Good news about el del plus Henen back at finch farm to sign his contract. Garbutt looks like he's signing for 5 years as well.

I want to see us out there now looking for some quality and mainly a striker. I'm not sure ameobi is the answer and the other, Defrel, I don't know a lot about. Someone more prolific is what I want with proven quality.

We also still need that experienced rotational CB who can give jags or stones a rest without it being someone who scares the s*it out me when he plays. So glad Alcaraz has gone.

Aside from that I'll be happy and looking for a good season. Otherwise I'm chucking my brown shoes in the bin.

Had a good few days. Birthday. First grandchild. First grandchild gets Everton gear.
Red nosed dominated family then try to take shine off it by saying he will be subjected to many years of misery and suffering as an Evertonian.
He's born a Blue and won't regret it. There's no substitute.

{Ed025's Note - congratulations tedster..

being born an Evertonian is like being born Jewish,
comes from the bloodline & is forever.
enjoy teaching your grandson all about being a true blue in goodtimes & bad.
once a blue, always a blue.
Mozzltov Tedster.

Doofy loofy is in liverpool apparantly tying up the loose ends of the deal. Great news this but its just a begining. Any news on the other targets ed, do we know who martinez preferred targets for the no.10 and cb positions are?

{Ed025's Note - loads of names being bandied about sheeds, but nothing of any note mate..

I think Kagawa would be the perfect fot for our number 10

{Ed025's Note - good shout that brad..

23 Jun 2015 18:02:11
Totally agree Brad and Ed, Kagawa is a top player and possibly within our price range. That position is the one we need to address most in my opinion, other than CB and this was Kagawas best position when he was on fire at Dortmund. Rarely got pit there at Man U, which is why he struggled. Also having an Asian player on the team is great for the clubs recognition. I remember When Bolton signed Chung Yun Lee, their demand for tickets skyrocketed, mainly amongst the Asian community. Would be good business on many levels. Yes. Get Kagawa!

More reports in the Turkish press that Raul Meireles is on his way to us. Forget the fact that we have a well stocked centre mid (McCarthy, Barry, Besic, Ossie, Gibson, Barkley.) was he actually any good? Average at best for me. Throw in the fact that he's a red and it's just tabloid trash. Isn't it?
If we are going for another player in the middle, must be smeone with flair, a goal, an eye for a pass, something!

I'm pretty confident we will not be selling Stones. Only if the lad does a Lescott on us can I see him going. He loves it at Everton and seems to be well grounded enough to stay and become an Everton Great.

It's being reported that Garbut will sign a new deal when he returns from international duty then loaned out to Bournemouth. That's a genius move for us as it means we keep him but don't have to worry about him sulking when Galloway gets the nod in front of him.

With TC and good (almost) in we can perhaps use what funds we have in concentrating on a striker and creative midfielder

Could be a good window

I personally see garbutt as the better future left back because of his attacking side. Galloway looks better suited as a future centre back, quick and decent in the air.

I agree Avro, but they'll probably start Galloway out wide to keep him out of trouble until he can be trusted in his favourite position at this high level.

good news about Jags new contract,
but the long term future for our defence must
be. to sign Heaton as the new keeper, & play
COLEMAN, GALLOWAY, STONES & GARBUTT (when he re signs)
this could be the long term future of our back 5 for the next 10 years.
the great Everton teams of the 60's 80's have always been based on a stable back 5
we have plenty of midfield players(if we can keep old of them) & stikers will always come & go, so we need to complete the deal on Del boy, sigh Austin, bring in more young talent from Spain, Belgium & Holland.

Agree. With the back four could be solid in a season or two, if we can hold on to them? However, if we're talking long term then we should also be looking for a young keeper. That is of course if Robles is not the solution.

I am a realist, I know everyone has there price, but, the notion that we would even consider selling Jonh Stones to chelsea for £15m, in the present market, is compleat nonsence, I don't want us to sell, but if it is to happen, surley the bidding would have to start at £30m, plus add ons, just to get a conversation. He is one year into a 5 yrar contract, and by common consent, the best young c/back in europe.

It's literally a diabolical liberty JCW , an effin insult!

the sort of offer you would make to the lower league clubs perhaps on the brink of financial crisis.

SHOVE IT! :(

15 million is an absolute joke. Tell them £50 million and that's final. If David 'Nutmeg' Luiz is worth that price then so is John Stones on potential alone!

I hope Everton can keep Stones, the best player for the future by a long way. If Liverpool see Sterling as a 50m player then Everton must do the same.
I consider Stones a far better professional as well in performance, attitude and behaviour. Nothing less than 50m.
You have only got to think what Rooneys value was when sold and compare that to today's values.
Everton have been ripped off once with Lukakus valuation, can't and must not happen again!

If stones was to go there is no way he will go for less than 35m IMO

{Ed025's Note - we will accept 2 overrated overpaid hasbeens plus 2 bob and a dead mouse with this manager and board coby..
