Just feel obliged to say this so here goes

After the sheer class we showed yesterday before the game then more class during the game by keeping a lid on the protests and supporting the team then after the game we showed it again with a fairly dignified good mannered protest that all sit well with me but I have to say seeing the video of our fans ripping Bobby outside the ground after the game sits a bit uncomfortable with me il tell you why whatever my thoughts on his tactics and management he's one of us and it's simple as that I feel for the man when I see shit like that were all fighting for the same cause it's just most of us disagree with him had to get it off my chest because I don't like it as far as I'm concerned them idiots don't represent me yes I want change but not like this and if anyone wants to know why then like I said before because he already knows how we feel and he's one of us.

It's embarrassing sometimes Jay, you can see why the other side call us bitter, worst of all is the way some fans come on here slating our own players consistently, very embarrassing few weeks being a blue and you can tell by not many of the regulars posting as often as they normally do because they are keeping out of it, my last post for a few weeks until these so called fans crawl back into their hole, bye Blues.

Agree4 Disagree2

02 May 2016 09:23:46
Murf we need posters with sensible comments and opinions to prove that not everyone of us are bitter blues. Eventually some will disappear back down there holes, hopefully the club will make a statement of intent and put people in the picture. they don't have to but it would put an end to the small minority who are constantly booing players and the manager. we all want a better team and with the squad we have we should be gelling better, young players need time but wether a new manager to bring the best out of them will be decided probably in the summer.

No one deserves abuse thrown in there face, but unfortunatly its a way of life. Civil service and customer service jobs are prime examples, abuse these people receive although not all the majority are due to frustration on the complainants side.

That's everton at the moment, I in no way condone it, but it's a pot boiling over and before long if something's not done soon the press will get fed up of being on the side of the fans and turn on them using these abusive people as there news, that's my worry.

As for new posters Murf, iv been round for long time, used to post before we all had to make a log in, remember the days when we never knew which degsy we spoke to as we had that many. It's the frustration thing again, everyone wants to vent it. Better to have a wide range in the community than 10-20 all high fiving each other's posts.

I hope you don't stop posting as your insight and views is one of the few I enjoy reading.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 May 2016 09:38:12
Well said Jay I to find this behaviour uncomfortable to watch could be the same morons that abused young Stones at Barnsley!
Unfortunately a few idiots in every club take things to far, however you feel you get the impression Martinez is actually a dead man walking and now it's just the wait to see who actually delivers the killer blow to end it all.

01 May 2016 22:04:14
I would like to mention and remind everyone that Roberto has conducted himself extremely well throughout his career at Everton and has bought into the people's club ethic and he should not be ashamed int the stiff he has done for this club even through the hillsbrouh stuff always been involved and making speeches he is a good man and I am thankful he has been our manager I know it hasn't worked out on the pitch and would hope everyone can give him the respect he deserves. He's attracted some good players to this club we would have them without him and the players need to take 50% of the blame to.

Believable4 Unbelievable6

01 May 2016 22:48:40
He should be conducting himself well, as any normal human being would do.
If he was that nice a guy he would hold his hands up and walk away.
The trouble with him is his stubborness bordering on arrogance.
Was it Einstein who said, insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different result.
He's being doing the same thing for 3 years and his failure to see how defensively poor we are (and not doing anything about it) is criminal in my book.

Sometimes I do feel for him, but then I think about the sheer bullshit he talks after defeats and I realise he is taking the piss out of you, me and every Everton supporter.
The thing that really annoys me is that he actually believes himself that he's a good manager.
I don't know any Wigan supporters but I wonder what they think of him.
Don't forget, this nice guy deserted Wigan after getting them relegated.

Agree5 Disagree2

01 May 2016 23:06:33
He didn't desert wigan. He was approached and interveiwed by everton with a veiw to becoming manager
12 earlier the darkside had also interveiwed him. Do feel its to big a job for him but he has conducted and never bad mouthed are team.

