There's a lot of positive posts on here compared to this time last year. It's all down to having a good striker. We havent had a striker of this class in such a long time and therefor have never been this positive going into the summer.

He's better than the Yak in his first season. More clinical than AJ, more consistent than Saha and even though Big Dunc is every blues legend, the Jelly man looks like he could reach those legendary heights too.

Whether we get Pienarr or not you only have to look at the Sunderland game to see that we can be amazing without him. I would like to see him here though.

So it is with good reason we can be optimistic, and I'm not being delusional when I say that we can expect to compete Mongst the top 5 next season if we can get off to a flyer in August. So here's looking forward to a great summer which will see us keep our best players being as they are all on long contracts and start the season with two maybe three additions - Pienaar Huth and Holt. But if not I will still be smiling. COYB

Toffee ace {Ed025's Note - love it ace..

Believable3 Unbelievable0

I think we are all excited for what is hopefully to come from the Jelly man, also the team is looking very good and with a couple of early additions dare I say possible top four

Degsy {Ed025's Note - a good start is vital degsy, for the past few years, we have always started on the back foot, and spent the rest of the season playing catch up, if we are aiming for top 6...or even top 4, we have to get our business done early...and hit the ground running..

Howard
Hibbert Jags. Heitinga. Baines
Dempsey. Fellaini Donovan. Pienaar
Hooper. Jelavic.
Everton team 2012-13 .... Please

Believable1 Unbelievable2

I follow Celtic as a second team and would love Hooperman to come to us...He's a great player, with him and the Jellyfish up front we could become a force to be reckoned with!

Agree0 Disagree0

Hooper or naismith, who would you prefer ed??

Bez the blue {Ed025's Note - hard one that bez, to be honest, i dont know a great deal about either of them, but i hear that jelly likes naismith...so i will say him..

Agree0 Disagree0

That team will do me son, thats a top 4 finish

FredNSNO {Ed024's Note - I agree fred, with the right signings there are good times ahead for the blues

Wheres Gibson? He brings the best out of Fellaini and is reliable to be there when needed

In my opinion are team next year is:
Howard
Coleman Jags Johnny H Baines
Gibbo Rodders
Pienaar Felliani Fenendes
Jelivic

Sub: Gordon Distin Hibbo Ozzy Barkley Big Vic and Naismith

A good but Cheap side

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Y talk about Fernandez .these type of players r luxury players we don't need .every club they go 2. They end up gting loaned out .no more van der metes ,drenthes ,fernendez s .Everton passed that now

Agree0 Disagree0

Still for me it would be hibbo or neville at RB, atleast in the big games anyway, coleman's defensive side of his game just isn't good enough (I hope he proves me wrong). besides Hibbo has been brilliant this season anyway...

Believable0 Unbelievable4

In my opionion it would be stupid to loan Donovan back in in jan, Surprisingly it costs around 2million or something stupid to loan him in because of insurance (something to do with MLS rules), with not long left on his contract we should just try and buy him right out... Pienaar is a must... and 1 or 2 free's or loans would be good!
Toffeepidge

Agree0 Disagree0

Hoilett-I'd have him but would cost due to being like 21 or something
Kranjcar-Yes, but for less
Rodallega, Diame-Yes
Klasnic-As a bench warmer yes
Owen-No
Donovan-Yes but not for 8m
Holtby-Yes on loan
Pienaar-DEFINITELY YES
Straq-Only on a free
Dempsey-Yes but not for 9m

Great news on Chelski winning the champs league, spurs now not in champs league next season so harry will have to trim down his squad and wages so its looking good on peanuts comming home for good. {Ed025's Note - on the other hand...if the likes of modric and bale leave for CL football, he may look to keep some of his fringe players..

