if you look at last seasons bad start the main reason was lack of goals, even when the boys played well they didnt get goals at crucial times, but look at the goal scoring options we have got now. exciting times coyb.thgfest

Believable2 Unbelievable1

I'm all for talkin up the blues and do think we'll surprise a few people this year, but look at united's front line, there's a reason Owen was moved on. If Moyes wants to sit him on the bench in case of injuries that's fine by me as long as we don't have to pay him if he don't play.

Hello Eds and fellow blues,

Can I just throw in a vote of thanks to a great site, not only the Eds but all of the contributers/posters who take their time to log on and pass on their snipits of information.

For a long time there were just a few regulars myself, degsybluenose, Tristan to name but a few, but now there are loads of us and lots of you are logging in and leaving a name, which is an aid to the eds iin identifying r/s infiltrators and impersonators.

Keep it up blues I think there will be plenty to keep us going throughout the season and not just during the transfer window.

Is there really a point in getting Adam Johnson? We already have Osman, Mirallas, Naismith, Gueye and Barkley who can already play on the wing.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

So you'd rather have Osman, Naismith, Barkley and Gueye on the wing than an England international? Behave, do you want us to finish 5th or 9th?

Agree0 Disagree0

Being an England international is hardly a ringing endorsement, and he was pretty poor in the friendly against Italy. Still, would be happy if he came.

George

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Safe journey George. And if anyone boos anyone in Blue then they are on drugs. To boo someone on the first game of the season would mean they have tried to force a transfer, etc, and no Blue has done that.

Personally, the only one who could, and I don't think he should, is Rooney.

He still loves Everton and is still a Blue. I don't blame him for moving - although I think it'd have been better for him, and us, if he stayed for at least another year. The only thing he did is kiss the United badge at Goodison. Although that was as disrespectful as you can get, I don't think he meant it.

Anyway enough about Rooney.

What could be so bad in signing Owen he could nick a few goals and would be a great influence in the dressing room and the young strikers and even jelavic could learn from him he may not have that pace anymore but still hasn't lost the ability to finish and his intelligence to get into goal scoring positions is top notch and if there is any local lads wanting to become sport phscios then they could possibly get some decent work experience

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Come off it Mike, yes the over confidence give you away, the youngsters may learn but the Jellyman? And if you are that desperate to join us go talk to Bill and Davie, coming on here isn't going to help your case.

He's gonna choose the team which is right for him... for example: sunderland have larsson on the right who i can't see them dropping and mclean on the left who is pacey and good.. however, i think o'neill would choose johnson over mclean which would leave mclean unsettled... then we could possibly get mclean on the cheap... just my view, he can play on the right aswell

i am a liverpool fan but just a little post on how bad the game of football has become. already, fans of clubs have got there managers under pressure, us with rodgers, mark hughes, chris houghton, avb. im a season ticket holder who has been to the 4 corners of the earth following liverpool and i enjoyed every minute of it, but now the game has changed for the worst so much. to many fans now havent got a clue about football its a social event for alot of people . every club has got alot of good knowledgable fans and you find most are working class people, not all but most. but football now has virtually been took away from us. most fans up and down the country cannot afford to go the game now and as for taking our kids to its just impossible, so more and more the working class man is being squeezed out the game. so in a few years time it will be 80percent corparate or as roy keane said the prawn sandwich brigade. i no by speaking to alot of fans and workmates that they are coming to the end of there love for the game. we work 50 sometimes 60 hours a week really struggle to keep are heads above water, like most in the country. i live by the ground and struggle payin my morgtage but if rooney and van persie put one weeks wages together they could buy are whole side of the street ! fottballers now are so far from the fans its ridiculous, i dont blame them for the wages they get cos anyone in there right mind would work for as much money as they could get. but clubs need to do something before it really is to late and the working man and his kids walk away from the game. sent this post to most clubs sites and would be grateful for peoples thoughts, thanks. {ed025's note - i enjoyed reading that post mate, and agree with a lot of what you say....unfortunately, with this being the everton page, a lot of our readers will see this as sour grapes, as all this was not mentioned when you were lording it up at the top, add to that some of the vitriolic abuse that is given between both sets of supporters, im not too sure that this is the correct forum for sympathy....but i wish you all the best..

