I agree we have a good mix. If we continue to do well and moyes gets to spend a chunk of the arteta money in January then i am optimistic of building a team that can challenge for trophies, we must show our better players that we are still looking to compete with the big 4

The move to 4-4-2 formation was key in yesterdays game. Totally put Wigan on the back foot and allowed our superiority to take effect. We have two strikers in denis and velos that could lead our line well. Drenthes pace and interlinking with baines is going to be great as well
Believable2
Unbelievable1
Good subs and a tactical switch from Moyes won yesterdays game, moyes is the man!!
Agree2

Vellios will surley be involed much more after his last two substitute appearances, i think denis is worth a run in the team as well

Every sub helped to change the game in our favour. Take note David. We need roy, denis and velios to start the next few games
Believable1
Unbelievable0
I would like to see osman and billy on the bench for the next game with drenthe and velios taking their places {Ed025's Note - i thought osman did ok on saturday..
Agree0
Disagree3
Neville seems to be out of the picture as well, we seem to be a better team without him
Agree1
Disagree2
Neville was out for one game, them the team played well, so he left it unchanged, the reason saha wasnt even in the subs!
Agree3
Disagree0
Spot on ed regarding osman, he is playing well as he did for the latter of last season, also neville is a natural leader so we will also need him for some games like manu utd, red s**te etc - degsy
Agree2
Disagree0
WHAT ? Why does Osman always become a fall guy for some fans. He's been one of our best player's since January and carried it on into this season.
Can i ask mate, do you go the match ?
Agree1
Disagree0
Osman is probably the most technicaly gifted players at the club

Fuham came back from 2-0 down to get a draw with man city! So there still vunrable in defence! We can do this :-) {Ed004's Note - Question to the Everton fans, in your opinions who will be the better player Ross Barkley or Jack Rodwell?}
Believable0
Unbelievable0
Ed 4, i think barkley is going to be a star, he looks to have the same confidence as rooney did when he first broke through, a box to box player and very talented. Rodwell will be quality with a run of games and his partnership with fellaini is very promising in midfield, barkley edges it for me. whats your team ed4? {Ed004's Note - I am not going to be liked, but I support Man Utd. However I have huge respect for Everton, would be my 2nd choice team in the BPL}
Agree0
Disagree0
Nice one ed4, i have no problems with man u {Ed004's Note - I thought Everton fans hated Man Utd due to the Rooney saga?}
Agree0
Disagree1
Things have eased on the rooney saga, i think it is the mutual hatred of liverpool ed. We were linked with valencia last week.Any chance do you think ed? {Ed004's Note - I don't think so, he is an important player here, and is the type of fellow who doesn't not mind being part of squad rotation and you are garunteed and good performance and hard work rate from him}
Agree0
Disagree0
Barkley for me ed 4, the lad is going to be a star,rodders is still quality though {Ed004's Note - Do you think both will start for England? There are a lot of other good midfielders coming through, Cleverley, Wilshere, Chelsea midfielder, Morrison ect}
Agree0
Disagree0
Rodwell will proabably make the fringes of the squad in the short term, but as for barkley it depends on how he progresses, if moyes uses him well and he continues to progress he is in with a shout, he tries a bit too hard at times and just needs first team experience, good result for you lot today ed. {Ed004's Note - Chuffed with it, could have been more, but what a miss from Torres}
Agree0
Disagree0
Hey ed4, I support Man Utd aswell but like to see Everton doing well.
I support both teams really
Agree0
Disagree0
Whats all that got to do with the original post? But as you asked ill say barkley looks the better of the 2.
Agree0
Disagree0
Rodwell has looked good this season so far. Barkley looks good as well would love to see Rodwell Barkley and Felli in the same sqaud, think it would be a very strong heart of the team, but dont think we will be seeing it for a while a few very hard games coming up?

We'd be third if we win our game in hand with spurs, it's not all gloom and doom then.... {Ed025's Note - it certainly is not..

We have plenty of room for optimism, i think we will be comfortably competing for the europa league places and hopefully a good cup run thrown in there as well

This would be my team for Man City:
Howard
Coleman Jagielka (C) Distin Baines
Barkley Fellaini Heitinga Drenthe
Vellios Stracqualursi
Subs: Mucha Neville Osman Cahill
Saha
I had Beckford 16 on the back of my away shirt got it changed before, I got R.R.
Drenthe 10 on the back. I would have got Stacqualursi but I'm XLB so it won't
fit on the back of my shirt. {Ed025's Note - just get ...DENIS..
Believable0
Unbelievable1
4-4-2 with two recognised strikers would be great and go at city, as we have showed in previous meetings that we have nothing to fear against them.

