Daily Star have just claimed Chelski have agreed personal terms for Lukaku of £150,000 (a week I'm assuming).

It just gets better, out with those who see pastures elsewhere and bring in players who are prepared to get stuck in and build a team spirit, anything over £70 million and we could bring in two strikers and a centre half, cannot put up with another season of I want, I want, months ago losing Lukaku could have been unheard
of, now I think we will take the next level up with two out and out strikers and I for one will not be bothered losing a player who wants out.

Just wondering lads, I've seen the reports too that RL has agreed personal terms. If EFC have not agreed a fee with CFC yet then how have they been allowed to speak with the player? Surely CFC have "tapped up" the player?

{Ed025's Note - everton have not complained so the club must be compliant with the approach from chelsea RB, they seem to be doing things properly and it looks like we are resigned to losing him mate..

Anything above £70 million I thought we had put a £100 million price tag on him.

{Ed025's Note - that was done to try and ward off any suitors jc but is far from realistic, £70m seems about fair to me and if we get that and re-invest it in the squad then im happy with that mate..

i know it's unrealistic ed but but it hasn't really put the suitors off if they take him for say £70 mill.

we shouldn't throw around tapping up accusations like we are perfect. We have been done for it before and it's widely suggested that we we spreading to pickford for a while (Sunderland never complained because we paid them what they wanted). Tapping up is done by most clubs. Just most aren't stupid enough to do it the way the reds did with vvd.

It's funny how we want and fans want £100 Million for Lukaku, who in my opinion, if we get over £70 Million we have done well, yet when we get linked with players around £20 Million, suddenly it's too much for a player, well sorry, everyone wants a piece of the pie, cannot blame other clubs for adding a bit extra on players other clubs want. We can't buy players for peanuts but then sell for a kings ransom our players for sale. that's business, but I am sure Everton will come out the winners when the transfer window slams shut. Onwards and upwards Evertonians.

Just because we have not agreed a fee for him doesn't mean they haven't spoken to us. Probably their bid is a too low but not a million miles away. We all seemed to know Danny was coming before the fee was finalised, it just the way it works these days especially with agents involved too.

I hear mutterings we are interested in Moussa Dembele at another Everton record transfer fee. Just wondering if you could shed any light on this Celtic player. I just watched a video on him.

Ed. lots to be said about difference in competitiveness of both leagues. but that lad looks like he could slot in exactly where Rom would have otherwise been. he looks a class above in those clips. looks like a must of a 'gamble' to me. think he would terrify a lot of defences.

Ed, what's your opinion? Could Dembele and Lukaku play upfront together. Or would one of them cancel the other out. So it would be keep Lukaku or buy Dembele in replacement.

So Chelski on the verge of buying Lukaku and Bakayoko then for £150 mill. let's just hope Ibrahima Bakayoko the 1998 21/ 31 year old £4.5 Walter Smith super signing shows up.

In light of the Dembele transfer rumours is it likely that if Everton were to put a bid in, James McCarthy would be used as part of the deal?

Call me sceptical but I feel the price being quoted for a player who has only played at Championship level with Fulham and then Sunday league level at Celtic is quite high.
It could be a very expensive gamble with no real chance of recouping your outlay back.

I'm hoping for this deal gets done. I'm hoping we can part exchange some of players with it ie Niasse, McCarthy, McGeady, Besic. I just hope it's not at the expense of we have to sell Lukaku to buy him.

All due respect Mowfee YouTube makes Niasse look worth the 13mill we paid for him and we all know he ain't worth that, not having that after 1 season in a poor Scottish league he is worth in excess of 30mill.

Bluegray totally understand where you are coming from there. The top post with the video in the banter section I actually posted last night. Delay in the system lol. But I mentioned about youtube making people look great and that goals are goals. That's it. They are either poachers goals, tap in's or candidates for goal of the season. Watch the video I posted and make what you will of them. I for one think they were all pretty darn classy. But of course you are absolutely bang on if he turns out to be a complete flop then that is a lot of money wasted. But can't you say that with any player?
I for one hopes this deal happens anyway. Not because we sold Lukaku and we need another striker. My big concern is both Lukaku and Dembele are the main solo artists upfront with assistance from the wings and number 10. Could they play upfront together or would one of them cancel other out and that would be a disaster.

Fair point Mowfee but Lukaku is a goner so Dembele would be a replacement I would think, as I said I'm being sceptical in valuation based on experience but then suppose Mbappe is the same with his price being quoted for relevant inexperience.
