Saw a rumour on sky that a team have come in for bilyaletdinov...... and everton are expected to reject???
Why ? Get rid in my eyes, he's been here 2 season's and apart from 2 or 3 screamer's he's done nothing, he can't play in this league
Everton Banter Archive August 22 2011
Use our rumours form to send us everton transfer rumours.
22 Aug 2011 22:07:21
blue union whoever you are, what makes you think you speak on behalf of evertonians , you have dug up some figures and think you ve uncovered some conspiracy against bk whilst the man is trying to do his very best for efc
I think Blue Union try to proof BK. agree to sell club not only to show BK. want to sell but rejected all offer until financial situation worse and worst.

The fact is, our squad is good enough for a top 10 finish, we've got a chairman who loves Everton and a manager who has proved he's fantastic on his day. Lets get behind the lads, things will get better, lets not get carried away with one bad result. COYB

we need to sell to get the control of our club back. Deadwood, non-performers and even major players need to be shifted in order to generate funds.
We really need to act now while some of the players still have a value and before the bank comes in and makes us into a Leeds, Sheffield Wednesday or Portsmouth.
Here is the list from my original thread:
Out:
Heitinga £8 m.
Bilyaletdinov £6 m.
Arteta £10 m.
Fellaini £25 m.
Rodwell £25 m.
Neville £0.5 m. (he is the symbol of the Moyes era, and is no longer worth anything on the playing field, he has a role as captain and in the dressingroom, but can we really afford for him to take up a place in the starting 11 given his age and ability?)
Yakubu, Yobo and Vaughan will be gone as well, perhaps for a combined fee of £8 m.
Total income: about £80 m.
In:
James MacArthur - Wigan
James McCarthy - Wigan
James Morrisson - WBA
Graeme Dorrans - WBA
Joey Barton - Newcastle
Connor Wickham - Ipswich
Alan King - Leicester
Blood:
Duffy
Baxter
Barkley
Of course Wickham has gone to Sunderland, and maybe Rodwell will only generate around £15 m., and Yobo, Yakubu and Vaughan will probarbly only generate around £6 m. Someone like Lewis Holtby would also be good, and his fee would not be inflated by the English passport and PL experience fees that amount to 50% of some of the transfer fees going around.
But we really need to get control back to the club. Maybe with most of the debt cleared investors would also come.
Vaughan has gone and WICKHAM
Get a grip

What can we expect from our team when the likes of Kenwright and Moyes consistently undermine Everton Football Club with talk of we will be lucky to finish 10th etc. They both have made a career out of mediocrity. Similarly Kenwright uses the services of Keith Harris who goes on record to say that Liverpool is a poor city and Everton are unattractive? So QPR, in the middle of the White City sink estate is a more attractive proposition? We need to get rid of these negative people and get in ambitious individuals.
Good post mate. I've heard an interview today where the captain of the club reckons we're on the verge of success with the group of players we now have. That tends to contradict what the manager has said about being luckty to get in the top half of the table...unless, frighteningly, they both mean one and the same thing
Just mismanagement in my opinion given the fact we have a manager and a team that literally outgrew the infrastructure. I don't think any vibes are given out seeing as we don't ever see enough of these people to assess their relative merits and so are forced to secretly record our chairman in order to understand the stagnant air that surrounds Everton. The lack of clarity has led to a toxic atmosphere where the fans are baying for blood because they get feck all else from these people
22 Aug 2011 21:12:00
When we signed Heitinga was it not on a '£6m rising to £7m' deal....
When are due to pay out another £1m? We seem to be spending a lot of money on not a great deal at the moment, how can a club which is so skint be so careless with funds. We also look like losing a lot of money on Bily in the not to distant future. {Ed025's Note - whats new!..
He's one of our top earners frustratingly too.
Sell him and buy Chris Samba ffs.
22 Aug 2011 20:54:04
I really don't get why Moyes has fallen out with Yobo. We'd have the option of playing Distin at lb and pushing Baines into wide midfield. Yobo and Jags had a fairly decent understanding in the past. {Ed025's Note - he said he wanted a move to a bigger club?...like fenerbahce ....id get shot of him aswell..
