well done everton for not letting price walk out to the other lots song for his fight must admit i had a little chuckle when i heard that if it was the other way round they would do the same. if the fight was at anfeild he could have held hands with his trainer and promoter and done the oaky kokey towards the kop.

Well it's not going very well at all for the Everton board is it in there hunt for a new manager with various press reports tonight reporting that Koeman has decided to sign a 2 contract extension to stay at Southampton after swapping agents.

what with Jose opting for Man united, Favre to Nice, Emery staying at Sevilla and now Koeman staying. obviously they no longer see Everton as a big club. come on board sell yourselves and show these geezers the potential at our club. I can only see a Pellegrini left now who has a cv of genuine achievements made in a top league,

I've gone off De a Boer and definitely don't want the ginger rat back. I guess there might still be a little hope with Emery from Seville but failing that for me that just leaves Pellegrini.

i really don't think it will be months before we have a new manager, hopefully it will be soon.

Agree0 Disagree1

24 May 2016 23:29:50
not sure about pelligrini watching on the touchline he doesn't inspire me he doesn't really do a lot. it would have to be de boer for me. i have seen him on the touch line and he really does let rip on occasions. pelligrini was manager of the richest club in the world and they only made 4th on goal difference and were beaten to the title by a group of journey men and rejects.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 May 2016 23:50:47
Blue imp I didn't say it would be months. I said it could be. I hope its soon too. But the most important thing for me is to appoint the right man for the job. If that means waiting 3 months, so be it. As long as the right man for the club is appointed.

Agree2 Disagree0

25 May 2016 00:09:57
If it was between Pellagrini and De Boer I go for De Boer. both the same by all accounts in there style of play. if rumours of Overmars being hunted for director of football role are true, then I gave a sneaky suspicion De Boer may get the gig.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 May 2016 00:11:07
In my opinion, like Joe Hart want to join us? Champions league football, challenging for top spot to a team who has underachieved and finished 11th two seasons, with no manager.
I think we need a high profile manager to entice the players in and I don't believe Pellegrini is. Big players went to Man City for big wages, not for him unfortunately.

Agree2 Disagree0

25 May 2016 00:49:46
pelligrini knew he had lost his job 4 months ago and you are slagging him off for only finishing fourth, How would you perform if you knew you were getting the sack at work?

Agree0 Disagree0

25 May 2016 06:43:45
RoyalPaul, it isn't just down to the Manager but it is down to his backroom Staff and over Pellegrini's tenure City have won the League, won the Capital Cup this season (beating some little Club) and qualified for the Champions League every season. Martinez brought his failed Staff with him and that added to his lack of man-management skills did it for us.

I promised myself I wouldn't spend any money on the club until Bobby was sacked and we had things sorted. I have broken and got a pair of the headphones. Anyone that has the spare cash should. The Everton in the Community project is awesome wins awards every year and this is a good one. Buy a pair of headphones if you can even if you ship em off as a pressie to someone.

I am going to put my head on the proverbial chopping block and suggest a new name never suggested before, CARLO ANCELOTTI. I think he is a very underrated manager, never caused any ripples and I feel a damn good manager. He is a free agent I THINK.

I feel anybody but Moyes it is never good to bring back former managers. I know people will cite JM but I feel he was the exception rather than the norm. One only has to look at Kendall when he returned. I would rather the fat Spanish waiter, despite his "small team" comments, rather than Moyes.

People are here thinking that because we have more money this time that things would be different, NO! He had money to spend with utd look where that ended, himself and club. Appointing Moyes would be an unmitigated disaster and a further step backwards. Who would he buy first maybe Fellaini again.
Well enough of a rant what do you guys think.

Why was Moyes a failure at Utd? Never understand people saying that. I can see why people give out about how he left Everton and also understand why people don't want him back. Failure at Utd? Because he was sacked? They are not exactly the top team in Europe since he left after spending over £300m and still end up playing youth.

In hindsight after his sacking at Utd imho he got a raw deal.

Agree1 Disagree2

24 May 2016 23:29:35
maybe it was his league position, and his poor play, that's why he failed at united.

Agree2 Disagree2

24 May 2016 23:54:33
O right blue imp. It was all Moyes was it. They started doing so well when he left then. Tell me what position di they finish the season after he left? After spending all that money? The seaon after that where did they finish?

They were a lot better off when Moyes left? Don't think many will agree that they were in any way shape or form a success since he left them.

Before you all go crazy I don't want moyes back but to all those people going what backwards step it would be just think about it it can not get anymore boring than Spanish bob last season was awful yes we had a few high scoring games but we lost the lot (great fun) yes we would go 1nil up and moyes would bring on a defender to win the match most often it worked (very boring winning a match) we have just watched Spanish bob destroy this teams confidence a still very much moyes team (but 3 years older) with expection on a couple of players. the team we have at the min and don't forget takeaway Howard, stones and the pain in the ass rom then this team is going to be in the bottom half yes we have money do we really want a manager who knows nothing about the prem or do we need someone to steady the ship for a year or 2 because we are in for a shock if we think we are going to spend 100m and everything is going to be OK it takes time guys that's why I would like Koeman he knows the league I just think we could all be begging for moyes in December to save us .

