not a rumour but i have watched the last three southampton games and i think Ricky Lambert is quality holds the ball up can finish hes not selfish think him and the jelly man would destroy most defenses.also do you think with the young talent we have some one will be sacrifised to raise money i hope not. {Ed025's Note - lambert at 30 may just be too old to invest in. and our youth are not for sale..

I do enjoy watching jelavic play, i think he has been awesome since coming to us, he will score loads next season. {Ed025's Note - hes a top striker mate..

In my opinion Leon Osman is probably the most under rated midfield player in the premiership, what are your thoughts... {Ed025's Note - hmmm...not for me mate...perennial under achiever in my book..

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Sorry ed, have to disagree with you, leon has been one of our best players for the last 4-3 years {Ed025's Note - flatters to deceive for me mate..maybe its me expecting too much..

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh Ed, its not very often I disagree with you mate but you have it so so wrong here, Ossies is one of our best players

Degsybluenose

Agree0 Disagree0

He seems to lose the ball quite easily - players just take it off him with a bit of a nudge

Agree0 Disagree0

On his day osman is fantastic, he was our best player in the second half of last season and is a very valuable member of our squad

Agree0 Disagree0

I like osman but not out wide hes to light wieght knocked of the ball to easily

Hi ed is there more money availlable at the club or are they just unrealistic demands by moyesy. also pienaar apparentley nailed on any truth? toffee danny {Ed025's Note - if harry stays at spurs, we will get pienaar, but if he goes, its up in the air again mate....there will be a bit of money made available, but nothing major..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Moyes is good on a limited budget, he is like del boy wheeling and dealing and he gets his deals done.

I was watching MOTD 3 before and they got told to do an all time premier league team so i thought id do my fav everton team over the years in my lifetime anyway the 90's until now
GK SOUTHALL

J HEITINGA
A STUBBS
D WATSON
L DONOVAN

N MARTYN OR HOWARD
D WEIR
P JAGIELKA
R GOUGH
S DISTIN
G SPEED
T GRAVESON
T CAHILL
M ARTETA
K CAMPBELL
P RIDEOUT what do you think? Andy {Ed025's Note - its so hard to compare era,s andy...you see none of your midfielders would get in for a start!....it would be , sheedy, bracewell, reid, steven......or going back further...kendall, harvey ball....and lets not forget dixie dean!!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Your spot on ed. thats why i done it from the 90's if it was earlier i would have dixie dean the legend of course peter reid sheedy and graeme sharp etc andy {Ed025's Note - you missed the 80,s then andy?....bad luck there mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldn't put Jelavic in, hes only had half a season and, sure he's been brilliant, but he could be absolutly useless next season. {Ed025's Note - cant see that mate!....youve either got it..or you hav,nt....and hes deffo got it!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Comparing eras is to hard but the team from 2000-present would be:
...........................Howard.......................
Nevile......lescott........Jagielka.........Baines
Donovan.....Arteta.........Fellani......Pienaar
.........................Cahill.............................
.....................Ferguson/Jelavic/Yak

Agree0 Disagree0

Cahill and jelavic both in their primes would have been immense, we would have scored goals for fun

Baxter and hope again for the reserves, both good goals, baxters was a curler form the edge of the box; off the post and in, and hopes was a chip. barkley got an assist I think. All 3 of them deserve a chance off the bench atleast before the end of the season expecially baxter, he's been brilliant over the last two seasons and he looks to have really matured as a player since coming back from loan... {Ed025's Note - i would try him as a partner for jelly for the second half of the fulham game, if things are going well..

Believable1 Unbelievable0

It seems like baxter has been around forever, and with cahill not playing his best, maybe its time to see what he can do, im sure hed be fine

Agree0 Disagree0

Baxter is another one of the really promising youngsters at everton, the futures bright

Haven't been on in a while Ed, just wondering if Dempsey would be a better option than Donovan if you had the money to buy one who would it be..... Dan {Ed024's Note - Donovan would just nudge it for me, he fits in so well at goodison and gives so much to the side, but both are quality players

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Your opinion ed 025?? {Ed025's Note - landon for me as well dan...he just fits mate!..

Agree0 Disagree0

I really feel if we can sort are right hand side out and another forward we will have a really good team next season,so blue bill please give moyes some money to sort it out,we have a great chance so dont let everyone down bill.Terry blue {Ed025's Note - it would be great terry...but dont get your hopes up too high mate..

Well done Bainesee, top left back in the country easily, possibly the world.