A Big thanks to Bill Kenwright and David Moyes for 10 years of stability and good running of the club. Trying at times but you've retained our integrity and history whilst all around have sold their souls and clubs to the highest bidders. Can't wait for this season, potentially the season when all the hard work comes together. Top 4 I reckon. Best team for years JP

Believable15 Unbelievable2

Well you are easily pleased. {Ed025's Note - i have to say mate...i was very pleased yesterday...how you have the audacity to come on our site, really does beggar belief!!..you have just been thrashed, by a team who see relegation as a inevitability...you should really be hanging your head in shame, and asking your club a lot of questions, as to how your club have fallen from grace, and are in danger of becoming the laughing stock of the prem..

Agree0 Disagree0

Hear hear, mate. It baffles me when I see Everton fans having a bitch and moan about our Bill; we all know he loves the club but he's not a billionaire, and so protesting and having 'Kenwright Out' banners at games isn't going to do anything but embarrass our fan-base. Regarding our transfer policy and the way we play our football, we are one of, if not the most respected sides in the PL and so we need to maintain that by proving that we are the best supporters in the world by getting behind the club and it's staff by showing our support at the games and raising the metaphorical roof off every stadium we go to! Bring on Man U and the rest of the season! COYB!!

Ed25 you are often great and your wisdom and humour is fantastic. But please stop saying every post you disagree with is a RS. We have thousands of fans who all are allowed their own opinion, right or wrong, without been insulted in such a derogatory way (after all there is no greater insult than been called RS). I am not having a go, but just want to say maybe you shouldn't call everyone you disagree with a RS. Saying that though I love Bill and to put up with the s**t he gets makes me love him even more!

Cez {Ed025's Note - i dont call anybody R/S cez, unless i feel that they are, i think you may be getting me mixed up with someone else mate...there have only been a few instances when this has happened, and it only occurs when the poster fails to leave a name, or is trying to trash the good name of the club, which leads me to believe he is not an everton supporter..

Got to be enthusiastic at the start of this year. Know it could be another opportunity to be disappointed but it feels good now. Here is the problem, Moyes who doesn't lie, may not say everything, but doesn't lie says, may need to send out Barkley and Vellios on loan to get time. Fine but Mirallas (great) and Niang (a 17 year old cover) so Barkly and Vellios can get time in Championship, it doesn't add up. Me thinks we might get one more surprise. I didn't realise just how important this new sky deal is with the prem league. A 70% increase in tv money for all clubs. If we are just about breaking even now, which we pretty much are looking at companies house accounts, then does this mean we could have at least £10m a season to sign players? And that's taking into consideration about £20m a year will no doubt go to the bank. Anyway, point is we may have more money to spend for years to come! Without needing to sell. Just another positive anecdote to add to the obvious ones of this transfer window.

Great signings this summer. I couldn't be happier. It is fair to say that the premier league will be very concerned with the obvious message being sent out by our club this summer.

Rodwell starting for city alongside Toure

I doubt he would be starting for us tomorrow night if we still had him so it says something about Fellaini and Gibson in the middle. Add to that our three new creative midfielders from Naismith, Pienaar and Mirallas... and our defence which has been our strongest part of our game for several seasons now.

I believe I posted on here last summer saying that Everton would invest in the team if they absolutely had to. Whilst we had to sell Rodwell in order to generate funds for new players, I am pleased that (some of) the money has been invested back into the squad with the possibility of more players coming in. I think the way Everton have gone about their signings this summer has been dignified, professional and also exciting for the fans. I have made negative comments about Kenwright in the past, but I hold my hands up this summer and admit he has done a fantastic job to back Moyes in the transfer market. Still a lot of doubts to rectify with the fans however, onwards and upwards for Everton and maybe a hope of Europe this season so we can get some more money through the door!

I will admit 12 months ago I was very much unhappy with BK and the board regarding the lack of investment. But these last 6 months I can't praise them more for how they've conducted themselves and the support they've given Moyes in the transfer market. Sure we don't have City's billions but bringing in Gibson, Pienaar and Jelavic (lets face it they changed our season) and now Naismith and Mirallas. Rodwell leaving was a necessary evil, he is injury prone and we got good money for him, he may turn out to be a great player but it's unlikely being on the Man City bench. Personally I think they've done a fantastic job and they have my full support.

