So Wanyama signs for Spurs and Mane is linked with a move to Liverpool, maybe this was another major contributing factor in Koeman leaving to start a project with ourselves. Shame as us Blues know what it is like to be deemed a feeder club for the bigger sides, just happy that it is now not the case and we can build with our better players in mind. I have been am advocate in the past of letting Rom go if he wants due to the disrespect he has shown us but if he stays and decides to give it a go with a new man at the helm well let's put that in the past and move on. Just glad we are in a position of not needing to sell to balance books and only having to sell if a player is unhappy and seeks a move.

Doesn't get much better new investment, new manager and David Cameron resigns there is a god 😃.

I wish I could agree mate. but in my view. we have not yet kicked a ball under this managaer, and whilst I am hopeful, I know the squad is defficient in many places. Lots of money still does not attract the very top players because they nearly always want Champions League or at least Europa League football. The manager did well at Southampton but they did not exactly win the league. Ranieri did better at Leicester! And Cameron looks like Boris Johnson and idiot Grove joining forces to replace him. Excited? Yes. Not much better than this? I can thinkof lots of ways things could be better. I have probably got less hair than you mate, but have seen all this enthusiasm so many times at Everton only for the reality to turn out to be somewhat different. Caution is how I am feeling. let's see in 10 games time.

Brexit aside Degsy n/ a . . . When BK finally got 'his man' i. e. RM, I felt like a deflated balloon (like so many others no doubt) knowing sooner or later he would destroy the very solid foundations he inherited!

This time it's about a very capable RK rebuilding a side that lacks 'winning mode'
Caution yes however only as a measured portion to a tasty looking dish!

Wish I could join in with it all Blue247 but I really do think RM let the squad deteriorate by allowing our better players key positions reach the end of their careers without successive planning. ie replacements. Then he made some very very poor signings. We all like to think we know a bit about football and players but I can remember some very heated debates with other posters about signing: Kone, Alcaraz, Barry, McGeady and Lennon. To some degree Barry and Lennon have proved me wrong. but let's fce it, Barry looks like he is running through wet cement and gets booked every game. Lennon did it for 1 season with Spurs then faded. His end product did improve, but was never top stuff. Mirallas is miles better in my humble opinion but was hardly picked by RM. I won't go into all the ins and outs but those additions plus the ageing of Hibbert, Osman, Pienaar, Barry, Howard and possibly Jags mean our squad is no where near the quality it was 3 seasons ago. I will just mention Kone. At 6 million we signed a 30 ish year old coming to the end of his career. I would want Messi for tht money at that age lol!

Just wondering is RK only intrested in players at the European championship, just spurs have signed wayama or what ever way you spell it, I just wondered if RM is waiting for the team to get back to training so he can see what players he needs, I see a lot of gossip but it's all apart from nani Dutch players and I'm sure that won't be the case, I see a lot of players who are very good but in a bad team or wasted at there present team, surely we should be trying asap to get players in if stated this is going to be a big transfer window, they will need time to bed into the team or league if from out side the premiership.

Although he will obviously have a decent knowledge of our first team, I would be surprised if he went after any major targets until he has observed them in training. Also until he looks what is available in the academy (he has already said he will not go buy a player if we have sufficient young talent to cover the position) . Only really exception I can see is he has identified someone as being crucial to the way he wants us to play.

I would imagine he knows his targets, he will also want to weigh up the current squad and reserves.

Nice comments from Steven Pienaar on Twitter thanking Everton but "especially" the fans for his time in the Premier League.
