Confused, not sure who is in charge on the board get the feeling BK wants money to be invested but still wants to run his club. Also what is Walsh doing and what is his influence, seems to have pushed for shakespeare and Allydyce. old boy network.

Ed002, You're a well connected chap. Could you shed a light on where we are with this manager search? Do we have a plan and a viable target for the vacant position?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware that anything has changed.}

22 Nov 2017 22:38:26
So wom do you think may get the job?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Right now in the medium term they may leave Unsworth.}

22 Nov 2017 22:49:44
Thanks Ed. What a mess!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It is not the way to go about it.}

23 Nov 2017 08:11:11
Understatement! by Ed002, but succinct. Let's see if we can get a win tonight and what side Unsworth puts out. What I think we would all like is a settled side of consistency (positive results consistency) but until we can string 3 or 4 positive results together the old adage of 'don't change a winning side' does not apply to us. Still, COYB.

On good authority Silva is dead in the water. Where to now? Think we'll have to stick with Unsy until the summer but the board need to back him and let him buy a striker in January.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

22 Nov 2017 22:30:23
If that is the way they eventually/ have to go (with Unsy) , one thing certainly has to change, nothing personal but from a purely professional point of view Mr Walsh should be moved back into the position he was essentially appointed for that of Chief Scout and someone more experienced in the role of DoF either promoted or recruited because quite plainly the experiment of Mr Walsh in that role has failed dismally.

22 Nov 2017 23:23:15
If the rumours about interest in Rangnick are true and not just recycling old rumours then perhaps that could be with a view to a Sporting Director or Director of Football and Walsh can do Head of Scouting 🤔.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - That is certainly not the plan.}

23 Nov 2017 07:01:21
I know but could be better than what is currently in place.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Nov 2017 13:12:14
I thought Mr Walsh was appointed for the DOF job not as a scout. Either way can you see him taking a demotion to chief scout. can't see it myself.
Hopefully lessons have been learnt and similar recruitment mistakes won't be made again.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Nov 2017 13:41:09
I get that Smit666, was just throwing it out there. Not the horses mouth but perhaps the only way (at the time) to get Walsh - the scout - was it he was appointed DoF. As you say hopefully lessons have been learned and perhaps the media frenzy about dithering is incorrect.

Just 2 points quickly

1. What happened to Garbutt? I know he failed at Fulham but we've seen him play, there is a player in there, I've said for a while he's far more talented than Luke Shaw and he reminds me of Baines with even more pace and he's far better at 23 than Baines was at 23, I hope he gets some more chances because he's clearly good enough, I hope it isn't an attitude problem
Feel we should've replaced Baines 2 seasons ago, I don't mean get rid of Baines, I think we should've had a replacement sorted, think we missed a trick not getting Ricardo Rodriguez from Wolfsburg or Andrew Robertson from Dundee Utd, his legs are gone and while still quality on the ball, can't get into those advanced positions anymore.

2. While I tend not to pay too much attention to Joey Barton because he's an absolute scumbag
His comments recently about our manager hunt being "embarrassing" because we are being turned down left right and centre, I find that funny, because from what I can tell, Allerdyce got bored, Silva wants it and Simeone's people approached us
He's still very bitter about us releasing him as a kid and the abuse he gets (which is deserved)
And his comments about Unsworths weight, quite funny considering he wanted Allerdyce to manage Everton
I hope the Ed's don't get rid of this statement but if they do then I get why
Everton fans agreeing with him and going on about how great he is on social media just stop, Barton is an absolute scumbag and is exactly like his brother, I'm embarrassed that he has a job at all in the media.

Good post that and have wondered the same thing about Garbutt.

Re Barton, he makes the odd valid point about football in general but is clearly hugely bitter about not playing for us at senior level. His comments most of the time are just like Chris Sutton's - deliberately idiotic and provocative to get people talking about him.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Nov 2017 22:25:39
He does make a valid point but he is still a wazak. One thing is certain however, once this present debacle of Manager is he/ isn't he/ will he/ won't he, is over, at Boardroom level heads are going to roll.

Bartom is a rat. In my opiniom Unsworth had a far better career than him and he should show some respect for someone who was and still is actually professional.

Joey Barton and his opinions are about as valid as a swimsuit in the desert.
Talksport are the sun supporting station so does not surprise me that this is the station that gives a banned footballer airtime.

According to bt sport, niasse been banned for 2 games for diving.

22 Nov 2017 16:58:30
If he hadn't then we would not have got something out of the game. Some of the purists out there may not like what I say but I would rather we got something than nothing out of games, not by outright cheating but feel a touch and no opportunity to score then go down.

22 Nov 2017 17:31:05
palace fans moaning they could go down, he could of kept us up by going down.

22 Nov 2017 18:22:54
He could of kept them up if they had signed him when they had the chance.

I'm sorry Everton or not I hate diving, I don't feel the need to fling myself to the floor when I'm playing somwhy should the pros.

22 Nov 2017 19:06:48
Gibbo, it goes on at every football club, everyone does it, I’m not just talking about outright diving, I’m on about when there is contact and they go down, why shouldn’t we be ruthless and nasty like that when everyone else does, nice guys finish last.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i know a few pro players swan and they actually get taught to go down, it sounds incredible but they are not lying mate and goes on at at most clubs..

22 Nov 2017 19:19:47
I believe you mate, I feel it’s evolving each season and we need to aswell, if everyone else is doing it, we should too.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Nov 2017 19:26:11
What I'm saying is no player/ club should be doing it. It's embarrassing.

22 Nov 2017 22:03:54
Dive and the ref sees it and its only a yellow card, yet retrospectively it's a 2 game ban?
The reason is because the player deceives the ref, yet some of the standard of officiating is deceiving the players yet they get away with it? Referees performances should be scrutinised more and they should be treated similarly what with them apparently being professional, maybe that way 'big club' biased officiating may stop.

Glad to see bolasie back training again. Been a long road for him. Hope it's not too long before he's back on the pitch.

Its been a longer harder road for us not having him. Great to see him back, can we have him for Sunday lol.

Been a good buy, wasn’t too keen when we got him but he’s been good for us, assisted a fair few before his injury, miss his pace, power and direct play, he makes things happen quickly which is something our other attacking players don’t.

22 Nov 2017 16:09:09
It must be a different fella. I remember him being quite frustrating in his first dozen games for us and he didn't set the world alight. however, let's hope he can add something to the team and get us through til January and get this mess sorted out.

22 Nov 2017 18:46:23
Well you must admit he did add a fair bit of pace!

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Nov 2017 19:08:18
Frustrating yes undoubtably but no one can deny we’ve missed someone who can run at people because our team is about as slow as a tourtoises dad

Anyone who remembers my posts from before we signed him will know I didn’t want us to get him but I can’t say we haven’t missed him, we have, missed Coleman too.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Nov 2017 20:32:19
I just hope Bolasie, Funes Moro and Coleman come back after such long injuries and can get back to being as good as they were. A lot of players out for that long are never quite the same.
