Use our rumours form to send us everton transfer rumours.

All the FA Cup excitement got me reminiscing of cup finals of years gone by then I had a thought, does anybody know if Eddie Kavanagh is still about?
If he is does he still go to the game?
What a legend the man is, although in this day and age he'd probably get a life time ban.

Cheers for that bp, I didn't know Eddie and never met him but his name is legendary.
Hopefully Eddie's up there with the big man giving him the run around now and slipping his jacket off when the angels try to get a grip of him.

its been quiet ed for a few days regarding posts,is there a party somewhere I havint been invited to.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it is the post transfer window lull, unless a team is doing particularly badly or well, people really do love to moan, just check the Wolves site or how busy this site was when form was poor. When things are just ticking along, there is nothing to get excited or moan about really, so it goes a bit quiet. The Arsenal lot usually tell really bad jokes to fill the lull. Liverpool and Man Utd fans tend to fantasise about big signings they should have made or could make in the next window to change everything. I guess this ticking along thing is just new to Everton fans, it has been a while as it tends to be a rollercoaster ride!}

cheers ed some one talking at last I suppose leading up to tuesday nites away game at villa will fill the post bag a bit. roll on.

{Ed001's Note - I am surprised there is not more talk about your takeover, but I guess it is difficult to get information on it so people are just not sure what is happening.}

24 Feb 2016 15:28:11

I can't believe there are still people complaining about Howard. When he was in goal almost every post was about how he shouldn't be there. Well for the last 4 games he hasn't. There you go, everyone can be happy now. So please can we drop the Howard thing now and maybe talk about something like how good the balance of the team is now or how exciting next season might be with the take over and maybe a quality #10 coming in.

Yep. Lay off the howard slagging off. he's probably not had the best 18 months for us. but was good enough for most the previous 8 years. didn't deserve the treatment he was receiving off groups of our fans. Like any player in a blue shirt they deserve are full support. If this is the end then at least show the respect as a servant of everton any player deserves.

Bobbys has to take the blame Tim himself isn't going to say no but Bobby continued to flog a dead horse so to to speak so at the end of the decision the fault lies with him.

I'm (kind of) glad the club funked up (again) around signing Payet.
If Bobbie had him in our team he'd be warming the bench or passing sideways. Then everyone else would not get to see the wonderful player he is.
That said I hope he has a stinker on Saturday.

{Ed025's Note - hes a great player mate, we missed out big time there..

22 Feb 2016 15:23:40
Wasn't the reason he signed for the hammers because he wanted to go to London? I could be wrong but there was a player we were interested in who opted for West Ham rather than us for that very reason. The same player praised Everton for the way we conducted talks, his decision was based on wanting to be in the capital. No need to have a go at the club if Payet was that player.

Cheers Bretto for correcting me, knew there was one of their players but thought it was Payet.

23 Feb 2016 09:54:57
They sold Payet the concept of the new stadium as well, like Man City lucky to inherit a brand new stadium with little input or stress!

Speaking to Chelsea fans in work and they aren't happy with draw. They didn't want us.

It'll be a tight game imo. We will have our work cut out. They are slowly but surely climbing the table. Wouldn't be one bit surprised if Chelsea finish top 7.

Think we'll just shade it by a goal.

I'm an ordinary supporter, my only claim to fame, is I have been going to goodison since the 1960s, i'm not a coach, pundit or ex pro, so why has it taken a well paid manager so long to get, what the majority have been saying for two years that Tim howard is error prone and well past his sell buy date.

However the season pans out, I hope the new owners will see this man as the stubborn fraud he is, then a nice pay off and a p45.

Then a british manager who has just brought a club up from div 2, Steve Bruce, someone who knows how to defend.

Bruce would be a good option for a team trying to get out of the championship but he's not the answer for us. You on the wind up JC?