I want a manager who will inspire, who will play attractive football, who will draw other players to Everton despite not being able to offer euro footy. that is not moyes Imo. What kind of message would it b if we offered him his old job despite his failings at msn u and sociedad? It says that we will settle for mediocrity. Id rather try a new manager and fall below par than take moyes back.

Agree1 Disagree2

24 May 2016 21:38:41
if we were to take him bavk it will turn the crowd against the club again, and it will show that Bill and our new owner have very little ambition for the club.

Agree0 Disagree2

24 May 2016 21:43:15
Konehead don't give it the I don't want Moyes back and then sell him to us for 3 paragraphs. We all know what Moyes did for us, did being the key word. It's in the past, it's a chapter and it's done.

I would view it as a massive gamble more so than employing you Konehead to bring him back as it's just something that's finished. Two bad results and we would be screaming blue murder.

Emry isn't going to happen, Koeman isn't going to happen based on new deals signed and very clear statements to the media. I'm guessing it will be De Boer potentially Pelligrini i would be keen on Howe but I know a majority are not. Who ever it is I will back them but Moyes has too much baggage and is just a problem waiting to happen.

Agree0 Disagree1

24 May 2016 23:25:31
Jcl1878 ideally we all want that. We all want a manager that will do everything right. Sign the right players, play the right players, play the right tactics. Reality is that has never happened and every manager has his faults. Not saying Moyes is the man just saying whoever the manager is he will have faults. He won't be perfect. No matter who it is.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 May 2016 23:58:34
So you've made up your mind that it would be a failure even before he even started blue imp? Talk about not giving people a chance. No matter if he won things if he came back you'd probably still call him a failure. As I said before if Mike Walker came back and was a success I'd be delighted. Guess not all fans think that way and just want to see the club to do well.

Agree1 Disagree0

24 May 2016 19:58:31
Tend to agree with another poster that Koeman needs to play his hand and he hasn't yet committed to a contract extension at Southampton before we get a decision.

I'm sure Moshiri would have read the mood of the fans before Martinez departure. I'm sure also than he wants a manager who will unite and enthuse the supporters.

The last thing we need is more unrest. For me a Moyes appointment would divide us. Don't look backwards.

Don't believe anything the papers say you could make all these stories up every manager mentioned would be the same ones you could reel off, saw one paper this morning saying we are preparing 40m bid for Joe Hart, do you honestly believe we would spend that without the manager in place.
I believe Moshiri is taking his time interviewing the people where he can speak with them without having to ask clubs,
People keep slating Moyes and yes I was annoyed about the things he said and did when he went to Utd but he took the biggest job in football on.
I look at his reign at Everton and the guy was finishing top 8 consistently with half the talent this squad has.
I'm not saying we should get him back but I would rather him back than half the names mentioned don't think for one minute that Emery just cause he has one 3 Europa leagues would be a success he would not win it competing in our league.
Koeman for me
De boer 2nd

Think there's a few blues on here that need to give their heads a wobble. A manager that got his club to the champs league semi last year isn't good enough for us and joe hart isn't a good enough keeper for us.

Can I just remind you our last manager was a championship manager when we got him and his first choice keeper at the end of the season was the 2nd choice keeper for a team that got relegated.

There is a lot of understandable anger towards moyes, but I wouldn't lose too much sleep if he returned for the following reasons;
1) 'influenced' some great signings - Cahill, Martin, arteta, stones list goes on.
2) consistently top 6 Inc champ league on a limited budget.
3) prior to leaving we were playing some great football which wasn't always defensive.
I'm in the minority I know, and maybe it would show a lack of ambition but with a big budget we could unlock his potential? He would certainly be a safe option. I for one was gutted when he left, but initially made up with the performance of Martinez, but in hind sight that success was a lot to do with the moyes discipline - we could see similar next season with Leicester, and that is no disrespect to Leicester, but Pearson had put a lot of good things in place.

Agree1 Disagree0

24 May 2016 17:16:28
Read the Elliot Bretland article from the echo online Everton rumours, about how we should give Moyes a big swerve. Then come back and tell me you wouldn't lose sleep over his return Avro. I don't know if its already been done, but Ed025 could you possibly put a poll up on wether people would like Moyes back? I for one wouldn't let that snake 100 miles near Goodison park.

How any Everton supporter can say they would have him back baffles me. The man gave us an inferiority complex and is probably more to blame than Rafa for the small club jibe as he acted like that's what we were with comments like knife to a gunfight. Well Davey Leicester just won that gunfight with a plastic knife so what would be the excuse now? Remember in his 11 years we never won at Anfield, Old Trafford, Arsenal or Chelsea and we always lined up and played not to lose or just turned up and rolled over.

I like Southampton but they are a funny lot of fans. Went on there page last week to see what there take on the koeman thing was, to read how a move to us would be a step down as they have finished above us the last 2 seasons. Looked on there yesterday as rumours are stronger about koeman and see if they were talking about it, and read chat about the ox wouldn't join Leicester over them as they are a bigger club. Surly by there logic Leicester are now bigger than them.

3 Player trading
