Whats the consensus on Junior Fransisco? Does anyone think he'll make it at Everton? I don't think he's played a game for us yet. and he's on loan at the moment.

he won't make it, he started against leeds and was taken off at half time, he has also been on loan at vitesse where he barely played if at all and now he is in norway where he hasn't made a single appearance, obviously something is wrong, I think he will be sold to portugal or a lower league team or he will be released, don't think he has a future here, neither does vellios, gueye or springthorpe

He might be a player for us once he's finished primary school.

Made me laugh that did Oli! :)

Batshuayi linked with arsenal, i'd say Martinez needs to sign him, looks like a great striker

Assuming we do not sign Lukaku on a permanent, we will be needing another centre forward. Who would people like to see us sign. realistically. I cannot think of any 15 to 20 goals a season strikers who would come to a non-champions league team, but am willing to hear suggestions.

suarez went to liverpool after they finished 7th, michy batman, rhodes or ings if either can step up which I doubt, martinez will find someone, there is always someone, they don't have to be well known or one of the best, someone will always step up be it someone young or someone just hungry for a chance in the prem

Agree0 Disagree0

It's a difficult one that. Personally, I think that Juventus will have a few good strikers leaving at the end of the season that might be worth having. Although he's 31, Quagierella is still a top striker, while Giovinco could offer a different option to anything we have at the moment. Still in Italy, AC Milan are having big problems this season & possibly Pazzini might want a move.

quaglearella or whatever worries me, he has a great shot but isn't that quick or strong and isn't exactly clinical, giovinco is undeniably talented, his close control of the ball and his lightening feet, he would be a good buy, depends on the price though and maybe he is too weak for the prem, pazzini is a decent finisher who is great in the air and reads the game so well, bit too slow on the ball at times and his left foot is at times, non existent

Gabbiadini at sampdoria is scoring a lot this season.would be a decent shout.

Cheers boys. I don't follow the foreign leagues enough to know these players too well. I will check them out. I guess the best way would be to unearth another Rooney and hope this time he stays a bit longer. By the way, I was really pi**ed off when Rooney left. I found it all the more distasteful than when Moyes went. Three reasons.
1. he was one of us.a fan.
2. that bloody tee shirt he revealed.
3. we all knew he was something extra special.

Good post Degsy. i'd avoid Italy full stop. Reason why is they are often overpriced especially the attacking players and lots of crap over there. They almost always flop here, just proving the point:

Shevchenko: 30m, Flop
Crespo: 30m, Flop
Osvaldo: 12m+, hits people in the head, already gone
Borini: hasn't hacked it
Macheda: will never hack it
G Ramirez: 12m+ done nothing
Lamela: 30m terrible, already gone
Giccarini (however you spell it): done nothing
Boriello: Look at who he has played for, can't get a game at West Ham
Libor Kozak: 6m worth of carthorse who can't get into AV team
Veron: Double flop, 45m worth transfer fees
Ravenelli: Boro relegated, Derby relegated
Maccaroni: Boro spent a fortune, he was crap
Casiraghi: Offered nothing then suffered a harsh crocking
Balotelli: nearly left him out but he did flop. 30m I want more than that

There are obviously some exceptions who have done v well but we can't afford an Osvaldo type debacle. that's the whole pot gone and I think that's the risk with Italy. Vucinic is one player i'd take all day long, Giovinco class act but lots will be after him. I'd look to Spain, hotbed of talent and a lot of clubs in a big financial mess, I'm sure Martinez knows this market best. I like Stefan Scepovic of Gigon. In the 2nd league over there the Adelante he's top scorer with 20 goals. Cost them 1m. 24 years old, he's powerful, got good pace and is proving to be a top finisher. Always looking to get in behind. Their equivalent to Danny Ings for about a third of the price, if that.

Another player to add to that list of players who would most likely fit in the prem, but we would never be able to afford is el shaarawy. Looking at the talent in the milan squad, particularly their attack, it makes me wonder why honda went there. They have taarabt, robinho, kaka, el shaarawy, balotelli, poli to name a few. Wonder if anyone knows if he's got a game/started a game since his transfer there?

Back to full fitness and scored 2 against Stoke, surely now Conor McAleny is worth a place on the bench against Swansea?
The lads 21 so he must be given a chance soon or let him go?

i agree mate, kids are being given a chance as young as 16, he is 21, 22 by next season, he must be ready, if martinez doesn't select him this season or next, he will probably have to go, like recently, lukaku has started up front and we have no striker on the bench, at least give him a place on the bench instead of having 2 centre backs and a right back who can play centre back
