It's going to be a very, very tough game over the weekend. A lot of people seem to underestimate Villa but I for one think they have some decent players capable of hurting us. The fans will be pivotal against them and i'm sure it's another sell out crowd on our part again which is good to hear. Having said that, I think this is how the team should line up on Saturday:

GK: Howard
LB: Baines
CB: Jagielka
CB: Distin
RB: Coleman
LM: Pienaar
CDM: Barry
CM: McCarthy
RM: Mirallas
CAM: Barkley
ST: Lukaku

For me, this is our strongest side currently. Although, I think that it won't be long before John Stones and Deulofeu start pushing for starting places as they are both great prospects and are still learning. I'd also like to say, McCarthy has been the signing that has surprised me the most so far. Obviously I knew of his talent when he played for Wigan, but it's not until you watch him week-in-week-out that you begin to appreciate what a special footballer he is.

Villa with benteke are a better team but by no means anything special, without him on sunday they looked poor so if he turns up to play we will have a game otherwise we should be winning come saturday

Wat a traitor david moyes is, I'm very upset to find out moyes was conspiring with fergie to run down his contract and join utd, our club lost out on compo, hard cash, he's stole
From us the ultimate betrayal,,,,,, tristan

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Did I hear that right? watching the interview with sir purple bugle tonight, he said Moyes told him that "they (everton) are trying to force me to sign a new contract".By all accounts BK and Moyes had a great working relationship based on trust and respect. Can anyone really believe BK would try and force Moyes to sign a new contract?.The more we hear about Moyes and united the more intriguing its becoming, and the more and more Moyes becomes a two faced liar.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm intrigued to see how Degsypulford responds to these latest 'revelations' :o).
Ok, so it doesn't detract from the solid, steady job he did for us over the years but this 'man of integrity and honour' BS myth has truly taken an almighty knock.
Oh, and Thank You ever so much Alex ferguson.
Granville.

Agree0 Disagree0

And the more satisfying to see him fail so miserably with every game. The majority of Manchester United fans want him out now, I look forward to the day they start singing from the stands

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm glad about these revelations, obviously kenwright wasn't happy about moyes comments in the summer .these latest comments must make any dealings between everton and utd even more difficult .people say ferguson and moyes are from the same stock .well they are two arrogant people, with no class

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love to see us beat em twice this season, excluding cup games. Let Ross loose on Feli to ghost passed him and make him look a .

Agree0 Disagree0

It was obvious that he knew about the job early on, maybe before christmas, I find it more interesting the interview with BK in june were he looked, shocked and close to tears, when in fact it looks like he new when moyes did that he was going

Agree0 Disagree0

Well we all knew right from the start he was being tapped up. that's why he never signed the new deal. So now that whisky nose has finally admitted it to the whole world. Shouldnt we get any compo? Probably won't get any so just sit back and watch the OT chaos I am and its wonderful. Enjoy it while it lasts moyes. Coyb

Agree0 Disagree0

You do have to wonder what the club's lawyers and directors were doing all that time, in failing to react to what was such an obvious conflict of interests. If I was a shareholder i'd be demanding answers.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jamie Christmas! What have the club's lawyers or directors got to do with this. Like him or not (Moyes) he hardly did anything illegal. What did you want BK to do, tie him to a chair with a gun to his head and force him to sign a contract? Do you want him incarcerated? Banished to hell for his crimes?
He honoured his contract, it may have been a sneaky way to go about things with the smoke and mirrors and bluffing but it's not illegal to honour a contract and keep your options open.

Agree0 Disagree0

Response to Granville. I have not heard the interview with Sir rednose but will say this: I have said all along that Moyes was tapped up by Utd/DSir Alex. That is blatantly obvious and we behaved with much more integrity when going for RM. I also think it all came to a head after Utd won the premiership rather unexpectedly. I also believe Moyes was running his contract down knowing this. I also believe BK knew this was going on and was trying to get Moyes to sign a new contract. This happens in all walks of life including football. I don't know if there are rules about managers being tapped up? What is Moyes supposed to have done wrong? genuine question.
Degsypulford

