If Moyes is making a stand towards the board then we should back him. It's about time they were taken out of their comfort zone. Let's face it, Moyes, has backed their decisions every season. If it's true, then let's get behind him. They deserve an ultimatum and this is probably the biggest they can get.

Ha ha you got to laugh at Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal, they are all talking about 4th spot and the race for it been between them 3. None of them care to mention Everton but that is good for us oh I think there in for a big shock over the next few weeks foolish fans they must be blind if they think we have given up on it COYB can't wait to see what they have to say in a few weeks when were biting them all in the butt.

Believable19 Unbelievable9

Love it stef, I totally agree, apart from where already biting there buts haha.

According to talkSh*t* its between Arsenal Chelski Spuds And Liverpool no mention of us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well that just goes to show what they know if they still think liverpool have a shot and we don't

Agree0 Disagree0

I was listening to talkrubbish earlier on and there was no mention of Liverpool to be fair.

Agree0 Disagree0

Seriously, who the F cares if they talk about us or not? Does it seriously bother people that much?

I couldn't care less personally, it would make it all the much better should we actually pull it off (still a long shot)

Agree0 Disagree0

Why is it a long shot please tell me we still have to play Spurs and have a game in hand over them. Oh wait sorry cause we still have Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea, to play your right it is a long shot. get a grip will ye we played the Champions of the park on sat our tails are up now we are well capable of winning them games we will be right in there with a shout come the final weekend of the season one word mate believe in your team. COYB.

Agree0 Disagree0

Get a grip? How is it NOT a longshot to suggest we will beat Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool AWAY FROM HOME?

Would love to see the list of teams that have won at all 4 of those places in one season.

I believe in the side, but saying we are only 6pts behind with a game in hand, is easier said than done, especially given he games we have left.

I suggest you might want to get a grip, to suggest we will play the way we did against City on the weekend every week for the rest of the season, is ridiculous, do I need to remind you of what happened on the exact same ground a fortnight ago.

I am sorry for being incredibly negative, but you are just plain ignorant if you think it will be as easy as saying, oh, we will beat these sides and get 4th. It is a difficult thing to do, hence I said a longshot. I believe we can do it, but I admit the odds are against us.

Agree0 Disagree0

If you read my post I said were capable of winning them games and why not, 4th is in our hands we don't need teams to do us favours so yes I am confident we will do it. On the subject of winning them games away from home answer me this Wigan scored 3 goals in 4 minutes against us was that not along shot if you put a pound on them to score 3 goals in 4 minutes against us at home before the match you would be a millionare now but they did it didn't they. Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea, will all drop points in the run in to the end of season you can count on that so imo no it is not a long shot but a very good shot of getting 4th.

Did anyone notice post match interview Moyes saying Everton "are a very good team, and have been all season"

it was weird because Evertonians know we've been very patchy this season - with a few wins here and there covering up some dire draws and bad performances

so what was he doing there? It stuck out like a sore thumb to me

I reckon he was outlining his 'legacy' before departing - telling everyone that Everton are a 'really good team'

that way if someone like Martinez comes in after him and does well then Moyes is claiming part of the credit - and if someone comes in and does worse - then Moyes is avoiding the blame of leaving an ailing aging team with few sellable players - because he's saying it was a "good team" when he was here - that he left the club with

I think it was the statement of a man preparing to leave

Paranoia at its best here. I think he was reminding the fans who have completely slated him and the team over the last week that we ain't that bad.

Wouldnt agree that we've been patchy. Yes we have tailed off but earlier in the season when we were drawing every week we were actually dominating most of those games. But credit where its due Moyes HAS turned us around and DOES deserve most of the credit

Agree0 Disagree0

Paranoia? - much as we may not like to admit it - everton fans can see for themselves that we're not a 'very good team' - so that assessment by Moyes was well off - sometimes crappy teams like wigan or norwich or QPR give us a right run around

we splutter and choke our way to a lot of draws and sometimes we're desperate

when you watch Spurs or Arsenal (and sometimes even the rdsht) you can see they have flair players who go out to win matches playing some good stuff - with some great players doing good work - we sometimes look completely crap with donkeys booting the ball long or into touch or making bad mistakes or not competing properly in midfield

I expect us to finish 7th - with only even cheaper teams like swansea and west brom below us - we're not as good as the teams above us who spend 10s of millions on good players

Moyes's comment was just weird to me and didn't make sense - we are what we are - a team on the ledge below the 'top teams' who have money to spend and spend it

we're not a "very good team" as Moyes claimed

let's see where we finish - one swallow does not make a summer -
we're City's bogey team and they'd already given up for the summer

but proof of the pudding is in the eating. - and I'd love to be proved wrong

I predict us to finish 7th, Moyes will leave, martinez will come in and might even make us better
(ps I hope he brings McArthur with him)

Strange 1 u lad

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont you mean McCarthy mate not McArther

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope you mean McCarthy. McArthur can't even get in the wigan team!
Joe EFC

Agree0 Disagree0

Stop trying to take everything that's said about the club into 'Moyes is leaving' after have to agree here lad, extreme paranoia

Agree0 Disagree0

Well if being honest about our team is strange then so be it - being delusional will get us nowhere

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you have it completely backwards. We are a very good team that has occasionally faultered and ended with a draw in games we have mostly dominated. We have failed to finish some games off and been punished for it, and we would all agree that our squad is not deep enough. But you cannot have a consistent record against the top 4/5 teams like we have in the last few seasons without possessing a very good team

Agree0 Disagree0

Yep - I meant McCarthy - he's exactly what we need a really busy and creative centre midfielder

he might be the 'peter reid' that takes us to the next level up

(Osman is too lightweight (and lazy)to dominate games - get Martinez in and get that lad McCarthy plus a striker - hold onto baines and if needed sell fellaini and get in a good striker and we may be nearly there)

Agree0 Disagree0

Ps did you notice Lescott seek out Moyes at the final whistle for a back pat / handshake?

would definitely have him alongside jags - distin is ok but he's getting older and does not jump anymore when defending corners

Agree0 Disagree0

Patchy? The only sides to lose fewer games than us are the two Manchester Clubs, Patchy?
Its not easy to win matches in this league what we are exceptional at is not lossing them. that's the first stepping stone, if we can then turn some of those off days where we get a draw in to wins we will be right up there. How that will happen? Strength in depth, the options to change things. Moyes has done grand, but for me his one failing is his use of substitutions, Barkley really could make an impact in the last 10 minutes of games, as could Velios and Oviedo with his pace, they are rarely utilised. Add to that another quality striker, centre mid and winger and we have a great squad not matter who is manager. Sinclair from City, Fer, and Negredo would take us to the next level. If Felli jumps ship Fer and another would be required.

Svenny

Not a good team? Are you serious? I'm not sure 'most Evertonians' think this.

if there is anything at all in real takeover talk, no better time to strike a deal than after beating the league champions. Hope some people with money were impressed!

I don't think it quite works like that mate.