Quite surprised to hear Tim Howard kept 16 clean sheets this season in all competitions! Our defense was solid all season, even when we were poor at the start of the season we didn't concede many.
Correct me if im wrong ed's or fellow blue's but i don't think we got well beaten in any games this season? Even the 1st half of the season we lost a 2 or 3 games 2-0 but most games we lost at the start of the season were 1-0 or 2-1.
The only game that springs to mind to me was Chelsea away which was 3-1 and the derby away 3-0 (albeit we had a shocking team out for that one)
Well done to our defense and Tim Howard

Just to let you know a few good stats here regarding Everton players.
Premier League Fantasy League top 10's

Goalkeepers

Tim Howard came 4th

Defenders

Leighton Baines came 3rd 2 points behind Terry and 12 behind Kompany

Midfielders

Fellaini came 9th

Strikers Obviously none of our strikers came in the top 10 but still good score by Jelavic of 97 points with 135 points being good enough to get you in the top 10 (Dzeko 135 points)

Just to rub it in no Liverpool players were in the top 10 for the goalkepper, defender and Midfielder category's only Suarez who came 6th in the strikers category with 230 points!

Thought some people who like stats and boring stuff like that would appreciate this info.

Hi Eds, I did something I'd never done before this morning I went onto another teams pages.

It was Chelsea's page to say congrats etc.

However can I say it's not as well set up or linked as our pages are!

So well done Eds, apart from the best team and fans we have the best pages as well.

Rest assured I will not stray from home again.

Big C

PS
I've been thinking, a dangerous habit I know, that maybe I might start refering to the RS as Red Russ's Team instead in a spirit of comradeship after all he seems a sensible lad. however I believe he may actually be a closet Blue and just needs to embrace his true self
(calm down tristen) as a blue!
Russ the offer is there come and join us and "Confusion to the RS"

Big C {Ed024's Note - Russ is a good lad, not all kopites are bad!!! You stay over here Big C mate

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I'm good with that Big C. I like Red Russ cos he is a football fan not a dillusional Kopite. So I say RR's team out of respect for him.

After last night im very optimistic about next season. Cant see the pool improving much, last night is a major blow for spurs no champs league money and they will now defo lose players and be weaker. If we can add early we will challenge top 5. Not that i like spurs but i would be disgusting if it were us outta the champs league. {Ed024's Note - Top 6 is one if we get a good start, maybe top 5, if someone can just tell moyes the season starts in august

Believable1 Unbelievable0

There is so much more optimism than this time last year, blues can see we have the makings of a top team

Bez the blue {Ed025's Note - but we must not get complacent bez...we must still try to improve the squad..

Weve been optimistic for the last 2 years, and nothing, we seen qpr first game and thought, yes, we can get off to a good start, and nothing. wait and see if we can bring some additions, then get excited

Are Everton in the Europa League?

On the official Premier League website it says:

English winners of the UEFA Champions League who do not qualify through their domestic position go forward as Winners to the group stage, with the team finishing fourth dropping to the UEFA Europa League. In this case, the national association of the title-holder is entitled to one additional place in the UEFA Europa League.

Does this mean we are in? I thought so but am now very doubtful as there isn't any official news anywhere to say yes. {Ed024's Note - We are definitely not in it, but i think we will be in 12 months time

Believable0 Unbelievable2

I can almost guarantee that if Liverpool would have finished 4th instead of Spurs, they'd have found some obscure UEFA ruling that would have had them playing in the Champion's League. They'd have probably already launched their appeal by now; together with a club video with hundreds of Liverpool supporting celebs whinging on demanding their natural birthright of European Champions League football and how they're being victimised...

I feel sorry for Spurs missing out because of them selfish idiots changing the rules in 2005- now there's a sentence I'd never thought I'd ever write... 'I feel sorry for Spurs'

Agree0 Disagree0

No. I take the "one additional place" to be referring to the team who finished fourth (spurs) and would otherwise be in the final Champions League spot.

PaulEFC

Lol that first comment was so bitter it's unreal... what's it got to do with Liverpool?! ah

right for people who are puzzled about europe. utd, city, arsenal, and chelsea CL spurs drop down to europa league with newcastle and that red team. but its 4 teams so im guessing the last spot goes through the fair play league. even tho chelsea won the fa cup aswell so that spot should go to the team who finished 7th. Its not fair. all we need to do is start the season better then we would qualify for europe. Andy

do we have any chance of getting Manny Fernandes Ed? I always here about him turning us down but wasnt it his agent that made him go to valencia because he was apart of the third party ownership? {Ed025's Note - he was mate...not sure about now...but he would be a good signing..

