Keeps getting better for McGeady. He didn't even make the Sheffield Wednesday panel for the play off this weekend. He surely has to go in the summer.

'Gardening leave' is his speciality .

I think Unai Emery would be a great choice, to me FDB sounds like another Martinez with his playing from the back and I feel we need a change in style of play to get the best out of our young players.
However Deulofeu was given very little chance under Unai at Sevilla and I wouldn't want to see his talent wasted.
Hopefully we will open those Christmas presents soon :)

Heard someone mention that Emery will have a translator for his interview.

Do we know if he speaks English? This could be a deal-breaker for me Ed.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - His English is very poor but he is learning.}

23 May 2016 20:33:57
Ed are we really interested or is it the paper linking us with him because his team beat liverpool.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - apparently we are interested eddy, i dont know if he would be prepared to give up CL football to join us though mate..

23 May 2016 20:48:07
Every club as a ceiling, Ed. Might feel he's achieved all he can with Sevilla?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - possibly hugo and he does speak decent english which would help, in the mix certainly i think mate..

23 May 2016 20:59:25
Ed025 you say he speaks decent english while ed002 says his English is poor.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - when i read up on him it said it was decent BB, but i suppose it could have been wrong and if it is i apologize..

23 May 2016 20:59:28
I'm happy with all of the names being banded about at the moment to be honest with you, except for Moyes! Not sure who posted it, but compare the names being linked 3 years ago to now, massive difference. Future's bright, but a huge Summer ahead.

Agree1 Disagree1

23 May 2016 21:01:11
When Pochettino arrived at Saints he hit the ground running I seem to recall and his 'English' wasn't all that at the time was it .

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - thats right 247..

23 May 2016 21:33:03
Wouldn't worry about the English too much. He still has 3 months to work on it. It would develop all the time. What he has done at Sevilla is very impressive. Like Hugo I'm happy with a lot of names being linked. Summer looks like its going to be enjoyable.

Agree1 Disagree0

23 May 2016 21:37:33
Long term I think it's hugely important for a manager to speak the correct language. However, as long as he is willing to learn the language and is smart enough to pick it up, I don't see it as a huge issue.

Agree1 Disagree0

23 May 2016 22:45:55
O I'd imagine he's well smart enough to learn the language. Its no coincidence they won Europa 3 years in a row.

To be honest I would prefer Pellegrini, he knows the Premiership and delivers consistent Champions League Qualification, even in this last Season of surprises.

Any news on manager, really hope it ain't pelligrini aka Audrey from corrie.
Seen more life in dead people, he couldn't motivate the team with the players he had.
I'm happy with emery or de boer and I think we will here by Friday, and have him a week Tuesday.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

23 May 2016 21:44:20
Pelligrini has bought more lemons, than an asda buyer on pancake day, please, anybody but him.

23 May 2016 22:48:33
Anybody JCW100? Are you sure about that?

Not that he'd be my first pick but was it him that signed those players or someone higher up?

Agree0 Disagree0

23 May 2016 13:32:43
David Moyes looks like he is off to the Villa, pretty sure when he was our manager and Villa were finishing above us there were rumours then about him going the Villa, around the same time as a fat new 5 year contract was provided too, oh well he made it there eventually, that's him and Jose out the running now, Moyes has finally given up on us taking him back and rightly so, in the past where he belongs.

Believable8 Unbelievable2

23 May 2016 13:53:34
Just read he ruled himself out of the running for the Villa job. Obviously holding on for that call from
Bill.

{Ed025's Note - i will carry him to villa on my back CT if it means we dont get him mate..

I have instructed the chauffeur to cane the 'Spaghetti junction' a bit, and make sure Moysey makes the most of the mini bar.

23 May 2016 19:39:29
I have just read a piece online from the echo Everton rumours, it is from a journo called Elliot Bretland, about how we should never consider bringing Moyes back. He then proceeds to explain why. Me myself i agree 100% with what he says. Its a very good article imo for anyone interested.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - they should make him...sir elliot bertrand after that jimmy.. :)

23 May 2016 19:49:59
Ha ha, and give him the freedom of the city to boot, Ed025.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - absolutely jimmy.. :)

23 May 2016 20:33:14
Brilliant article and spot on. Even now there are still fans brainwashed by his ramblings and shortcomings. Yes he stabilised us and then we stood still and stagnated.

23 May 2016 12:43:24
People don't want de Boer because he is similar to Martinez but in the same post say they want emery! Good in cup competitions but not great I'm league, sound to me like he is just another martinez.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

23 May 2016 13:44:36
He has won 3 Europa cups which is no mean feet and to come 5th twice and 7th as well is amazing, he also won the Spanish cup a few years ago.
In Spain the chances of winning the league are very slim as Real Madrid and Barcelona are in a two horse race.
His record is far superior to De Boer in Europe and he has a way of playing that is different to Martinez and De Boer.
He is no Martinez, De Boer is, for me De Boer means relegation, Emeery hope of good times in a couple of years.

