If it is true Spurs offered 5 mill and Lennon for two big for his boots Mirrallas I say take it get rid bye bye move on and good rid.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - he does not get a lot of sympathy from me either stef..

On THBN they are saying the following.

"Tottenham offered Everton £3 million plus Aaron Lennon, who is valued at £7 million, Everton want £5 million plus Lennon on loan, with an option to buy in the summer. Tottenham want a loan with a guaranteed purchase."

Not sure it is a deal I would want to be honest.

Agree0 Disagree0

How is lennon valued at 7 million and mirrallas only 3-5 when they've both got 18 months left on their contracts? Do one levvy I'd rather let kevs contract run down.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note

And yet before penalty debacle, we were saying 20-25 million.amazing how missing a penalty devalues a player. Lennon is nowhere near the player mirallas is.

i hate it when we deal with tottenham and levy. i remember the peinaar incident when we bought him back for as much as we sold him. the mans a deluded skin flint. i'd rather look elsewhere to sell kev. like athletico. send him there with koke xoming the other way.

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha Denti 25 mill where the hell did you get that from yes he is a good player but the day a player thinks he is bigger than Everton is the day he has to say bye bye good luck and all the best. Players should be proud to play for Everton a club steeped in history and pride I say dellp into it it's mind blowing we are a very very very big club any player wearing our jersey should be proud of it if not then do one Coyb.

This is exactly what I've been saying dentie

Agree0 Disagree0

Penalty incident aside, Mirallas is worth much more than 5 million alone. I'd say at least 15-20 mil, for levy however, he can pay 35

Agree0 Disagree0

Have I missed something here when has Kev every said he is too big for Everton? Has he not always said he will make a decision at the end of the season about if he stays or if he goes? Why do we constantly slag off our players just because someone has heard a rumour from a "reliable source"! Okay he made a mistake taking that penalty but do we really want to get rid of one of our best players for one mistake? We all know he want CL football but what player doesn't? As for his valuation well that will be based on what someone is prepared to pay and what EFC are prepared to accept.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - kev is a good player sa90, and if his attitude was better i would want to keep him, the penalty incident was not the first time his inflated ego has surfaced though mate, its obvious he wants away and we cant allow him to run his contract down and leave for nothing next year, for me it would be sign a new contract now or your out the door, kow-towing to these prima donnas does the club no favours, if your not desperate to wear the shirt then for me i dont want you here, but thats just my opinion..

We've got a year option so av heard

Atsu on fire and Eto who left for a team capable of Champions League place gets a 5-1 stuffing!
Oh dear, how sad, never mind.

RM apparently wishes to pass on his thanks to the posters on this site for helping him get the three points yesterday.

He thinks a lot of his problems have been a result of his misunderstanding of the English language. He thinks he speaks English well and is proud of his use of big words such as phenonenal. However when he has read the posts on this site he has not properly understood many of the phrases we use.

He therefore decided to study further idioms, similes, metaphors, euphemisms etc in order that he better understands our advice and communicates it better to the players and the fans.

A few examples: Having spoken with BK before the chairman lost his voice, he picked up some expressions used in the theatre. Therefore, when he asked Mo Besic, he of Bosnian descent, to 'break a leg' before his first few games, this was taken literally and at first Besic was a red card waiting to happen. The advice to only buy players in the January window who 'were going for a song' also hampered his dealings. A winger was also offered for £5m only for him to be told this was ' an arm and a leg'. RM felt that the whole player therefore would cost at least double that and the deal collapsed. More recently after the bad PR over the Mirallas and Baines penalty fiasco he was advised to get Kevin to 'eat humble pie' but was unable to find anywhere to buy it.

He know gets what 'square pegs' is all about and yesterday dropped Barkley, as he believes he has been ' all Bark and no bite' and played only one number ten. He also believes his substitutions were more like for like.

Regarding Aiden, he feels he owes us an apology. He was advised before he signed that he 'wouldn't cut the mustard' but having met him beforehand saw he had no problems in the eating department. He was also told recently that Aiden needed to 'put a shift in' and had him work nights once a week in a factory which has had a negative impact on his performances on the pitch.

RM is learning however to take advice though. A meeting took place with the kit man when the coaching staff told him he needed more 'clean sheets' Now he understands the real meaning of this and we haven't conceded for two games he feels this has put us in a special moment.

He knows navyblue and others are suggesting including McCarthy alongside Besic and Barry and now he has heard the next opponents have been with three at the back and flooding the midfield is giving this serious thought.

