Defoe would be good hes a proper goalscorer but i dont think he would work with beckford the same with shane long brilliant player but probably wouldnt work with becks we need a strong striker who can hold the ball up and score goals this is the reason weve went in for klose and ba, i think defoes team mate pavlyuchenko would be better suited but in the end i think we will have to settle for bothroyd and if that doesnt come of we may go in for a similar striker to beckforrd like long. im desperate for a winger with a bit of pace and capable of holding up the ball, pienaar back would be great but charles nzogbia is the signing i think everyone wants to happen and is probably better than pienaar, like him he is good on the ball, fast and a good passer but he can also defend, he is strong and he scores a fair few goals aswell.

any news on a new striker or new players ed. {Ed011's Note -I think moyes hit list will be Moussi, Long, Ecuele, Mackail-Smith, Bothroyd and Mbokani.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

I had heard Moussi may well be re-signing for Forest following McLaren's appointment. No chance of Sturridge then Ed? {Ed011's Note - I am sure moyes would be interested in him, why not, he would score us goals and we could guarantee him first team football and i am sure he would prefer us to bolton. A loan of him is more likely

Agree3 Disagree0

I just assumed as he didn't feature on your list, any deal was dead in the water. As I've said many times on here, I'd be happy with two signings; Sturridge & N'Zogbia.

Agree2 Disagree0

I would take mbokani and djalo up top

i know im dreaming......but i think it would be great, if one of the club officials contacted this site, and gave us an insight into whats happening at the club. to hear from david moyes or bill kenwright would be amazing! but even one of the back room staff...a physio or maybe the secretary...so they could give us an insight into what was happening at the club.....it would be testament to the great site you guys are providing (free of charge) and would promote great debate....so come on guys, provide us with some info...instead of treating us like mushrooms....(feeding us with s**t...and keeping us in the dark...yours faithfully. {Ed011's Note - Everton like to keep their business being closed doors. That why there is so much speculation and nothing concrete

why do we have a everton rumour site if it never gets updated for hours come on eds lets give us blues somethink to read {Ed011's Note - There are two everton editors on the site and we try our best. The page is mostly updated a few times an hour, but the liverpool page for example has 7 editors so it is easier for them. I have a full time job and the other everton editor studies as well, so if you would like to lend a hand email the contact link and offer your services, the more editors we have the more chat and sensible threads we can have and we can also keep off some of the rubbish we receive.

For me it's an easy option sell rodwell get £20 mill in n'zogbia £10 mill and £10 mill on a striker ( not long awful record at scoring ratio ) Barkley coming through garbett cover for baines ! Sell billy still mucha yobo and yak have some cash for jan if things are not going well

Just heard Lee wallace is travelling south to meet with representatives of a BIG CLUB, colleagues Husband is financial director at Hearts, She thinks it's Everton!! Any news on this ED? {Ed011's Note - I have heard the link, but nothing more than that, lonergan might be the first signing, very highly rated by north enders

I think we should try and get craig bellamy to partner beckford in attack. Proven record year after year scores goals and thats what we need.

Believable2 Unbelievable4

I wouldn't say no to Bellamy on loan. I think it would be foolish to pay a transfer fee for somebody who's temperament is so suspect.

Agree1 Disagree2

No thanks bellamy played for the red sh**e, dont want him. Everton need a striker who WILL score 20 plus goals, Moyes should spend all his money on that person a new no.9 maybe Dixie Dean will come back from the grave. i have a good feeling David Moyes will find that gem.

Demba Ba - Newcastle
Seb Larsson - Sunderland
Miroslave Klose - Lazio

Are we going to sign anyone?
What do you think ed? {Ed011's Note - We can only speculate what moyes is planning behind the scenes, i don't think he wanted larsson, but there was definitely interest in Ba and Klose, Klose had a lot of options and was always keen on a big contract in Italy. He seriously considered joining us. Ba demands were too high and i back the clubs decision to not give in to his wage demands as he is not god enough to warrant the contract he was asking for and his knee was a concern as well. I think moyes will definitely sign a winger and striker and i think he will move coleman to right back

Believable5 Unbelievable0

23 Jun 2011 17:47:03
David Moyes main priority is not Charles N'Zogbia. He wants to buy Defoe and Redknapp is willing to let him leave. And apparently Moyes wants back up for Bainesy! What do you think ed? {Ed011's Note - We are definitely short of cover for left back. Defoe is good and would be a big name signing. The only concern is the general consensus between evertonians is that beckford is too similar to defoe and beckford is a younger , faster version of him. I think he might sign a striker that is different to beckford that would compliment each others game

Believable4 Unbelievable0

I kind of agree ed but would't defoe be an ideal player for beckford to learn off, it couldn't hurt to have him at the club. {Ed011's Note - Possibly, i just wonder is defoe would want to stay down south as all his career has been spent down there,i must say though if we signed him i would be happy and he would be a big name to get the fans up for next season

Rodwell or Fellini 20-25 mil
Total - 30-35 mil

Ins-

L Donavan 5 mil
S Dafour 10-12 mil
D welbeck loan
W brown 3 mil

Believable0 Unbelievable4

No to Fellaini

Agree4 Disagree1

No selling Felli

Donovan is too expensive and won't have a re-sell value.
We don't need Brown
We can get better strikers for that kind of money.

