I think Davey is very close to winning a trophy this season he's due one!

Yeah - the league cup I reckon

No chance. He had his chance in the league cup this season, and blew it. We won't win the FA cup either, as he bottles it in the big games.

Yes Mike you're correct. I mean the semi-final against Utd in '09 was just another game wasn't it?
Jesus Mike. If I hadn't been on this site for as long as I have then I'd swear you're a kopite.
OK, you're entitled to your view, however there's never a positive that comes out of anything we do, well that's what 99.9% of you're posts are about. Or maybe 100%.
We could win the league and you'd say: 'Moyes should know better. He should have won the league earlier when we drew against (insert team here). And for that reason I'm not celebrating as it was a final day fluke.
Keith EFC. {Ed025's Note - he would put years on you keith..

You are right Keith, he won the semi, but we then went onto lose the final. Last season Liverpool were there for the taking, we go 1-0 up, Moyes bottles it, goes defensive and we lose 2-1. That is all he has achieved in 11 years.
Mike {Ed025's Note - and what about keeping a club without much money, in the shake up for a possible european place?..does that count as nothing, you really are the most miserable git ever to walk gods earth mike!..

all the people at the beginning of the season slagging off hibbert and now on here crying for him back. i stood by hibbert as i have always said he is as solid a right back as any and also towards the end of last season had an assist or 2 (2 at old trafford spring to mind). i also said stick with coleman. unfortunately i am eating my words now as i can take the odd mistake but his stupidness on saturday has me now calling for him to be dropped or pushed up to rm. his tackle was a stupid nothing tackle. another concern is how poor pienaar has been and the woeful finishing of late by jelavic. in my opinion the reason for this is that they have no competition. pienaar's competition is gueye who is terrible and jelavic's is anichebe or vellios who ain't a threat. however i feel the defeat to reading could be a wake up call and kick the lads into playing well and finishing again. if we have no money in jan we desperately need a stirker on loan in jan to give jelly compeition and cover at cm. let's remember that we weren't expecting too much this season and to be 5th already is a good start and hopefully we can progress from here to at least europa football if not 4th place. let's remain optimistic and stay behind the lads on saturday vs norwich, and every game after that!! coyb!!!

To put it in perspective the Hammer has had a bad injury. Been let go which knocks his confidence. Falls away from match fitness. I would not have expected a performance as good as that one on the weekend.
But then we need to be reminded he is an experienced German international.
I for one am really excited about what getting can do for our team this season and hopefully a few more.

I noticed another poster suggesting we play 3 cb and using wing backs, I have said this for years since we had lescott yobo jags at cb. I remember asking Graeme Sharp his opinion on it and he thought we didn't have the full backs to do it and also that teams are tacticly aware now and would find the space in the channels. I believe we now have the the perfect full/wing backs in Baines & Coleman I think we all know Coleman is good going forward and still learning the defensive side so this would give him the freedom and not be as exposed. We have 3 excellent centre backs. What do people think about the modern game can 3-5-2 or 3-5-1-1 be successful. I remember spurs playing against us with this formation and Liverpool also.

He's not going to do anything that drastic just to fit Coleman into the side when, in all likelihood, Hibbo's not too far away

Dont see the point of playing a third centre back. These days most teams play 1 striker so 3 marking 1 man is daft. The idea of the holding midfielder is to fill in when the full backs push on which Gibbo does perfectly

Doesn't your suggested team have 12 players?

I have been waiting for someone to comment on this I meant fellaini one of the three, WonHungLo you must be a school teacher, I think we would definitely finish top 4 if we played 3-6-1-1 lol
