The thing with this window which worries me most, we have a good squad of players the Mori and Rodriguez adds bodies whereas someone like Yarmolenko takes us to another level I believe we need his ability to unlock defences, and I do believe we will bring in a marquee no 10 it could be the difference in finishing 4/5/6 or top 10

Well a week left and the window will be closed and we can all de stress, assuming of course the deals work in our favour. In the meanwhile I am sure we are in for all the player spotted at airport and San Carlos rumours in the days ahead.
If we have kept Stones and signed Yarmalenko I would take everything else falling by the wayside.
We will have signed Cleverley. I didn't want him. Thousands of others didn't want him, but fair play the lad is doing well. I was happy with the Delefeou signing. if he can apply himself and use his brain a bit more he will be an asset. He has the ability to be a game changer. Holgate is one for the future.
I can fully understand Martinez with the budget restrictions the board have probably placed him under going all in to get Yarmalenko. He will have identified him. He clearly rates him even though he didn't pay him any special attention which is why Kiev beat us. The comments of many posters indicate that we rate him highly too.
You cannot blame Martinez for the difficult negotiations. Dealing with these Ukrainians is like playing poker with Frank Abagnale, Victor Lustig and Bernie Madoff. The problem is it could go to the wire. Whether we miss out on Yarmalenko or not brings us to Lennon which brings us to another con artist Levy. You have to admire this man for for selling Spurs cast offs for £30m plus this window. Lennon has one year left on his contact. Levy will not want to let him go free and pay his wages for another year. This time we hold the cards and should sign him on the cheap.

I agree to some extent while I understand what Barry provides in games he can't do it week in week out, games like yesterday was a game he should be on bench I would of played Besic and told him to go and do a job on silva basically hunt him down everywhere he goes you go by doing that you stop the flow everything good about Man City he is involved.

Besic must start against Barnsley, the lad has massive potential, got a bit of everything. He plays for the shirt too and works hard, the complete package imo.

Does it not concern anyone else that we always have issues with foreign players and being able to get work permits for them. This happens to often for my liking. Is it very poor background work by scouting staff? Is it a ruse to look like we are trying to sign players knowing that we can't due to permit problems? I am a Kenwright fan but every year it's last minute rush for signings and permit issues.

Firstly to all us fans and pundits who say these deals take time, they don't. Look at deadline day and what can be achieved in hours not days huge transfers, last minute sales leading to even later replacements all done in an hour.
Secondly we have sanctioned two signings I believe it's the two South American lads.
Thirdly, the yarmelenko thing is most likely set up for deadline day meaning Martinez may want someone else. The problem these days is social media and 24hour news. The Lukaku loan deal would have been set up days before it was done as a contingency to losing Fellaini or Baines. I'm pretty sure the yarmelenko deal is sorted but guessing he is keeping his options open until last minute as he might be second or third choice for the number 10.
If you lot can't see that transfers are not done in minutes then why do you think these things go to the wire? We probably have several accepted bids out there we just don't know who.
I stated after Martinez came out so bullish before Southampton saying stones is staying and we will get 3 that he either had to be mad or knew what he had lined up was done. Let's just see what happens and if on the 2nd of September we have no new signings and have sold stones we can all go radio rental at the club and watch us struggle

Was chatting to a good friend of mine today and he had a visit from 2 Everton representatives as his Grandson has had 2 trials at Everton. he's only 14 and a goalie so don't be getting excited but they did say John Stones has no interest in leaving Everton for any club. They told him Stones loves it at Everton. My friend is a Utd supporter but also said the 2 Everton reps sold the club brilliantly and his Grandson also has a trial at Utd but Evertons academy sounded much better.

Good luck with that, I've tried. But I have managed to cut down to about 20 visits a day. Just wait for the pendulum to swing back to happy and excited when the rags come up with another fantasy footballer for us to dream about.

Players could get injured at anytime - even in training as Evertonans know,only too well!
Besides, surely we want to have a real go at the League Cup this season. I'd only rotate the team if a player needs a rest and/or needs to recover from a minor injury. I certainly wouldn't want to be selecting inexperienced youngsters, but I'd accept giving the unused-so-far-this-season players in our senior squad a chance of some competitive game-time.

hi ed do u think funes mori will get a work permit because I have a feeling he won't because u have had to play 75 percent of matches for your country which he has only made 1 but Is in squad for there friendly matches coming up it seems we are pinning r hopes on the rule for exceptional talent rule which allows for a work permit to be granted we have fallen fowl of the work permit rule on numerous accasions when trying to sign players let's hope lightning dosent strike again apparently funes mori Is supposed to be a very good player I hope we can manage to sign him

It appears the Yarmolenko move is still possible lads! According to respective sources in Ukraine, the President of Dynamo Kiev wanted to fly Yarmolenko out for the City game, Yarmolenko wanted this too. The issue was the Manager told him not to do it as he wanted time to think. The issue is getting Yarmolenko's replacement, that is the stumbling block, can't we just give them McGeady? To be fair I wouldn't wish him on my worst enemy, least of all on a club that we want to do business with. Even the Kiev first team coach said when Yarmolenko leaves (not if) it will be right, he had nothing left to prove here and should be playing on a higher level as he is more than good enough. People in Ukraine are saying Bernard is only being mentioned to make Kiev hurry up and sell Yarmolenko to us as them and Shaktar are rivals and want their players playing at the best possible teams so the clubs have a but of competition there. A panel show was held and one of the people there (Asicky? Ashki? Asitsy? Probably none of them said 'Bernard in England?