PFA TEAM OF THE YEAR WRITE UP

LEIGHTON BAINES: The affable Evertonian may play understudy to Ashley Cole on the international stage but according to his fellow professionals there hasn't been a better left-back this season. In short, he's the quintessential modern day full-back; as happy bombing forward as he is carrying out his defensive duties. Baines possesses the proverbial wand of a left foot, with his set-pieces again proving to be a key weapon in Everton's attacking armoury in a campaign where goals have proven hard to come by. To date the five he has contributed puts him joint-top of the club's scoring charts, while countless others have been created courtesy of his pinpoint dead ball deliveries

Degsybluenose {Ed024's Note - Baines is a superstar

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Baines is our most effective player, his defending, assists and goals are vital to us and he brings out the best in pineaar

Bez the blue {Ed025's Note - quality bez...in bucket loads..

surely moyes/bill must have inserted a right-to-buy-at-certain-amount clause in the Pienaar loan deal when it was done in January? otherwise we'd have been on a loser all ways - if he'd come back and was crap then we'd have wasted his wages money - and if he'd come back n was good - his price would have gone up or they could just grab him back after we'd got him playing well again - think we've missed a trick if we didn't insert a pull option into the deal - now the spurs know we really really want him and they'll try and get 6-8 mill from us - or they flog him elsehwere after we've stuck him in the shop window again {Ed024's Note - Pineaar is a done deal for me

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It's not like us to agree a loan deal and leave ourselves exposed to these possibilities, so I am almost certain we have some price guide pre agreed. The only worry is that we were that short of time that we didn't get it agreed in time.

We'll soon find out in the summer.

Bill is smart enough to cover himself with a buy at the end of the season clause {Ed024's Note - I think so too

i have took into consideration that we will nto buy no BIG BIG player
so my last team for next year will be.

.....................Howard..........................
Hibbo.....Distin.............Heitinga.....Bainse.
.........................................................
Jarvis.....Gibson..........Pranjic.......Pienaar.
.....................Felliani............................
.....................Jelavic............................
make cahill a sub, he has been better coming of the bench and so have we.
YOBO out
Jags out
Rodwell out, i do like dempsey but do you not think no big club will snap him up if they dont well we will have the funds of rodwell.

toffee haz {Ed024's Note - that would be good enough to challenge for the europa league places

Believable1 Unbelievable1

But could you see moyes dropping his favorites

toffee haz

Agree0 Disagree0

He just did cahill be after a year i remember paisley droping dalgliesh when out off form thats why he won things ruthless is the key look at fergis treatment of berbatov

Agree0 Disagree0

Pranjic isn't a central midfielder, he is a left fullback or left winger. To accommodate that XI, I would move Fellaini into CM (which I think is his best position anyway), Pienaar in behind the striker in a free role and Pranjic on the left side.

Other than that, I would be happy with the XI and think it could challenge the top 6, especially if Donovan comes in for a while during the season.

When i switched off on Sunday after the game i had a few questions and answers so i thought i would share with you all so here goes.
Answers- Everton have spirit and attitude
Man utd not as good as they think.
Create and convert chances when need to
Jelavic the best since Lineker.

Questions-Why cant you play on front foot all the time
Has Cahill had his day
Can you afford not to buy Pienaar
Can Jags and Hettinga play together.

RED RUSS..Done one for Liverpool too but it aint been
posted yet.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Man u not as good as they think but as it stands they are the best in the country, the table doesnt lie.
jags and jonny can play together,
we will buy pienaar if we have the money and he wants to stay
cahil hasnt nad his day, he may not be scoring goals and not be as effective but he will com good again {Ed024's Note - Cahill is still a quality squad player, but maybe better coming off the bench

Agree0 Disagree0

That's a decent enough post Russ. You make good points. All us blues are excited in what we have got with Jelavic. We have had great strikers here in the past as you will be aware. Hopefully we can pose more of a challenge for Europe next season.

It's fair to say that man u are equally as poor at the back as they are effective up front. That doesn't mean they gifted us a draw. We worked well, created well and were at times very composed on the ball.

One thing is for sure... Man u are not the force they have been in recent years. And a little more courage from other teams may see them slip up more often.

On another note it's nice to have the opinion of a red without the aggro' , the city has two great teams with families mixed with blue and red. You won't get that anywhere else.

You're a welcome red on this site in my opinion. {Ed024's Note - I am friends with a few decent reds, they are not all bad!!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Russ. Here's my opinion on your questions.....

Some blame Moyes for the team sitting back. Me included. (especially when we're in front). Hopefully he will now see the rewards we get by going for it. Recent results have proven that... Sadly, in our good string of games, it was only the derby matches where we have failed to do this. (Still gutted by the way Russ).

For me, Cahills form seemed to just switch off. He was outstanding when we needed him as an emergency forward but he continued to play there when strikers were available. He should have been pushed back to midfield when his goal drought started. I think we'll only know if he's had his day if he gets pushed back. Maybe a straight swap with Felliani would be ideal at this time, given his performance at the weekend! No matter what, Tim Cahill will always remain loyal to his club and have a place in Everton history. A true professional.

