I touched on this last week and stand by my comment that we have got one hell of a goalkeeper in Pickford, nice to see Calvert-Lewin improving and will only get better, once these players start to gel we are going to have one hell of a team, even Martina is looking decent at right back, not bad with Coleman to come back and also Jonjoe Kenny, so just be a little patient fellow Blues and sit back and watch this team click, if we land a centre forward will do for me.

Would like to post a special mention to the gaffa for his tactics and instilling game management into the lads. Having watched both europa ties possession was key to managing the game and getting through to the group phase. Don't personally think we got out of 3rd gear in either match and a lot more to come. He knows are schedule and when we need to step it up in important games. Man City are an expensive and classy outfit yet we stuck at our game plan and came away with a GOOD point after playing last Thursday. A few more signings and our injured returning players and we've got the makings of a strong squad to have a very good season. Personally, I'm really buzzing for the club and all the supporters at what is to come. COYB!

Like it Ricky mate good positive post, am really happy with R K and the team he has put together as you say mate one or two more and the returning players we are really going to have one hell of a team.

I feel so positive about things at the moment too.

Before the season kicked off I had to keep myself grounded, recognising that the team has to gel and that there will be some frustrating times ahead, yet so far I couldn't and wouldn't change a single thing. apart from holgates header back to the penalty spot 😂 But in all honestly, against sane he done an exceptional job. He was one of the players on the game for me. So I can forgive a little split second of madness.

I know times will be frustrating at some points of the season but right now I'm enjoying watching the lads and they all seem to love the club too.

So far so good played 6 competitive games scored 7 concede 2, won 4 and drawn 2. 6 different scorers. Goals coming from all departments. GK looking very solid.

I think it is all looking very positive so far, early season I know but onwards and upwards. We are in the group stages of the Europa league now and if we can stay close to the top after our first 5 tough games this could be a really good season Blues.

Got to say I was one who was sceptical of spending that much on Gylfi but if that's him lacking match fitness, we're in for something special. Top class and his workrate great to see in a full debut. When you think there was no Gana, Seamus, Sandro, Klaassen even in the squad, things are looking up.

Fantastic to be in the group stage now. Is it just me or did it look like we never really wanted to press the game? I got the impression that we were trying to conserve as much energy as possible for the Chelsea match. Just do enough to get through and nothing too risky or over exerting. I know it's not what we look forward to watching, but if my view is correct then it makes sense and credit to Koeman for planning ahead.

We look a bit like we can stroll around pass the ball and cruise through!
A speculative long shot gets a deflection a bit like baines in the last round and it's a different game now!
It's all to slow at the moment mirallas for lookman and take the game back to them!

There was no deflection . hajduk had 10shots in half time. where is your midfield? Picford should save this shot. you will probably score 2 goals now as hajduk is not fit enough but your performances are not good enough and are far to negative and slow going forward. friendly greetings from croatian red. you need pace upfront.

Well you don't have a player that excites and can make space for others in wide areas. same as the game with city. far to negative going forward. maybe klassen will improve your team or even mirralas. Maybe you should go for Nikola Vlasic he is considered in croatia to be next wonder and probably wouldbt be more than 8mil euros and he was very good in both games against everton. imagine 18years old englishmen dribling like that, media would destroy him. Fans here they are angry when he loses the ball lol.

There seems to be numerous reports around about us bidding for this Emre Mor character, were we interested in him and are we still? Perhaps for more speed and trickery while Bolasie is out and more depth?

{Ed001's Note - I have only seen a tiny bit of him but I am told he is very suited to the Prem. I can't say I have seen enough to judge him, but a few scouts have mentioned him as someone to watch out for last season.}

Hey all been reading the site for a couple of years but haven't been much of a writer, however thought I would take this opportunity considering I know a bit about Jiminez. I have lived in Mexico for 8 years now.
Firstly the obvious part, he can't get a game for Mexico he is behind chicharito, peralta who plays for an average albeit the biggest team in Mexico and still falls behind an ageing Giovanni dos Santos.
Mexicans don't rate Jiminez, he's a little lazy and loses the ball for fun, he will fire in the odd worldy, but I will stick my neck in the line and say this guy wouldn't make it in the prem, he scored an overhead kick from 18 yards against Panama in the last minute of the last world cup qualifier four years ago to save Mexico from an embarrasing exit, and he has dined out on it for years. He couldn't get a game at atletico and doesn't at Benfica, 45 million makes me chuckle this guy is not the answer. Sorry to be doom and gloom on my first post but this can't and shouldn't be true.

Garbutt is not on Baines level and to be honest is probably lower Prem or Championship.

Connolly I think is the guy who can deputise and is highly regarded inside the club. I like the look of him personally and is willing to get forward on the same way as Coleman and Baines do.

RK is bemoaning the fixtures already and we are only in August but sorry what did he expect with being in the Europa League .
I one of the few who said I was not bothered either way about it as it is so difficult for a team like Everton to compete on four fronts .
I want Everton to win a cup, 1995 is way to long ago but surely are best chance would be in the " league cup" as you play about 1/ 4 of the games you do in Europa but each year we play a weakened team and loose often to inferior opposition.
Yes we are having to play Chelsea first up on Sunday and it does seem a bit unfair but you have to expect it unfortunately, no good Moaning about it!

Loads of new players, currently playing on 4 fronts, very hard decisions for the Manager and coaching staff to make regarding game to game selection, new stadium. I have no idea what the fans reality is, but surely success on all fronts in what is now the real start of a new ownership and manager era, is far to much to expect imo. I predicted 7th at the beginning and from what I have seen and watched so far, coupled with our fixture schedule, I reckon we will do excellently well to accomplish that.

I agree with Koeman. Monday night didn't help at all. Then early Sunday? It's not on TV so why so early. It's not the amount but the placement of them that's frustrating.

I wouldn't have called it moaning it sounded more like highlighting the fixture timings which can prove detrimental to preparation.