23 May 2016 14:40:22
De Boer means relegation hahahahahaha.

23 May 2016 23:08:56
It's getting pathetic mate someone gets a mention and then anyone else who was previously linked is suddenly not good enough, I don't care who comes in as long as they bring youth threw and don't come in with big ideas we don't need massive change we just need tweaking.

Agree1 Disagree0

23 May 2016 12:07:14

Agree1 Disagree0

23 May 2016 11:24:16
Seems romelu is making very poor decisions, advised or otherwise. First he alienates himself from efc fans and now he's bumping his gums about Martinez. one word to all of these younguns. integrity.

Believable7 Unbelievable0

23 May 2016 11:20:08
Said from the start Emery or Favre for me. Both have done well. Emery loses his best players every summer and still does well, Favre turned Moenchengladbach round completely. Not keen on de boer, he's too similar to Martinez and set in his ways. Think Koeman would be off like a shot if sumone else came in for him and not convinced by pellegrini. Who would be your choice ed and who do u think is likely to get the job?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

23 May 2016 11:02:38
I did want de Boer but I've read reviews of Dutch correspondt who called him ducth Martinez so I'm leaning towards emery I think he would be good fit.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

23 May 2016 10:07:49
How many Blues on here have changed their preference for the new manager numerous times, up to now I've wanted 1st DeBoer, then changed for Koeman then for Pellegrini and now changed again for Emery, who next, certainly won't be Benitez, Moyes or O'Neill.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - im the same degs, like a kid in a sweet shop who cant quite make his mind up which treats to buy.. :)

23 May 2016 10:41:45
Murf

Yeah it's a different posing question almost every day! although a bit too much of the 'supposedly' for me to feel sure about any of them.

All I will say is 'RB' 'DM' and 'MO' are not on my fave list, however the others look well capable .

Agree2 Disagree0

23 May 2016 11:50:14
Emry picks up silverware so I'd be ok with him
Pelligrini silverware and prem experience so yes to him too
Koemen prem experience and job well done at Southampton so yes to him.

Looks like morinho has decided on man utd well he'll have to live with that missed opportunity for his whole life sadly ;)

I don't care how much my mind changes as long as it's one of the first 3 mentioned.

Agree1 Disagree0

23 May 2016 11:19:14
I can't make my mind up. I did want FDB.

Now I'm thinking MP, Emery or LF.

To be honest I think any of these would be great and I'd be happy with any of them. I'm sure the club will make the right decision. Glad its not me making it.

The future's bright blues :)

Agree2 Disagree0

23 May 2016 07:28:09
Good morning lads.

I haven't been on for a while but I wanted to get your thoughts on a few things.

On the new stadium front, I personally think the docks would be great. With Peel Holdings development in and around the dock land area, we could have a stunning stadium surrounded by skyscrapers and the old redeveloped warehouses. It would look something special.

With Mayor Anderson saying we could have the keys in three years, surely this must be in advanced stages of any deal. The stadium will sure take 2-3 years to build so if we where to have keys within 3 years, surely a spade will have to be in the ground within a six month period?!

It's funny now that we have a chance to help Liverpool City Council host "The Games" (I forget which games it is) they are suddenly backing us a the land is available. It probably helps that we have a new rich owner. Surely this land was and has been available for a number of years.

Let me know your thoughts lads and ladies.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - the docks would be a great choice for me as well Ai, it encapsulates the history of the city and transport links would be so much easier mate..

23 May 2016 08:16:34
I agree Al, a stadium on the docks built with the capacity for hosting the commonwealth games with retractable seating, wow, must have 60,000 plus capacity, Koppites saying we wouldn't fill it too, if West Ham have 51,000 season tickets with 30,000 on the waiting list then we could easily fill it, first time I have ever been confident that it will happen too, i'm actually 100% certain it will with Mr Moshiri at the helm, great times ahead.

Also apparently we are interviewing Pellegrini now, too, lots of reports that we have interviewed a number of people with some top names mentioned, it's great that we are doing this properly with no knee jerk reactions, patience Blues that's all we need, we have Mr Moshiri in charge now and I've said it before, you never meet a daft self made Billionaire, never get bored of that "Billionaire".

finally I was never for bringing Rooney back, not because he left us as that needed to happen to keep us in the league, I was against it because he is nearing the end and too slow for a front guy now, change of mind here, he is perfect for our midfield and would get 3-5 years out of him at the top level, big statement from Mr Moshiri if he brought the lad home as we have all forgiven him and no doubting he is a blue, there is no love from him for Utd and that shows so much, just a bank balance for him, its a shame as he will never be a Utd legend and has probably won and done more than most of their legends, bet he would take a 50% pay cut too, drop in our midfield for a few years then China for a retirement pay day.

