Use our rumours form to send us everton transfer rumours.

01 Aug 2018 21:42:55
This is not transfer related but seeing we are all worried about centre backs, do the Eds or anybody else know how the young lad Lewis Gibson is progressing? He was very highly thought of last year when we signed him from Newcastle.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - doing very well apparently duaney, made skipper of the U23,s for the final few games after an impressive season, just turned 18 so still a bit young for the senior squad yet but watch this space mate... he could be special..

01 Aug 2018 22:10:05
Thank you for the feedback Ed. It is good to know we have such promising players coming through.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - we have quite a few duaney, we need to concentrate on the present though mate at the moment..

01 Aug 2018 23:54:33
I'm from north east and Newcastle fans were not happy he was allowed to leave. Unsy says he doing great and big things expected from him. Left footed centre half too. I'm hoping for a few to push on this year like Bowler, Evans, Markelo, Hornby and possibly Bass Sambou.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Aug 2018 21:10:58
Now we’ve signed Digne what’s the thoughts on playing Baines as left wing in front of Digne could work as good covering each other and both overlapping as in the days of Baines and Pienaar ( who we never replaced to get the best out of Baines)

Pickford
Coleman Hollgate Keane/ new Digne
Walcott Gana Sigurdsson Baines
Tosun Richarlison

I know that’s 442 but it could go 433 with Walcott up front
Anyway just a thought.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

01 Aug 2018 21:48:16
I get where you’re coming from but the above would basically be a diamond midfield with Gana as DM and Sig as AM. Only having Gana in front of the inexperienced Holgate and Keane who has no concentration or positional sense terrifies me.

Agree2 Disagree0

01 Aug 2018 23:55:53
Could put Baines at left dm. Bayer had success with lahm going into that position from lb.

Agree0 Disagree1

02 Aug 2018 01:07:18
I remember Martinez saying Baines could do that role like Lahm
Just wondering if Roberto was saying it was that a good or bad thing 🤔.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Aug 2018 19:49:14
Eds has the club given lookman assurances over first team footy or does he want to go regardless?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - i dont know jcl but i hope not, game time should be earned imo and as much as i rate ademola promising anyone guaranteed game time would be a mistake mate..

01 Aug 2018 20:52:09
Too many mistakes in the lad to be guaranteed playing time eh Ed.

Agree1 Disagree3

{Ed025's Note - mistakes are part of his learning curve GB, i think its more of setting a president mate and they will all be banging on the managers door..

01 Aug 2018 20:54:17
I don't think he starts ahead of Walcott and Richalison but he'd be cover for both, or shift Richalison into the centre if Tosun suffers with poor form. Either way he should get 25-30 games in the premiership and at his age that should be enough for a year until his experience improves.
I don't think he'd get may more games in Germany.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i would think 10-15 games myself smit, he is still learning his trade and lacks a bit of physicality for me which is only expected to be fair at his age..

01 Aug 2018 21:08:04
Yeah was thinking of a couple of good cup runs too.
My bad. Lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Aug 2018 20:17:16
Yup, totally agree, and although it's a different league he flattered in Germany, over the short time he was there, and if M&M have stated he is in their plans, then he must have showed something in training. When you consider the fact that Williams and schneiderlin show nothing in league games (regardless of how good they may look in training) but still get starting slots on the team sheet, surely the lad deserves a run of games, i.e assurances of a run of games to prove he can do what he did in the bundesliga in the premier league. at least that's my take on it. If he fails then we still have the January transfer window with a host of suitors I'm sure.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2018 01:09:27
Remember Lookman is only 12! Still time to grow!
Well that’s how old he looks lol 😂.

Message for Johnny1989. cheers fpr the support mate and no I never thought you were having a dig and yes I am chilled. Re your loss. I am so sorry to hear that and yes blind faith is understandable. I just like to think I have made an informed decision even if it is blind faith! Yes a pint when I am up will be good. I am in Cornwall these days so its only a few games a season now. Will give you a shout when up. In fact anyone on here who wants to meet for a get together. before a game. I am up for it and I can guarantee we will all get on better than with the frustrations of messages and banter on here!