Agree2 Disagree4

01 May 2016 23:48:46
Why should he walk away if he believes he is doing things right?
Because the fans demand it?
Remind me again what managerial qualifications the fans have?
All they have is opinions, but just because they have an opinion doesn't neccessarily mean its right.

Agree5 Disagree1

02 May 2016 00:44:18
Sid: Could you remind us of what management qualifications he has?

Alwaysblue: Yes he did desert Wigan. He stated his reason for leaving was that HE was not the right man to get them promoted back to the premiership.

Frank has it spot on and read back at the Wigan forums and you will see they are and were glad to see the back of him.

I'd have a little more respect if he walked away now but as has already been said many times he is too blinkered.

Also just like a manager in any profession he is expected to conduct himself with dignity. There are lots of nice people in the world, it doesn't mean those nice people are suited to every job. He is getting circa £3m a year to do that job and he is not getting the results expected. In ANY profession in the world he would have been brought to task over a season of very very poor outcomes. He's had two.

He has had enough in salary to retire comfortably for the rest of his life and if/ when he goes he will no doubt have his contract paid up.

And now he wants more time? To do what?

Agree3 Disagree1

02 May 2016 08:04:52
Bluemac and Frank slightly missing the point it seems. These guy aren't necessarily defending Bobby as a being a great manager and yes this season, possibly the one before too, has been disappointing but we are Everton fans and we should support whoever plays or manages this great club. We don't appoint them so why do we have the right to fire them?

Every great manager has struggled (Ferguson, kendal, shankly, even wenger) but given time have turned it around.

only time will tell if Bobby is the right manager, if he can learn to sort the defence out or if he brings someone in to sort defence, or if he is getting replaced.

Us as fans do get frustrated but Bobby, like any other person, does not deserve some if the abuse thrown at him. would you be happy if a hundred people descended in to your workplace screaming they wanted you sacked or calling you a Spanish knob, etc. of course it would cause you stress and upset.

Anyway rant over. wlill repeat, we just need to support the Everton club and brand as we always have, regardless who plays, manages or runs our special great club.

Agree3 Disagree1

02 May 2016 11:57:30
Problem is Geoff that we did support him, but results, football most times and the madness he spouts has caused the lack of trust in him to turn things round. The things us fans can see are blatantly wrong with the system he will not change no matter what. We can all see that and none of us have got football management experience, so we would expect him with over 7 years to see what's wrong infront of him.

So the question is, can he turn things around like other managers have?

To do that you have to look at his past history. Past history tells us NO.

Therefore you have to be proactive or face the consequences.

Ask youself, if, as his history shows, we find ourselves rooted to the bottom of the table next December, would you be happy that you did not take a proactive approach base on the fact he is a nice guy, our manager at this time, and deserved more time?

Remember we are basing this on Martinezs past record and not on other managers that have turned things around. For every fergie, Kendall and Wenger there are 10 pardews, Mclarens and. Martinez's to name a few.

Just a few personal thoughts after ' the season defining week ' are that I'm still not over the Derby and after the semi final reverse I just want the season over.

Everything's overshadowed though with the managerial situation. I can understand the club weighing up all the options and not diving in and replacing RM before the end of the season. However I trust the necessary approaches and discussions are already taking place for an announcement and appointment shortly after the last game.

The last thing I want with such an important window looking is nobody or worse still RM supervising the ins and outs.

I don't think there is any room for sentimentality. Mistakes are still being made. The clubs interest must come first. That's why I wasn't too impressed with the larger than cameo approaches of Hibbert and Howard on Saturday and the recent selection of Besic at RB. It's time for more game time for the youngsters in their right positions.

I read the Carragher / Martinez interview twice and it's just bull. RM, he's deluded. It's his way or no way and his way is the wrong way.

I would thank RM for some of the promising young players that have been signed. That may turn out to be a fair legacy. Other signings though you have got to question.

