Ed any new news on the Junior Silva deal??. Lee the blue. {Ed013's Note - I have done some research and apparently Everton have signed him after fending off the likes of Man City and given him the number 30}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Guess you're a newbie then 013? Well, Junior has signed up and been given the number 30, but he needs international clearance I think.
And Ed, he was released from Man City, not chased by them {Ed013's Note - No not a newby, helping the other ED out who is away and that's why I had to do some research on the lad}

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh right, it may of came across in the wrong way, if it did I sincerely apologize, I have just never seen you before

And if you lot win it then good for you, you deserve it, but were going for the real trophy the big one, the f a cup

Agree0 Disagree0

According to the BBC (via Sky) MOTD starts at 3pm for 3.30 kick off.
Well if he switches on at 4 he'll have missed the first hour of match of the day and the first half hour of the game,
Sorry! I forgot the international time zones he's obviously an hour ahead so it will be 4pm where he is.

Afternoon Ed and Fellow Blues.

Just having a couple of days off and as usual my thoughts have turned to the blues.

Now in a perfect world we will win the FA cup and qualify for the Europa League through the winners place and the rest of this post will be academic.

Now as I understand how the european slots are allocated the next best case scenario is that we finish 5th and qualify that way.
Fourth and the Champions League would be amazing but unlikely given our slow start to the season.

Next best case scenario is that we are runners up in the FA cup to a team that has already qualified for Europe and therefore the runners up place is available.

Next is that we miss out on the FA Cup final and finish sixth and the FA cup is then fought out between two teams already qualified and the Europa spot goes to 6th in the league.

Now if we finish 7th and miss out on
the FA cup the only way to get
European football is if the RS win the carling cup and have already qualified for Europe through league position.

I'm not sure I could live with that to
be honest .There are some things that.... well aren't right.

I think I'd rather finish 8th.

Fingers crossed for a good run in and a Wembley Final.

So fellow blues whats it to be the possibility of more european places available through league position or the RS losing.

Well Big C. I don't care what RS achieve on Sunday. But if we get something from it then fine. But the difference between 7th and 8th is over 500k in prize money. That's something we can't dismiss.

I like the way you've broken it all down. It can be a tough one to get your head around. But like you rightfully state, let's get there by lifting the most sacred trophy in the history of the game. COYB

Cheers Ace,

I hadn't considered the cash for league position factor and then there's the financial benefits for being in the european competition, extra tv money, more sponsorship, more investment.

Getting there from our own endeavour is the way and winning the FA Cup has to be the best way to do it.

You're right of course I don't care what the RS do at the weekend but if we can benefit from it then so be it.

I will however earn brownie points If I appear pleased about it if they win as her indoors is a R#d. A moment of weakness 30 years ago, put it down to youth. Rest assured the kids were brought up properly and follow the true faith.

I think Everton can make the final im hoping for an all merseyside final myself..Think you lot will be too good for Sunderland.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont forget if man u or man c win the europa league then it adds on another spot. at least i think

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont care who wins what, we need european football to attract better players and move forward as a club, and if that means the sh*te win a cup then so be it

Agree0 Disagree0

Red s**te will probily beat Cardiff, we will win the FA cup.... If that theory fails we need Chelsea or spurs to win FA cup and us come runners up, only other route to Europe would be.. I think.. Fair play league, dunno how we and at the mo tho

Nice to see you keep the blue stuff running through the family. As for the moment of weekends it happens to us all mate. Even paul McCartney had one when he got involved with a band full of the RS still managed to stay a blue though. Tell your missus that despite the fact that she made the wrong choice in who to support she made up for it getting hitched 30 year ago to a real football fan. COYB

Ace,

30 years of being married have taught me one thing and that is never try to tell a woman that she did something wrong or that I am the correction.

Marry in haste etc,

The exception to that rule would be the marriage we make to the Blues, a life long love affair that never ends nor diminshes nor fades with time, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, blue till we die.

If Cardiff win they are not eligible to play in Europe so another euro place goes for the league positions

Darren Gibson out for 4 weeks ! The Everton injury jinx hit's yet another player !
Que Phil Neville in midfield FFS !
Hurry up Osman get back fit, would rather Ossie in centre mid than Phil Neville !

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Could be a chance for barkley, ossie could be back in time for our next game against qpr

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we're on that much of a roll that it won't matter who comes in for Gibson, the momentum is with us at the moment and I think Nev is more suited to the holding midfield role which will allow Felli to continue pushing up front.
Keep your chin up we've got a weekend off, which will help to get more people back from injury.
