That lad Adeniran looked decent. Quick and strong with an eye for a pass. Could be one for the first team in a year or so.

There is some good talent right the way through the youth squads. Tomorrow is the perfect time to blood a couple if them like Kenny. They're still really young and they need protecting. I'm already starting to get worried for Davies as in the stands they are starting to get on his back a bit.

Hopefully, we realise they are young and going to make mistakes and are given a chance.

If Klassen and Rooney do not start tonight or Schneiderin, but Tom Davies does, watch a vast improvement on Tom Davies, for me Davies and Guaye were box to box players last season, that is their strength, for what it's worth this season we have been too congested just in front of the back four and attack, with that, Davies and Guaye are not getting as much room to play to their strengths, which in turn is the players making short passes instead, I could be wrong but that's my view of it.

1st off may I take this opportunity to apologise to johny1989 for calling him a blurt yesterday on the chat. I was out of order.

On the game I thought for 70 minutes yesterday we played well and it was a massive improvement on anything else we've produced this season.

Finally some aggression, composure and fight was shown by these players this season which for me has been the biggest disappointment. Forget who we should have got and tactics or managers selections. This has been the single reason I have been angry with us. No matter who you have on that pitch if you don't play with this then you won't win games.

The dogs of war had a bunch of players that were second rate and had no quality compared to mid table teams never mind the elite. However, Royle built them into fighters and gave them the instruction to win the first battle on that pitch with no prisoners taken.

After we won this we played football and good football at that. How good? Take a look at the semi-final against Spurs in 95.

That sheer will to put pressure on the team you're playing without pause has been the biggest influence in this poor run. That is the players fault 110%. Not one of them deserves exemption.

Before you say I'm defending Koeman I'm not. In fact he has magnified the problems with players in the wrong positions like DCL at right wing, no width, perstence of playing Williams and Jags yet Holgate deserves a chance in that position and the use of 3 at the back drives me insane. Plus a list as long as my arm I could go on about.

I am right on the fence with him. However, we had the same issue last season up until Xmas. We then turned a corner and were in the mix for a top four. I won't give him till then but I will give him the next month to turn things around.

I understand we have a large number of players in and out and maybe bedding them in against Man city, Chelsea, Spurs and United is not the easiest things to do but at least put players in positions and formations they are comfortable in.

So a month. He and the team deserve that. I'm not wanting all victories. I believe this is a good team and squad. It means nothing though if you are not committed in every game and to each other. If they show this and are angry and aggressive the quality will come through and we'll win far more than lose.

Some of you lot make me physically sick. Calling for koemans head already. We all wanted Koeman, we got him. We all wanted a big transfer window, we got it! Give the team time . If every team could put a price and buy the prem title instantly they everybody would win it. You can't make a silk blanket with a pigs ear and you can't make an omelette without cracking a few eggs. These bad games are the eggs! Get behind him and the team as the negativity doesn't help anybody!

Not wanted by all. So who were the ones that didn't want him expecting? Mourinho, Pep? Who would we of realistically got or would of wanted to come to us that would of done a better job. You can't say 'I didn't want him' and not say who the alternative would be. No manager is loved by all supporters.

I think when he said all he meant majority, and I'm one that's backing him, we all raved when after Martinez first season and ended up with same fans slating him in the end, were Everton and we back are managers not call for there head after 5 games, if we sack Koeman now then that will be the start of our soul going from Everton.

For the record Truebluemetz79 I never wanted Martinez even after his first season I wasn't sold on him. In Koeman case at the time of appointment I thought he was the possible manager we could get available for the job.

I may be proved wrong of course but 5 games in is too far too get rid. Look how long Martinez lasted in a disastrous regime. Koeman and co as bad as it seems at the moment is nowhere near as bad as when Martinez left.

Upon reflection and reading the many posts since yesterdays defeat I have to ask myself are some of the posters on here actual evertonians or just bored fans from other clubs posting stuff that makes no real sense and is actually quite embarrassing to the average blue nose.
People are calling for the head of Koeman and while it is difficult to take any positives out of the last four games we have to remind ourselves of the following:
1. We have purchased almost an entire new team this season - many of whom have never played in the PL before.
2. Our heroic youngsters have come ok of a hectic and tiring summer.
3. The newly formed team played only ONE competitive PL game before facing, Man City away, Chelsea away, Tottenham and Man Utd away. throw into the mix a difficult trip to Italy and is it any wonder we have had the results we've had?