I know a few posters are feeling a bit sorry for RM. I did feel a bit sorry for myself once when I got finished up with two kids and a newborn to support. The Everton manager though will no doubt get a handsome payoff, take off to an exotic beach and probably pitch for a new job on some Euro 2016 panel, fee and expenses paid. Some Chairman will take the bait.

Whoever the new manager is, and I believe there will be a new manager, he will get my support.

Anyone fancy another Spaniard as manager next season apparenty Sanchez Quique Flores will be sacked at the end of season and not because he hasn't done a good job but because Watford have to sack a manager at least once a season (last bit was a joke. or was it :) ) I think he would provide much more stability at the back but not stifle the forward thinking players. I know he's not the Marquee manager most are calling for but there are good managers to be had elsewhere.

Some of you blues are dead funny. Joachim Lowe is a world cup winning manager, and you don't think he's good enough based on his lack of premier league experience.

He's won a world cup. I'd have him over any of the others we're being mentioned with.

What we've got to appreciate is that next year, everyone will have money to pay bigger wages for players. So there will only be 2 other ways of attracting good players. One being Europe (which we don't have) , and the other being the Manager.

For example if you look at Chelsea, the fact that they've bought a manager like Conte in, ensure's that they'll be able to bring in very good Italian/ Italian league players because of his reputation (and just other players in general) .

Now I'm not saying that we'd get Goetze and Ozil if we bought Lowe in, but he'd be a much more attractive coach to work with for most players, rather than someone like Howe or Warbuton (God help us) .

Just my feeling towards its. Ofcourse, even if we stick with Roberto (i hope not) , I sure hope we can get behind the Team regardless.

Not posted here in a long long while hence the new account similar name though anyways. I just felt it was time to have my say on the manager situation I pretty much feel the same as most blues not good enough and I feel it's time for change

I have my own theory on reasons it's not working I believe we're missing two vital ingredients that make our club what it is tempo and passion

I think Bobby has curbed the players passion which in turn is affecting the tempo of our play at Goodison we like to watch our team throwing tackles in left right and centre and we like to see as persistent attacking as possible now I believe at times are tempo and passion can be seen but only in fits and starts and nowhere near as much as we'd like to see now if Bobby hadn't curbed the passion we need would we be persistent with the attacking tempo my answer to that is probably not the reason for this is our players don't seem fit enough so the only way forward is a new boss

One more thing I think bill and his new best mate done the decent thing by allowing Bobby to stay in charge for the fa cup semi seem as though it was him who got us there and Bill seems a fair and decent fella to me which leads me to believe that there only doing the honourable thing and letting Bobby see out the season that to me would be the gentlemanly thing to do and bill as we know is a gent so I'm happy to sit tight (for now)

Givern the performance of martinez's 13.5 mill perchase, if you where going to put up 150-200 mill into team building, would you let this man spend it?

Believable3 Unbelievable1

01 May 2016 19:26:54
The way he has spent money is not the real issue, he's had a couple of dodgy signings but, by and large, he has bought well. I wouldn't have too much of a problem with him spending it but he doesn't seem too good at fitting them in to his system. Bit harsh on Niasse, at least give him time to see if he's any good or not. Put it into perspective, he has played a few more minutes this season than Tony Hibbert.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 May 2016 21:45:45
So, would you sell Naysmith, who could always come up with a goal, plus gets everybody going, he goes for 7 m, then spend 13.5 on a player, that, even if is any good, is so unfit he only gets to play when the season is virtually over! He relley could not organise a . - up in a brewery.

Agree1 Disagree1

01 May 2016 23:50:34
I wouldn't have sold Naismith but you never mentioned selling, you was talking about him buying players. But the fact remains, none of us have seen enough of Niasse to make a definite decision on whether he is good enough. He was always going to be brought in slowly, he had to adapt to the training and the league and it would take a lot to oust Rom out of the team (at the time he was bought) .
I'm no fan of RM either but at least make decent arguments.

