I love Cahill, got his name on the back of my shirt last 3 season's, but it's defo time for him to be left out !!!!
I personally would play Osman just behind Saha or Straqulersui alongside Saha.... Osman is soooooo much better in the middle in an advanced postion, he is the only player with a bit of creativity and very clever with his decision making when around the box Saha would relish it or the other option Straqulersui is big and strong and against Norwich won a lot of headers and held the ball up, again this would suit Saha because although Saha is getting a lot of crititism lately given the chances in front of goal he is still our best striker at the moment, its not working with Cahill anymore so a change is needed, Moyes needs to do his job properly and if that means dropping players who have been fantastic in the past then so be it..... it's called being a MANAGER !
Coyb ! 3 points is massive on wednesday {Ed025's Note - i like that post mate...well done!

Hiya ed..... Just want to post to all blues that go the match, i am a season ticket holder for the last 7 seasons and this season 's atmosphere in the ground has been awful !!!
Me and my fellow blues who go the game sit always try to start the atmosphere but no-one joins in, i know the football isn't great to watch at the minute, but the few times we build a atmosphere the players DO react.......
Let's do it more lads, starting on wednesday, nothing better than a night game at Goodison under the lights and the ground rocking. Swansea will sh*t themselves !!
Paul EFC {Ed025's Note - great post that paul!...as you say, goodison under lights is special....so come on blues..."lets be having you"

Believable4 Unbelievable0

It's a shame Moyes doesnt provide attacking football for us to get excited about then !
Markyg {Ed025's Note - lets see how he performs if we get some dosh marky!

Agree0 Disagree0

Hey Paul, you just persuaded me and my lad to go the match again after boycotting last Saturday due to our Stoke performance the other week.

Please please let us win.

Hey Ed, which of these sites are the most used? From what i've seen the Everton, Man Utd, Liverpool and Man City are used the most. It would be interesting to know which gets the most posts.

Breeno {Ed025's Note - liverpool breeno by far...the main site is the busiest, but as far as clubs go...deffo the reds.......mostly out of towners though..lol

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Would the Everton site be in the top 3 of the club sites?

Breeno {Ed025's Note - no mate...european place at best..

Right blues - I apologise in advance for the length of this but bare with me!

Please please please will some of you guys quit calling for Moyes' head! For a start - where would we be without him? Perhaps exactly where we are now but we would without doubt have 'done time' in the Championship and maybe struggled to get out, please see Leeds, Notts Forest, Sheff Weds and co. Granted none of them are as big as Everton but big clubs nonetheless.

Having said that - I wouldn't say that we should keep hold of a manager just because of his past record. Let's face it this season hasn't been good enough given the players at his disposal. I think 99% of Evertonians would agree with the next few points and please tell me if not! Tim Cahill is perhaps reaching the stage of his career when he will be best used off the bench, similar to Big Dunc towards the end of his career. I think with 20 minutes to go he could be a great impact sub. Ross Barkley is good enough to merit a more involved role in this side. At 18 he is no longer a kid and could provide that bit of spark we are missing. Especially when we are playing Neville in centre mid and he just isn't creative enough. 4-5-1 at home is far too defensive! If fit Royston, Rodwell and Barkley should be key members of this side!

Back to defending Moyesie - although I said earlier I don't want to focus too much on his past record, I mean in the sense of we can't just keep a manger for saving us a decade ago. However, only 3 years ago we were consistant 5th or 6th place finishers and had reached an FA Cup final, UEFA Cup quarter and a League Cup Semi! We were perhaps 2 or 3 players from breaking into the top four and staying there! Arteta, Felli, Pienaar, Jags, Cahill, Saha and the likes were scary! However, that was throuigh no fault of Moyes. That was Kenwright not seizing the opportunity and we are a long long way away from that top 4 now! This just goes to prove that give him money consistantly (and I am only talking £10-20m a season) and he will deliver a good side. Of course there have been the likes of Kroldrup and Bily but all managers are entitled to the odd dodgy signing! Ask Kenny Dalglish all about Andy Carroll or Ferguson about Djema Djemba, Kleberson and Veron!

It wasn't Moyes' decision to let Arteta and Pienaar go - that was the board! Anyway - I clearly need to get out more but it just pains me to see this power house of English football struggling so much.

Chin up though guys - if Moyes reads this in January he will play Drenthe, Fellaini, Rodwell and Osman/Donovan in midfield and Barkley just behind Saha/Donovan. You choose Davey lad!

See you all on Wednesday, let's bring back the atmosphere that no side likes to come up against!

COYB - Maiden {Ed025's Note - really good post maiden...the only vague point for me...is that you start with "please stop calling for moyes head"..then give us loads of reasons to do it?...other than that, i really enjoyed it!..

Believable3 Unbelievable1

I don't think they are reasons to sack him though mate - just that I can accept why some fans are fed up with him. Think it would be a huge mistake to get rid of Moyes' though as he has shown what he can do with a bit of money! Cheers for posting though mate - must take up half the banter page! {Ed025's Note - it was a good post...i am not advocating his sacking by the way...but can see why some fans are..

moyes gives drenthe back handed compliments like "if we had the ball all of the time Roy would be ok - but when we don't have the ball we need people who are going to win it back"
This is a nightmare comment from a guy who just wants to defend and win 1-0 or just draw games.
With comments like this moyes will lose drenthe for us.
Drenthe made a massive difference for us and if moyes can't see that he's heading for the sack eventually
moyes - you can stack your team with about 7 defenders but you need some attackers as wel that will open up the opposition.
Get a grip! {Ed025's Note - get a grip is right mate!..is he trying to get himself sacked?....he is really trying the patience of the supporters..

