Apart from the Barkely goal I thought we were fairly poor. ref was biased though - he favored them a bit

I lost count of the amount of times Gerry gave the ball away with unforced errors - Lukaku looks lost and with a hopelessly poor first touch - Barkely looks like he just goes absent from games by wandering around and hiding behind opponents so he can't receive a pass - he's not involved at all a lot of the time - and he's an attacking centre mid!

Others did ok but those three were poor for me despite the two goals - lucky to come out with a win to my mind

Into the 4th round though so can't complain too much but we need to improve in a few areas I reckon

Barkely has been great so far this season, didn't see any of the game last night but your description is the exact opposite of how he has been playing. Against Southampton absolutely everything went through him. He has been demanding the ball this season

Don't know what game you were watching but Barkley and Gerry were our main attacking threats. Barkley has had a great start to the season and yet people like you still try to call him out.

Okay. I say this a lot and it can be frustrating at times.

Players like Barkley and Ged will give the ball away a lot of the time. Maybe only 20 30% will sometimes will get through. That's because they are the difficult passes or difficult runs or trying something technically difficult to create those chances.

But

They will create goals or chances for others and may only be two or three but they'll be good opportunities.

As for going missing during games. That is exactly what they should do. Drift in between the lines and if anyone has seen Messi who walks everywhere when he hasn't the ball that is exactly what he does. Defenders cannot keep still and they don't walk so they move away from the player. This creates space for them.

Barkley for me has not been below a 7 so far this season and has contributed towards 8 goals in all comps! He needs to keep it up.

Well, we won, yay, still, the formation was terrible, looked a basic 3-5-2 at first but then turned out to be a 4-1-1-2-1-1 formation. Lennon Right Back? Seriously? Ridiculous. Few things we learned.

1.We need wingers, not wide midfielders, wingers.

2.Osman is garbage and hopefully is kept away from the first team when Cleverley and Besic are back.

3.Kone and Lukaku need to WAKE UP.

4.Lennon is not a Right Back.

5.Barry is boss

6.Lennon is not a Right Back.

7.Deulofeu is magic.

8.Barkley looks a different player to last season.

9.LENNON IS NOT A RIGHT BACK!.

Didn't watch the match but saw the team and assumed it was a back 3, did Lennon seriously play right back?!?

Swan wasn't Roberto using the League Cup to experiment a little, give game time to Del Boy and Ossie. All last season you complained RM was inflexible only had one game plan. as soon as he tries something different you criticise him. We have lost once in 8 games of which 5 have been away. We beat Southampton, drew with Spurs and Swansea away all teams above us last season. Beat Chelsea and only lost to the best team in the Premier Leagu at the moment. Why the negativity?

Here here Wellzee loving your posts at the moment. As for the comment about Osman above he is only back from injury and needs playing time to get back into the swing of things. It makes my blood boil when people call a great servant like Osman garbage because he has a bad game. Or a couple of bad games.

Every player is going to have a bad game from time to time, its inevitable. Suppose people giving out about that is inevitable also. I think Osman can still be a good squad member for the rest of the season at least if he stays injury free.

We were playing, more or less, 442, and it was, more or less, working, and we had, more or less, stopped playing tip tap in our own final third, I REALEY did think that the stubourn spanish donkey had finnally seen the eror of his ways. But a " brilliant" new tactical plan, think it's called the dog breakfest, and it makes the second eleven of a championship side look world class. Please put him on a donkey, point it in the direction of spain, then slap it's ass.

Wins a win and glad of that but think Lakaku should go and see the club doc about his first touch sledge foot syndrome.

Shall we just opt out of the League Cup every season? The 3rd round every time. I can't believe I have to tell a Manager of a Football Club paid millions a year, *ahem*, AARON LENNON IS NOT A RIGHT BACK!!.

Just a quick one for all the readers , what would your best 15 man Everton team be of all time old and new would any of the current team get a look in , you can also include the manager and what position you think we would finish in this year's league

Southall

Wilson Mountfield Ratcliff G Stevens

Kendal Reid Ball T Steven

Latchford lineker

These are players from my time so Lawton and Dean don't get in. Lineker I had to stick in even though very short term at Everton. Probably could not play Both Latchford and likekar. Gaza no but the greatest to wear an England shirt IMO.

I know I should include Southall, Sharp and Reid, I have only seen videos and I personally love watching Kevin Sheedy, again only on video. So I'm going off of what I have seen during my lifetime, I was a baby when in 95 so no one from there will be in.

Martyn

Coleman Stones Jagielka Baines

Mirallas Carsley Cahill Pienaar

Lukaku Yakubu

Could of had Distin in there but Stones is too good not to play. Could of chose Coleman or Hibbert but Coleman is superior going forward. We always had central players on the right like Arteta or Osman, Mirallas is the most talented and magical out of everyone and the first really tricky player I saw us have on the right. Could of picked Arteta, Fellaini or McCarthy in the centre. Never a fan of Arteta personally not just because of the person he is just as a footballer. Fellaini was boss and so is Jimmy Mac. Carsley was so good he had a position named after him, did Barry AND McCarthy's jobs on his own, boss player. Cahill is in there because he and Naismith have the best jump I have seen on a small player. Cahill always gave his all and would get goals. Pienaar and Baines purely for the partnership but an in form Pienaar when he was here the first and second time, was one of the best left midfielders in England. That is one lazy strike partnerships. Yakubu because he was a goal machine, at first anyway, Rom is the same but there is nothing better than watching him in full flow running with the ball and knocking players out the way before smashing one in. Could have picked Rooney but no, I never understood that, he did nothing WITH Everton so when I see people do these teams and they leave out Heath, Gray, Sharp or Ferguson and put Rooney on there, for me that is odd. Would Barnsley fans put Stones in their greatest teams? Bournmouth fans put Defoe? QPR putting Sterling in there?. Maybe it's just me but I don't get it.

When he winter window opens and QPR are mid table in the championship I'd go for a cheeky 7 mil bid for Austin again. I love Rom but some games like Saturday we just need someone who can finish clinically and that is Austin.