Agree1 Disagree0

01 May 2016 18:47:38
Just a thought even if we do have extra money and the likes of man city and such basically don't abide by the financial fair play I have always assumed we have been paying wages up to the ceiling of what we can to survive, yes we have a new injection via the new deal but how much room do we have to play with considering all are other income hasn't changed.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Manchester City have suffered for not meeting FFP rules and have since worked within the framework. In the future it will be tougher for a number of clubs that have significant sponsorship - as there will likely be a cap. Manchester City (a) have a larger income than most, and (b) whilst working within the rules are making use of some pretty extreme sponsorship that comes via their owner's business interests. SO the figures are skewed.

This is seen as an issue by UEFA and the reason there have been efforts over the past three years or so to agree a sponsorship cap. UEFA are happy for those European clubs that meet (now twice a year) to come up with a proposal, but so far they have failed to agree a figure. UEFA are aware that taking the matter to the European Club Association will not help them. Eventually they will come up with a cap themselves and that will be it. A similar issue is being discussed about capping TV and media income for FFP. With a senior official moved on it might be easier to push something through as the resistance was related to the three clubs that would be most impacted by a change include Manchester City and two clubs that play in the French league.}

{Ed002's Note - Rubbish. His English is just fine. Where do you get all of this nonsense from? Is this what they are saying on the streets of Twitter?}

01 May 2016 13:48:51
Twitter and people believing the stuff they read in Papers. Stories a bit slow to come by, let's fill the gaps with borderline downright lies. Hasn't Lowe just signed a new contract. Truth is who knows what is in the mind of Mr Moshri or his representatives with regards a new Manager, as others have alluded to, nothing will happen until Season end, so let's not grasp at straws eh. With regards football and the match yesterday, as a fan I want to see my Team trying at least and yesterday I saw that. Whether it was a lucky win or not is irrelevant, we are in a results business and that is what we got.

replace kone, pienaar, osman, hibbert, mcgeady, howard. so 3 midfielders, defender, goalkeeper and a striker then we have a squad all under 30 years old except barry and jags. with some good youngsters coming through let's hope the new manager spends wisely. we do need a strong leader/ captain, a playmaker instead of relying on barkley all the time, left attacking midfielder, goalkeeper and a premier league striker that can fit straight in. LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEW SEASON, PLAY THE YOUNGSTERS NOW AND SHOW US THE TALENT, END THE SEASON ON A HIGH (FORGET THE TROUBLES ITS HISTORY NOW) .

All these rumours about Managers who could replace Roberto Martinez, yet we have no idea what the Board have decided or if indeed an actual meeting took place. It would seem strange for them to hold a meeting on a Friday afternoon and added to that for Roberto also to attend (as some sources! indicated) when he was preparing the Team for yesterday. I think the whole thing should now be put to bed until the end of the season. In the summer we shall see what we shall see, if Roberto is still in charge then it will be a new season, new start, new hope and the round a bout of fan emotions begins again.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 May 2016 08:08:18
I don't think the issue is whether RM a good manager. There are very few now who think he's up to this job and he still sounds delusional about his philosophy. It's how we as a club and its supporters deal with that. It's near the end of the season. Most good managers are in charge of other teams, the best of whom are still working on winning things. Is that the best time for the directors of the club to sack the manager and appoint the best replacement? It's ridiculous to think they could just communicate with the fans - communicate what? That they'll be sacking Roberto at the end of the season? That would be nonsense. That they'll be reviewing things? Every club reviews things at the end of every season. They could reasonably have expected the fans to understand that a review will take place but people are just showing they actually don't have the faintest clue what's involved in running any organisation, football club or anything else. It's embarrassing that people with so little understanding of how it works in reality believe they should be able to demand that the board does its job badly by either sacking someone before they have a replacement or by issuing meaningless statements that would only serve to undermine everyone involved. It's even more embarrassing that they see that as standing up for the club. Football managers, like all of us, don't want to work for employers who behave like idiots, especially those who humiliate the, er, manager. The way we handle this, board and fans, says something to prospective replacements and reflects on the image of the club. We've tended to be a club in the past that.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - the posts this weekend have been very interesting coyb and this is no exception mate..even though it seems unfinished..

