Just saw wigan chairman on sky news saying that villa bid was under asking price, but there is 2 other teams interested and one of them is extremely interested but need to find the funds but are struggling at the minute. Im guessing that team he described was us If we are interested and apparently "extremely" interested then we must have some idea of when were getting money to fund the move otherwise what is the point in wasting wigan's time ? {Ed025's Note - i think we are waiting for the lottery results..

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Haha funny that ed i can just picture bk and dm sittin with there tickets in there hands lmao

Dave whelan on sky sayin two other prem clubs besides villa in for Nzogbia. He said they dont wanna be named but one really wants him but are strugglin to raise the finance. Wonder who that is Embarrasin isnt it? {Ed025's Note - yes

Believable4 Unbelievable0

I get the impression that Whelan wants to do business with the blues but he's not going to hang on forever. {Ed025's Note - i know..unless we get a rattle on..were going to lose him..

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats exactly what i was thinking mate, it would suggest that n'zogbia would prefere us so he can stay in the north west maybe ? and dave whealen and davie moyes have a decent footballing relationship, but as you said he isn't going to wait forever because he will want money himself to buy player's Get a move on blue's This is becoming ridiculous

Jags is going nowhere, Wenger isn't paying any more than £15m. ( I seriously don't know how some Blues can price him at £25m+, talk about being bias. {Ed025's Note - if carroll is worth £35m mate....jags is worth double that!..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

But you see the thing is, Carroll isn't worth 35m, it's not other teams faults that Liverpool consist on overpricing average players, we all know Carroll is worth 10m max. Jags isn't worth 25m+ in my opinion. {Ed025's Note - he is an england international in his prime, i think £25m is fair..

Agree0 Disagree0

I seriously don't know how some blues can talk such shxte as you...he's a quality player.. and worth far more than the peanuts that Wenger is offering...maybe we should bend over and get shafted like we always do. {Ed025's Note - i think this guy is a red..or a really bad blue?...

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually I don't think my passion for Everton should be questioned due to me having an opinion, I've been a blue for over 15 years, and quite frankly I don't see how Jagielka is worth any more than 20m. Sorry for having an opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jul 2011 17:23:18
if phil jones if worth 16 million then jagielka must be worth near 30million so if we do sell jags which i hope we don't we should hold out for a bid around 30million {Ed025's Note - if we sell him to the reds...we would get £80m they pay over the odds for everyone..

Rodwell is still just 20, and has plenty of time to become a top class midfielder - especially if his early career injury trouble is down to growth.

Rodwell possesses a powerful strike, is decent in the tackle, comfortable on the ball, and a good passer who plays with his head up.

He has all the attributes to become a great footballer in the right hands - and could replace the retired Paul Scholes.

Would £15m be a gamble or a steal for Manchester United? {Ed025's Note - i would say..a steal....the reds bought, henderson for £16.5, and hes better than him...but utd can afford to rotate and rest players..our squad will be stretched to the limit..

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Rodwell will be a top midfielder and a very good centre back in a few years, he is worth more because he will be as competent in two positions {Ed025's Note - its nice to hear something positive about rodders..im sure wherever he is in a few years he will be successful..

Agree0 Disagree0

I still think we won't sell anyone apart from yak and yobo and we will just get a couple of players on loan, or maybe a 5/6 mill player, with the funds from the sales. {Ed025's Note - i think you may be right..but it may be easier to get rid of shingles...than the yak..

Agree0 Disagree0

This could well be the season for rodwell to shine, in an everton shirt of course. {Ed025's Note - i would love to see that..

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jul 2011 16:24:04
Arteta out with a foot injury, anyone else agree we should just cash in on him, too injury prone these days and we have enough quality central midfielders. {Ed025's Note - i for 1 dont want to lose arteta...he is the one player who can change a game, in an instant..we need to keep all our top players..