Agree4 Disagree1

Who do you suggest?
after Monaco been relegated previous sought after congo striker Dieumerci Mbokani is up for sale
is he good enough to wear the no.9 for Everton ?????? {Ed011's Note - Sturridge or Long would be my picks,or a long shot someone like pavulchenko could have the potential of wearing the sacred shirt

Agree1 Disagree1

I think mbokani is good enough to be on the bench, he's too irregural. My picks would be Djibril Cisse or Jelle Vossen, those two would not cost too much and have played really well last year. There is also Bryan Ruiz, but he may cost a little higher. N'zogbia or Jonathan Legear would add something on the wing aswell

Agree0 Disagree2

23 Jun 2011 15:40:02
I recon we should try to sign Carlos vela from arsenal. He's a good player has lots of pace and is only 22. He's not getting played there and I think he'd be getting first team
Football at us which would make it a good deal for both parties.
What do you lot think?

23 Jun 2011 13:50:34
Overall Moyes does great job, but what about blunders on Bily 9m and not selling the Yak last year for 6 or 7 or whatever it was? He held out for that extra million and now we'll get only a couple of mil for him.
And what about this Yobo deal? It's in the deal that they take him for 6m if they want him permanent, and now they want to only pay 2m. How come we fell for that? What's the point of having that 6m in the loan agreement if it's worth nothing?
Then pulling out all the stops on Arteta on 75k per week who then decides to have a 'season off' after his injury, in case he got another knock. Never got too involved did he?

I thought Moyes and Kenwright were a good partnership (more money would be nice though, but at least we try to balance books) but I'm having one or two doubts with some of these dealings.
At least magaye looks good and maybe beckford.
And you can't doubt that Moyes has made top stars of Lescott, Baines and Jags. He can spot a potentially good defender but can he do it with strikers?

Believable5 Unbelievable2

Ps - at least west ham went down after not buying the Yak. Serves them right. If they'd have paid the extra mil they may have stayed up. Not that much consolation for us though.

Ed, with kenwright saying that Everton has been up sale for a few years now and there has never been any developments of a takeover it makes we wonder that why the club has not employed someone to sell the club (like clubs have done before). Surely if he wanted to sell this would be a logical solution which makes me think that the club isnt up for sale at all and kenwright is hoping someone is going to come along and pump money into the club without having anything in return. As we all know this is just not a realistic scenario and it worries me that there will be no money to spend during the transfer market for a while. {Ed011's Note - I don't know for sure mate, but you do get the feeling kenwright would like someone to invest with him remaining in charge. this summer is crucial, if moyes can bring in a handful of players and we start well, then fans will be content. If moyes doesn't spend and we struggle then something will have to change

Believable5 Unbelievable1

As usual Ed, I agree with you. Another quiet Summer and a poor start and I think fans will start voting with their feet. While Kenwright is a fan and can only be commended for stabilisation after the previous regime, he needs to find a buyer, now! Someone else on here has questioned whether or not the club has ever been on the market and suggested someone is employed to furnish the sale. Again, II can only agree with this view. Rumours are rife that Long (another alleged target) is in talks with other clubs. Once again, nobody at the club is talking to the fans. I'm sure if Kenwright does sell out, he can be kept on in some capacity. Possibly working a turnstile in exchange for a match ticket?

My wish list ins and outs

Outs-
Yobo, Yakubu, Billy

Ins-
L Donavan he was great v panama last night
S Dafour we need a strong midfielder
Obe Mikel hard man if Fellini goes
D Wellbeck proven goals
Yannick Dajo pacey and good finisher which we need
R Huth solid defender scores goals

Great team if we could get these if only eh!!
IMWT toffee Tino

Believable3 Unbelievable3

How much would they cost though?
i myself would go for someone younger than donovan who would become a replacement for tim cahill when he retires cause he is fairly old at the moment
also i would go for shane long ahead of danny welbeck because i'd prefer to see us have a permanant striker rather than someone on loan
if we got both obi mikel and defour we would have a very strong midfield with rodwell and fellani who could play there aswell
huth would be a very good signing but again i would prefer to see someone younger
i've never seen yannick djalo play but from what i've heard he is good and fast, and we don't have any really fast striker so he would add something to our team
lastly i would like to see one or possibly two wingers to be signed because we need more wingers and they would give our team depth, and not any old wingers two who would be good enough to fill in for our current wingers without weakening our team like you see at man utd

also its good to see someone who dosen't want to see rodwell be sold

Agree2 Disagree2

Wish all you want, ive been told this morning from someone at FF that moyes has 4m + whatever is made from player sales!!! i think that is an insult to the work that Moyes has done, and to the fans(and im not even moyes's biggest fan!!) Kenwright has to go, and go now!! call yourself a blue Bill? no chance, we don't want you anywhere near our club anymore!!