What do ye think of this idea?
January Transfer Window
Sell:
Victor Anichebe
Adam Forshaw
Buy:
Conor Clifford (Chelsea) - Loan
Robbie Brady (Man Utd) - Loan
Make Straculuisa deal permanent with Anichebe and Forshaw money
Plus make one of the loan deals permanent in Summer transfer window + make Drenthe move permanent in Summer transfer window
We should surely sell Anichebe to a Chapionship club who are pushing for promotion
Believable0
Unbelievable3
Are you stoned?
forshaw - not even a mil, hot prospect for the future.
clifford & brady - wont get near our first team.
denis - you havent even seen him play yet, and your already saying you want to buy him.
your s**t, g'bye
Agree2
Disagree0
Forshaw-hasn't broken into first team yet, won't start ahead of Barkley, Fellani, Rodwell, Osman, Cahill, Coleman, Drenthe
Anichbe-hasn't scored a goal since when?, won't start ahead of Saha, Vellios, Cahill, Straculuaisi. Silva and Baxter will be closer to the starting XI
Straculuaisi- top scorer in Argentine top division, would be starting international if they didn't have Aguero, Higuain, Teves, Cavenaghi, Messi etc.
Conor Clifford- great young player not been given a chance at Chelsea when is good enough because they just buy in the players
Robbie Brady- star of the Ireland u21 (i think) team that reached a European Semi or Quarter Final before losing to Spain u21. Not going to be given the chance he deserves in Man Utd team
Also Clifford and Brady are both better than Forshaw so how am I stoned then? {Ed025's Note - you seem to know your stuff..

It was all doom amd gloom a few weeks ago, admittedly its not great but 7 points from a possible 12 is pretty good, performances have been a bit scattered but when we play well we look really good! Individual errors have costed us goals, drenthe and denis look like they will be more than useful for us this season, velious looks good aswell, could possibly lose felli in january but it wouldnt be the end of the world would get a good price for him, but if he joins arteta at arsenal then he will be taking a sidewards step! They look awful cnt see them finishing in the top 10 on recent performances but we shall see, beat west brom on wednesday to give us a 5 match unbeaten run and confidence for the city game, hopefully saha and drence will start! Coyb! {Ed025's Note - nice post mate..

Ed, what did u think of Wigan game? love and respect Moysey and have complete trust, but as a manager he could take it to the next level if he just had some balls at kick off, esp v bottom half?... Next 3 League games City, Sh*te and Chelsea, would love to see Moysey grow and show off those balls:
Howard
Coleman, Jag, Distin, Baines
Fellaini, Rodwell
Barklay, Osman, Drenthe
Velios ...
Or even better, Saha/Straq in for Osman, 442. But bit harsh on Osman since hes been one of our best players for last 6 months... Cant see him playing that team, but am dreaming for 9 points from those games... imagine that.... But would take 4 now (With 3 off the Scum), thatl be pretty tough. Saha? Wots ur take on that? Weird outburst, happy hes actually fit & angry tbh. But it looked more desperate what he said. Hope he doesnt retire, he claims he has come close before: If fit hes just gotta play... on his day, still up there with the best.
COYB
JayF {Ed025's Note - love that first side jay...that would be my pick!....i agree with you that david should show his balls, and play 4-4-2. on the wigan game...i thought we were better than the telly suggested!,,and on saha, im glad he,s angry, i want players fighting for the shirt, the one thing i will say, is that we must convert more chances, at times we can be so dominant in the game, but dont kill teams off!...thanks for the post it was really good..

If any1 shud b dropped from that team 4 another striker it shudnt b osman it shud b barkley, i know he is gunna b class but he hasnt the experiance of osman
Agree1

Yes your right, was too quick to discard Osman... He has been on fine form for a while now. I guess im just blinded by youth sometimes and am not sure if Osman is a winger or a CAM/CF behind the striker, or a CM... either way, hes been class tho so fair enuff...

Well I think a few of us predicted that Vellios would get his goal and a nice little assist from Denis for Denthe, who took his goal really well. Happy days.....now all we need is for the RS to get beat to round off a nice weekend. Come on you Spurs! (Wavertree Blue) {Ed025's Note - i like your style wavo...you love the blues and hate the reds....a man after my own heart..lol

Couldn't make the game so had the misfortune of watching sky sports while listening to Paul thick as sh@t Merson commentating on the game. Not only does he clearly not like everton but apparently the scorer of out third goal was a player called drench! And he said that we were playing Swansea on two occasions. I can't stand the bloke. Great result today and pleased to see all three subs make an impact. Everton will do just fine I reckon. Coyb

Match of the day really winds me up.I watched Football first on Sky Sports and we played well 1st half and had a few chances and 2nd half was scrappy but we shaded it and had 1 or 2 chances before we scored the 2nd and 3rd goals. Saw the stats on Sky Sports and MOTD we had 13 shots 7 on target 5 off target and wigan had 5 shots 2 on target and 3 off.
Sky Sports showed the highlights properly.
Match of the day show them as if wigan hammered us and we had 3 shots and got lucky. I dont know why but it winds me up ! Match of the day should be re-named to Highlights of Man United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Man city and Liverpool (basically the teams who spent the most money) and goals from the rest.