Believable9 Unbelievable0

100% agree, "quiet dignity" I think would be an apt phrase to be used here. Look at the carnage at Ewood, the destruction of Pompey and the total misalignment between club and owners at Analfield.....foreign owners?. Forget it. While I acknowledge and understand some the anti BK views, in my

As well as everything you said, he also pulled off a master stroke by convincing Fellaini to sign a new long term deal. I was reading rumours his dad agent wasn't happy. I bet BK is excellent at that side of things, making players feel welcome and wanted. We paid big money for him and Felli did owe us, but he could easily have walked to a champs league side for nothing. Instead we have him for 5 years or get huge money for him if he does ever leave.

Does anyone else think we should add another centre-back this transfer window? Don't know why, but I saw a post where someone listed out our whole squad, and. I think we look a bit weak at the back.
Sorry if you disagree, but I honestly think we need to add another top class centre-back.

On a different note, does anyone else think Moyes badly missed out on Michu? Looked amazing yesterday, scored two goals on his debut and only cost 2 million. Did we actually show any interest in him?

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Michu did look good but with jags johnny distin and young guys like duffy i think we are pretty solid at the back

OK Mirallis is a done deal but were still being linked with a number of players , niang, matt philips, charlie adam, and the latest matt jarvis, the cost of all of them would be around 24mill could this mean a sale is already planned or is there new money invested no news came out after the AGM and its gone quiet on the earle share sale could it be Moyes keeping his cards close to his chest and new investment is in place, I hpoe this is the case. thgfest {Ed025's Note - keep dreaming mate..

Even with my total love for Everton Football Club, I still find it difficult to find anything these days to really excite me, (Apart from Melanie Sykes, obviously, Ed025!). However, I've been watching the Youtube videos of Kevin Mirallis, and wow, what a player he looks! Now the news has been confirmed that he's signed, I am asolutely fecking delighted. OK, I know some people will say that you can't judge from Youtube, & that he was playing in the greek league, but some of his finishing & skills were amazing. He seems to be able to sidefoot finish with stunning power & accuracy.
I am really looking forward to seeing him in the famous blue jersey at Goodison. I'm more optimistic this year than I've been for decades. Let's just hope & pray that we can keep hold of Bainsey & I predict a fabulous season to come. COYB!

Hey ed any info on whether mirallas will be coming today or tomorrow? Also I read utd may still bid for baines and arsenal could go for felli if they lose song! With us already having a small squad and having already sold 2 first team players plus theres only a couple of weeks left of the window so little chance of replacements do you think kenwright would consider the idea or will moyes just ask him to reject any offer that comes in for them! They are both very important players for and losing either one would be a big blow for us! {Ed025's Note - i expect baines, and felli to stay...mirallas is expected today or tomorrow, but i expect today..

Cant see United, who's recent share flotation highlighted their financial problems, they put all their eggs in one basket with RVP not just the transfer but his wage demands too, having the funds for Baines. The transfer of Liège is officially recorded. All parties have agreed and passed the medical tests.

Belga
Party Saturday morning in Athens, where he moved to Olympiakos, to Liverpool, once the agreement between the two clubs endorsed (7.6 million bonus), the Red Devil has passed medical tests that will lead this Sunday, on a 4 year contract.

In the scheme of David Moyes, manager of Everton in Brussels this Wednesday to see Mirallas then talk with him, Mirallas could evolve on the left wing attack but also in support of Jelavic in the 4-4-2 .

13 Belgians in the Premier League
The Premier League now has a 13th Belgian, a Red Devil ninth in its ranks. After Vincent Kompany, Boyata Dedryck, Marouane Fellaini, Eden Hazard, Jan Vertonghen, Thomas Vermaelen, Romelu Lukaku, Simon Mignolet, Moussa Dembele, Yassine El Ghanassy, Stede De Ridder, Marnick Vermijl is indeed Kevin Mirallas who joined more great world championship.

Just watching the Sunday Supplement on Sky and the pundits reckon Leighton Baines will join ManUtd. If he does and he hasn't come out publicly to seek the move - in other words BK and DM decide to take the money - then that'll be it for me. Fifty years of (great) ups and (much more often) downs with me being a fan wil be culminated by the realisation that we're a club with a history but no ambition. Don't give me any 'be positive' rubbish - it'd be time at long last for a reality check. Oh dear...

That's a strong squad! Experience, Youth, Pace, Creativity, Goals, International class players and hard workers all over.