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Just to clear up, teams in the Champions League are as follows:
Man City
Man Utd
Arsenal
Chelsea

And teams in the Europa League are as follows:
Tottenham
Newcastle
Reds**tes

Shame we won't get in but a good start to the season for once could see us challenge for the top 5.

Keith EFC

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Glad the spurs didn't make the so called 'champions' league.
That should make them have to cut their cloth a bit closer - and hopefully persuade them to get pienaar off their wage bill - they may just have kept him for backup otherwise.

I also do not like copy cat Redknapp - who just buys players he knows Moyes wants cos he knows moyes can spot a player better than he can

Agree0 Disagree0

Fa Cup Winners
Carling Cup Winners
5th and 6th get Europa legue spots,
Chelsea won the fa cup and liverpool won the carling cup so europe will go to us cause tottenham were the other semi finalist and they got europe for 4th? On twitter everyone seams to say they think we got it ' Search in '' Everton Europa '' Not sure if we get it but we can hope something happens

if rodwell and coleman come back from injuries and play the way they did in there first season we can then play 4-4-1-1 Felliani of Jelavic and sign piennar and a back up LM or RM that is a strong team already or as i previously said 4-1-2-1-2 Gibbo CDM felliani CAM and buy a second striker thoughts ed?

toffee haz {Ed025's Note - realistic..and workable kaz..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I would be happy if we only signed Pienaar and someone on a free. Think Rodellaga is on a free? and apparently this Naismith fella is available for 2 mill?

Although some people slate him, Rodwell if he can stay fit and start to influence games instead of playing "safe" can be a great holding midfielder alongside Gibson with Fellaini pushed up with Jelavic where in my opinion he should always play, there is no other player like him, just behind Jelavic, Good in the air, good with his feet, a goal threat, holding it up, linking play with the likes of Osman, Baines and Pienaar and helping Jelavic out. Perfect.

Howard
Hibbert Jagielka Heitinga Baines

Osman Rodwell Gibson Pienaar

Fellaini
Jelavic

SUBS
Mucha?
Neville
Distin
Coleman
Barkley
Cahill
Rodellaga or Naismith?

Great experience on the bench with Neville, Distin and Cahill, with Coleman pace and Barkley who should play more this season and hopefully a new striker for back up to Jelavic.
Also we still have the likes of Duffy, Gueye, Baxter, Anichebe and Vellios in reserve.
Not a bad squad more than capable of getting in top 6 next season {Ed024's Note - I agree, the squad only needs tinkering with and we can do that by spending a similar amount that we did in January

J0hn80y {Ed025's Note - its all too complicated for me johnboy..

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Newcastle qualify for Europa. FA cup place goes to runners up but the RS won the Mickey mouse cup so it goes back to the league.

Hi guys , a dream transfer window for me would involve signing the following players:
1. Steven Pienaar - an absolute MUST
2. Craig Gordon - it would be the first time in a long while that we had 2 reliable keepers , ( if not Craig Gordon then Joe Lewis )
3. Clint Dempsey - hope Tim is calling him a 100 times a day
4. Adam Johnson ( on loan ) obviously could not afford to buy him outright
5. Grant Holt or Steven Naismith - a decent to assist or deputise for an injured jeli

Personally though I think only Pienaar & Naismith have any chance of happening ......COYB ...BLUE4EVER....EVERTONPAUL....BRING ON THE FAT SPANISH WAITER ....

Jc here

Just looked on the dark sides page for a laugh and at tristens comment (class). They are bitter as ever slagging Chelsea off, and Torres. Will they ever change. They need to realise they are no were near the team of the 70s and 80s. But it makes me laugh. They can't even get a manager and they are talking about buying world class players LMFAO. I will love to see the demise of that club after what we went through, but as blues we was there with are team all the way and now were on the up.