We, what’s the script with Besic? Is he seen to be in our plans or in the shop window? Or has he even moved on? Haven’t heard or seen much recently.

Everton the gear.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - im not sure jimbo but i have heard nothing about him leaving at the moment mate..

01 Aug 2018 19:38:41
Cheers Ed, I believe he was one of Boro best players went he went on loan. maybe give him a go? Maybe? Tom Davies didn’t look the player we thought he would be however could be down to Big Sams tactics who knows. Also deserves another go in my eyes. Also we have baningime. I really do believe a lot of us want another midfielder which I believe also we need. But maybe MS can get the best out of what we have including Schneiderlin. and if we are going to bring another in surely a few of these have to go first!

Everton the gear.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - marco will still be getting to know the squad jimbo so hopefully they will all get a chance mate..

01 Aug 2018 20:57:12
I think Marco wants high energy players to fit his style of play Jimbo and there are a few like Schneiderlin and Keane who aren't going to make it I'm afraid.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Aug 2018 18:48:25
So reds utd sniffing round yerry Mina now, that's us out the frame then, go there and sit in the bench then, any truth in the Rojo link, and how about a back up to Cenk, 8 days and counting MS/ MB, blue boys concerned.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

01 Aug 2018 19:25:05
Personally, I think we should have walked away from Mina once he hesitated waiting for the likes of utd came in for him. He will walk into their first team I reckon, looks a good player from the bits I've seen. On to the next target it is! I'd like us to test Newcastle's resolve over Lascalles, see if they would sell or not. If Williams is on the way to Stoke, as some press outlets are suggesting, then MB/ MS must have someone lined up to sign, who is it?

Agree2 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - lascalles would do nicely for me potato..

01 Aug 2018 19:34:40
Why walk away if he is our no1 target. Let Man u match the fee and the wages and guarantee him he won't be sat on the bench.
Man u is a big pull for a player but he won't want to go and sit on the bench otherwise he'd stay at Barca.

Agree2 Disagree0

01 Aug 2018 20:50:57
Me too ed025, are the links to him wild rumours or do you know if we are sniffing around him?
Smit, I think we should invest our time in a player that wants to come, not wait to see if he gets a better offer, more so because we have limited time to waste this window. Nothing against the lad, I don't blame him for taking such a stance. I just don't want to have to watch JW on ssn to see if we are actually going to sign a cb!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - we were interested early on potato but i have heard no updates on him recently mate..

01 Aug 2018 20:18:37
Lascalles for me too. Strong, quick and great in the air. Cash and player.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Aug 2018 20:20:07
I think Barcelona are trying to make room in their non EU quota, unt are being priced out of a move for Alderweireld and Maguire, much may happen yet.

First game of the season against Wolves who starts between Baines and Digne if both fit. I would have to say this new chap, would seem a waste if he is going to be understudy to Baines as the money could have been used elsewhere.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

01 Aug 2018 18:14:41
Haven’t seen much of Digne but that is the kind of game I’d look to bed him in with. Wolves won’t be a pushover and I reckon they’ll do quite well this year, but would rather the new lad cuts his team against them than having DeBruyne or Salah welcoming him to the prem.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Aug 2018 19:35:32
Maybe a home game might be a better game to blood him.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Aug 2018 17:44:04
ED 25 with richarlison digne in our left side looks lot more dangerous then last year. also talk about badou ndiaye who was linked couple weeks ago and kevin Campbell saying he better then idrissa which good enough for me. Williams going which hopefully means we get new cb. Williams was decent cb at Swansea but his pace has gone he still do job at stoke. For me out cb we been linked with i would like mee feel he underrated as keane got in England squad playing next to him and so did tarowksi.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - it looks like we got the wrong burnley CB bretto both mee and tarowski are better than keane, not a massive fan of rojo either but i feel he would be a massive upgrade on williams mate..

