Appreciate he's no longer an Everton player but has Rooney beginning to transform into the next pirlo? I have to say based upon the last few games I've seen him play. he seems to have transformed. All of people debate about whether he'll play for Everton again. i'm undecided but I could think of worse players to have sitting in middle of park.

not the next pirlo, but i can see him adapting to that midfield role pretty well, would love to see him in a blue shirt again.

Think he'll be at Utd next season. He's only 3 or 4 off breaking Bobby's goal record. Surely he'd get that next season. Can't see him leaving this summer.

In the exchange of rumours, banter and comments between posters and Eds about how transfers are actually carried out, the importance of Kevin Reeves (Chief Scout) in the ongoing scouting, recruitment and transfer mechanics at Everton was stated.
Elsewhere, other sources have asserted that Kevin Reeves has left the club - along with several other people brought in by Roberto Martinez from Wigan Athletic.
It's clear that the likes of Jones and Lawrence have gone. However, I am confused (cue ridicule from the Eds! ) about what the truth really is about Kevin Reeves.
So, please may I test the patience of the Eds and ask them to indulge me by stating definitively if Kevin Reeves is or isn't still at Everton?
Thank you.

{Ed002's Note - I was not aware he had gone. We knew there were changes coming on the scouting front so they will be looking to recruit a new head scout.}

Ed002: thanks, as always, for your reply. I appreciate your insights and look forward to reading your comments on the changes happening at Everton.

He was responsible for the Niasse purchase. For that alone he needs to go, preferably to solitary confinement.

Been very impressed last few games with Rooney in his new midfield role. I think him and Ross together could be boss in our midfield next season. can't see it happening though with Jose now joining the Mancs.

Widely reported but using the normal wording of "according to sources" so it may be true or not. I will not believe anything until it is officially announced.

If true then that deal was done months ago and I don't believe even if utd got in champions league there is no way mourinho would of waited around to see if they wanted him or not.

He is going to utd but as for sources. Last week SSN broadcast cast it that he was going to be announced as manager within hours. On Saturday it was immediately after the match then after the game it was next week.

It's best to sit back and let things happen. All of the rumours that come out most on here could guess at and be just as wrong/ right as these reporters.

. I see Rom has been spouting his mouth off again about "his mind being made up". I suggest that his mind was made up 10 games ago judging by his performances. to be honest, like mist Everton fans I guess I'm looking forward to see his replacement who I hope will be young Vincent Janssen who has a fantastic commitment to the game, is a full blown international already, can hold the ball up, dribble, great team player, strong in the air and scores his fair share of goals - pretty much everything that Rom isn't really other than the goal scoring side. I've been sick of this guys ego from day 1 and he can get out of our club tomorrow as far as I'm concerned as there better replacements out there ready to take his place. Everton needs to become a team again, not a bunch of individualistic knob heads governed by their daddies and their scumbag agents!

Solo totally agree, funny how he is on international duty every time he mouths off. Everton have him till 2019. Let's get a striker in and put him on bench, his first touch is terrible and can't control the ball. So before he mouths off get himself sorted first.
I think fdb in the next week maybe 2 weeks
How's things everyone.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 May 2016 08:19:30
I have never taken to Rom. With players like him mouthing off on international duty it hinders our team unity and adds fuel to the lack of chemistry theory Baines talked about.

If in our hours of need under Martinez he would have come out and said "this is my club and these are my team mates and I will give everything for them" then we may have seen a different team. Instead moaning and making comments like he did only added to the frustration.

Get him out!

I love Romelu Lukaku. I remember jumping around at midnight when it was announced we'd signed him on loan. I was an unemployed student the Summer we signed him permanently, and all I did during that time was check my phone to see any developments. Elated when we signed him. Best striker I've ever seen pull on an Everton shirt.

I've given him the benefit of the doubt when he's commented previously, the guy's frustrated, as was everyone. But his recent comments however, seem to be passing the blame on to the rest of the players, and I don't see how that can be justified, and how he's made "his" decision as to his future. Shame, the lad's special, but his head's been filled with dillusions of grandeur.

{Ed025's Note - hes a very good player hugo but he needs to grow some balls mate, he is being bullied by an overbearing father and a blood sucking agent in raiola who have more to say than what the cat licks its arse with!...if you want to go rom then go..but grow a set mate and let it be your decision..

21 May 2016 19:29:17
Think its down to those 2, mate? Definitely seem to have an agenda when it comes to his career! Anything your end in regards to his departure?

{Ed025's Note - nothing set in stone hugo but i would be very surprised if he was still with us next season mate..