Yes I believe we should have done an awful lot better in Italy but this was a tricky tie when confidence was low - we also need to remember that the competition is a league at this stage and not knock out so no need to panic just yet.

We have a run of 6 games which are all highly winnable. let's see what the reaction is after those games.

I really cannot believe that people are calling for Koemans head and asking for David Unsworth. REALLY?

The biggest disappointment for me is that the club clearly knew months ago that Lukaku was going and probably where - so why o why did we not make an out and out goalscorer our first signing?
I hear that Giroud's wife didn't fancy the North West yet look at the world class players down the M62 - no issues for them! I'm a little peturbed if i'm honest - BUT it means that we will have reinforcements in 3 months time providing we halt the performance and turn the confidence around.
Positives - new striker in January?, Coleman, Bolaise, 4 top teams out of the way, 6 winnable games coming up, still in all 4 competitions (albeit one probably out of reach now! )
Let's get behind the manager and the team and leave the Unsworth shouts for when the U23;s are playing!

Believable1 Unbelievable3

{Ed025's Note - i admire your optimism nev and not everyone is calling for ror his head mate, but its the way we are setting up and lack of direction and enthusiasm that has got supporters worried, yes we have many new faces but these are apparently top notch players and should be able to play at a reasonably high standard, truth is they are not and when all is said and done thats the job of the manager, yes hes getting flack and some of it deserved but im with you that we need to see how things go for now with some winnable games on the horizon, then i think we can make a more informed judgement..

18 Sep 2017 19:38:23
Ed, I think they deserve more time, regardless of how frustrated I am that we a) need some centre half cover ( despite loaning out Pennington, browning and Galloway) all of whom deserve a crack in place of Williams imo b) didn't replace Rom c) give the youngsters a go. Which is my main point / question. A good test of our u23 squads metal, i. e. niasse, lookman, Kenny etal, would be a game against koemans first 11.does that ever happen? It could force his hand!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - in training it might jcl, i hope he gets a bit of time to sort it out as well mate but things have to change pretty quickly..

Agree2 Disagree0

18 Sep 2017 19:55:40
Ed agreed. it needs sorting very quickly. they need two great performances this week. and two wins otherwise a lot of supporters will sink their teeth in. i'm a little more philosophical tbh. I'm still positive it'll turn around. I think sacking a manager so early with such a changed squad sends a terrible message and won't solve big problems at CB nor CF. But I'm sure rk, df, du and SW will be putting their heads together this week and working to resolve. it's his (RKs) reputation on the line here, and he doesn't strike me as a chap that gives up easily.

Right blues we are all intitiled to our own opinion, mine is Koeman is the wrong man for the job I know it's only early but to be honest I can't see this Man being able to turn this around he is too stubborn and there is something wrong in that dressing room I say sack him and bring in unsworth for the rest of the season I can't ever remember watching Everton that bad even under Martinez I'm sick of all the excuses he spent a lot of money and we look worse I'm sorry blues but he has to go it's not working.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i get your frustration stef but its a bit early in the piece for that imo mate, you may be proven right in the end but we need to see how it goes for a bit..

18 Sep 2017 11:41:35
I think you have a short memory steff it was worse under Martinez at the end, we are all really frustrated after what was a good pre season in terms of incomings, and the poor start we have made I the league. RK has to adapt and quickly but the board will keep faith with him.

Agree4 Disagree0

18 Sep 2017 11:43:56
Agree with you Ed at the moment. Next four matches are critical. In trouble after these games then he has to go. Can't see past Unsworth for me. At least give him a go, he is Everton through and through and can't do much worse with team selection or player moral.

Agree2 Disagree0

18 Sep 2017 12:46:25
As we're talking opinions here's mine. Don't sack Koeman, be patient. The combination of a very tough start fixtures wise plus the need to make this new team gel has put us where we are. I do think that we all saw new signings and thought big. That was a bit silly of us myself included. We had a bad patch last season after a promising start, got through it and started to look very good after that.

Before we start to put Unsworth in the job, ask why Big Dunc who is also Everton through and through not making a difference here either.