So going forward RM says he is not going to bury his head in the sand and be as stubborn as a mule or turn a blind eye to the obvious, but to turn over a new leaf, have a game plan, let his actions speak louder than his thousands of words.

Finally when it comes to talking about Evertonians, to put his brain in gear and use his loaf, as blood, especially blue blood is thicker than water.

{Ed025's Note - i enjoyed that tedster..

Very good Tedster, enjoyed a little chuckle at that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Tedster: good post - you certainly are a cunning linguist and I hope your missus appreciates that ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

That will bring a smile to all that read above posts. Well done lads

Used to play for a five a side Team which we named the Cunning Linguists, the Vicar took umbrage (true story) so we changed the name to Cunning Lingerers, he gave up after a few expletives that cannot be repeated on here and should never be spoken by a vicar anyway, oh and we were not phenomenal either.

Lennon joins Hull City on Loan,

Well that's the end of the Kev to Tottenham Debacle. Anyways, he's made a mistake, and should have come out and apologized, but even though he hasnt, he's still got my support.

And Mcgeady though very frustrating, shows glimpses of his technical ability last night. I really enjoyed watching him beat the Palace Right Back, but his end product is shocking. Needs to up his game and pull his weight, otherwise we should just sell him. Probably do well in the championship tbh.

Regarding kev. I honestly think he wants out. just a matter of time. Regarding McGrath I was touting him to have a great season this year.his ball control can be sublime at times. but here is the problem. he consistently makes the wrong decisions and consistently does too much, why beat a man once when you can try it three times. I honestly think he could have a future IF he kept it simple. but he's failed to do it all season. and given that he does not really offer much in the way of defensive duties. I think it's time he was shipped out

Well couldn't really have asked for better really. A win and three valuable points, and the bottom five all losing. Fortunately there are enough poor teams in this league for us to survive, but still not convinced with the direction we are going in as a team.

Liverpool, Chelsea, Leicester and then Arsenal next.

12 points up for grabs.

Liverpool, we will beat, obviously because they're carp.

Chelsea, we will also beat, because we are phenomenal.

Leicester, we will lose to, that is the way with everton.

Arsenal we will grind out a 3-3 draw with giroud scoring in the dying moments.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i will be happy with 4 points out of them QB..

01 Feb 2015 17:38:58
Gotta dream bigger ED, 2 Wins and a draw for me. Hope so anyways.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i would love to QB..but im a realist mate..

QB: you write that the darkside are "carp" - that sounds fishy to me.

I have dreams too. Problem is mine are nightmares!

Bit of cheer here, I'm in las vegas for my wife's 30th birthday, so after lots of beer in harrahs I asked the duelling pianos act to play a song for my wife (I added we were huge everton fans) so he gave a shout out and then began to sing "it's a grand old team" we went nuts and proudly shouted to everton song to over 150 people, complete with "koppites are gobs##tes" at the end. That was 2.30 am and made our night. Coyb!

Anyone else think we should consider three in midfield next week, Barry brings experience even without his pace, Mccarthy brings passing and tackling and Besic is a great tackler and future ace.
Might give us a little more defensively against the reds and would allow a little more space for Rom up top, thoughts?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I would navy. but i'd play naismith false 9 with lukaku an kev out wider

Agree0 Disagree0

No Mcgeady! ;)
Lukaku actually plays well out wide most of the time and it gives defenders something to think about, might be worth a shout.

Agree0 Disagree0

Naismith false nine is a shout against there 3 man defence

Winning ugly is still a win.
Besic should never leave tha startin XI
Jags was back today.

But. nearly two weeks off to prepare for Palace?

RM is saving his surprise plan for the Reds. 10 holding midfielders and Joel. We'll pass Brenda to sleep.

Still a good day and solid defensive effort.

Wasn't the best performance but a win is a win. Defended well for most of the game, even if there seemed to be a bit of panic in certain situations. I'm not too confident if we continue in this vain though, we rode our luck a bit against another struggling team. Against better players and teams we may not be so fortunate.
That said, how good does it feel to grab 3 points for the first time in what seems like years? COYB

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - it feels great spud, im not after a witch hunt mate, just for our club to do well mate..

01 Feb 2015 10:18:54
I second that ed, mid table mediocrity will suit me after the way we have played this season! Let's hope for another improved performance against that lot.
On another note, Besic should retain his position. He has been the main plus point of this season so far, tidy little footballer. When JM is back, them two should be played in the middle together with Barry being relegated to the bench. Hope he stays for many years to come

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - he has been great spud, we really need his tenacity and fighting qualities during this run in, he really is an example to all the other guys on how to apply yourself when the going gets tough mate..