Watching Fellaini you realise what a good player he is and tempted to wonder why Everton let him go. But then you realise what a good bit of business it was because under Martinez he just would not have seen anything of the ball.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

21 May 2016 20:44:40
we never let him go he wanted to go and good riddance aswell because his attitude stunk the place out near the end. rememeber when he turned his back on the play against wigan in the cup and had a hissy fit. UNFORGIVABLE.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 May 2016 00:11:48
Bit harsh that paul, throughout his time with us he did more good than bad. When he did leave, I'm sure he gave up a bonus worth millions that was in his contract with us. More than you can say for Arteta who messed us about in his final years. Held us to ransom over his new contract, knocked Arsenal back tea-time deadline day, only to ask to speak to them again at the 11th hour leaving us with little time to replace him. To top it off he agreed to less wages with the gunners! MF was at least honest with us about wanting to leave.

Hi all, we have an outstanding amount of young players 23 or under who already in the squad or competing to get in to it. Lukaku and Stones most likely to leave 100m thanks very much. Besic, Garbutt, Galloway, Connolly, Pennington, Holgate, Davis, Williams, Ledson, Dowell, Tarashaj, Deulofeu and JJ Kenny most of these players all have a chance to have long Everton careers if the correct manager can bring the young players on. Suspect Rodriquez, Grant and McIeny to leave. There are a number of players making real progress in the under 18's also so the future looks really bright ( where's me sun glasses ) . Just need the right manager and soon so he can get the players in he requires.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

21 May 2016 17:49:02
So Lukaku has decided on where he will play next? Sorry but as the club who hold his contract don't we have a say in this. Sell him to who offers the most, not on where he would like to go. Otherwise keep him to his contract and don't sell him. Players just take the piss now.

{Ed025's Note - your right there woburn..

21 May 2016 19:06:10
just another greedy football mercenary who has got a mouth bigger than the mersey (along with his arl fella) who has again showed a total lack of respect to Everton football club, his team mates, and the fans who pay good money to watch him and buy the merchandise with his name upon it. It was him who should of been made to apologise ( and not Baines) for disrespecting the club the first time he opened his trap. I agree without his goals this season we probably could of gone down. But for someone who downed tools on march 12th (his last goals for the club) to try and tell us he tried his best towards the end of the season needs to have a serious word with himself and have a long look in the mirror. If that's your best pal i would hate to see your worst, and if some club does come in for you for the reported 65 million i would snatch there arm out of its socket pack your bags for you and say good riddance to a bad apple who keeps biting the hand that's been feeding him.

I think it's time to say to Lukaku and maybe Stones you show your love to Everton or you can go. After watching Davis, Dowell and Pennington it brought back what EVERY Everton player should be doing. Lukaku has scored many goals but missed a lot as well, Stones has made so many mistakes that now if he stays brilliant but if he goes we will grow and get stronger. It's there loss!

We need to appoint our manager soon as it's going to be a big summer with the euros getting in the way of the important stuff of Everton.

Don't believe the rumours about this Russian guy buying into Everton he has his heart set ongetting control of Arsenal. We have a new invester now not short of a bob or two we are in the best position we have ever been in. Morishi has his plans for EFC and i believe he will deliver them in time so he is enough for me. The future is bright for Everton.

Well Stan Kroenke is the majority shareholder at Arsenal with over 60% and Usmanov has 30% through Red and White holdings. They don't get on together, have different views on how Arsenal should be run. However Kroenke does not want to relinquish power. Usmanov has said that he is in it for the long haul and wants future generations of his family to benefit. However both have big ego's so anything could happen. For Usmanov to buy into Everton he firstly has to sell his Arsenal shares, you are talking about big money here. Maybe Kroenke would buy them to get rid of his main rival. At Everton Moshiri would have to agree to Usmanov coming in, I know that they are big business partners but would Moshiri like to play second fiddle again? Can't see it happening but it is a possibility. It would make Everton a power house and a new stadium would be a certainty.

Although I agree in principal GB - an earlier appointment could send out a signal of intent to any of the lads who are thinking of jumping ship. if we leave it til the Euros have begun it could get messy. Let's hope they know what they are doing!

Agree0 Disagree0

21 May 2016 12:00:46
It is precisely this badgering and impatience that got us landed with Martinez. Let them take their time, it isn't even the end of May yet for Gods sake, that also means that potential Managers are still under contract in many cases until 1st July. There is an awful lot going on behind the scenes at Everton and I mean an awful lot.

Agree1 Disagree0

21 May 2016 12:07:09
An early appointment might send "a signal of intent", but probably only to those impatient fans who think these sort of decisions are simple to reach and that the negotiations involved are not complex. To many others, a quick decision would appear to be a knee jerk, panic move by the club and an example of a lack of thoroughness and professionalism. I know which one I prefer. The same goes for any stadium move as it does for recruitment of a manager, other staff and players.