Believable3 Unbelievable2

I heard it's a cunning plan by Moysie to get all his players to fake injury over in the States, then the board will have to dig into their pockets for emergency signings.
Rodwell's next, he's been instructed to fall out of the tour bus just before next kick off thus 'rupturing' his ankle ligaments. {Ed025's Note - even if half the squad were amputees...i doubt we would get any poke out of that lot..

Agree0 Disagree0

I can smell bulls**t

Cant understand why an update I provided wasnt printed, seems the Daily Mail followed it anyway regarding Jags.

12 million rejected Arse will now come back with a deal worth 18.5 million with add ons.

On earlier comments it was mentioned that Scott Dan wont come to Everton cos he is an Liverpool fan, errrr Peter Reid, Kevin Sheedy, Alan Harper, Dave Watson all Liverpool fans...originally {Ed025's Note - you are right..just because you support 1 team...does,nt mean, you cant play for another?...but i would prefer..gary cahill...to scott dann..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

How about samba from blackburn as a replacement for jags if he moves to the arse? Different sort of player, but a top player. {Ed025's Note - hes ok...but hes not jags..i dont think we can afford to lose him..

Agree0 Disagree0

I trust Moyes to find a bargain who is as good as Jags. {Ed025's Note - hopefully...jags wont leave..

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont no if reading have sold him yet but matt mills is a great cb {Ed025's Note - he is good.....but he has signed for leicester..

Ok, to settle the great shirt number debate once and for all: EVERY SQUAD MEMBER FROM LAST SEASON IS AVAILABLE. Obviously minus the players who have been sold/released. Jags is there (6), Yak (22), Yobo (4), Rodwell (26), Jonny H (5), Baines (3) and all the rest, the best of the kids are on there as well.

For me though, anyone forking out for shirt printing before the squad numbers have been submitted to the league and before the end of the transfer window has got more money than sense {Ed025's Note - thanks for clearing that up....now let it rest guys!.

Just a question for you all

Rodwell, Fellaini, Jags and Baines are all classed as our top leavers.

If one was to go for 20M which one would you prefer to go and why?

Steve J (Blue Nose) {Ed025's Note - rodders..because he has yet to prove himself..to be premiership quality..

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Thank you someone agrees with me for once

Steve J (Blue Nose)

Agree0 Disagree0

Me too, Steve. (See my reply to another post below this)

Agree0 Disagree0

It has been talked about that rodwell might eventually become a centre half, if jags goes could moyes give him a chance there next season and spend the jags money on a winger and a striker, with heitnga and distin being the first choice partnership

Agree0 Disagree0

Non of them we gel well as a team so we dont want to break apart now do we even though we are short of cash, and we could always sell billy, yobo and yakubu to raise funds for N'zogbia and finaly get donovan back on loan happy days

Agree0 Disagree0

Its gotta be rodwell, baines and fellaini are the best in there positions in the prem and jags has proven himself as a top class player definitely as good if not better than gary cahill whereas jack didnt progress last season all his performances were averaage

Agree0 Disagree0

I would sell Fellaini because he's been injured most of the time and lets face it at some point in the next season or 2 he will leave. He has already stated he wants to go to a team who can offer champions league football so at some point he will go. Rodwell is young and will improve and christ he's English?? We achieved all we did last season without Felliani didn't we? {Ed025's Note - not many people will agree with you..feliani..is a proven quality player...rodders..is potential...yet to be fulfilled..

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jul 2011 13:05:55
I have been thinking about the possibility of selling Jags to Arsenal and I think if we could get £20mil + then we should sell.

Of course I would not want to see our best players sold but unfortunately we don't have a billionaire owner that will throw tens of millions into the squad each year.

If we can get 3-4 players with the money off Jags to improve the squad then that is surely better...if anyone can remember a few years back when we sold Rooney most people were in uproar about....but as Evertonians we must ask the question "Are we a better team now because of the money off Rooney?"...in my opinion anyway..100% better.

