everyone going on about selling players. Am i the only one that wants to keep all our players ie rodders, jags etc. fair enough get rid of yobo, we need to realise we are skint, we gt no money and we do not need to be selling our top players. And for some1 to make a comment about jags is aging at 28 and worth selling needs there head testing, therfore ferdinand, terry, vidic etc are aging and past it. Get a grip.

Jags is in his prime and will be for a few years yet, i think moyes priority is to keep hold of our better players and youngsters and build for a successful future, thats why a quality striker would be enough to bring in this summer {Ed025's Note - i could not agree more...nice one..

Agree0 Disagree0

Jags is a future everton captain if he stays and the player is giving no indication he wants to go to arsenal {Ed025's Note - so hes not going..

There has been a lot of press rubbish about the price everton might take for Jag's. Anyone who think that they would get a conversation with Moyes, below 25 mill, is deranged. {Ed025's Note - i would hope so!..

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Everton don't sell cheap and wenger doesn't like spending big, thats why jags will probably stay {Ed025's Note - i hope so..

I watched an open training session with the blues the other day in the US and to my amazement anichebe looks unbelievable, really slimmed down and was flying past jagielka and distin all training. If he takes training into games he could be a handfull

Believable3 Unbelievable4

He is actually a pacey player but he has a poor attitude on the field, too busy smacking the ground in frustration when he loses it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Anichebe has looked good in our pre season games so far, should we not give him a go on the wing like we did against city last season? {Ed025's Note - no!

Agree0 Disagree0

Anichebe is a decent squad player and thats about it, he needs a championship club to move for him.He would be fine for a top half championship team {Ed025's Note - i agree mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

Good, i just thought i'd i would mention it, it was a grwat experience to watch the toffee's train.
Leon Osman and Mikel Arteta were the stand out's both really skillfull and Tim Cahill was having the most fun, laughing at everyone and also to mention the young guys looked really good, gueye and barkley especially.
I hope we don't sell anyone this season, maybe bring in a forward on loan and give bilyaletdinov one more season, if he still not up to scratch, sell him at the end of next season and use the money to buy the loan forward (providing he has been successful)
Anyone agree ? {Ed025's Note - i agree with most of it..but feel we need a forward now!..

If arsenal are really in for jagielka, then I hope it's true as bad as it sounds, but it's not really as bad as it sounds, think fellow evertonians you might think I'm daft but look, 15-20m in kill of some debt even if motes don't get money off it, he is aging he's about 26-27, however if we get rid of him Scott Dan will nit be an alternative he's a kopite but anyways 15m is decent throw Rodwell at the back with heitinga, then if moyes doesn't get the money questions need to be asked like how much are we in debt but look Barkley Coleman Baxter, then look current squad, then look injury problems we need to get signing

Believable1 Unbelievable1

We definitely need players to boost our smallish squad, rodwell will be great in a few years time as he will be a very competent midfielder and defender thats why he will be a big asset for whoever he plays for then, hopefully it will be us {Ed025's Note - hopefully mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

With arteta being injured and fellaini not being 100% yet our squad needs boosting now before the season starts. {Ed025's Note - iv been saying that all along..

Agree0 Disagree0

If jags goes, Moyes will start playing rodwell at CB thats where he is going to end up playing anyway

---fox---

I don't know is it as a compliment that someone is using my name for the Zaki rumour obviously a red sh*te...

Ed surely u can control them from spreading poison. {Ed007's Note - Sorry, I was just tidying up on the pages there and saw your post. Is your name "fox"? If so I can leave a marker for editors to note that any your posts must have your "tag" (the part in the e-mail field). That is really the only way we can do it without hunting through loads of IP numbers.}

bellamy on loan {Ed025's Note - i think he would do a great job for us, hes got pace, and he can finish...so lets hope so..

Yes please

Bellamy looks fit and raring to go, he would add to our attacking options and score us plenty of goals

Agree0 Disagree0

I would take bellamy and onuhoa from city, both decent players

rodwell was valued at 25m last season then because he has not been improving it has gone down to 20m, man utd are ready to make a deal in the next week with a 15m other + diouf or welbeck on loan. {Ed025's Note - fergie has said that he has finished spending, but accoding to reports...hes after schneider, so i doubt he will go for rodders..

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I was told about 3 months back that its Barkley that Utd want not Rodwell, the only team to show any kind of interest in Rodwell has been Spurs.

Agree0 Disagree0

Barkley will surely continue his development at goodison, as with the lack of signings he is likely to get his chance next season

Just ANOTHER observation on squad numbers. Against DC United most players are wearing their normal number with a few exceptions. Rodwell is 4, Coleman is 2, Victor is 8 (what about Saha?) and McAlany is 11. Moyes has never seemed to attach much importance to shirt numbers but could these be hints about our line up and pecking orders for next season?

By the way, Beckford and Gauye look in good form.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Beckford and gueye I thought played really well also, Jan Mucha made a really good display aswell I thought. All the team looked very fatigued though hopefully this pre season heat will pay off and help increase fitness levels further.. Who knows we may get the start to a season we have dreamed of for years. {Ed025's Note - lets hope so mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

Pre-season numbers have no relovance to actual official number, every player in the starting 11 normally has a number between 1-11.

Agree0 Disagree0

I've watched both the US friendlies and went to Bury, the players are wearing their usual squad numbers with the changes mentioned above in both the US games. Like I've said, Moyes just seems to give a player whatever numbers are free but there still could be some clues in there somewhere. Just sayin... {Ed025's Note - its a big clue...no-one is coming!

Agree0 Disagree0

I cant criticise you because i was wondering why the yak was no 9 agaisnt Bury but i have now realised that the players are just given a shirt with the number 1-11 on it but if the player for instance beckford wants still to play in his no 16 shirt perhaps because of superstition and what not then he can just ask for one

A positive performance definitely. Is it me or did Bily look a bit quick for a second there? I thought it was somebody else Top finish from Vic, if he could do that on a regular basis he might be worth something to us.

Agree0 Disagree0

There were lots of Everton fans at this game - I cannot understand why we don't sell Everton merchandise at these games, we would have cleaned up. I would estimate at least 4,000 Toffees at the game, perhaps more.
First half, Cahill looked brillinat in central mid. He bossed the game, was almost Xavi-esque in terms of being available for short passes. Alas, many of our guys seemed unwilling to use the option he provided. I thought Timmy looked more effective in this position than Arteta has for over a year.
Barkley - must be the most confient 17 year old around - and with good reason. I see why Cahill rates him so highly.
Vic looked good for 28 minutes then seemed to run out of steam. Bily played the best I've seen for the first 25, then reverted to giving the ball away. Rodwell - OK, but nothing special.
Second half - Gueye looked decent, took his chance well. Heitinga looked like the best CD on display for the 35 minutes (or so ) he was on. Becks is sooooooooooo frustrating, how many times does he make the wrong decision, he's been taking Faddy lessons - and then he sets up Gueye magnificently.

No new signings ... We'll be lucky to stay out if administration with the way our finances are ...
On a brighter note - expect Ross Barkley to make a big impact this season

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Barkley looks an exciting prospect, he just needs to get an injury free run to fully show his potential