Agree3 Disagree5

No fast striker what are you on have you ever watched jermain beckford play?????????????

Agree3 Disagree2

4 mil is a disgrace of a budget to be given as a side that finished 7th last year. How much longer can we go on with this little amount of money. I dont blame Bill because if thats all we have got then thats it but I question if he is really trying to sell the club.

Agree3 Disagree1

You cant count yourselfs as true blues, the clubs owes money left right and centre and that debit has to be serviced.
Do you want the banks to do what they did at Liverpool or have the shame of going through what portsmouth did. We have a lot of good players (First Team), afew good young players at the club and need to get rid of dead wood (Yak, Yobo, Hibbert) Edd - What was the prize money for 7th place this season??

Steve J (Blue Nose) {Ed011's Note - TV, cash and prize money you are looking at just short of 50 million

Agree0 Disagree0

Sry i haven't really ever seen beckford play
anyway we would have a strong strike force if we can get djalo and long
we could choose from djalo, beckford, long, saha, baxter or anichebe(i like anichebe and think he would be good to have in the squad because he is still young and if we want to get top 6 we need to have depth in the squad)

Agree0 Disagree0

Your obviously not a good fan then are you never seen beckford play have you not even seen his goals v chelsea, blackpool, bolton and you think anichebe is good :/ plus you say we have no fast strikers even if you havnt seen beckford saha and anichebe a both quick

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2011 11:34:55
Yep have to agree with you there - those two would really enhance our squad!

Forlan is 32 now and Atletico have said he can leave. Being rumoured at 7.5m. Just his wages I guess but then again he is 32 so 7.5m for 1 or 2 seasons is big money for us.

What about Long and the lad from Peterborough, Smith. Two additional strikers wouldn't be a bad shout if we could afford them!

Believable2 Unbelievable0

23 Jun 2011 09:35:48
Donovan and Forlan...end of summer spending. Anyone else think that would do us for the summer?

If a big player for us left could maybe fund a move for N'Zogbia and another striker...Shane Long perhaps. {Ed011's Note - It would, but you are talking 30 ish mill for forlan and donovan, we would have to sacrifice rodwell and add it to the other funds raised form the fringe players leaving. I would be happy with long and n'zogbia, two very good players that will be in our price range

being a life-long everton fan..i am bemused why we do not seem attractive to wealthy investors?...we have a good team...great history...fantastic fan base & superb manager....so why do these mega-rich arabs, yanks, russians, & chinese....go for mediocre clubs, such as man-city..QPR..liverpool..etc.....its hard to believe that no enquiries have been made to buy the club......or maybe they have..but have been given short shrift by mr kenwright, because of his reluctance to stand down as chairman?....so this is a plea to bill kenwright....if you truely love everton?, as you proclaim....for the betterment of the club, do the right thing..and stand down.the fans will be forever in your debt if you can move us forward, by finding new investment. you can go down in history...as the man who resurected a great club.....or as an egotist who stifled a team into obscurity..........you never know...they may errect a statue of you outside our new ground.

Believable11 Unbelievable0

Beautifully put, mate.

Agree9 Disagree0

Moyes doesn't need massive riches, he is shrewd in the transfer market, he just needs to be able to regulary compete for players in the 10-20 mill price range, our current squad does not need a lot spent on it. 30 mill would turn us into top 4 material

Agree3 Disagree0

I think you lot have forgot our recent 20 year history, the 80's days are well and truely gone. The little footstep approach taken by moyes and kenwright have taken us from last day battles to stay up to last day battles for a top 7 finish. I understand what you are saying looking around the likes of spurs and man city spending loads of money however not many of those players made it on the pitch for those teams last season. We dont need a big wage bill. 1 or 2 names in and bring through the young stars that everyone are raving on about.

i see the money-making season is here again....delusional liverpool fans betting that they will win the league ha ha take their money boys.....they really think they are contenders!!!....we have as good a chance as them...if not better!....just think what we would do, if we had their money....david could go out and buy an average, unproven, midfielder...for £20 million....or a lamp-post....from newcastle...for..£35 million.......oh how i hope we finish above them this season..and kick their asses in the derbies ......i will be a very rich man!.......although, ..prince kenny might resign...like he did last time COYB.

Believable8 Unbelievable0

I hope we finish above them this season..and kick their asses in the derbies.....

Thats all you wish for every season, thats the limit of your hopes, unfortunately for you it does not happen very often...LFC 50 years of continuous top flight football and NEVER outside the top 8, read it and weep! {Ed011's Note - The norwegians are in town again, i am sure you will enjoy watching an overpriced team come up short again , you must be used to it by now
