To swap Ross Barkley ( Loves Everton) with a muppet who absolutely and disgustingly disrespected our club is a disgrace. don't care if your Messi or a Sunday League player, disrespect our Club, I don't want you. There are other players out their, however if he comes to our club I will be very angry with Everton proving we have no backbone. Let him rot at spurs.

could we have a poll on those who do not want sisskoe at our club, I think the disrespect he has already shown the club, rules him out, but, I Guess others might have a differant view.

Sissoko Poll

24 Dec 2016 19:57:18
If we have a poll, I would guess Kenwright, Koeman and Moshiri would vote against having him now after the way he embarrassed them and stitched them up in the media. He behaved disgracefully.

Van Dijk came out saying he wants to play at the highest level. Does that rule us out? Does it rule us in? I suspect there would be a lot of convincing to do to bring him to Goodison. I'd imagine a lot of the top clubs would be interested. Our neighbours across the way are in desperate need of a CB.

Ed002 any info available on Van Dijk?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Evereton has not shown any interest in him, the price would be a major issue and obviously Everton are not feeding at the top table. Liverpool has no shortage of centre backs and have also shown no interest in him.}

24 Dec 2016 14:17:08
Thank you Ed002. Thought it was a position that the Reds would look to strengthen but obviously not. Given their position in the table also thought they would be attractive to Van Dijk.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - They added two centre backs in the summer and already have Lovren, Gomez, Ilori on the books in addition to Sakho who will be leaving. It would not be a priority.}

If this is true I'll be sick. Sissoko disrespected our club he didn't even have the balls to tell us. This chap has no heart whatsoever often a passenger. We need creative players not a mercenaries.

I like him as a player. but he used us for the move and wage he wanted with Spurs. Let him stay there and rot in their reserves.

I expect Everton - and every other club - to be gathering information about many, many players, and to be regularly monitoring them via their scouting network, and to have "registered an interest" (whatever that might mean! ) in a select few of them, and even to be actively pursuing the possibility of an actual transfer.
I've little doubt that the various clubs' scouts and staff, the players' agents and representatives, the journalists and pundits, etc., know each other well and stories in the media will originate from some conversation or some sighting at a particular match or event.
I'd also imagine that there are plenty of stories with little or no factual evidence to back them up, but rather are speculation to fill column-inches in newspapers or be click-bait on websites.
As long as newspapers are being read and websites are getting hits, then the advertising revenue will keep coming -, and that's surely what the publishers want.
A real problem is that only a handful of transfer stories in the media are actually original (let alone "exclusive"! ) - most are repeated by websites, blogs, other journos, etc., that trawl the internet, etc., for any reference to a club or player.
The fact that the same story appears in many places does NOT make it any more true, . On the other hand, it doesn't mean that the story doesn't have some credibility. It's up to the fans to take these stories with a pinch of salt and try not to get too carried away.

It may also cause the creation of specific club banter page and rumour page web-sites Sid. So that the club's fans can share all this info and even create some new rumours that are based on "gut feel" and nothing much else!

In our currently registered Premier League aged-over-21 squad, we have 25 (the maximum allowed ) players.
Of these, 13 are non-homegrown, while the remaining 12 are homegrown.
Some of our homegrown players might surprise you, but they qualify as such because of the time they spent at English (or Welsh) clubs before they turned 21.
The 13 non-homegrown players are: Besic, Bolasie, Coleman, Deulofeu, Funes Mori, Gana, Kone, Mirallas, Niasse, Oviedo, Robles, Stekelenburg and Valencia.
The 12 homegrown players are: Baines, Barkley, Barry, Browning, Cleverley, Gibson, Jagielka, Lennon, Lukaku, McCarthy, Pennington and Williams.
We also have 4 other aged-over-21 players who are not registered in our squad (they were either sent out on loan or just plain omitted) : 2 non-homegrown (McGeady and Rodriguez) and 2 homegrown (Garbutt and McAleny) . By the way, I never understood why Niasse was actually included in the squad, as RK was never going to select him to play.
Our younger players (Holgate, Calvert-Levin, Davies, etc. ) won't have to be named in the 25-man squad until they turn 21.
We are allowed no more than 17 non-homegrown players in the registered aged-over-21 squad, so we are comfortably within that at present. All other players in the squad must therefore (obviously! ) be homegrown.
For European competition squads (CL and EL) , the rules for registering homegrown players and aged-under-21 players are even stricter, but that's not relevant to Everton this season - and maybe not next!
It'll be interesting imho to see how the balance of the squad changes during the January (and then the Summer) transfer window.

Ross my still go on to be the player we all hoped he would be, however, right now, we need the finished arctical, if he is the big evertonion, then come back when your 27, and proved your the real deal, but at this moument in the clubs development, we need someone who can go and perform week in week out.
I realey do wish him well, and would love to see him come back in the future, and in our new home, win it all, but for now, i think he has to move on, for his sake and the clubs.

All this media chat by pundits about whether or not Barkley should leave Everton for the sake of HIS career is irrelevant imho. It's the needs of Everton Football Club that must surely come first in this situation.
The club employs Ronald Koeman as manager and its up to him to select the player (s) he wants in his team and squad. If any player is not part of his plans, then the club should imho move that player out asap. If the club start dictating who can and who cannot be transferred in and out (subject to finance of course! ) , then the manager's position becomes untenable. At Everton, we've seen previous mangers (Kendall and Royle) resign on this principle.
Of course, I don't wish any ill will on Barkley - and he deserves the best career he can have - but if, at 23, he's not producing what the manager wants, then replace him with a player that hopefully will.
There are no absolute guarantees that a new player joining us would be an improvement, and a player leaving us might indeed flourish elsewhere, BUT there comes a point with every player when the time (or the price! ) is right and he should move on.
It's such a pity when so much obvious talent hasn't delivered consistent performances - just occasional flashes of brilliance and all too frequent instances of frustration and poor decision making. If I knew the answer, I'd be a manager earning millions and winning trophies, but I don't and so I'm just an opinionated fan hoping to enjoy a successful Everton.

Fair point Sid. Just think with better players around him he would achieve. And that's my worry if he goes to Spurs mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Dec 2016 10:53:54
Barkley has surely had better players around him when selected for England (although I accept that's questionable! ) and he's not set the world alight, so it's still a moot point imho regarding his true effectiveness.

24 Dec 2016 11:34:59
Not really Sid, I can recall that clown Hodgeson screaming at him every time he touched the ball. It's sad that in this country we appear happy to sacrifice flair for hard work.

24 Dec 2016 12:31:31
The sign at Finch Farm reads something like: Hard work will beat talent if talent doesn't work hard.
It's a cliche, but it holds true in football in my experience.

Name any Everton player that has been consistent over the last few years, not 1 springs to mind!
So why pick on Barkley?

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Dec 2016 16:48:01
Always worked for me Cowpat at my level (combined services) many many years ago now. Never considered myself as skillful as some (I was two footed and considered quick) who I was picked above so had to be down to hard work and application.

24 Dec 2016 16:50:43
Sidsut the pace of the modern game makes it practically impossible for players to be 100 percent consistent but I would name Baines, Coleman and maybe Jags.

24 Dec 2016 19:14:32
Re sid sutton on players consistency tim cahill and Lee carsley maybe Steven pienaar for two years before his spurs move and a season after he came back but barkley has had it in his head put there by the Spanish lunatic that even when you play rhubarb your still great and that's the problem that a lot of are players still think but can't come to terms when ronald koeman tells them different.