Our Board will be firmly behind the manager right now, you can guarantee that. So will I be until there comes a time when it's outrightly proven he can't take us further. I don't think we are at that point yet.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Sep 2017 13:50:27
Sorry boys but I lost all confidence in that man he seems to be the one causing the trouble his tactics are awful and negative playing player out of position getting hammered every week defending is awful you defend him if you want but my faith is lost in him.

Agree1 Disagree3

18 Sep 2017 15:39:26
Stef just my opinion where it has gone wrong lies solely with the manager, he has done everything to make this his own team, Barkley publically slated the player, same with Niasse, he let Stones leave and brought n Williams, he let Lukaku go without replacing the guy, it will not be long before we have no player left from our previous managers, he then takes a swipe at the under 23s, plays too many similar players congested just in front of the back four, it's a case of getting back to basics, get a balanced team starting and not out of position, if he does not put Niasse, Lookman or Kenny at least in the squad on Wednesday then I feel it will get worse before it gets better and could be the end for Ronnie, he has a number of winnable games coming up, take a gamble with Niasse, use Lookman for his pace, play a balanced side, simple as that.

Agree3 Disagree0

18 Sep 2017 22:27:00
I think Ronnie must have read my post neither Niasse Lookman or Kenny was in the under 23 squad tonight, give me 20 grand a week Bill I'm available 24/ 7 lol.

18 Sep 2017 11:06:29

{Ed025's Note - tough call either way skylark, some will say its not evertons fault so why should the team be punished?

18 Sep 2017 18:52:39
I cannot condone Rooney offfield antics but I personally cannot see Rooney having such a clause, if he feels he is not doing enough he would be the first to put his hand up for the good of the team, for those slating Rooney the guy is playing well, it's not his fault he has to keep turning backwards due to no supporting team mates up with him, he needs someone up there with him, too many times he's isolated when he has the ball and in doing so he is dropping back, he's all over the pitch even at left back, get someone in who can match Rooney in attack and leave the defending to others, no wonder the guy is knackered, he's covering for at least 3 team mates.

Who would everyone like to see against Sunderland?

Personally I would give all of the fringe players a chance.

My team would be:
Pickford
Kenny Holgate Keane Baines
Besic Davies
Lennon Klaassen Lookman
Niasse

You could possibly interchange Sandro and Niasse and Lennon with Mirallas or Vlasic but I think it would be nice to play those two for a run out and gives a better youth/ experience balance.

Four home games coming up, let's see what happens and then we can judge better as to how we are progressing. RK has stated in his interview yesterday he thinks the team should finish same position as last season 7th. There is a lot of work to be done now to achieve that.
Let hope tactics change and we become more attacking and balanced in our approach, we have pace but are not using it, the over defensive system has not worked!
Round pegs in square holes how it seems at times, I know the list of players was drawn up well in advance of the season, we knew Rom was going yet nothing materialised in the form of a replacement, Barkley wanted to go, yet we bought three number tens in Rooney, Klassen and Sigurdsson! and are now trying to fit them all in.
We need a good shake up, results will improve confidence so this week a win is a MUST!

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - im not giving up on koeman just yet wakka, we all knew with that many new faces it would take time, im with you that the lack of pace needs addressing and cant understand why lookman is not getting a shot mate..

18 Sep 2017 10:03:29
I agree Ed025 not sure why he isn't at least brought on to add pace, I like the look of the lad Vlascic as well seems confident on the ball and willing to take on defenders.
RK has to be given time, it is a work in progress and it has been an unusually tough start in the teams we have played so far.

So I arrive at his dorm and his room mate is a MU supporter and is watching the game on TV. It is 1-0 for them and we stay in the room 15 minutes tops and when we left it was 4-0. Was very critical of our display in italy, but dispite the scoreline today, their was a very real improvement.
Giver results, it would have been ease to capitulate afder conceeding an earley goal, but the stuck at it and, until Williams comitted suiside, we looked like the team most likley to get the next goal.
Don't go in for personal abuse, but if we are going to play out from the back, there is no place for Williams, he simply does not have the quality to play that type of game and that has been evadent long before today.
Finally, unt are likely to win the prem this year, and, on their own growned, and a goal start, we boss the game for long spells, time to hold our nerve.