He fell out with him (allegedly) because he wouldn't kit up for the Benfica match (which indirectly led to Coleman getting done by Portuguese/Brazilian skill wizards and me kicking many Lisbon cats) and then sodded off to Nigeria. But I imagine the loan suited both of them - Moyes, understandably given Distin, Jagielka and Heitinga, wasn't going to play him apart from a severe injury crisis and Yobo could get first team matches in Turkey.
Distin is not a LB, I wouldnt welcome yobo back to the 1st team, simply because of what ed said
22 Aug 2011 20:44:58
Just hope it is a positive performance on wednesday. Just want to see more desire and a better performance.
So is Bily suspended for this? I'd like to see Barkley playing in the Bergkamp role behind Beckford. Wide positions going to be a problem but I'm sure Moyes can work something out. Be nice to see some youngsters get a chance. {Ed025's Note - there is a lot of pressure on ross, i just hope the supporters are forgiving, if he has a loss of form..
Howard
Distin
Neville Fellaini Arteta Baines
Barkley
Anichebe Saha Vellios Beckford
Sheffield Utd will sh*t themselves if we line up like that
Quality

Play the kids on wednesday night. Forshaw right wing would do with Baxter, Vellios and Mustafi getting a chance would do me {Ed025's Note - and me..
Looks like Mustafi and McAleny might end up being in the squad since they aren't being played (at least from the start) today. Maybe Bidwell too? Reserves lost 2-0 to Fulham at Finch Farm (with Velios and Yakubu up front, Baxter and Wallace in midfield and Yobo and Duffy in defence).
Are you mad, play all the kids, we are not one of those ''oh its a mickey mouse cup'' teams, we have just lost at home to qpr and we need a boost, fast we need to play our strongest team and give shef united a propper beating, why would you wanna play all the kids when theres a chance we could get eliminated and if that happend you would be on moysies case again saying he picked the wrong squad {Ed025's Note - i see your point...but we cant afford to try the youngsters in league games!..so when do we play them?...answers on a postcard..
Id normally agree mate, but i think this is a big game, we are getting a lot of negativity at the minute with our joke finacial situation, poor performance on saturday, so a strong team and a win on wednesday will lift the fans and the player's for blackburn.
I see the team being this;
Howard
neville
Jagielka
Distin
Baines
Barkley
Fellaini
Osman
Arteta
Saha
Beckford
In reality, surely a halfway between the two would make more sense. After a similarly poor start last season, we played a pretty strong side and drilled Huddersfield 5-1, then continued to struggle for a number of weeks afterwards. It doesn't necessarily follow that if we go full strength and win easily we'll get a boost from it in the league. It also doesn't necessarily follow that if we were to go full strength we would win easily.
On the flip side, if we did send all the kids & reserves out, and they were to lose, there would be no benefit to the confidence of any fan, player or coach.
In my opinion, it would make sense to give a couple of the younger players an opportunity alongside a backbone of more established 1st team players - for example those who need the game time, e.g. Arteta/Fellaini. We could field a decent team whilst still giving 2-3 fresh faces a chance.
Just an opinion obviously...
22 Aug 2011 20:27:48
Vellios played the full ninety minutes in the reserves today so unlikely he'll play any part on Wednesday - I may be wrong though. {Ed025's Note - your not
The other week don't forget Barkley played for an hour at Oxford United then at Brum the next day {Ed025's Note - friendlies are different..
What a tremendous failure Yakubu is. Annoys me that he's in our reserves on £50k a week. {Ed025's Note - dont even ger me started..
I noticed Yak and Yobo are in the reserves again... Yakubu should be in the first team squad. {Ed025's Note - firing suqad for me..
22 Aug 2011 20:25:29
Anybody for bentley on loan ?
Could do a good job for us our play is all a bit left wing v qpr Think he can cross a good ball just an idea ( on loan ) {Ed025's Note - wages would be the problem..
He didn't exactly light Birmingham up last season did he? Also I think there must be a reason why nobody wants to touch him.
Bentley is one of them player's that does something nice for 5 minutes then does nothing for 20 minutes.
Not a "everton type player" and i couldn't see moyes even thinking of bringing him here, he's what you call a luxury player.