01 Aug 2018 18:15:35
I still think there something in keane ed but think mee brings best out of him and tarowksi. Would not surprise me if unkown cb came in from edervisse or south American.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - our CH should not need a babysitter bretto..

01 Aug 2018 20:33:26
Think mee brings best out of him.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Aug 2018 20:59:25
Neither Mee or Tarowski were considered better than Keane whilst he was with Burnley. Maybe they are all good defenders but they are better suited too the way Burnley play. I don't think Burnley won an away game when Keane was their centre back. Anyways I am over Burnley way all weekend, I'll do some sniffing and see if we are interested in stealing another defender off them lol, I'll keep you all posted.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Aug 2018 22:02:45
Bretto to mee too 😂😂.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Aug 2018 17:39:59
Holgate 100% should play in my view.
If we played three CB’s then I think we can accommodate for Keane despite his lack of pace if another CB is signed who has some. Ship out Williams and have jags/ besic/ Pennington as back ups. Baines call also play as a left sided centre back in a 3 now we have a Natural LB to replace him. (I think this was maybe part of the thinking behind letting Mori leave)

In short I’m saying I hope we sign a CB. If we can bring in 2 and not have to rely on the back ups mentioned then even better.

Jack Charlton

Believable0 Unbelievable0

01 Aug 2018 17:01:01
if we let williams go out on loan, that will be 2 defender out and none in, surely we need to bring 2 more in not just one.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - im sure they have thought about that simon and are addressing the problem as we speak..

01 Aug 2018 18:28:26
Is Williams a defender? Could have fooled me.

01 Aug 2018 14:14:17
See Rodwell being allowed to train at finch farm, what a waste of a career, I remember seeing him play for England's u19s in Bristol once was working there all week and went along to a friendly he was only 17 but completely ran the game played just in front of back 4, was immense after match I truly believed this was not only a top player but one that would go on to be captain of England, prime example for any top young pro, play as much football as you can or end up like him, maybe he could pop down to Chelsea and tell Barkley your on the road to nowhere.

Believable6 Unbelievable0

01 Aug 2018 14:58:04
I thought he was going to be a top player too when he first broke through. Goes to show that to reach the top you need more than just talent. To be fair to JR, injuries have stalled his career rather than greed. I wish the lad well wherever he ends up.

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Aug 2018 15:42:36
Always thought ne would make a good centre half myself.

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Aug 2018 17:01:51
That's what DM always said. "He will end up as a CB at some point but he wants to play midfield"

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Aug 2018 14:01:26
I know he has an bad injury he is recovering from and has had niggling injuries last 2 seasons but do we see McCarthy being involved with us, just be like a new player if we get him going again and I think silva could get best out of him.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

01 Aug 2018 14:22:09
mate he's pur best cm when fit, can't wait to see him in blue again.

01 Aug 2018 14:49:43
Totally agree. ran the last derby he was in.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Aug 2018 17:05:12
That says more (or less? ) About our central options.
I like his fire and I'd have him in my Sunday league team but come on, he ain't the answer were looking for.

He did play well but anyone who kicks lumps and gets the ball back in a team that's woefully underperforming, will look like some kind of demi God. I truthfully think he is squad option at best. I think he deserves a shot but likely elsewhere.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - hes an enigma to me MTBTY, very good one week and the next a virtual nonentity, not a bad squad option as you say mate..

01 Aug 2018 14:01:04
Jack Rodwell is training with the u23,s after being released by Watford, Everton have no plans to sign the player, however for me regardless of jumping ship, he is still only 27 years old, hardly on the end of his playing career.

Personally for free, I would add him to the squad, if we manage to offload other players.

Thing with Rodwell, he has looked after himself and for a freebie, could do a lot worse, what's not to like.