01 May 2016 08:57:24
Agree with most coyb but feel that they've left RM in limbo.
If he's staying fair enough that's their decision but if not the clock is already ticking towards next season.
I don't believe the club are holding the sly, secret meetings with manager agents that other clubs have done in the past (one in particular comes to mind! ) so we're effectively treading water.
Be dignified, end RMS contract tomorrow and it allows for time to consult and the new manager gets time to prepare for a very important season for the club.
Dither and we will end up with a knee jerk appointment in July.

Agree2 Disagree1

01 May 2016 09:23:11
Thanks Ed, yeah it doesn't seem to have all posted. I was saying we've tended not to tap players up publicly and not do our dirty washing in public. I'd like to see us stick with that policy. I take Mushy's point IF the board haven't yet begun to think about the situation and possible solutions, but it's a false dichotomy to say it's either that we're not doing anything or that we've sacked the manager. There will be constant evaluation of the performance of all employees behind the scenes. That process should not be a public one.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i have never been an advocate of doing our dirty washing in public coyb, but i do think the club could connect better with the supporters where matters like this are concerned mate..

01 May 2016 11:10:08
Totally agree mushy, lasts thing we want is a last minute dash to find a manager. If we 'mutually agreed' to part ways now, would that not show some intent? We don't have to approach anyone, it's more a fact that everyone will know Eveton football club needs a manager. I don't claim to know the workings in football, but in life if there is a job I know about I ussually contact them, would the same not apply? Would that not allow people to show there interest and allow us to follow procedures and put the feelers out?

And ed25 think it's just the fact us supporters have simply had enough at this moment, just as we thought the dark days were over more clouds clog the sky, but hopefully the sun is fighting through and things will get brighter. Me myself have just had enough of watching others improving to were we where and should be whilst we regress. It's a painful watch right now. Role on brighter days!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i think we all feel the same bestyrne but its how we go about addressing the issue that has me worried, i dont want our great supporters seen in a bad light and labeled by the press as anarchists so its important that we act in a dignified manner mate..

01 May 2016 07:06:31
Totally disagree with the impression being given that the vast majority of protesters hate BK.
Simply not the case, Bill is and always will be a great friend to this club.
He stepped in and became a legend when he risked everyone thing he'd earned to prop up the club after Johnson.
But (there's always a but) he 'appeared'3 years ago to be totally besotted with RM and this would appear to still be the case.
So what do you do when you see a true friend being led towards the edge of a cliff by a guy who seems intent to the point of arrogance on of leading us to the Championship?

You shout stoop!

In the years to come it is a near certainty that BK will be honoured by the club.

Move away from the edge Bill, your loyalty to Bob must not tarnish your reputation and work you have done to build up the club from the ashes of Johnson.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - thats a good point and well made mushy, it is never easy in a situation like we are in where expectation and reality clash, and while i think that bobby should be replaced and in fact bill take a back seat at the club i really hope its done with dignity and respect by the supporters mate..

I think it's also a clash of ability and sentiment. Bill ( who I am a big fan of ) tends to dwell on past successes and romances the good old day, understandably as I remember them with great pride. But we cannot allow sentiment rule over probable outcome, which is hurting our club. The fans are getting restless and demonstration mustn't be allows to get out of hand. The protest after the game was acceptable but the plain I don't like. A bit fur coat no knickers that one.

I also didn't like the way the club drowned out the protest with the PA system. That was arrogant towards paying supporters who were inoffensive and entitled to be heard.

I do think though that the board has probably decided to wait until June to make any decisions public and that's when we will probably find out that we are changing our manager.

