Hiya lads and ladies. Footballing aside. Just wanted to extend a big thank you to the Eds for their effort this season. Wasnt as frequent as I have been, but as usual the Ed's kept us informed anyway they could and updated the site too which was cool.

Put that season behind us.

Onto the busy transfer window now. JUST HOPE WE don't SIGN Cleverly Evans or Blackett.

I think Distin deserves some credit, he's been great to the club for quite a long time and it was just unfortunate that, like many players, he started to tail off in his final season. He gave a cracking farewell message and you can tell the club has meant a lot to him. As for whatever it was that happened between him and rm, he showed that it hasn't damaged his love for the club. I would have liked to see him start today, considering our season already was already over and we had little to play for. Anyway much respect from me, and I hope many other evertonians, to a player that has been great for us in many a game.

I can take or leave Distin. He had a go at the fans a few times during and after games and his falling out with Martinez points to a rather spiky personality. I wish him well though as he has been a good servant for the club over the years.

So Roberto believes his team Will learn from some tough lessons this year.
Will they Roberto, Will they really?
I hope to God you are right lad because we play as bad as we have this year then you are out before next November.

Now the dust has settled; Mr Kenwright, you claim to be a great evertonion, then with respect, and in the interest of our club, it is time for you to stand aside. The stability you claim to bring, is in fact stagnation, you have turn this once great club, from a main contender for major honours, into a mid table also ran, with not the least hope of improvment. However, before you go, your last act should be to correct your last major error and remove Martinez, this man is not fit to run one of this countries great clubs. Yourself, the manager, and the ceo, should all find new employment before between you, you bring this club to it's knees.

This is not a knee jerk reaction, and I know I've spoken at length about Ross before, but today was quite a defining moment for me, because he just isn't equipped to be a great footballer and in fact it makes him a nuisance on the field. There was a moment in the 1st half where he was mid way between our penalty box n half way, Spurs were on the ball and he legged it towards our penalty box, stopped and legged it towards the half way line, no one around him wasnt marking anyone or marking space, then back at midway again he stopped his head all over the place and scratched his head. Now that is worrying for me. He has all the balance and skills but his actual game understanding is so poor, he even passed the ball twice in succession to Spurs players when no Everton player was there. A decision has to be made, not on the lines of ohh he's only 21 nonsense that keeps coming out, but on the basis of can he manage a game, does he understand how it plays n pans out, i'm sorry but he just hasn't got it, he's clueless at the moment and it showed in the first 5 minutes of 2nd half Ossie playing in Ross' role did more than Ross did in the entire 45 mins and continued to do more.Personally with the numbers being quoted for him i'd sell, because we can't be hoping n wishing for him to suddenly understand a game of football, get 2 or 3 in with that money who do.

I disagree, Barkley definitely has the ability. Martinez has done something to that kid and the rest of the dressing room this season, we can all see it in the players. No one is playing with the drive and cofidence of last season. Hopefully Distin will reveal everything soon

thing is manno, while no one has been consistently brilliant, near enough everyone has had good individual spells this season. Lukaku with 20 goals, jags and stones partership etc. yet, barkley hasn't had a single good game all season, bar maybe qpr but let's be honest, phil neville could of bossed qpr's midfield. I also don't get it, he's done nothing when he's played for england, wasnt very good when moyes played him and hasn't exactly been phenominal under martinez. 3 managers, the age thing is a ridiculous excuse, look at rom, stones and besic, all the sane age and are much more mature and streets ahead in terms of how they fit into the team. The position excuse is also silly as he has played behind lukaku for a while now. He has 2 assists in 104 games. Not to mention only 12 goals. That is a really bad record. Now while I've had a go at degsy about mccarthy's record being irrelevant, for barkley, who plays in a much more advanced position, that is appalling. But it isn't just his goal/assist contribution that annoys me. Its how isolated he leaves lukaku by running around, not knowing where to be. he's like rodwell, a headless chicken who runs around trying to look busy. I understand decision making being a bit off at his age but whereas stones and lukaku are vastly improving theirs, his is getting worse. Aiden mcgeady has more assists this season than barkley has in his entire football career. He doesn't look like ever improving and looks to be getting worse with each game. The excuses are also wearing thin, 'Hes out of position!'-not anymore and is still bad. 'He played in the world cup'-what a dead rubber match vs costa rica, ha. 'He broke his leg'-it happened 4 years ago, will this be getting said in another 4 years?. 'The fans are on his back!'-are you suprised? I don't get all the excuses for him, maybe its because he's a local lad, the fans that love barkley are the same that hate lukaku, I know who i'd rather have.