22 Aug 2011 20:01:38
I have been thinking about it, and to be honest, it has got to be time to shuffle the squad. People may not agree but the way I look at it is, if we sell the likes of Arteta and Jagielka who are close to 30 and sell on value decreasing by the game now, then we keep a Ross Barkley in the future, and potential other stars we generate in the future. As for BK, I do feel sorry for him, he wants to sell, saw him against QPR late on and his face was distraught, he wants to sell, but to sell he needs a buyer and there are none forthcoming. {Ed025's Note - dont feel sorry for him...he does,nt want a buyer..he wants an investor...someone to put money in, with him remaining as chairman!...as for the shuffle...im slowly coming around to it..
22 Aug 2011 20:12:14
I'm hearing there's been either a loan bid or a permanent bid by a Russian club to take Bilyaletdinov back home. That's all I know right now but makes sense as he's completely useless in our current set-up.
I'd definetly sell him if we could get close to what we paid for him.
We didn't pay alot for him (Within the region of £4m - £8m) anyways, if we get £6m for him then i'll be happy.
I hope this is true, permanent deal tho please. He's just not cut out for prem league wether he plays wide, central or in goal. I reckon going back to Russia should net us about 7.5M for him. So let's take the wonga and move on {Ed025's Note - if its a loan deal...i would say no
We paid 10m for Bily. {Ed025's Note - might as well have thrown it down a grid
22 Aug 2011 04:40:10
Being a Blue from Ireland I watched the game yesterday on Setanta Ireland yes we still have 2 Setanta stations over here. Anyways Moyes gave an interview before the game were he said he expects to bring in at least 2 players before the window closes. But he also said they wont come in before the Blackburn game. That means he is planning to do business on the last day or two of the window being open. Fact. Lets hope he pulls a nice couple players out of the hat. Suspect both will be loan deals. COYB.
Interesting. I saw an interview with Moyes AFTER the game where he said he didn't expect to do any business. {Ed025's Note - my gut instinct, is that we will..
I live in ireland, i didn't see that interview ??
22 Aug 2011 20:06:52
Sky Sports reporting that we are tracking Liam Ridgewell to replace Jagielka if he leaves. Celtic also interested.
Good player and (obviously) he can cover LB.
Can only see it happening if we lost Jagielka, which I don't think we will. I would prefer Shawcross or Otamendi, not Ridgewell
I wouldnt mind Ridgewell at all. Solid pro and can cover two positions. Depends on price and what we have to give up to get him I guess.
Onuoha would be a good shout too. Ridgwell would probably be much cheaper though.
If we can command £15m for Jagielka and bring in Ridgewell for £5m or under, that's quite simply good business. No arguments from me. {Ed025's Note - the way its looking someone will have to go...and we would get top dollar for jags
He's only just turned 27, he's well over 6ft, he knows where the goal is, he can play left back as well as centreback and he was part of a Birmingham defence that kept a club record number of clean sheets, so there are plenty of reasons to go for him. I'd prefer to lose Distin rather than Jags though, if possible. {Ed025's Note - problem with that is...we wont get any dosh for him
22 Aug 2011 17:17:55
Everton to sign Pascal Chimbonda as cover for Baines, he is a Right back but is versatile and can play all along the back line
22 Aug 2011 17:30:00
Tamir Cohen > Everton = Free Transfer
John Heitinga < Everton = Swap w/ seim de jong, plus Eriksen on loan for 2 seasons
Zoltan Gera > Everton = Free Transfer
-----------------------
free agents are in talks with moyes now, de jong may not happen now, but eriksen will, he has also been in talks with everton officials, no face to face contact from moyes as eriksen is refusing to travel to england in the fear of rejection because of his high wage demands... watch this space
Zoltan gera has only just signed back for West Brom hasn't he? {Ed025's Note - yes..
22 Aug 2011 15:29:15
Phil neville " if i didnt think this club was going forward i wouldnt of signed a 2 year extention" maybe he knows something?
22 Aug 2011 14:43:44
not a rumour but i'd like to know why evertons transfers/loan signins take so long, even in previous sesons they always take ages to coplete.
we heard last week that fee agreed and yobo talks resumed yet still not sold
whats going on with our negotiators.
By leaving it to the last minute they save on wages no other reason as I see it.
