and release the ball, couple of times in the first half he could of put lukaku through on goal! But he's young and we only improve! I would like to see Coleman running at defenders more and whipping the ball in! I think our best starting 11 would be
Howard
Coleman jags distin baines
Gibson Barry
Del Boy Barkley mirallas
Lukaku

I would like to see that line up on Monday night, all that flair and pace under the goodison lights will certainly get the crowd buzzing!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

What no heitinga or jelavic

Agree0 Disagree0

Of all the teams i've seen posted on here since the season started. I've seen no mention of McCarthy (who wouldn't be in mine neither). I really do think we've wasted a lot of money here. How much did that Erikson cost tottenham? Let's hope he comes good anyway cause at the moment the lad looks lost in our team. So much hype yet I just don't see it!

Agree0 Disagree0

McCarthy is only 22, still a pup in football, and is naturally a quiet, modest young fella and has just become our second highest signing in our history. Give him time, he's still developing his game and personality and growing as a human being.
He will come good.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes DB appears greedy, but I have to say he has great talent and the whole point of his being loaned to us is that he learns from the experience and can go back to Barcelona, educated and better at his job. He will torture opponents at the moment and prove himself. He is a great talent.

Disgusted and angry by that tonight, yes we dominated and yes we deserved more, but there is only 2 cups we can win each season and were now out of one! I'm all for giving players a chance and using the squad, but Heitinga is just a waste of a jersey at the moment, he's static and never looks forward, gives away too many fouls and just doesn't look interested at the moment. {Ed025's Note - i have to agree..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The most annoying thing about johnny is that dumb cross field pass on an angle he loves, he wants to be xavi, sorry mate your not

Hi Ed,

I've been blue through and through for nearly 45 years. I can just remember the 68 cup final. I've been a fan of the site for a long time and I've just registered. Just wanted to say that it seemed like the end of the world when Moyes agreed to succeed SAF, but everything that has followed has shown Blue Bill, the players and the fans in the best possible light. Everton is massively respected in the south because we do everything with dignity and class and that starts with Bill, however broke he is. Couldn't be more proud of the way RM, the teams and fans have behaved. Saturday for me was another away day at West Ham keeping quiet among the home Hammers and trying not to smile. Thanks for a great site, Ed {Ed025's Note - your welcome mate...we are all very proud of our heritage SB..

We all know it Dentielaa

Agree0 Disagree0

Give it a few more months, and then ask them again.
Once they see dithering Dave has no plan b and not an ounce of tactical or technical nous in his body they may react differently.
Martinez is clearly superior tactical land technically.
They clearly don't understand or realise we're the 4th most successful team in English football history and believe football started when sly took over. We were actually more successful than them up to that point and it's only because they're media darlings they are where they are.

Article in the Express this morning, Sam Allardyce advising Roy Hodgson not to start Leighton Baines for England's next two games, because (this killed me)

“You play your best team defensively and let the attacking players attack.

“If Leighton Baines happens to play and there’s a free-kick, then get him up there. But you don’t play him just for free-kicks.”

What planet is that man on? You play him because he is arguably the best left back in the Country, who happens to be a top free kick taker. What a person.

Just ignore it WTG, two numpties on TV were saying the same last week with Kilbane on Baines side, That is why they have never moved on to better things because they are still stuck in the past mate

I would never listen to Big Sams advice and I don't think may people do either, especially Roy Hodgson

Agree0 Disagree0

Too Right Degsy, it just made me laugh that a manager who has made a career of kick the opposition off the park then lump it and run football, thinks anyone is going to take their advice seriously.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's hacked off because he lost to two brilliant free kicks! (And we outplayed em for large parts of the game on their home pitch - and with similar amounts spent of players?)

He's a professional moaner when he loses

Agree0 Disagree0

Sad thing baines has loads of ability, but when he plays for England, gerrard always takes the kicks, and does his best to take him out of the limelight, let's face it he says cole is better.