Agree2 Disagree0

23 May 2016 11:27:27
I agree regarding Rooney Murf. Looks mustard in midfield.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 May 2016 11:59:58
Can you just imagine what having Rooney in the dressing room would be like for the 4 kids we had out against Norwich.

I also think that just by putting on the shirt we would get an extra 10%.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 May 2016 12:32:56
we would get more than an extra 10% Ace.

Agree1 Disagree0

23 May 2016 13:00:06
Know his brother and he said the abuse the fans gave in particular his family especially in the begging he would never play for us again and would only go America for a final pay day which makes sense although Steven Gerrard might persuade him otherwise.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - i donk know why he would need a final pay day mike, the guy earns more in an hour than most of us do in a month mate..

23 May 2016 06:17:54
Whoever comes in as our next manager will be an improvement.

With new investment, we are now being linked with top quality managers instead of average.

Whoever comes in, I would get rid of the money grabbing big headed prima donnas in Lukaku and Stones, get the best price possible price for both, bring in players who want to play for Everton, are prepared to wait a few seasons while the club is in transformation, but have a hunger to succeed at Everton and not jump ship when the going gets tough.

Things are looking up for Everton, anyone who doesn't want to play for Everton, get rid, Everton will succeed, I have no doubts, but only if they build a team who want to play for Everton, and not use us as a stepping Stone.

Bring back Rooney, someone who will at least play with passion.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

23 May 2016 06:33:21
Bring back Rooney? didn't he use us as a stepping stone I for one don't want him back.

Agree1 Disagree3

23 May 2016 06:48:30
Did Rooney ask for a transfer, can't remember now, pretty sure that cash saved us too.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - he said he wanted the move degs, and yes that money really helped us out when we needed it..

23 May 2016 08:18:13
sorry Ed I couldn't remember if he asked to go, was it really him though or the usual agent.

I agree and disagree Baz so not clicking any box, no way do I want Stones to go mate.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - probably his agent degs, but he would have to agree for the deal to go through mate..

23 May 2016 09:10:09
Imho Rooney knew there was a strong possibility he would leave Everton before he signed for Everton. It came out that plenty of clubs wanted to sign him but he was having none of it. I know he was very young but he felt a duty to sign for Everton. He could of signed straight for Utd but instead he went with Everton and made the club a shed load of money in a very short space of time.

That money at the time was very important. If he had not signed for Everton and went straight for Utd before he exploded onto the scene people probably wouldn't give out about him as much. He's seen as a traitor by some. I don't share this view. He done the club a massive favour by signing for Everton first.

Yes he could of stayed but honestly and wholeheartedly can anyone blame him for leaving? I believe if it was today he would stay with the prospective future we have now.

Personally I can't see Rooney leaving Utd this summer. He's only 4 goals off breaking the Utd goal record. Provided he doesn't get a major injury he would be set to break the record in the first half of next season. Even if he isn't a starter in most games.

Then I think there I a good chance he'll come back to Everton. No doubt he has devotion to Everton. Going to the match last season and having his kids born in Liverpool. His kids wear Everton jerseys.

I know there is people who hold a grudge against Rooney. I obviously would of prefered if he stayed with Everton. It just wasn't to be and I'm glad how his career went for him.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - good post that NBTB..

23 May 2016 10:04:56
As usual NB great post mate, even if he beat that record he would not be a Utd legend mate, that's what the fans think of him, I have a few contractors I work with Utd fans (and my gaffer) and they all think the same, money grabber, short memories there and surprising how little they like him, his love for Everton doesn't help with them though as they know it's just a pay day for him.

As you stated he could have left for nothing but didn't, and the kissing the badge was just a reaction to the stick he got off us :) , does anyone actually think he really loves Utd, they may try to ship him out before he breaks the record though mate as Sir Bob was a legend for them, also forgot then too until I read your post again, his kids wearing Everton jerseys, Man U fans really hate that ha ha.

Agree1 Disagree0

23 May 2016 10:14:49
Think about it like this it's one thing to love the club you support but everyone wants personal achievement in their professional life and at the time Everton were no where near winning anything how many of us can't understand why Matt le Tissier never left Southampton for a bigger club he would have had many more England caps more trophies and we would probably be talking about Le Tissier as one of the true lengends of the premier league era instead we think of him as a very good player who never misses penalties. I'm sure if Everton had been looking like we could be challengers Rooney would never have left so I don't really blame the lad for going he never said a bad word about us he just wanted success can't fault him for that.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - fair points them AL..

23 May 2016 03:42:27
When Moyes left it was Martinez, Neil Lennon and Perreira. None of the options seemed exciting. Now its De Boer, Emery, Pellegrini, Koeman, Favre, etc. They all seem exciting to me. Shows how far we've come with a bit of investment. Things are looking up for the blue boys. Can't wait for next season!