22 Aug 2011 12:54:38
Team that I believe should play next saturday
Howard
Neville, Jags, Distin, Baines
Fellaini
Osman Arteta Barkley
Saha Beckford
Bench: Mucha, Hibbert, Heitinga, Cahill, Rodwell, Yakubu, Anichibe
That does look better, but would rodwell make a better defensive midfielder than osman?
I'd play arteta on wing, fellaini attacking midfielder, with barkely on other wing
rodwell defensive midfield but not too defensive
Good team mate 442 one up top isn't working
22 Aug 2011 10:40:12
ps - I sit behind the goal in park end - and quite a few times you see the guy in centre midfield inside thier half near centre circle and he's always looking sideways for a pass - but quite often you can see a massive gap on the edge of the area that the centre forward could run into and exploit if the centre mid passed the ball into it - there would be a chance to shoot on goal - but the centre mid - never lokos for that pass - even though it's crying out to be played
Get them working on it in training moyes
22 Aug 2011 10:37:28
If I have to watch players like Cahill standing 5-10 yards away from a 50-50 ball dropping from the air near the half way line and not bothering to go and fight for it I'll eat my fkng season ticket He and several others are completely lazy bstds.
Some of the 'ball skills' on some of our guys are shocking. Earning like 20-50 grand a week and can't trap or control or pass a ball properly
Jagielka - normally solid but what on earth was that panicky 'clearance' when none of the opposition were within 5 yards of him? Straight to the opposition guy 10 yards away You don't see many other premiership players doing that kind of thing - it's just embarrassing.
Rodwell was in on goal inside the box with just the keeper to beat from 10 or so yards and he just passed it softly, chest height straight to the keeper with his sidefoot Fking lash it with your laces next time, you nbhead Can he not actually do anything with the ball other than pass it sidefooted? Shocking.
Playing ultra defensive Heitinger against a team like QPR means you're going to have nothing going forwards - especially if anonymous Osman is his CM partner.
Ross Barkley was pretty good, some good sprayed passes and a confident approach, but he had two shots from around the box that missed the goal by about 20 yards. I'm not being funny but you don't see that much from other teams. It was his first game though so he did pretty well otherwise.
Beckford looks like he aint bothered if we win or lose - with his 'playing for fun' fancy flicks that don't come off.
Neville may be our captina but his delivery into the box on several occassions was poor - hibbo is much better crosser. On that performance Nev's days may be numbered.
Overall I think we need to sack the coach.
It's pretty obvious there's no work on the training ground aimed at pass and move and getting the players not on the ball to move into space to make themselves available to receive the ball. Everyone is static and standing behind opposition players, so that whoever has the ball has no one to pass it to most of the time. Shockingly bad.
Fellaini looked good and and Arteta not bad when they came on. If they start and we get a decent winger in, then we can do something, but the workrate and movement needs to go up 100%.
Get a coach in who can teach the players to pass and move FFS.
22 Aug 2011 08:57:56
Having suffered on Saturday and watched the faces of BK and DM do u think that BK will be knocking on the door of the bank this morning with a stocking over his head and a gun to try and get some much needed cash.
DM has said 10 th is our destiny and when we are beaten at home by a very, very ordinary team then fresh blood and a shake up is what we need.
Im now going to rag our couch to see if I can find any money down the back of it for BK.
Its going to b a long hard season blues..but we knew that anyway. COYB
22 Aug 2011 07:42:45
Notice how ALOT of fans are keeping Cahill out if their starting XI and going 2 up top, I agree. Cahill isn't good enough for a 442 formation, he's not a CM nor a ST, I think we could get some better use out of him by bringing him on as an impact player.
GP
22 Aug 2011 03:05:58
We did miss Coleman on the right on Saturday, his direct running was sorely missed as everyone except Barkley rarely played a forward pass, or even had a dangerous run forward. Also, his attitude, never give up and always chase was sorely needed.
22 Aug 2011 02:36:42
The carling cup is not a priority. So give first teamers a run if they need fitness/sharpness and blend in a few of the reserves. Time to be brave and blood a few, they play for Everton, lets see how good we think our academy really is. {Ed025's Note - i echo that..

Player Ratings for QPR game
Howard 6 Had very little to do other than pick the ball out his net.