Pienaar is a must. Hell of a player and since his return he has shown us how much we missed him. His on AND off the field antics shows us he is certainly capable of getting three points!!

I think there's a lot of mixed feelings on who should be our two main centre backs but Heitinga and Distin look the most solid to me. That might be because they've had a longer spell playing together than Jags and Johnny. Give them time and they could prove to be outstanding. I think against Man U they both had one eye on Distin at left back which may have distracted them slightly. They did ok considering....

Wizard of Osman {Ed024's Note - Great post mate

Agree0 Disagree0

I think pienarr as come back a better player he had gone stale but is game as freshened up

I may be completely wrong here but I have a feeling the board might come good and give Moyes some bonus money this year. I'm not saying like £20mil or anything llike that but maybe £6-7 mil could be on the cards plus sales.

Team I Would Like To See Realisticly Next Season:

Howard
Pranjic
Heitinga
Distin
Baines
Hoilett
Gibson
Fellaini
Pienaar
Dempsey
Jelavic

Ins:
Pranjic - Free
Hoilett - Free
Pienaar - 3m
Dempsey -7-8m?
Lukaku - Loan

Outs:
Jagielka - 10m, Reason.... Right im a big fan of Jags and would love to keep him BUT he will be 30 by the time the season starts and i just think we might as well cash in while we can because hes the only player worth around the 10m mark that i would consider selling as long as every penny was put back in the spuad and plus we have promising young centre halves in Duffy & Rodwell(if moyes puts him there)

Yobo - 2m, Reason... Doesn't wan't to stay

Anichebe - 3m, Reason... Don't like him, don't care how many goals hes scored coming off the bench i still don't rate him as a footballer, people may disagree but thats my opinion.

Total Income 15m

Total Spent 10m.... Everyones happy we have a good team and Kenwright gets 5m to do whatever he wants with although i suggest he keeps hold of it and buys Donovan in January permanently (wink wink).

Believable1 Unbelievable0

The reason we have anichebe is because we need squad players - all teams do - if you had 4 jelavics then 2 or 3 of them would want to leave and it would cost you a fortune to have 2 or 3 of them sitting on the bench most weeks doing nothing
Anichebe can do several jobs if called upon and he does get used as an impact player - but if you get an injury to jelavic and straq then Vic will do his best up front
I'd keep him for those reasons - plus - he can score as well :)

Agree0 Disagree0

I think vic would benefit from going out on loan for a couple of months to get a regular run of games {Ed024's Note - I agree

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Apr 2012 01:54:34
Other than our last transfer window, we ain't had much to get excited about when it comes to transfers! And that was only cause we sold the lazy Russian! So this summer I'd be very happy with keeping all our players and signing pea nuts permanently! And maybe get cheeky typical Moyes loan that turns everyone's heads but ends up being quality!! Anything else for me will be a bonus!!

Kurajan

Believable3 Unbelievable1

We definiitely need a decent right winger - one who can really make things happen - not just play if off elsewhere - someone who makes you pay attention when he gets the ball because you think this lad can do something and he makes things happen maybe 6 or 7 times in a match - if we get a guy like that over there then jelavic will be getting fed by both wings and through the middle as well - he'd be filling his boots hopefully!

if you only have pienaar then he could get injured or they opposition do a job on him and we could struggle - 2 wingers and it's coming in from all over :)

come on bill!

Agree0 Disagree0

Would sadly sell Jags, love the player, his attitude, but for me it is the right time. Approaching 30 and I think we have 4 decent CB's already in the squad (Heitinga, Duffy, Distin and Rodwell). And hopefully he gets a crack at Champs League footy as well.

Use the 10mil odd to buy an attacking mid/winger and Pienaar

Agree0 Disagree0

A love this comment..........We have 4 decent centre backs already!!! I didn't realise Rodwell was now classified as a centre back! Why the hell would we sell Jags? Distin is the oldest of the lot, i'd give him one more season. I personally wouldn't sell anyone, we need to add to the squad not sell. We need to sign Peanuts and get a decent right winger in and i think we'll be ok for next season. Young players like Gueye, Vellios and Barkley to get more opportunities.

Alastair {Ed024's Note - I would only look at offloading the likes of mcfadden and anichebe, we need to add to the quality we already have.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would just like to defend billy there! He wasn't lazy, he is a very unconfident center mid played on the wing. The players said he was the most skilled player at the club but lacked confidence and was played in the totally wrong wrong position. If you watch him for Russia he is played just behind the striker or in cm and he is great........

TC {Ed025's Note - he just did not seem to fit for me tc...he is obviously a very good player, but i think we got rid at the right time..

Agree0 Disagree0

You dont buy a right back and play him infront the lad never got arun were he plays for russia inside forward i believe he would have done well in that role
