Can't believe Giroud is happy always being on the bench. Like him as a player and would add goals to the team. Not the fastest but proven scorer when given good service.

I think with Giroud. If he leaves isn't that saying you're better than me, compared to him staying and competing face to face. I don't know just my opinion on how I would look at it if I was him.

Mowfee I agree, its not the competive attitude youd expect a player like giroud to have. Whos to say 100 percent he can't hold a regular place down as the season kicks on a bit. Youve got to accept comopetition these days its part of the game with teams needing strong sqauds not just a strong 11.

Everton should make a massive bid for Vardy he is proven and electric quick, why not?

It would make us a bit one dimensional, wouldn't get the nest out of rooney, klassen and sandro and if he's not scoring then he may start a revolution against Koeman like he did against Ranieri.
Not for me.

Mahrez is going - can't see them selling Vardy. Osaki seems to be more like the player Koeman is after. Think if they wanted vardy they would not have got Sandro. I think (hope) Sandro will be surprise package this season - tipping him for 15-20 goals.

Hardy not for me. deserves all the plaudits, but with lookman, Ramirez, calvert-lewin, mirallas and bolasie ( eventually) I think if we buy just one more player it should be a big no9 to replace Rom. and RK has always had a big no9 in his teams.

19 Aug 2017 14:26:36
Just wondered what other Blues intake is on this, we all know Niasse did not have the best of starts, but after a friendly and handful of games he has been dismissed by Koeman, no second chance regardless of his effort for the u23,s, something possible behind closed doors who knows, but he has never been able to redeem himself, yet we have a player in Jose Baxter who is on his third chance, whatever has gone on no player should be treated the way Niasse has, if we are giving Baxter a chance then surely until we get a striker, Niasse should have at least have been given the same opportunity.

Believable8 Unbelievable4

19 Aug 2017 18:30:14
On the outside looking in. niasse has been treated poorly in as far as he's not been given a chance. however, rk immediately made it clear that he was not good enough. and when u consider RM didn't give him a crack it tells u a lot about how he is regarded by the club as a footballer. personally I can't judge the guy as I've not seen enough of him. wet Jose Baxter. its a completely different scenario. he has the talent but a lot of well documented baggage. personally I think he is a very very fortunate boy.

19 Aug 2017 21:10:33
Which further shows how incompetent RM was given that it was him who spent £13.5m on Niasse.

I hope to god we go in for welbeck i think he would be an ideal striker for us the way we play he is tall an fast should go all out for him if we end up with him i would be over the moon.

Well he is playing today for Arsenal so not sure if they will give him up.

19 Aug 2017 18:10:41
Watching the Arsenal game and Welbeck is playing very well. He's fast, takes up good positions and his passing has been good so far. Exactly the type of center forward we need. Can't see any reason for Arsenal to release him, apart from maybe his injury history.

goals per game, 1 in 3/ 4, not good enough for a top striker, don't want him anywhere near our place.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Aug 2017 06:11:28
I love Danny but he never performed consistently for United and has spent most of most time at Arsenal injured. He's not that young any more so not sure how much better he can get,

You guys have bought very well, adding a very good striker would make you real contenders: I'm not sure that's Welbeck.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Aug 2017 09:25:28
We don't need a name we need a particular type of striker. Welbeck does not offer that. bive never been a big fan of welbeck, he's an awkard playerbin the way he plays as he doesn't seem to have all the asoects to be a great wing forward or cf. got talent but not the package and certainly not what we need in my opinion.

Why have I changed my mind today that we have a real chance of making a deal for Costa? I usually shy away from the delusional statements. The more I think about it, the more I think its a winner for all concerned.

He can't sit out a World Cup year can he? Athletico can't sign him and won't be able to afford him until he is a free agent. Chelsea have to get him out ASAP for the good of the team. We would be able to pay him, play him and give him incentive to want to go to the world cup and we would surely be a favourite then for top 4!

Im off to watch the local flying pigs display team in a bit.

Can't see him sitting out Blue as it is probably his last world cup at 28. I can't also see us getting him and not sure I would want his attitude.

As other people have said the photos of him on holiday show he's about the same size as Van Der Meyde was when we signed him. It would practically be January before he could play half an hour.

I would like to hope EFC are better than that. Costa has no place being supported by fans at any club. He is a total disgrace.
I would like Gibson or Sacko as centre half and benteke please.

Sell Lennon McCarthy naisse and besic -

FYI - just been to Sunderland match - Galloway not even good enough for championship. Browning not good enough. Vaughan was rubbish and kone no good. Have to say Mcgeedy was good but he is at his level.

Benteke and sacko please xx.

He will sign in January for atletico. We will have sign another striker then in the hardest window to buy. Let's think long term.

Costa should take a leaf out of Mahrez's book. He apparently wants the move to Roma but still puts in a shift each week rather than ruling himself out of games because of transfer talk.

20 Aug 2017 10:13:10
Signing Costa just is not going to happen and nor should we even want it to!

Completely the wrong player for EFC. Wrong attitude, he's not fit and he's a bad, bad apple.

Why is everyone so hell bent on us signing a striker btw? Sandro hasn't even played a full game yet and Rooney is a little short of sharpness, so will just get better and better. DCL is also worthy of a chance up top, given his performances in the WC and the minutes he's got in this season.

Have faith!

We need another Pierre for squad depth.

Fair enough except Costa didn't want to leave, he was asked not to come back. So to compare him with Mahrez is a little odd.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Aug 2017 13:57:34
Compare him to Niasse, told he was not wanted and not even given a locker and he has kept his mouth shut got his head down and got on with it.

Am I the only one who thinks that the modern fashion of a minute's applause before matches rather than a minute's silence in remembrance of someone's passing away or a tragedy is in part due to past experiences of a few disrespectful ****s shouting during the silence? I'm not talking about applause at times during matches where the number of the minute in the match relates to a specific event or person, but rather when it's just before kickoff. I know that these commemorations have always been impeccably observed by the Everton fans at Goodison Park - and I would have expected no less.

I M H O we need a striker and Danny Welbeck is more of a provider, this is borne out by his goal tally .
We need a traditional EFC centre forward i. e. DEAN LAWTON HICKSON PICKERING GRAY SHARPE and Co
Who this is I do not know .
Who knew of Jamie Vardy, so it could be a unknown but a centre forward would take us to another level
It's not so much how good they are but the actual position .
Good players around him ( whom we have now in abundance ) would help him enormously.
Who could it turn out to be?

Well Trebor we only have two weeks or less to find out who it will be. Maybe nobody and we have to rely on the players we have. I believe that the days of buying someone on a crises basis on the last day of the transfer window is long gone.

Looking back at the last two games, I can see Rooney's worth. His header was fantastic against Stoke, but I didn't realize it was he who started the whole play with a chest and a touch to the back, then a quick touch pass mid way, and then the header.

Against our Slovakian opponents, yes his footwork and quick pass to Gana made the second goal, but on the first goal he made a great run to the near post, drawing a couple of players with him, allowing Baines' cross to reach Keane.

So far, so great.

I already printed and framed Waynes' celebration slide, and posted it upon the wall at my office, labeling the picture simply, " Nil Satis Nisi Optimum".