The issue regarding the replacement of Jags...maybe we already have a ready made one in Rodwell.....Moyes himself as said he sees Rodwell as a central defender.

Maybe while we still have the likes of Distin and Heitinga...rthis could be a transitional season for Rodwell to step into Central Defence.....just a thought....(What do you think Ed?) {Ed025's Note - i think you are a very articulate person, who has thought things through carefully...although i dont want to lose jags...your argument is very plausible...thanks mate.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

We won't get near 20m for Jags, Wenger aint paying any more than 15m. {Ed025's Note - then they aint getting him...

Agree0 Disagree0

I am hating every minute of these "Jags to Arsenal" rumours. Along with Bainsey he is the player I would least like to see leave. I have always thought he would be our next captain. I understand the requirement to sell before we can buy, but personally it would be, (in order of value), Rodders/Fellaini, Heitinga, Mikel, Billy, Yobo, Yak. A couple of these sales, then buying Vargas from Fiorentina & Sturridge from Chelsea, & I'm happy. (Don't ask a lot from life do I?)

Toffee Tezza

IM(&K)WT {Ed025's Note - you have very high ambitions....please join our board of directors..

Agree0 Disagree0

I personally don't think jags would be that overkeen to move to the gooners, he was linked there last season and on both occasions has given no indication that he wants to move. I would love to sign sturridge, but i think he will be a big part of chelseas plans next season and will be a better bet than ladyboy torres next season

not sure weather jags wants arsenal, if he does go (hopefully not) i think he is irreplaceable the only replacement i would go for is Dann. oh and Ed ive heard of us signing Daniel Heath from notts county acadamy any news ? {Ed025's Note - no mate new one on me the heath shout....but we have enough young talent....we need an experienced striker!..

everton dont need to buy any players we have many very exiting prospects coming through we are on the verge of something very special trust me.when the new laws on home grown talent kick in we will be wiping the floor with everyone kenwright and the board arnt stupid they know exactly what there doing have some trust believe me this is going to happen. we will piss all over liverpools over priced english signings we have twenty hendersons coming through come on you blues ps av you seen the size ov barkley hes a tank this year is going to be the year everton turn things round now come on blues get behind the team and show the rest of the leauge its not just about money come onnnnnnnnnnnnn everton {Ed025's Note - just when i was losing faith....you come along.....AND CHEER ME RIGHT UP!!!......i needed that...thanks..

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Your welcome lad ive been falling into the doom and gloom trap myself alot lately its easily done but ive thought long and hard about this everton are a very proffesionally run club.they know the way things are going and they know we cant compete financially but they knew this years ago.thats why we got finch farm we have lots and lots of very exiting prospects coming through rodwell and rooney are just the tip of the iceberg. halam hope for exaple looks fantastic and from what ive seen and heard about barkley hes going to be the envy of every team in the league and there just two ov many coming through not being funny but nzogbia and players were linked with we just wont need them soon we will be the ajax of england trust me come on you blues get in there ive refound my faith and it feels so good {Ed025's Note - praise the lord for this guy....to me..he is the second coming....look out world.....everton are coming to get ya..

Agree0 Disagree0

Im big al bates by the way and we can all lose our faith but you will never lose your love of the everton so get behind the club and lets hear the raw of the faithful come on you blues {Ed025's Note - well said big al..

Agree0 Disagree0

Hello Mr Kenwright hows the 24/7 search going?

Agree0 Disagree0

We can't rely on youngsters, youngsters make mistakes. We need a new player that gives us goals and decent experience. {Ed025's Note - i remember a certain mr hansen saying that, and getting egg on his face....but i agree with you....i would like a new forward..