Baines 6 Very ineffective didn`t get forward nearly enough was unlucky to be denied by the crossbar
Jagielka 5 Gave the ball away for the goal but didn`t do too badly otherwise
Distin 7 Run of the mill defending. Blocking, tackling all what you would expect from him. Showed some excellent pace to shore up the defence in the closing stages
Neville 5 His final ball into the box was an embarrassment and I have lost count the amount of yards of pace Neville has lost since he came to the club.
Rodwell 0 An absolute disgrace. Hopefully he will be sacrificed for new players before the end of the month before he puts in many more performances like this.
Heitinga 6 Solid enough in the midfield some wayward passing let him down though
Barkley 8 Probably our best player says a lot considering he is 17. Some nice passes and bits of creativity.
Osman 7 You know what you`re getting from Osman he never stopped trying and showed some neat touches
Cahill 7 Should have scored twice hopefully he will be back to some degree of scoring form soon as I honestly can`t see where else our goals are coming from
Beckford 6 Worked very hard and came very close to connecting with a couple of half chances
Arteta 5 Had next to no impact on the left when played with Baines they looked like strangers half the time
Fellaini 6 Won a couple of headers that was about it really
Saha 1 The less said about this waste of space the better
Manager Rating 3 Strange line up, tactics and substitutions bad day in the office
I would have given a fellaini a higher score, but the rest are about right
We need to make changes on wednesday and give velios a run out, the players were under par on saturday, but lets not panic its one game, we need to put it right this week
Sorry but Osman, Neville, and Beckford were shocking all 3 constantly giving the ball away. Then when Fellaini and Saha then caught the bug of giving the ball away but would not be as harsh on them as they are clearly not match fit.
Really stupid ratings. For a start, we were s**t, so giving out 6s and 7s to players that embarrassed the club is stupid. Plus, you then give a 0 to Rodwell and a 1 to Saha. How the hell does Nevill - the worst player on the pitch - deserve a 5, then? And to give Ossie a 7 is a joke.
Next time, make your grades on what happened, not on which players you like and don't like
Osman was absolute crap 2 max. Neville 3, jags was at fault for goal 4. Rodwell hardly got any service and was played out of position so 3. Distin Baines and Barkley [MoM] only worth their pay
22 Aug 2011 02:40:05
Id like to see against Sheff U
Howard
Hibbert - Heitinga - Distin - Baines
Neville
Arteta - Fellaini - Barkley
Saha - Vellios
Get Arteta and Fellaini some match fitness, get Barkley more confident. Drop Jagielka and Cahill as they are important players - but also they had poor performances against QPR. Play Saha to add some skill to the game, and maybe get some crosses into Vellios
Howard
neville jagielka distin baines
barkley fellaini arteta
osman
saha beckford
This would be my team for wednesday
I'd go with that team, fellaini and barkley were the two best players on saturday and i think we should give velios a run out. COYB
22 Aug 2011 01:54:29
It has been clear for a few years we have to sell players to finance incoming transfers, meaning the financial cupboard has been bare for a long time. Just about every club operates on an overdraft facility, and banks over the last 3-4 years have become a lot less tolerant about these debts (certain clubs, anyway). They are now wanting security against loans or debts, and our club's way of doing it has been to use expected future income (e.g. season ticket income) as collateral. Not particularly recommended to put it mildly, but it keeps the wolf from the door. And in any situation where a company's debt is starting to become unmanageable, or the banks lose patience, it has to sell off its prime assets - buildings, land, etc. In our case it is players, and also land. The one thing that did shock me (if it is true) is that we sold our training ground for 8m only to lease it back at 1.1m a year over a very long term, meaning we pay a lot more than we sold it for. We don't have the revenue generating power of many other clubs because we are not as big a "brand" as some others, don't have the same lucrative merchandising operation, don't have the same pulling power when it comes to shirt and other sponsorship deals, and crucially, we have an old small stadium which reduces the match day revenue stream, and no new stadium on the horizon. I think all of that explains why we can't get a buyer, along with the fact the city of Liverpool has 2 teams. Still, after all that, I still can't figure out why clubs like Blackburn and QPR have got sugar daddies and we haven't. Maybe there has been some proper interest but something in the books has scared them away, or maybe it is BK's alleged insistence on him remaining chairman after a takeover.