Spot on. Everyone is being blinkered and don't want to admit he's not going to be the Ballack, Gascoigne nonsense that has been thrown at him. Jeeez I want to be wrong, but its not hard to see he hasn't got that football maturity, its obvious. I think even Martinez was embarrassed by his performance yesterday, it was bordering on being drunk in charge of a football nit was that bad. Galloway showed more understanding yesterday of what was needed, drive, looking for the pass, moving in space and yes he made a couple of errors but you can excuse that when he's giving a footballing shift. The only shift from Ross yesterday was from his head not knowing what to do, to say its Martinez fault is ridiculous, he big's him up too much for my liking but he's giving him confidence and license to do as he wants and excuses his decision making and still Ross can't perform. Mourinho will struggle to get anything out of him believe me, the only saving grace he will have there is he'll have better players around him and he'll be a bit part player, just to fill in the number of English players quota they need,

Does anyone know for certain what went on between Martinez and Distin?
I was watching when he came on today and as Martinez was giving him instructions Distin just stared straight ahead and refused to even look at him.
Great reception from the fans for the big man, wish him the best of luck wherever he ends up.

Dave, you cannot be serious, poor at qpr and city. Finishing 9th with stoke isn't that good, not to mention the football is basically the same cept they bought a few shorter players.

Swan. I'll still back him with us. Managers have to learn, he doesn't have a great deal of money with QPR and Stoke and I don't think he had much at City. I like his determination, no fancy football, just plan to find the weaknesses of the opposition.

Howard-6-i don't know, I just really don't want him as our number 1. Coleman-5-he must be the worst crosser at the club, I moan about baines but at least his crosses stay in play, he doesn't look bothered and refuses to go forward. Stones-8-goal aside I thought he was boss, carried the ball and did some lovely tackles. Jagielka-6.5-does he know how to pass? He just launches it out for a throw in, well done. Galloway-7.5-did well today, got forward, tackled well and showed a bit of passion. Mccarthy-6-i love him but he was dreadful today, struggled on the ball and kept messing up when he tried to tackle. Barry-6-like mccarthy he was bad today, better in the ball but strugfled to win the ball. Mirallas-6-nothing worked for him, remember moyes' last season when he was doing tricks and beating people? Now he just runs in zig zags. Osman-6.5-did well with galloway and unlucky with the volley. Barkley-4.5-i know I will get shot for this and told he was brilliant but I thought he was terrible. Casing point, he's supposed to be a number 10 (like silva, eriksen, coutinho, mata and ozil etc) yet whereas they support the striker and try to provide service to the striker. Lukaku is on the edge of the spurs penalty area when we are on the ball and barkley is in our half. Also, does he have no common sense? He had the chance to turn round and run but instead launched the ball at galloway in our box who had 3 players around him. Also, I laugh at sterlings run, have you seen barkleys? Its like watching a blind ferret in a minefield. Lukaku-6-he was bad but as usual, had no service and was stuck on the wing. Besic-7-boss isn't he, gives his all and moves the ball quickly, worried he's going. Naismith-6-hiya naisy, distin-6-he should of put kone on as we needed to go forward but brought him on, to be fair if he hadnt he would of been ridiculed so he can't win either way. We were terrible, made up with distins reception. The season is over. THANK. GOD.