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't have the same faith mate. The board aren't very good at all. No getting away from that. Arteta should have been sold a couple of seasons ago with the money reinvested. Rodwell should have been a done deal at the start of this window so we could build early. But why go on about Liverpool? P*$$es me off. Unfortunately they look like they've sorted them selves out and no doubt about it have bought quality players (if over priced). But thats them. Don't back the board blindly. They're at fault. We're at a cross roads. Lost. {Ed025's Note - being life-long everonians, we are used to adversity, in fact ..we thrive on it!..we know we are the poor relations on merseyside..that s what makes our achievements, taste that much sweeter...the reds spend hundreds of millions each year...we spend about thirty bob...and they are no better than us!..so be proud..and hold your head up high...for we are THE PEOPLES CLUB, and the pride of merseyside..

Agree0 Disagree0

Your wrong ed. I'm not having a go, just disagreeing with you. If the club was ran better we would have more money to invest in players. Have more achievements? What achievements? Winning a derby? Beating the Mancs? Getting in to europe to be turned over? With the history of the club, if that is what we've now lowered are sights to then we'll never compete ever again. If you think that our youth team is going to save us then I'd have to disagree. They'll be sold off before any of them has more than 2 seasons under their belt. Then maybe Kensh*te will suddenly find his buyer. This obsession with the redsh*te is pointless. In truth, they are at a level we should be at. That's why we're jealous. They'll probably feel they're not at the level they should be at. That's why they're jealous of UTD. If Hodgson had stayed on for the full season then maybe all of our dreams may have came true. But they have turned it around. Don't forget our youth was battling it out with them for 1st and 2nd. Days gone by for the first teams. But this season, our first teams are going to be miles apart in my opinion. Is its our dream to see liverpool crumble? Not mine mate. Forget about them. Everton need to improve in all area's. On and off the park. This is a dig at Kensh*te and nobody else. Read a post of a fan saying he's shrewd... Well your correct. And he's got the measure of you. {Ed025's Note - thanks for your post mate...i know that a lot of what you say holds water!..especially the points about our board, and chairman..who in my opinion are an absolute disgrace!...my point..is that we cant do nothing about this..we must all stand together and support the team , as best we can, and to be honest..i dont give a toss about what happens across the park..

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jul 2011 06:34:07
Just want to say, being realistic we have no chance of buying N'Zogbia, or anyone in the £5m+ bracket. Moyes has had a very short shoe string to work with all his Everton career. Moyes will not buy players that are overpriced, he will not be held to ransom. As for Mr A Wenger, the man has got no respect for Everton FC and for Jags, £10m for the most outstanding centre back in europe last year, too much crappy french wine in the close season. IMWT.......COYB {Ed025's Note - i tend to agree with you..the longer this goes on...the more convinced i become, that we dont have a pot to p*ss in! and the worst thing is....so do all the other clubs...so now they think, they can take advantage of the situation, by offering us paltry fees for our top players!...we are quickly becoming the laughing stock of the premier league...and unless our board, do something about it...and quick..i really fear for the future of our beloved club..

Believable2 Unbelievable0

22 Jul 2011 00:50:46
When are all the Everton players going to realise that they are at a fantastic football club with a very shrewd & talented manager in David Moyes. In our team we have the players that all the teams who finished above us last season want Leighton Baines has been linked with Arsenal & Man City, Jags with Arsenal, Rodwell linked to Man Utd, Chelsea, Man City & Spurs. Fellaini linked to Chelsea & Man Utd and Arteta linked with a move back to Spain and Heitinga to the Bundersliga. None of these players should be allowed to leave and they should believe that if these clubs want them to boost their chances of winning trophies, they can win trophies here at Everton if they all stay together & we sign a top class wide man with plenty of pace who can supply the crosses for a decent striker..... N'zogbia & Long/Pavlyuchenko maybe. {Ed025's Note - i agree..great post mate

Believable1 Unbelievable1

If Arsenal bid 10m for Jags, we will NOT get 18m AND Walcott, Walcott is young, English and fast. He's valued at around 15m himself {Ed025's Note - dead right my friend..