Just thought I would throw this out there everyone said David Moyes had Everton overachieving since he came to us well does anyone else think that he held us back and we actually could of achieved so much more with a more attacking manager I respect Mr Moyes for turning us into regular top 8 team but I feel he kept us from progressing look at the football we are playing so far without really conceding too many goals.
under Moyes we would of lost last Saturday that I am sure about

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think Moyes instilled a mental toughness into players along with a great work and team ethic. He would not toletate premadonnas, pretty much like Alex Ferguson.
For me I think Everton have just lacked a clinical goalscorer and to my mind although you need top players, they have to buy into the managers style, team set up and rotation policy without spitting the dummy. The more cohesive and understanding you are of each others play then the better the team is. This not only goes for on the field or training paddock, but socially too. A TEAM is a big word, because it means an awful lot and like one of the posters yesterday stated RM gets Everton. He gets what the club is about on and off the field and no doubt sets high standards. He has had a great start to life as a Toffee and long may it continue, but let's keep our feet on the ground and do what we do best no matter if your a regular at games or from further a field. The team need us now, but will also need us when we also have a bad day at the office.
Granted DM has left a sour taste in the mouth in the way he tried to deal with us, but it was time for him to fly the nest. I do wish him the best, because he is now under the worldwide spotlight. He just needs to remember that it was Everton that gave him his shot. {Ed025's Note - good and fair post that AW mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

He took us as far as he could but we should be thankful he got us this far

Agree0 Disagree0

Your bitterness against moyes is so obvious, remember against man city when everton was a man down.Did moyes back down?no
Moyes set the team to counter attack which paid off with jelavic scoring.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think moyes did well for us but I think he should have done a lot better . He had a chairman that obviously worshipped him and give him free reign which most modern day managers don't thave the privilege of. We all know what games he bottled it, semi finals etc but it was the league games a old Trafford, spurs, arsenal that even when we were in front we would sit back and the goals would be conceded. But I think now when I look back it was the negativity of the man. The poor everton punching above their weight and instead of biggin up his players he would say that baines isn't as good as cole but is getting there or how Barkley doesn't do the right thing in certain areas. For me I loved him but after the recent comments and attitude and the total breath of fresh air Roberto has brought to the club I can see a real future in store for us evertonians.l oh I forgot moyes was on £70k a week for the privilege the person ha ha

Just read an article on tv about us making Baines wait for a new contract. How stupid is that? Surely we should be trying to tie him up for a few more years rather than keep him waiting. It won't do any harm to open talks with his representatives as these things take time anyway. Or is the club trying to save face because they know he doesn't want to sign anything? Maybe I'm reading too much into this but I can't see why this has been put on hold after RM came out and told the world we would be sitting down with him and offering him fresh terms. What's going on Ed? {Ed025's Note - its all smoke and mirrors to me spud, if it were me, i would make him the highest paid player at the club, just to show the other players that loyalty is highly valued...

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I completely disagree. he has 2 years left. if we offered a new deal and said so publicly everyone would be freaking out as to why it is not signed etc.
this way the focus is on the football if a new deal is announced we will all be chuffed if there is no announcement we are not sitting around waiting for one as fans.

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree Ed, Baines is instrumental in our team so we should be showing him how much we value him by improving his current terms asap.
Svenny, my point is that a few weeks ago Martinez was telling us that he was going to offer a new contract but is now back tracking a little. I'm not asking the club to make it public, I'd expect them to do this in the background. Why come out in the press and say he has to wait for negotiations to begin? I don't see the point of taking the risk of his current contract running down, we should be proactive and instigate these talks immediately.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's not signed because he's probably going - same as Moyes

It's not rocket science

His value has gone up 10m since the weekend though because that type of top quality costs top money

Agree0 Disagree0

I work in Manchester and was speaking to a few macs and they were moanin that they will never get baines now all annoyed. These were the same lads who said they didn't want him at the start of the season as evra was better!