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Totally agree mate moyes cant see it when 35thou can so frustraten u need to take a chance an play with risks instead of SUPPOSELY playin it safe cos it aint workin an it really gettin me down now an i would honestly would rather he tryed 4 4 2 with straq an saha an took a chance 4 once i would accept it for tryin it out instead of the same an we chasin goals

If Moyes considers Drenthe a bit of a liability when he hasn't got the ball, why not play him in the roll Cahill usually occupies? I didn't see the match Saturday but I've read that Denis was fairly lively and was winning headers, holding the ball etc. Why on earth has he not been playing more regularly?

Saha and Cahill are about as potent up front as my grandparents!

Also how come Barkley wasn't even on the bench?

Why not play two up top with Drenthe, Osman, Rodwell and Felli in midfield {Ed025's Note - i would give royston a free role, he is not great defensively, and is full of flair and trickery, i think we can afford him to do it, i dont know if ross was injured?..but if not, i think its a disgrace he was not even on the bench..

Believable2 Unbelievable0

It would be great if royston had free role alltho i still think he can sort is stuff out coyb

Agree0 Disagree0

Its no wonder Cahill is not performing if he is occupying a roll - that would cramp anyone's style

Breeno {Ed025's Note - apparently breeno ...its true

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Pity, but we can't get them all I guess. Atleast we managed to get George Green and the Duffus brothers.

Breeno {Ed025's Note - our youth policy, and recruitment are excellent, we really need that ethos to be applied to the first team breeno..

Why am I seeing so many 'Kenwright Out' protests? Ok, so we do need a change in ownership as we cannot go on like this with no money, but who has thought about 'Steve Round Out'? We all know Moyes is no tactical genuis, but we don't need a number 2 that is happy to sit there and watch the negative, defensive, lifeless, predictable play EVERY week. We want someone who will nag and nag Moyes to play more attacking, encourage pass&move, not waste wages on a defender/keeper every transfer window and tell him to start making his strikers feel special. I mean, its not like we havn't had quality strikers over the years, its just that Moyes attacks them for working so hard the sweat doesn't drip no more, just 'cause they didn't score. We need a new assistant, and in a fantasy world I would love Sidnei Lobo, but in the real world... Alan Irvine? Leave your thoughts, and err, Merry Christmas everybody.

JM {Ed025's Note - good shout that JM, we are too defensive, and predictable! and for me tat adds up to bad coaching..

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Round out. Irvine back alongside Moyesey! {Ed025's Note - he does seem to be the common denominator of teams who play boring football...im in!

hi people, this isnt a rumours its more of a question. ive just been told my a mate that the "mystery shirt sponsor" is something to do with a take over bid( but think im being wound up tbh).........has anyone else know anything else about it.

merry christmas to all my fellow evertonians around the world.

Believable0 Unbelievable4

There is no mystery shirt sponsor, the shirts were to raise money for victims of the Thai floods. Chang are part of major businesses in Thailand raising releif aid money. The shirts were auctioned off after Saturdays match

Agree1 Disagree0

It was to show respect to the people in thailand last year mate... Its not a takeover

Great thing about the Xmas period is that a poor result like Saturday can be wiped from the memory very quickly, already excited bout the game Wednesday, will make Xmas so much better with an attacking team, good performance and positive result!

I wish all my fellow blues and in fact all readers of the site a happy christmas, and a prosperous new year!!

I love xmas time! Presents, food, drink, family and friends and loads of football :-) as for wednesdays game moyes has to start with the team that finished the game on saturday! But with saha partnering denis up top!
moyes knows that without those changes we would of lost against norwich so he must (surely he must!) Start with the team that given more time would of won at the weekend! Please please 442 moyes we want to win and win comfortably not go one down and chase the game Again!

Merry chritmas fellow blue noses and lets all hope for a happy new year :-)

I have to agree, the bloke was amazing in his prime and really turned a few games on their heads with his never-say-die attitude. Granted he may not be the most skillful but his attitude and will to win were/are there for all to see.

Right again im gna try an put my positive spin on things.. First of all ill take the easy option. We are not going to be relegated an il personally take anyones money who wants to disagree. Were going through a tough time but its more than a good bet that we will finish in the top 10. We have a good group of players which no one can argue against (other than the proven goal scorer which we need) we have one of if not the best youth systems including both the academies and scouting systems. we have a chair man who loves us and is being careful who he gets investment from (blackburn among others are an example of how important this is) i genuinely dont believe its because he is asking to much after all he has done for us he deserves my loyalty. As well as this we have a manager who is constantly linked with one of the biggest roles in world football. i for one will remain positive and not one person on this or any site will change this. Im everton until I die and my.belief in the club will still be there until then. Rant over.. Cropper

In my opinion against the swans the team should be

Howard
Hibbet-hitinger-distan-baines
Drente-rodwell-Barkley-guaye
Denis-Saha

Bench
Haniman
Jags
Fellaini
Colman
Macanly
Osman
Vellios

The reason I dropped jas is he has not been playing great and hitinger has been consistent and we have missed distans speed and power at the back
Plus start with drente and guaye with there speed and set peises also give Dennis a go he won everything in the air and he held the ball up against norwich