Agree0 Disagree0

He did nothing wrong as far as I'm concerned in taking the job Degsy. Nothing illegal there. What I take issue with are the lies and deceit involved and his subsequent disrespect to Everton and its supporters.
There were 2 ways it could've gone, he could've been shown the door in Dec/Jan, whenever which could've derailed our season (or, alternatively, galvanised the team to push for a top 4 spot) or stayed, as was the case, which, I would argue, also derailed our season due to the uncertainty.
I also firmly believe we didn't strengthen in the January window as it was known he was leaving.
What could've been different? Handling himself with dignity and respect after the fact.
I don't claim to have the answers but, as I've said before, a little respect and honesty would have been appreciated.
I always thought he was a decent bloke, if a little cold and prickly, but I couldn't have been more wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh here we go the united haters now out in force these the same that pack the pubs on county road on match days cheering united on and this is all facts as I've got mates who are blues and I've seen them doing it total disgrace to the badge and the city

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry forgot to sign my post in response to Degsy

not a rumour, but would just like to thank alex ferguson in pursuading david moyes not to sign a new contract, I am now enjoying watching everton again

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Completely agree mate, we now see Davey in his true colours hope he gets al that is due to him, what's your take on this Ed GuernseyBlue {Ed013's Note - Unfortunately a lot of this goes on in football, but I don't agree with it}

Agree0 Disagree0

This should again harden kenwrights stance towards moyes and utd, he can't be nothing but totally disrespected by these comments by ferguson .any dealings with utd should now be totally off the radar .as for Baines **** them right off .we as a football club need to show what we really are one of the giants of British football .up the toffees

I think Tim Cahill coming back as a player/coach would be good. He is considered as a legend by many of us, he has a great personality and the right attitude. He would offer us something in the way of coaching. He would also give us another option in the number 10 position. Barkley is great, but I think we should also be able to mix it up a bit. I was glad when he went because he wasn't getting constant football, but if he wanted to become a coach eventually, this would be a good way to go about it.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He WAS a legend but his performances dropped the latter part of his everton career so you making up he's coming back to mix it up sounds daft, as a coach maybe, as a player never

Agree0 Disagree0

Talking about Tim C. Check out Youtube searching "tim cahill fastest ever goal". It's a stormer! Just last weekend, apparently!

That era has passed now, so now it's time to look to the future it's no good always looking back all the time.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have strong feelings about Tim Cahill. I believe he was an absolute legend for Everton. As the man behind the striker, his form did dip towards the end and the goals dried up. But then, about a month before he leaves, he's tried as a defensive midfielder, filling in for injuries and he was fantastic there in the few games he played. Showed he still had a lot to offer. We then sell him out of nowhere. In my opinion he should never have left when he did. He deserved a proper send off and I don't feel he ever had that. He did come back to visit that time on the pitch but it all seemed an after thought. I'd love nothing more than to see him back as a coach. He is a leader and a positive influence wherever he goes. He has been magnificent over years for Australia, playing in world cups and scoring goals. New York are top of the MLS and Millwall fans still speak glowingly of him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Onwards and upwards my friend. We should be looking at bringing in younger players, not going back. Loved Tim but he has had his time.

Agree0 Disagree0

My point is, that Barkley commands that position but imagine him having Cahil to learn from. Cahill would be another option without damaging Barkleys game time at all. He would act more as a coach, a tutor but I think he could still do a job in the premier league. We do not need another young lad in that role, Barkley is the future of that position. Don't underestimate experience. I think Tim would be a boost in january, and would improve Barkley's game. Plus he is a goal scorer.

Agree0 Disagree0

Im guessing the last poster was the opening poster then, I gather from your response your more hoping rather than it actually being a rumour as you first stated, i'm not going to slate cahill because he gave his all for everton but your crazy to think that him coming to play for us again will improve us, as for tutoring the only part of his game barkley lacks that cahill was master off was arriving late and his headers off course.

Im finding it hard to see were you have thought up this need to bring him back?

Agree0 Disagree0

Tim Cahill is scoring for fun in the MLS at present, he is absolutely bang in form and that's the way it should always be for our super timmy. No corner flag will go unpunished.

toffee jack {Ed025's Note - the MLS is a bit different to the EPL though jack..