Think Fulham away will be tricky. Settle for a one nil maybe defoelu to score. Confident of a good season and in Roberto bringing silverware sooner. moyes built strong foundations let's give him credit for that. If he didn't disrespect our club over derisory bid he would have had my best wishes for the future. In Roberto we trust Paul c coyb.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It's tricky enough for a reasonably settled team to become comfortable with RM's new tactics and formation, but if there are a lot of changes against Fulham then the selected players will surely find it even more difficult to deliver a cohesive performance. It's great that the selected individuals will have a chance to impress and provide good competition for regular first-team places, but it's also about partnerships and team play - both of which clearly take time to gel. Fulham at home are no pushovers and we'll have to perform well - especially our key creative players who are the game-changers and match-winners - and also not make sloppy defensive mistakes plus be clinical when we make goal-scoring opportunities.

i was happy with the result on saturday but jelavic is done now he had a full season under moyes and failed and has had a few games with martinez and he is just poor he is not a 'clinical' finisher he cannot jump I've never seen him win a header, cannot take a man on, no pace and despite being 6 foot 2 he is weak as hell yes he tracks back but he has had his chance and he should now be third choice

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree with what you say but when he first came he was superb and as the saying goes form is temporary class is permanent I would start him tonight only because after he seen Lakuku on Saturday it must of hit home he is going to have to pull his socks up remember it is a world cup year as well so the jelly has really got to improve

Agree0 Disagree0

Never seen him win a header? I suppose that doesn't count his unbelievable assist to Naismith against Chelsea?

Agree0 Disagree0

It done my head in all the fans blaming moyes for "making him run the flanks" it was clear to see techinically he was not the best and he hasn't changed even with a new manager, fell for him first 6 months not so easy now

Agree0 Disagree0

Jelavic is nothing but average at best. Regular readers shouldn't be surprised though as a few of the Eds were spot on with predicting how his Everton career would pan out. I say get rid of him asap while we can still get some money back from him.

Agree0 Disagree0

It goes without saying that he hasn't hit the heights of when he first arrived but I would take him over Kone every time. Surely he will come good again and maybe the threat of a better striker (Lukaku) will help him up his game. Not won a header? It was him who headed the ball back to Naismith for the goal that beat Chelsea!

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Sep 2013 16:50:07
id hardly call that winning a header I mean when someone plays the ball to him he always loses out

Agree0 Disagree0

I think jelly is done. I thought we had a steal at first but he is not up to the standard we need. See vic was on bench for WBA on saturday? We need to sound Chelsea out about if there is any chance of lukaku staying permant and have him, kone and mirallas as our three strikers next season with Gerry playing mirallas role or ince

Albo

Agree0 Disagree0

Get rid in Jan. Hamburg were umming and ahhing last window. We wanted 6m all up front. I'd take it in installments. Would then just need to get rid of Kone somehow for what we paid and start again. Lukaku will do nicely for now, but next season when we sign a permanent striker, we have to get it right because let's face it : Beattie, Johnson, Yakubu, Jelavic, Kone. Paid a lot of money for that lot and none really delivered. Kone admittedly hasn't had the chance, but he just looks a bit sausage and mash

I should just like to state my opinion once again that I believe firmly that Football works in Eras'. always has & always will. David Moyes helped greatly to put this great Club of ours on a sound financial footing and has now left for Man Utd.but I don't think they will win a trophy at all this season and Manchester United without Alex Ferguson has lost all its "Wow Factor". It wasn't just Manchester United as a top Club that all the worlds' top players wanted to play for, it was for Ferguson "The star maker" as players believe. and he was, the man was unequalled in his molding of young players from home and abroad and turned them into superstars. Unfortunately, Moyes hasn't got that and players from abroad don't know much about him at all, and the squad at utd is on the decline and is ageing also. Fellaini has gone to Utd at the wrong time and it will be a long while before Utd rule the roost again. Hopefully Leighton Baines will see this and look at what Martinez is trying to do here at Everton and stay for the rest of his career, at a Club where He is worshipped. The Grass ain't always Greener and who's to say this might not be the start of a very successful Everton Era?
Street End Boy {Ed003's Note - Interesting point about Eras but the prem money and/or mega investors seem to have stopped that route,Your crush on Ferguson also is interesting.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

There was a feeling (we all thought it) that Leighton wouldn't sign a contract extension and the news this morning seems to confirm that. Don't get me wrong unlike some other players (not at this Club), Leighton has not only been the best left back in the Country (my opinion) but an absolutely model professional and utmost respect to the lad.