{Ed025's Note - that could well be the case ace, but whatever happens i hope there is a bit of decorum from both sides and that we conduct our affairs in the right manner, after all this is our club we are talking about mate..

Agree. Its our club. Also needs noteing 36000 vacated the stadium as normal, probably like most fed up with the on field performances but allowing the board to make the big choices.

Could we please put a sop to slagging off our players, especially the youngsters. Ross is only 22 and he's expected to carry that team. Who's next Pennington? Carry on and you will hound out some of the best young talent we have had for years. If your a true supporter then support your team, and especially it's young players.

{Ed025's Note - no argument fro me on that woburn..

EB I get your frustration but Woburn is right. This boy is as blue as all of us and a pretty fine player too. That's something for us to be very proud of and needs our support. He will be great so it's our responsibility to make him feel at home every time he's crosses the white line.

Nil satis nisi optimum "nothing but the best is good enough"
This is a statement of values, Honesty, Integrity, ability, morals and actions not only for the club and players but the so called supporters who think it is their god given right to insult certain players with their vile comments. Then voice their so called educated opinions in relation to the chairman and manager.
Though I have never believed Martinez was the right appointment I don't feel he deserved to be subjected to the treatment and public humiliation of the mindless few, who also vented their anger against our Chairman.

How many of our so called supporters given the same set of circumstances he faced many years ago have given every penny they had to save their club, now when it appears we have a rich investor and his health is not how it should some supporters are baying for blood.
I agree Martinez needs to go but surely it is for the club to decide when and how and to be done with dignity and class which sadly seems to lacking with certain sections of supporters.
Never posted before probably never again.

Agree. Every game they sing if you know our history, yet conveniently forget that if it wasn't for Bill they might not have a team to support. No I too did not want Roberto then and I don't want him now but it is for the Club to decide who they think can drive us forward. Whoever that maybe it is the Club I support.

Fans have got the right to voice their opinion. I disagree with the planes and all that but who are you to say 'so called fans'? I'm pretty sure everyone who posts on here is a proper fan. All we want is a bit of transparency, just tell us if he's going or staying so we can get on with it.

We all thank Bk for ending the agent Johnson era . He has dined out on the I remortgaged my house to buy Everton tale for long enough he loves the romance of seeing himself as Evertons knight in shinning armour . What he doesn't shout about is he was obviously skint when he bought Everton hence the remortgage a quick check now an the guys worth 40 mil buying Everton was the best bit of business he ever did jersey boys was chump change compared to what he has made out of the club he has had a steady income for the last few years also taking loans of his buddy's at sky high interest rates to make sure they got in on the act he has failed us in many ways and treats us like we're stupid . kings dock we all got excited no go let's sell bellfield to fund a training ground we all agree what happens we end up not even owning are training ground and know one no;s what happened to bell field. Bk has enjoyed his ownership of Everton to the full he loved moyse because he made us look better than we were he papered over the cracks for Bk and his friends and we the fans fell for it every time . He told us how the search for new investment was a long process but in the last 12 months as soon as his health was coming into question and he realised he needs to get his business dealings in line lo and behold he finds an investor . Bills long term family security is safe his pension will be great his golden handshake with mr moshiri will look after him beyond his years . I don't even think he will get rid of Rm he will leave it til it's someone else's choice has never had a backbone and will want to be remembered for not sacking managers and not moving us to Kirby which would of killed are great club hopefully the new board won't be about smokescreens and will have a genuine plan to move us forward and actually come through with the stuff they say hopefully we will get to the summer and the transition period will begin hopefully starting with a new manager.

{Ed025's Note - i cant say i agree with all you say AM8s but if thats your view then i can respect that, every side has its good and bad points but in the end its a common goal we are looking towards which is the betterment of EFC, who knows how this will pan out?, but whatever transpires i hope we all conduct ourselves in a manner befitting this great club mate..
