Hi Ed would settle for the score today it flatters us a bit, but under R M we would have drawn that game or even worse, I will take a win any time 3 points and a clean sheet bring on that lot from across the park, just hope Morgan is ok, GuernseyBlue.

{Ed025's Note - im very happy with that GB, i just hope we dont bottle it next week mate..

I still think we have a sneaky chance of 4th in the last couple of games, possibly by a point or even goal difference!
We didn't play well today and got a 4 nil result, I suspect Koeman will be making sure we up our game for the derby!

And yes I know it's not likely but I still have faith and hope!

Hi Ed great game today, I would just like to say looking at Roms body language especially after the goals he is not going anywhere, the fans were applauding him from the start and he was loving it, great team performance throughout, GuernseyBlue.

{Ed025's Note - i hope your right GB, 4-0 flattered us a bit but if you give rom chances he will put them away, i can hear some squeaky bums in the teams above us now and if we get a result at the theatre of bluff next week then you never know mate..

18 Mar 2017 18:12:07
Your right there Ed025 we weren't great today but took the chances we had. I felt we were far too deep and looked like we were setting up for counter attack against a poor side instead of getting into them and bossing the game.
Rom took his goals well but his reading of the line is awful and he is caught offside an awful lot for a world class striker, again his hold up play wasn't the best and he was bullied by Maguire and the same for his winning of headers, is he ready for a top European side? My personal opinion is no and deep down surely he knows this himself and the best place to improve is the stage and home that has improved him year on year and that is right here at Everton.
Back to back home wins, 7 goals scored and 2 clean sheets, and this is without really playing that well.
The true test comes now with 2 away games against the other lot and United, these are the games an ambitious player needs to show up for and show that you really are as good as your ego.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - to be fair gray for all his faults he is the leading goalscorer in the toughest league on the planet and that speaks volumes, he is not the finished article yet i agree but if he does iron out his faults then we have no chance of holding on to him mate..

18 Mar 2017 18:36:55
I thought that he looked the weaker out of the players attacking. I thought he was immensely selfish when he could have fed calvert lewin through. 2 good goals and an assist haha. Even when he is poor he is amazing. He has improved massively though on these other aspects. Liked the fans support of Rom and liked his celebration.

No doubting his ability in front of goal, to be considered in the same breath as let's say Suarez who has played in our league he has a lot of improving to do and I hope it is with us as if he leaves to soon he could find his game time limited and slow his progression down.

{Ed025's Note - fair point gray..

The Barkley situation is the one I fear. Sod the Rom, but I would be devastated to lose Barkley. It would be a stain on the club at the moment whist Rom's talent certainly would leave a massive void I feel and always felt in was inevitable. Always felt Barkly would be a long servant and possible club legend. g.

Rom wanting to be ambitous and play for the best cubs and win trophies is fine. Him wanting to move in order to achieve this is fine. However what he has done here is far from fine. If he had these feelings why reveal he is 999.9 percent done to reject it publicly, question the teams ambitions, transfer policy put a dampener on what is a good progressive season for everton and pull a stunt which is going to increase interest fir his signature in such a disrespectful and abrasive way.

Carragah: what a douche. once again it is not what is said or done its how it is done. Mission accomplished. etc Its like it annoys people t weh have a player like Rom.

Another is what some famous fella I never heard of said. Rom to united and true blue rooney to united. True blue are you extracting urine sir? Swap deals very rarely happen anyway. Unitede are not good enough for him in my opinion anyway. Be difficult to move from there to top 3 clubs in euroupe.

Thanks Rom. Should have kept it within the club. Thought only about his prospects mid season at the expense of the club in which he should be committed soley to the cause. Post season is the time to make moves and focus soley on personal decisions. Get rid.

The problem for me is getting a replacement in asap, those over the park lost you know who for 65 mill and didn't replace him, lesson learnt .
We don't need to be continually reminded that at the moment we are not quite good enough, by one of our star players .

10 wins and he gets his champions league football. We need him for the next 10 matches to fire us up the table and see were we end up. He needs the goals for golden boot so its s no loser. Support him till the end of season and leave the club to sort his future out. We don't want to rock the boat now.

Just for fun. I think rom and Ross will both still be here next season. If they do go tho who would you like us to replace them with?

Rom would still command a massive trf fee. Possibly enough to sign 2 new strikers, for me i'd like dolberg and dembele

Ross again would command a large trf fee. Enough to bring tielmans in with money left over.

For me tho best scenario is both stay with us for another year at least.

This is how I see the Rom situation.

As a player he is no doubt fantastic and was a very good buy for the club. I apprentice his goals and commitment to the club. I hope he plays his whole career with Everton but I'm going to give my honest views on him.

Has he the potential to be world class? Definitely. After all at his age he has scored as many goals as pretty much anyone. His goal record for his age shows the potential he has and the heights he may achieve.

However, imho he still has a lot of work to get to the level of Messi or Ronaldo as he is constantly being compared to. Currently I see two reasons for this.

One, is he truly as good as he is made out to be? As I said he is fantastic and has a tremendous goal record. Back to my honest opinion. I can't help but think he has had a the help he could possibly want. I mean everything in the team is set up for him. It seems to me under Koeman and even Martinez the whole emphasis was on him. How to supply him and tactics were made to suit him. Would he get the same privileges at another so called bigger club? Maybe but imho not to the same extent. That's one reason why I question is he slightly over rated.

Secondly he is lacking in some areas. I'm talking about when he is considered world class. To be considered world class imho you need to have a all round play of the highest degree which the likes of Messi and Ronaldo obviously posses. The areas I see him lacking are heading and hold up play. He needs to improve both a lot to be become truly world class.

I hope he does and I'm not knocking him. Just saying how I see it.

Another thing is his agent. Imho these mind games are a lot to do with him. He wasn't brought in recently by Rom to do nothing. It seems he likes playing games and has got the attentions of all possible suiters for Lukaku in the summer lined up. Plenty of time for clubs that are interested to get their house in order and make signing Lukaku happen. No doubt he will get paid handsomely for his planning and scheming.

That's if the move happens. I'm still hopeful Rom will stay and that the media is making a mountain out of a mould hill. My criticism of Lukaku's play has nothing to do with his presumed desire to leave. Just how I see it. Whether he stays or goes I hope him the best.

The club will move on and get better with or without him. I have no doubt about that because I have every faith in the ability of Koeman, Walsh, Moshiri and all involved in the future of our great club.

We need a quality back up/ replacement in place for next season. If he stays and talks to the press then RK can drop him, if he isn't performing then drop him. At the moment we are too reliant on him and play a certain way to get the best out of him. He's a sensible lad so to say we are not ambitious this season is ludicrous. Many players have left Everton for bigger teams some have done well (rooney) and some haven't (rodwell) . There is no guarantee, not to mention if we do challenge for the top 4/ 6 in the next few seasons lukaku might just join one of the teams we knock out of the top 4/ 6. My thought is if he stays all well and good but if he goes then so be it.
