Not Everton related but just watched the man city game an I no the world raves about him an I don't no if its just me who thinks this but I don't think messi would be the same player if he was playing in the premier league I just get the feeling hr would not cut the mustard is it just me or does anyone else think that

definitely not, this is something I have been saying for years, he runs through people like they are not there in la liga, he has great acceleration and ball control but everyone backs off him, no one tries to tackle him, this is why I love them playing real madrid, raphael varane has him in his pocket all game, he simply doesn't have the physical ability to survive in the premier league, I know everyone will be annoyed at me for this, but imo ronaldo is not only a better footballer, he is also the far superior athlete, if you took messi out of barcas team they would still do very well, take ronaldo out of real madrid, they would struggle immensely, ronaldo is the reason the fat lads like benzema, marcelo and khedira look good, he is pushing the whole team on, while the rest of real madrid bar luka modric are extremely overrated, ronaldo is faster, stronger, more two footed, better in the air, more powerful and a more useful asset defensively, messi has better control and better passing, that is about it, don't start on finishing, I've seen games where messi has been one on one and hit it straight at the keeper or well wide, he is a great finisher do not get me wrong, but both our equally as good, in the premier league ronaldo had defenders taking swipes at him all the time, yes he dives (so does messi, watch some of his hilarity on youtube) but the thing is, players were still attempting to make contact, in la liga the defenders are about as ferocious as a puppy named tim, if messi came to the premier league, he would soon find himself requesting to be substituted all the time, he wouldn't be able to handle it, so no you are not the only one, I too thing messi would flop more than a dying fish

Ox and Shakey your both demented, best player on the planet by a country mile.

{Ed007's Note - Nonsense. Ronaldo has a lot more in his locker and has proven he can do it in England, Spain and on the international scene, plus Ronaldo would have passed pi$$-testing in his teens. Messi shouldn't even be playing football.}

The 1st time messi has done anything against a premier league team.he is good in la liga and that's why he wants to stay in spain for whole career. He don't have physical ability or enough time on the ball in england.imagine a cup game against a league 1 team.his legs would be broke as soon as the first whistle blew

Agree0 Disagree0

Ronaldo is best player in the world by a mile. Every attribute I would say he is better at. I think Messi shows a complete lack of respect for his teammates. He will go minutes just standing there whilst his team chase the ball round. A defender might have the ball to feet a couple of yards from him and he will just let him move away with it and not even bother challenging. If one of his selfish dribbles doesn't come off you will never see him try and win it back. He only comes to life when the ball is in the final 3rd and he can only do that because he is playing with an amazing team who tolerate it. No manager in the prem would tolerate such a low work rate. Then again, he scores for fun so I guess they might. But I know what a midfielder like Roy Keane would be thinking if he saw it happening in front of his eyes. He would savage him in the dressing room. I don't believe Messi could ever carry his nation like we saw Ronaldo carry Portugal against Sweden.

Messi can't play in the Premier League
players like Olson would bully him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Messi would wipe the floor with the defenders in the premiership. He is a unique talent. La Liga is not that easy. Look at how Bale is struggling compared to last season in the premiership. Listen to all the top managers in the world. I think he is the best player I have seen in my lifetime and I saw Pele, Best, Eusabio, Cruyff, Van Basten etc Defenders back off him because he is so quick of feet. Ronaldo is stronger and has more pace and probably a better stronger shot. but Messi is just so unbelievable at going past players in any situation. He also plays others in and also lots of one two's. He rarely goes wide, so I guess you could say he is more one dimensional. But that one dimension is just so good. It is what excites most people in football.ie someone not afraid to just take people on and beat them. Yes Ronaldo is probably up there with all the greats.but Messi is special and above the greats in mine and many top manager's views.

Has anyone picked on Coronation street recently? It would appear that our neighbour's manager has been moonlighting. There are regular references to Fat Brenda working the switch in the cab office. No one's actually seen her as yet although it's surely only a matter of time as she does get regular mentions.

So Vince McMahon is sniffing around Newcastle. Wasn't he rumoured to be looking at us a few weeks ago?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He is only supposed to be worth 1.1 billion dollars. I don't think that's enough in the modern era of professional footie.

Sorry looked him up as I didn't have a clue as to who he was.
American wrestler, actor and business man.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm one of the people who really want a takeover to happen at Everton but i'm glad v McMahon never put a bid in for us because I don't think he has enough cash to inject in to us so i'm glad he is sniffing round Newcastle but I want someone who has a billion pounds to inject over five to eight years call it wishful thinking but that's my ideal scenario

Agree0 Disagree0

He is the chairman and the majority owner of the wwe (former wwf) wrestling company, he also owns the rights, video/picture library and characters from wcw, ecw, and awa (all used to be huge wrestling companies) he makes millions from his wrestling shows, action figures, merchandise and dvd sales. he is a billionaire and really does have money to burn

And will have no knowledge of football.

Agree0 Disagree0

Uh uh. He is a businessman first and foremost. This is no sugar daddy. Sounds perfect for Newcastle if you ask me.