Believable2 Unbelievable7

01 Aug 2018 14:39:42
We are trying to reduce the wage bill and squad size so that's not the best idea I've heard.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Aug 2018 16:26:15
Ye not the best idea mate. We need to move forward, move on.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Aug 2018 17:09:02
He has thrown away his most crucial years for a pay cheque and a seat on a world famous bench. He then failed big time at one of the worst Prem sides of all time.

If we went down last year, maybe jist maybe I'd suggest he'd be worth a pay as you play contract.

He's had the riches and the girls, that was his dream. Shame as he was highly highly rated and seemed to be backing it up. i'm sure he will pass his name on for the use of doing a "rodwell" next!

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Aug 2018 13:22:28
Lascelles next please, those Geordies would go nuts.

Believable6 Unbelievable0

01 Aug 2018 13:27:54
The only way I can see this happening is that if RB gets assurances that he can reinvest the money in the squaaad. Otherwise no way.

01 Aug 2018 14:11:23
Wont be up to him mate, the fat cockney won't turn down a big bag of dosh.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Mike Ashley is far from being a Cockney.}

01 Aug 2018 14:57:09
Ed do you have any info on whether Newcastle would let Lascelles go?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - They are not looking to sell but there is another side very interested.}

01 Aug 2018 14:41:16
He values RB as an asset too much to sell his squad members behind his back. And the only London things about him are his shops, offices and the team he supports. Chelsea.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Aug 2018 17:10:37
He has spent a fortune at that club and is a pariah.
I actually think he's a genius for the way he pig headedly keeps the club. Sorry but I like to see their fans suffer.

Glad to see lucus has been announced, that's 2 in, and 2 places that needed strengthening, all that's needed now is centre defence, it's ok say Gibson, or rojo, but I'd rather see someone like smalling, he's been in the UTD side over the likes of rojo and Jones, so they must rate him over the other 2, he's got internation and club experience, and he's tall, and he's not likely to get sent off like rojo. And if we can get RLC on loan . Be happy with that,

01 Aug 2018 11:15:07
If we get a new LB I wonder if MS would take a look at Baines in the holding midfield area if we couldn't get a new face in. Not sure if he has the full skill set required but would be interesting to see if he could fill the role of Schniederlin and rotate with Beni until MS gets the man he wants.

But Why on Loan, we need to just get rid?

Agree2 Disagree0

01 Aug 2018 12:25:23
Because they won’t want to be stuck with his wage bill if they don’t go straight back up.

01 Aug 2018 13:20:59
If we can get him off the wage bill it’s a good deal. Frees us up to loan someone decent - like RLC!

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Aug 2018 13:38:39
stig ots his wages mate if no one wants to buy him is it not better to get him off the wage bill even if we don't get a transfer fee?

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Aug 2018 14:44:35
He's only got 12 months on his contract so any fee would be nominal. A loan is a sensible option.

Agree2 Disagree0

01 Aug 2018 09:53:28
on a much lighter note:

pickford

coleman rojo gibson digne

gana drinkwater siggy

Walcott tosun richarlison

would be very very happy going into season with that 11, let's hope it can be achieved.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

01 Aug 2018 10:47:09
Rojo, Gibson, Drinkwater? Meh. Rojo is not much better than Mori was (very similar type of player) , Gibson isn't much better than Keane and Drinkwater is slow. I'd rather have Lascelles, Mina and Loftus-Cheek (even on loan) .

Agree2 Disagree0

01 Aug 2018 11:10:44
Gibson more realistic option, rojo is a similar type of player to mori who I wouldn't have sold to be honest, we need a rough player a player strikers are gunna be afraid off, and drink water can be slow next to gana as long as his passes go forward, dnt want lofts cheek on loan at all ad have him permanent but why take Chelsea prospects make them better then give them back, it's ok doing it with foreign teams like Barcelona but why do it for a rival.

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Aug 2018 11:17:50
Coleman Holgate Jags/ Keane Digne

looks more likely.
