Anyody else rate Ashley Williams?
always thought he was better than Swansea (no disrespect to them) he's a good leadership figure as would solidify our defence for sure.

Would any of you lads take him?

Personally I like him mate but quite a few dont, opinions differ.

we've been linked with Williams and Taylor from Swansea for a while, might just be the old Martinez connection's but there's always talk coming from Wrexham (I live near) about a move from Taylor (ex Wrexham) to us.

I'd love Williams at Goodison, proper centre half, I remember at home last season he had rom in his pocket.

Then we are of the same opinion Longyefc.
we need a good no nonsense CB and i do think he fits the bill. id equally like Scott Dan.

Think both are great players and Williams, for me, is a player i feel is good enough to play for a top 5-6 side instead of mid table Swansea.

not sure how long he's been with them for but surely over his career some big clubs have come knocking for him?

I think he's what we need Murff, he's Prem Proven too. but is getting on the wrong side of 30. i'm sure Koeman will sort it out if he feels he needs too.

a big fat no from me over williams. don't rate him at all, scores a goal for wales so all of a sudden he is good enough for everton no thanks. don't see any other clubs tripping over themselves to buy him because they no he ain't top notch.

Gotta say congrats to wales for their 3-1 win over Belgium. didn't watch the game so i can't say i know if Lukaku even played but if he did he didn't get on the scoresheet again.

Cracking game Greg, game of tournament so far for me, Lukaku average, Felli missed sitter, Wales played well and they certainly are not a one man team, shame about Ramsey yellow card as will miss V Portugal which I think Wales will win.

01 Jul 2016 23:03:15
Rom looked like he just didn't want it. Robbie Savage nailed it when he said Lukaku just won't fight from the ball, he had a header and was tripped on the edge of the box but barely made a sound about it.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Jul 2016 09:38:49
Bit upset i missed it then aha.

i really am of two opinions with Lukaku. he is a very talented footballer and we all know that his stats for his age are comparable to that of Ronaldo etc (goals to games)
but there are games where it just completely passes him by.

2-3 seasons back when we played him on the wing against Arsenal he dominated the game. But i can name any of the 8, 9, 10 games from the back half of the seasons and he just didn't look interested. (we can possibly accuse poor service but i feel he needs to do more)

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Jul 2016 22:03:53
Does this mean we're stuck with Rom. Isn't there a mandatory Chelsea get-yer-money back clause?

May not be worth 65 pesos.

But if someone is silly enough to pay it id certainly take it.

Give robson kanu a stupid haircut and a Belgian name and he b worth 30mil.

Read this as i was sliding through the recent responses and thought you said Give him a contract.

i personally think he's good enough to push for what we're aiming for (i believe he was released by Reading when his contract expired earlier this year)

but he's been a good player for Wales during the World Cup, would anyone take him on a free?

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Jul 2016 21:32:58
Don't like the look of Belgium's centre forward, missed a sitter and has no movement or desire to win the ball.
Apparently he is a 65mil player!

30 million for Witzel seems very steep looking at tonight's performance.

Trying to find any news on Zlatan signing with ManU on Sly. No luck, just a rumor I guess (thinly veiled sarcasm, you'd think Jose was elected President of Earth or something based on the coverage. Should we all fall down and forfeit our games with ManU next season? )

Although the answer should be no, we don't fear anyone ;)

Sunderland been Turned down by edin dzeko. I'd take him at Everton. Quality striker and proven in the prem.

First signing is a 33 year old championship keeper, surely as back up to an eventual No 1?

Steklenberg signed! So he's good cover, now all we need is a good keeper! Witsel says "as long as he's at a great club he don't mind where he plays, Italy or England. Fingers crossed we can pull that signing off!

Some people going on about that keeper, firstly media mention it and because palace sign him people moan.
N one knows who were after so just sit back and wait. I couldn't care less never heard of him like everyone else. Transfer window been open one day and were already going on.

Some people have to much expectation. Rk just started let him get in the door, players will be here, we could sign Ronaldo, bale, and god knows who else and people on here would still moan.

We will get are targets, we will be mentioned with every man and his dog don't mean EVERTON have actually gone for him till he has signed.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

01 Jul 2016 19:35:31
Of course we would PB. Ronaldo sulks, Bale is not good enough and God would want too much in wages so yeah damn right we'd moan. ;)

Hi boys and Ed's been away awhile, looking forward to new season under Koeman we will see who he might sign, but don't be surprised if it's only a goalie time will tell he might like kone and mcgeady, god help us if he does! Good luck to all for new season.

Looks like Mandanda is going to Palace. Hope this means we're after someone like Fraser Forster. Hennessey and the Northern Ireland keeper have been impressive in the Euros, too. Stekelenberg a decent choice as no 2 keeper if it happens. As long as it's not Hart and I'm not sure if Valdés would be a good fit. Always thought Begovic was a safe pair of hands.

Not only have Palace signed Townsend they have signed Steve Mandanda as well. While were still trying to sign a reserve keeper. Roll on deadline day I think it's going to be a long hard transfer window again.

According to the official retained/ released lists issued a few weeks ago, there were seven Everton young professionals who were offered contract renewals: Charsley, Duffus T., Dyson, Grant, Gray, Griffiths and Robinson. Presumably their contracts ended on 30th June, so - if they haven't renewed - they would become "free agents" today (1st July) . As the club offered renewed terms to these aged-under-24 players, I understand that compensation fees would be payable (it wouldn't be another Gosling debacle! ) if they signed for another English club.
My question is: are any of the posters/ fans on this website able to state which of these players has renewed and which have decided to leave? The official club website is (as usual! ) less than informative about these (admittedly arcane) matters.

Bags of pace and intelligent cut back for the goal, faded a bit in the second half but looks decent to me.

I wouldn't have been impressed with Ronaldo going by that game. We can all make judgments on one game but it's a bit short sighted.

Agree2 Disagree0

01 Jul 2016 14:48:50
At least looks like a grafter and both sides played over cautiously last night. Had good movement off the ball, didn't get a lot of service when he was quite often in a decent position. Plays with the ball very close to his feet, with deft control and has good pace, but didn't see him combine the two very often. Surely a bit better than McGeady, as he tracked back to defend well, but lacks the flair of Mirallas. To be honest, I think we need two Left Wingers, as we don't really have anyone that has convincingly filled that position, since peanuts. I'd take Grosiki for £8M though, if that is indeed the fee.