22 Aug 2011 01:18:42
£26m - cost of the starting XI vs QPR
Howard - 3m
Baines - 6m
Jags - 4m
Distin - 5m
Hibbert - 0m
Heitinga - 6m
Cahill - 2m
Rodwell - 0m
Osman - 0m
Barkley - 0m
Beckford 0m
that shows how moyes has worked on a tight budget. He is a great manager and he will get things right this season. COYB
How great is that. 26mill total for a premier league lineup. Isn't that what it should be like? Ok, you'll probably not win the prem with it, but I think it is something to be proud of, to be honest.
If the academy hadn't missed/released Baines and Jagielka early on, then the total would have been only 16m.
All being well a few more of the youngsters will appear this year to further decrease the overall cost of the squad. :)
What are they worth now --just a guess ?
Howard - 3m / 6mil
Baines - 6m / 20mil
Jags - 4m / 18mil
Distin - 5m / 500k
Neville - 3.5m -- 500k
Heitinga - 6m -- 4mil
Cahill - 2m - 2mil
Rodwell - 0m -- 15mil
Osman - 0m -- 5mil
Barkley - 0m -- 15mil
Beckford 0m -- 5mil
Fantastic business by Moyes --BUT why has he not built a 2nd team....+that team above should be beating QPR.
Think its a bit harsh to be rating distin at 500k. he was 1 of are best players last season. maybe worth a few million bu notin less than that
Most of the 0m boys are products of our youth ranks so we have invested a lot of time and money getting these players ready for the premiership.
When did Hibbert sneak on the pitch?
22 Aug 2011 00:59:53
It will come to late to deal in this window, but an approach has been made for the club. It's very preliminary, no details have been discussed, yet, but it doe's seem genuine. Bill, if you really are an Evertonion, for god's sake make a deal. No one want's to see you go broke, but, if you break even, make a sale and leave with our best wishes.
22 Aug 2011 00:54:59
With what we've got right now I'd like us to go with either of these on wednesday
Howard
Neville Jagielka Distin Baines
Fellaini Rodwell
Barkley Arteta Osman
Saha
or
Howard
Neville Jagielka Distin Baines
Barkley Fellaini Arteta Osman
Beckford Saha
But both of those formations require Cahill to be dropped so I'd say it's unlikely. Although it is a cup game so who knows.
4-4-2 would be great and for us to go all out and get some goals to boost the confidence before the blackburn game, it is never easy in these matches but i think we will be okay on wednesday
22 Aug 2011 00:50:01
howard
neville jagielka distin baines
barkley fellaini arteta
osman
saha beckford
This would be my line up for wednesday
Hmmmm would you go that strong?
Not sure I would.
Defo Vellios time for me.
I see us going out ( which is all we need right now) id giv barkley a rest ( yeah i only its only the second game but man do we need his freshness and zest for the prem) and play rodwell in the middle ( he cant fook this one up ...right ??)
and to really the break the DM mould what about ( wait for it ....) playing 2 up front at HOME ( HOW CRAZY IS THAT ....) and one of them been beckford in a more advanced role that a lot of people think the boy is the dogs bollox
I am going for a repeat of the last time we played these at Goodison 2-0 to us,im sure that day if i remember right that Johnson was Brought down for a pen that made Warnock go mental at the time and he to this day is still mental
Actually not a bad shout that. I might swap Saha for Vellios then, to give Vell a chance and limit the chance of Saha's knees exploding. You don't want to weaken your team too much though. This is our best chance at silverware.
22 Aug 2011 00:31:42
Come on lads lets get behind the team on wednesday, lets show the players great support. Hopefully we will just get the job done, COYB
22 Aug 2011 00:27:31
Talking to a good mate of mine who's been a fan of Citeh for many years, he says that other than the obvious Man U games this season, their next biggest games will be vs Everton and they're already eyeing 24th September.
The thinking from them is that if they can finally do us good and proper, it really will mean they're ready to start thinking seriously about winning stuff.
In a depressing time for us, it's quite comforting to know that we're still getting under the skin of the Moss Side chavsters (at least until the 24th September)...
